Lukas's POV

Their return to England was quiet compared to the rush they had been in when they left. Metz and Guggenheim left to return to Germany almost immediately. They had been gone for too long from the Foundation.

The Dark Lord tried to insist on Lukas going back to his manor with him. The younger man wasnt having any part of it. While Marvolo helped saved him and Orion that didnt mean he trusted the other. It was only with Lukas insistence the threat of using Murasame did he back down.

Orion returned to his own home with Sirius. He only left after giving Lukas the Ancient Amulet of Will. With this Lukas would be able to go after the other Legendary Titans.

James, Remus, Peter all went back to Potter Manor. They were exhausted by the events. Only Severus returned to Hogwarts with him.

Lukas collapsed onto his bed the night of his return. Murasame was uncharacteristically quiet. He had to wonder if it was a side effect of the demon going berserk. Too tired to think about on it further he fell into an uneasy slumber.

For the rest of the break, he recovered and prepared lesson plans. During the time he considered what he would do after this year was over. His contract for the position would be up. Then it would be Dumbledore's decision if he stayed on the staff.

Problem was that if he stayed there wouldn't be much time for hunting down the Legendary Titans. That was his first priority over anything else at this point.

First Legendary Titan he would go after would be in the Amazon. The queen of the Amazonian Seeker Tribe was a friend of Metz in his time. He wasnt just a friend. They had in fact married in France in the late 70s.

Lukas would have to make his decision before Easter. That would give Dumbledore time to prepare for the next year. Or for him to prepare for a short adventure over the summer rather than a longer one.

Lukas currently was sitting at his desk with his journal open in front of him. It was opened to the section from his time as a barkeep. Unofficially Lukas led a guild of freelance seekers. His bar allowed any and all inside as long as they didnt start fights. Many came from all around the world looking for work. New seekers would come looking for advice. The atmosphere was what made it feel like home.

Realistically seekers within a Guild were stronger than those who ran around on their own. Information gathering and networking were far more extensive. This allowed seekers to move around more easily.

Lost in time was a bar in the future. Could it become a Guild? Tapping his pen against the journal he considered it.

The official route would take time and money that wasnt readily available to him currently. As a Guild Leader, he would need a building of his own to act as a base. That alone would cost most of his teacher's salary. Then he would have to deal with the salaries of any members that were under him. Official Guilds were required to have a minimum of three paid members not including the leader.

In the beginning, the Huntik Foundation had bought a run-down library. Given its poor shape at the time they were able to get it fairly cheap. Originally numbered at 12 they grew to be one of the most renowned guilds of their time.

Lukas rubbed a hand down his face tiredly. The other option was to start up his bar again. The idea appealed to him and frightened him. Lost in Time had been everything for him before the attack. To get it the way it was before would take years worth of work. All the permits he would need to make it officially neutral grounds.

He leaned his head against the journal. Both sides would take a lot of work and planning. There wasnt a guarantee he would be able to pull it off.

A knock on the door drew his attention. Lukas called out, "Enter."

Severus Snape entered and Lukas closed his journal to give the boy his full attention. The boy seemed to be nervous about something. He hid it well but it was the same nervousness that Lukas once held.

Lukas greeted with a warm weary smile, "Mr. Snape come in. Would you like some tea?"

The boy shook his head and took the seat across from Lukas. His eyes were on his hands obvious trying to figure out what to say. As tired as Lukas was he wouldn't rush the boy.

Finally, the boy said, "The Headmaster says that I have to go home for the remainder of the holidays. That I cannot stay here."

"Did he say why?"

The Headmaster should not have any say in where a student goes for the Christmas holidays. There were plenty of students that were staying. Even if there weren't many in the way of Slytherins.

Did this have to do with the boy going on a mission for the first time? That might make sense. All the other students had returned home for the holidays following their return to England.

Severus shook his head and Lukas questioned, "Do you not want to go home?"

Again the boy shook his head. If he could prove abuse then he could take over the boy's guardianship. He would need the boy's memories or to see it for himself.

Lukas said tapping his fingers on his desk as he considered the options, "I will likely need to get memories from you why. Does one of your parents hit you? Feel unsafe at home?"

Internally he winced. That was too forward. Then again if he wasn't forward the boy may not give him a straight answer. This had to be difficult for him.

Reluctantly the boy replied, "My father. With my mother being sick it's only gotten worse. I'll share my memories if it will get me out of there."

Lukas wished he could help Severus's mother but he had no jurisdiction over adults. Metz or Charlus might be able to help with that but he didnt want to ask them for favors. Looking back at the boy he realized he might not have much of a choice. He knew what it was like to be an orphan and the only living family you had to hate you. That was not something he wished upon another.

Decision made he rose to his feet to begin the process.
