Here we are again, another chapter of Star Fox Annihilation, I think this is about to pass "My Sangheli Daughter" as my longest story. I'm happy that I still have the passion to work on it. Honestly, I didn't think I'd make it this far, so I guess I'll keep going as long as I have the passion to do it.
This chapter is more of less filling in the blanks and paving the way for the future chapters, mostly by pointing out Fox's potential love interest. I wouldn't be surprised if all these are already obvious but to oblivious Fox he might as well be blind to it till now.
In this chapter I mention the night Fara and Fox lost their virginities, to each other. I figured it'd be right after the ending of the 1992 comics, after the clones are defeated and one of them kills the others. Seems like a good point in time for them to screw for the first time.
Something to point out, I already have more than once, this chapter would be where I planned to end part one of the story if I decided to split it into three parts. If you still think that would be a good idea please say so in a review or message me.
This chapter has another scene with Zathora in it, so expect it to be weird and unclear, that's just her nature.
Hope you enjoy the chapter.
Chapter 19: Family Reunited and Distracted
Great Fox
Todd held his breath as he followed Cara through the hallway with Daria close behind him. He'd been felling anxious ever since he arrived on the Great Fox, knowing who he was supposed to meet when they got to the bridge. He was happy to have the two women he completely trusted by his side, with them nearby he knew there was nothing he couldn't get through. Though no one said a word there was no need, the feeling of a bonding love existed between them, but it still felt a little awkward not to be bombarded by questions from Daria and questions from Cara. He didn't focus too much on it; there were plenty of other things he needed to focus on. As he followed Daria, while tightly gripping Cara's hand, he noticed the condition of the hallway, and just the Great Fox in general, certainly wasn't in the best condition, that it was somehow worse than the last time he was onboard.
"Huh, the Great Fox sure has . . . degraded since I last saw it." Todd said, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, without jobs the team hasn't been able to keep the ship updated. That's one of the downsides of peace, no work for the fighters." Daria replied.
"Can't say I'm surprised, Star Fox wasn't exactly swimming in jobs when I got shot down. But, it looks like they've been able to do repair some of it recently."
"I noticed that too, though it doesn't seem like the repairs have been fully completed." Cara added.
"Thankfully the Saurian Crisis got them a nice, fat paycheck so they afford new upgrades and renovations." Daria responded to Todd. "That contract, given to them by Fara and General Pepper, was more than enough for them to get repairs the Great Fox desperately needed, making with some upgrades. But, before they could be completed we got the message about you on Fichina, so we had to hurry over. That's where I think we're headed now, to have the upgrades completed."
"Ah, who's overseeing the upgrade?" Todd asked.
"Fara, you know how passionate she is when it comes to keeping Fox safe, mostly so he can be a father to Vixy. So, you know it'll be done right."
"Good, hopefully she'll get it running even better than before. Though, knowing her, that's pretty much a certainty. Hopefully it won't take long, not like time is on our side with Andross on the loose."
Daria turned around and lightly, by her standards, punched Todd in the shoulder. "Hey, that's enough about Andross. All everyone's talked about ever since the mission is that bastard. We don't need that spoiling the mood right now."
Todd couldn't help but smirk as he rubbed his shoulder. "When did you get so mature and brash?"
"I've always been this way, you just haven't noticed."
Todd shook his head with a chuckle as he looked down at Daria. He hated to admit it but she was right, he was too busy seeing his as his little sister to protect instead of focusing on how brash and mature she had become. The last time he saw her she was barely eighteen, still a kid. Standing before him at the moment was the same girl just fully grown up into a gorgeous woman. Looking her over he hated to admit that his little sister had grown into a sexy woman with a body that guy would foam at the mouth over. Fortunately, Daria was well trained, thanks to him, so he wasn't too concerned about her. To Todd, looking down at his not-so-little sister, he knew he had to start seeing her as an adult, but still be there for her if she needed it.
Todd sighed loudly. "Yeah, you got a point. It'll just be hard to see you as a woman, not as little fluffball."
Daria giggled. "You can still call me that, just keep your word on treating me like an adult."
"I'll make sure he does." Cara stated for Todd with a playful smile.
"Oh I feel so much better." Todd replied sarcastically result in Cara playfully slapping the back of his head.
Daria grinned as she shook her head. "Now that's settled the bridge awaits us. Your surprise is probably ready by now."
"What surprise?"
Daria didn't reply, instead she turned around with a devilish grin that made Todd uncomfortable. Whatever surprise Daria had in mind it had to include a dark twist, he knew her to well to suspect anything less. Cara had a similar expression which made him even more nervous, but he knew he had no choice but to follow. Fortunately, it was only a short walk to the bridge from there where Daria stopped just by the door.
"Alright, Todd, are you ready?"
Todd shrugged. "I guess."
"Good, then you may want to ready yourself for the fluffy onslaught."
The door to the bridge opened and Todd's expression instantly changed when he saw who was waiting for him. Standing in the center of the bridge was Fay, Peppy, and Felicity who turned towards the door when it opened. Felicity lit up like a Christmas tree upon seeing her father enter the bridge.
"DADDY!" Felicity screamed as she ran to Todd past everyone as if she was a blur.
Felicity pounced as soon as she was close to Todd, launching herself into his arms. Todd caught her but barley as she impacted his chest with such force that he was almost knocked over. He quickly wrapped his arms around her back to catch her as she did the same to his neck. She squeezed his neck tightly but not enough to suffocate him. He could feel her tail hit his forearms as it swung back and forth at a ridiculous speed. Todd could see the tears rolling down her cheek as she hugged him tightly, refusing to let go.
"How is my little ball of fluff doing?" Todd said in a baby voice as he gently squeezed Felicity.
Felicity looked at up Todd with tears in her eyes but didn't reply. Instead, she just kissed his cheek then buried her head into his neck. She pressed herself so tightly against him that he could feel her heart beating. He'd never seen Felicity behave in such a manner and he wasn't about to let it end. Todd just looked down at her and gently patted her back as he held onto her.
"Aw, looks like someone missed her daddy." Daria said in sarcastic, baby tone before turning to Cara. "I know he'd like the surprise."
"I still think it would've been simpler to just tell him."
"Yeah but it wouldn't have been as cute."
Cara shrugged. "You got a point there; this is just the cutest moment I've seen of them since Felicity was born."
"That's because it's such a beautiful reunion moment." Peppy said, stating the obvious like he always did.
"Then let's let them enjoy the moment." Fay stated.
Todd heard everyone turn to leave besides Cara and Daria, though they moved very slowly, apparently wanting to take on as much of the moment as possible. It didn't bother him, for all his cared they could all be shouting and arguing with each other and it wouldn't have bothered him as long as Felicity was safe in his arms. He was just glad she wasn't squirming around like she usually did when he held her. Todd suspected she was just overwhelmed with joy to be in her father's arms after so long, if that was the case he'd hold onto her as long as he could.
"I missed you daddy." Felicity whispered as she snuggled her head under his chin.
"I missed you too little one. I told you I'd hold you again."
Todd barely moved as he felt Felicity cry onto his chest. He didn't need to see her face to know that they were tears of joy. He could hear her softly crying, trying not to make it so obvious but he didn't care. After everything that'd happened, to him Felicity deserved a right to cry. Todd didn't even try to hold back his tears as he held her tight against his chest, the others certainly didn't seem to care or hold him in any less significance, it wouldn't have bothered him if they did, he was just happy to have his daughter in his arms.
"Nice to see that someone is enjoying themselves." Fox shouted as the elevators doors opened and he step onto the bridge with Miyu following close behind him.
Todd turned and smiled at his little brother as he walked onto the bridge. Felicity hardly moved in his arms, apparently not wanting to let him go. Todd just held onto her as he walked towards Fox and the two of them shook hands. If he wasn't holding his daughter he would've hugged Fox after not having seen him since he and most of the others headed back to the Great Fox to prepare for the assault. It wasn't till after their hands separated that Todd noticed Fox appeared to be not just stressed but also greatly concerned. Though Fox was doing a good job at hiding it he still spotted it. Looking behind Fox he could see Miyu intently focused on him and Felicity as if she was mentally taking a photo of the moment.
"Aw, you two are so cute together." Miyu said as she approached Todd and Felicity.
Miyu reached forward and lightly patted Felicity on the head as he held her. Much to Todd's surprise, Felicity leaned into Miyu's pet and actually seemed to enjoy it. Felicity usually hated it when people touched her parents touched her head, but for some reason she seemed to like it when a woman she barely knew did it. Glancing quickly at Cara she seemed to be just as surprised as him.
Hm, maybe Miyu just has a magic touch. Todd thought as smiled down at Felicity.
"Be careful calling her cute, Miyu." Cara spoke up. "She doesn't like that word when it's directed at her.
"Well then, its good thing I was referring to all three of you." Miyu replied with a chuckle, looking directly at Todd.
"I'm not so certain about that." Daria responded with a sarcastic grin. "Cara or Miyu are definitely cute but Todd is questionable at best."
Peppy smirked, along with everyone else, before replying. "Dang, Daria, not even your big brother is immune to your sarcasm."
"No one is except for Vixy, but now Felicity is too."
"That's probably a smart move; I don't think Felicity would take insults very well." Cara replied.
"Hey, I'm right here!" Felicity squealed.
"We know sweetie, you're too adorable to miss." Todd said getting a playful hiss from Felicity in his arms.
Fox shook his head. "Yeah, she's definitely a McCloud."
Daria nodded in agreement. "Oh definitely, she'll fit right in with our crazy family."
"That's what worries me." Cara stated with a big smile, causing everyone to laugh.
Todd tried not to laugh; worried he'd accidentally hurt or drop Felicity. Cara often joked about that when they were on Fichina after Felicity went to sleep. He knew she was joking and looked forward to becoming a McCloud herself; it was only a matter of time. At least she was fitting in pretty well onboard the Great Fox, everyone seemed to like her, well her sense of sudden and unexpected humor anyway.
Once the laughter died down Todd turned to Fox and said. "Is everything alright brother? I haven't seen you this stressed out since dad told you he was marrying Shelby."
Fox shook his head as everyone laughed. "Very funny bro."
"Hey, I'm just pointing out the obvious little bro."
"Yeah Fox, you got to tell us, we're all part of your team." Daria stated. "You're not exactly doing a good job hiding your emotions."
"Well, not all of us." Peppy exclaimed looking at Cara who only shrugged.
Fox looked down at the ground and sighed. "I suppose you have a point."
"Dang right I do." Daria replied in a loud, sarcastic tone, receiving a light shoulder pat from Todd.
Todd looked at Fox to see he clearly didn't want to tell them, though he was trying his best to hide it. The young fox was never good at hiding his emotions, especially from him, and had somehow gotten even worse at it as an adult. He could see that it was bugging Fox and that while it was obvious why he looked depressed it needed to come out, especially to those who are actively a part of Star Fox. Unfortunately, the way everyone was egging him on wasn't helping, only making things worse.
"Alright, I'll tell you." Fox finally said after a few moments. "Well, I just got off of a call from General Pepper about the Fichina operation. Long story short, it is not good."
"I think that's kind of obvious brother." Daria loudly replied. "Andross coming back is not something that will go over well."
"That's basically the idea, plus there are a couple of officials blaming us for Andross' escape."
The room fell deathly silent as everyone look at Fox. No one seemed to believe the words that had just came out of his mouth. Even Todd had trouble believing what he just heard and could only stare at Fox.
"Please tell me you're joking, Fox?" Miyu growled.
Fox shook his head. "Nope, because we were there when Andross escaped a couple of officials are blaming us."
"That's BS!" Fay exclaimed, getting all eyes temporarily on her, it was extremely rare to hear her speak in that manner."
Daria rolled her eyes. "Yep, that sounds about right, the high up morons blaming the pee-ons at the bottom for something that clearly wasn't their fault."
Cara turned to Daria and spoke. "You sound like you've experienced that before."
"Of course, being Tier1 it happens all the time, eventually you get used to it."
"That doesn't mean we should just accept it." Peppy stated.
"I don't plan on it." Fox replied sternly. "Thankfully it's only a couple officials stating that and they're all insignificant, at least they are compared to General Pepper who is fighting hard to silence that."
Todd let out a sigh of relief. "That's good, hopefully it'll be over with quickly but it wouldn't take much for that to get out and if it does to the Cornerian public, even though it's not true, it'll be devastating for us."
Todd winched at the thought of what Fox said, knowing he was right. He knew how panicky the Cornerian public could be after the Lylat Wars. Something like Andross coming back would easily cause panic and people would look for someone to blame. Just the thought of it was enough to make Todd feel uncomfortable and concerned. Thankfully, holding Felicity in his arms seemed to help.
"So, what are you going to do about it, bro?" Todd asked.
"At the moment I'm unsure, this is not something that could be solved easily if it happens."
"You're right but it can be done. I'm sure you'll figure something out, you always do brother. If not you got us for help."
"I sure hope so, that'd be a huge weight off my chest. But, for the time being, we're just going to have to deal with it." Fox sighed for a moment before he changed expressions and smiled at Todd. That's enough gloom for today, this is a happy moment, let's not ruin it."
Everyone nodded in agreement as it was clear no other word beyond that needed to be said. Instead, everyone began looking around the room as if they were trying to find something to say but nothing came to mind. No one said a word for a few moments and it didn't take long for it to feel awkward.
Daria broke the silence as she turned to Todd and asked. "So bro, what are you going to do now? You're finally off that frozen craphole, surely you got something planned.
Todd shrugged as he looked at Cara to see her giving him a confused expression. If he was being honest with himself he didn't really know. Before the Venomians, and Andross, showed up on Fichina he planned on retiring with Cara, he promised her he would. But, with Andross being somewhere in the Lylat System that planned seemed to fly out the window.
"Are you going to stay with us?" Miyu squealed.
Todd looked at Miyu to see her looking ecstatically at him. She seemed to be practically begging him to stay with her posture and expression. It didn't surprise him to see it from her, it almost made him laugh.
Todd felt Cara lay a hand on his shoulder. "Honey, I know you promised to settle down and marry me . . . but, neither of us could've foreseen Andross showing up." Cara sighed loudly. "So, I think for the time being we should stay and help your brother bring him down."
Todd fought back a gasp as he looked down at Cara. "Sweetie, are you sure about that? I mean I did promise I'd marry you. You know I don't go back on my word."
"Oh I know, that's why I'm certain you'll keep your promise. We can marry once this is all over."
Out of the corner of his eye Todd noticed how Miyu glanced at Cara, even though it was quick he still saw it. He saw her expression change from happy to a near growl the moment Cara mentioned marriage. But as quickly as it appeared Miyu changed her expression back to smiling before anyone but his seemed to notice. He had suspicions that she'd be jealous of Cara and her expression confirmed it. Seeing it made him feel a little uneasy but he knew calling her out on it at that moment would certainly not end well. He could bring it up later, preferably when they were alone.
Pushing the thought aside Todd leaned over and kissed Cara on the forehead. "Thanks hun, I'll find a way to make up for this."
"Just stay alive and that shouldn't be a problem."
"I intend to." Todd replied then turned to Fox. "Yeah, I think I'll stay for now, at least till we catch that ape."
The room erupted in cheers making Felicity squirm in Todd's arms. He forgot to tell everyone she hates sudden loud noises, the cheering definitely riled her up. He hugged her tightly getting her to calm down quickly before she freaked out. Thankfully Cara was quick to calm everyone down which was quickly followed by everyone apologizing.
Once the cheering stopped Fox approached Todd with a smile. "I guess I should say welcome to Star Fox brother."
"I'm happy to help . . . for the time being."
"Any help you can give, even temporary, is appreciated."
Daria walked up behind Todd and patted him on the back. "Come on brother, I'll show you to your room."
Cara turned to Daria. "Is it big enough for the three of us?"
"It should be, might need to do some moving around but I think it'll be fine."
Todd smiled at his little sister. "The lead the way fluffball."
Daria giggled as she turned towards the elevator and walked towards it with Todd following as he carried Felicity and Cara followed behind him. He was happy to finally have a real bed to fall, even though it'd take some getting used to. As long as he was among family he was happy. But as Todd followed Daria he couldn't help but be concerned of the expression Miyu gave Cara. He knew it was going to bug him, no matter how much he tried to ignore it. At least he had Cara to "help" him forget about it.
Is it just me or did Miyu seem a little more jealous of Cara than I thought she would? Todd thought as he followed Daria only to shrug his shoulders once the door was shut. Oh well, surely Miyu won't do anything stupid.

Great Fox kitchen
Krystal looked up from her peanut butter, jelly, chocolate, and tuna sandwich when her telepathy picked up on an annoyed presence entering the kitchen. She let out a sigh as she spun around to see who was interrupting her meal to spot Fox walking in looking depressed and confused. He seemed to be so distraught that he didn't even appear to notice she was in the kitchen. Seeing her desired male look so stressed made her feel sorry for him despite having her meal interrupted. She watched as he walked past her to the fridge and pulled out a drink without acknowledging her waiting for the right moment to speak.
Just as Fox was about to open his drink Krystal spoke up in a loud but calm tone. "Fox, you seem a little stressed. You want to talk about what's wrong?"
Krystal's words seemed to snap Fox out of his trance. He looked up from the floor at her with a confused expression. Normally he would've smiled at her but that evening he barely nodded. Instead, he just waved to her and barely cracked a smile.
"Krystal, sorry, I didn't see you there. I suppose it's obvious I'm distracted." Fox said.
"Obvious is an understatement."
"Well, with your telepathy I'd be surprised if you didn't already know, isn't that true."
Krystal nodded. "Yes, my telepathy can pick up on what is bothering you but since you are not a telepath that makes discussing it difficult."
"Discuss it?"
"Yes, it is clear you that you need to discuss it with someone, might as well be me. But, as I said, we Cerinians are used to discussing our problems telepathically so it might be a little difficult for me."
"Oh, well, we don't have to discuss it if you don't want to." Fox replied.
"No, it's clear we need to discuss it. Now please take a seat."
Fox sighed as he took a seat in the bar chair next to Krystal. Reluctantly, Krystal pushed her sandwich aside and turned her chair towards him. As much and she wanted to eat clearly giving Fox some therapy was more important, she could always resume eating her sandwich later.
Krystal crossed her legs and laid a hand on Fox's forearm. "Okay Fox, tell me what's bothering you."
"That's the problem, I got a lot of emotions right now. It's just so confusing, I feel both joyful and angry at the same time."
"Then let's start with what's making you happy, though I think that is pretty obvious."
"You are referring to Todd being rescued and reunited with his family?" Fox replied.
"Yes, that has got to be his best thing that has happened to your family since Vixy's birth."
"It is, I was in tears seeing Todd hug Felicity, and it was so cute. Everyone was getting along and we were, and still are, happy having the family together."
Krystal smiled warmly. "I bet, I could sense everything happening from down here. It was one of the most heartwarming sensations I have sensed in a long time."
"I bet it was, too bad it is being overwhelmed with such a negative event."
Krystal sighed as she looked at Fox. Ever since Andross escaped through the black hole he had been stressed out and depressed, to the point where he had barely said a word to anyone. After what happened she didn't blame him one bit for feeling like a failure. He was so close to bringing down the maniac who had so many people anguish that to have him slip away like that would drive even the most hardened person to depression. Krystal was kind of surprised Fox wasn't lying in his room crying or cussing. Just to see him seated before her was a surprise.
Krystal leaned back in her chair and sighed loudly. "Yeah, that whole thing was just F'ed up. How could we have predicted Andross would escape like that?"
"We should have guessed, Andross has been known to experiment with worm holes before. I just, never thought he'd use one like that when we were so close. I had him in my sights and was waiting on a confirmed lock to fire. I should have just fired the cannons and hit him."
"Fox, could even you have hit him at that distance?"
Fox groaned as he shook his head. "No, I've hit targets before at that range but not accurately. Still, I should've at least tried."
"Maybe, but it's nowhere near a guarantee you would have hit. The way I see it you did the right thing trying to get a definitive shot instead of just firing at him with no guarantee."
"I guess you're right, still it all feels like it's my fault that we're in this mess. If only I had reacted quicker."
Krystal laid a firm hand on Fox's arm and starred him in the eye. "Fox, there's no way you can be certain about that. I know it sounds cliché but we cannot change a past. It happened and there's nothing we can do about it. Right now what matters is what we do now."
"Yeah, that's the problem cause right now I have no idea what we're going to do now besides try to find Andross. Unfortunately, we don't know here to start."
"That won't stop you, I know we will find him eventually. We just have to keep trying till we do."
Fox smiled as he looked at Krystal. "Aren't you just a little ray of sunshine on a cloudy day."
"One of us has to be. I am happy to be yours as long as you keep going after Andross."
"And we definitely will, we'll track him down and make him pay. Unfortunately, in the mean time we got another potentially serious issue."
Krystal looked at Fox slightly confused. "What is that?"
"How everyone will see us because it was us that Andross escaped from"
"That . . . does not make any sense. We did everything we could to capture Andross. General Pepper and the others seemed to realize that during the briefing and did not hold that against us."
Fox sighed loudly. "I know, but the general public doesn't know that. When they find out that we failed to catch Andross it won't matter that the circumstances were impossible, they'll most likely be angry at us. On top of that, it's not going to be good for the team's public reputation either, which will affect how many quality jobs we get, assuming we get any at all."
"You think people will panic when that comes out?"
"Unfortunately, yes, I do. Andross caused such destruction during the Lylat Wars, and a lot of people remember it, that just the news of him still alive will freak people out. Corneria will probably experience a widespread panic when it is announced."
Krystal patted Fox's forearm. "Maybe, or it is possible the will they will come together and prepare without panic."
"I hope so but I doubt it. Either way, when that comes out it will not be good. It definitely will not be good for the Star Fox team."
"Why is that?"
"Because, as I said a minute ago, the public will probably see us as the reason for Andross' return since we failed to take him out." Fox reluctantly replied. "Because we failed the public to will almost blame us and the media will certainly see to that."
"Fox, you are thinking about this way too much. You cannot put a lot of stock in what the general public thinks about you."
"I know, I never have, even after Star Fox became public celebrities. Though it has its benefits it can also have its downsides. Andross getting lose is definitely going to have its downsides for us."
"Really, how so?"
Fox sighed. "Well, for starters they'll see us as failures and that'll effect how many jobs we get as well as the quality of them."
"Just because Andross escaped?"
"Yes, for Corneria, Andros is a BIG issue, big enough that they'll begin seeing us differently. That's why we'll have to track him down and end this quickly."
"Ah, so a lot of it is business? Seems kind of shallow." Krystal replied.
"I agree, but we're a mercenary team, reputation is everything when it comes to jobs we get. Andross getting away is certainly not good for our reputation."
"I guess that makes enough sense, still sounds pretty shallow to me."
Fox shrugged. "I know, but there's really nothing we can do about that beyond embrace it and fix our mistakes. I will say that I'm not just doing this for the money, taking out Andross is just as much a personal and honor thing as it is professional and business."
"Hm, at least you're not completely heartless." Krystal said with a giggle.
"Very funny, Krystal." Fox smirked as he leaned towards Krystal. "Aren't you mad at me, Krystal?"
Krystal shook her head. "No, I got no reason to be mad at you. It's Andross I'm furious at, not you."
"Really?"
"The guy murdered my parents and countless others, of course I'm mad that he's still around. But, being angry right now, mostly because there's nothing I can do about it right now, solves nothing. So, I'll just have to wait till the chance comes along to kill him. Till then I'll try to be as cheerful as I can."
Fox stared at Krystal blankly for a moment before replying. "That's, an interesting way to think about it. Right now I'm just glad you're not mad at me."
"Nah, it'd take a lot for me to be mad at you."
"Well, that's a big relief off my chest." Fox replied with a small smile. "What scares me is that at some point I'm going to have to face Diana and Torygg."
You worried they will also blame you for Andross' escape?"
"Oh yeah, you've seen what they're capable of. You can't tell me envisioning angry versions of them coming after you are not horrifying."
Krystal couldn't help but giggle. "That would be truly horrifying. Fortunately, I think you'll find them to be far more calm about the situation than you think."
Fox gave Krystal such a confused expression that she had trouble keeping it together. He looked so cute confused that she just wanted to say "aw," but just smiled back at him.
"Uh, have you been reading their minds?" Fox asked.
"Almost nonstop, though I've been doing that to everybody. I can stop if it makes you uncomfortable."
"As long as you're not going too deep into someone's mind, like finding out their secrets, I don't think I have a problem with."
"That is not a problem, we Cerinians are usually courteous and respectful with our telepathy. We do not delve deep into a person's mind unless they give us permission or it is absolutely necessary."
"That's . . . good to know." Fox replied as he rubbed the back of his head. "So, what can you tell me about Torygg and Diana, how are they holding up."
"Well, last time I checked on Torygg he was doing alright. He threw some weights around earlier but I think it helped get rid of his anger. Right now he is still upset but nowhere near what he was. If you talked to him do not bring up Andross and you will be fine."
"That's good, one less thing I got to worry about. But how's Diana doing?"
Krystal let out a loud sigh. "Not so good, she is in the weight room destroying a punching bag with both her first and her cursing. She is REALLY upset. I would highly recommend speaking to her as soon as possible."
"Oh course, I definitely will, just hopefully she's not in a murder mood. I still have to ask about you. I feel like an idiot for not asking sooner but how are you holding up?"
Krystal smiled softly as she looked into Fox's eyes to see that he was genuinely concerned about her. She knew he liked her but to see that he actually cared about her was enough to warm her heart. She had gotten used to her telepathy seeing behind males that acted like they cared but really just wanted to mate her. With Fox, though she could see that he definitely wanted to spend all night in her bed that wasn't what he was after, and to her that really spoke volumes to his character and made him even more of a desirable male to her.
"If I am going to be honest, not as good as I was hoping I would be. The guy who killed my parents is still out there and we have no idea what his plans are. That is pretty horrifying for me to think about."
"I know exactly how you feel, he killed both of my parents too. The thought of him still being alive is infuriating. The only reason I'm able to stay calm right now is that I know we WILL find Andross and stop him."
Krystal smiled as she gripped Fox's hand. "This is one reason why I like you. There is a certainty that we will find and destroy him. That fire in your eyes to do what needs to be is what makes me want to follow you to the pits of hell. With you leading us I know we will get that son of a bitch eventually."
Fox placed his other hand on Krystal's shoulders. "And I am more than happy to have such a fierce vixen by my side. I don't know why but I feel like with you I just know we can do this."
"Maybe it is just my sparkling personality."
"That very well be so, if it is I'm glad to have it." Fox replied the suddenly put on a serious expression. "Krystal, if you want to talk I'm here for you."
"I know, I consider myself very fortunately to have a leader like you who looks after me."
"Someone her has to, and no I'm not looking after you because you're the most gorgeous vixen I've ever seen."
Krystal blushed. "Of course, I am just glad to hear it from you, and not from a guy who is just trying to bed me."
"Ah, I bet that must get old."
"You have no idea, but that is beside the point. At least we got the tension out in the air, it is always good to talk about it."
Fox shrugged. "I guess you have a point. Now we just need to figure out what to do with it."
"We can figure out that later, right now there are other things that demand your attention, like speaking to Diana."
"I supposed you got a point. Oh well, we'll discuss it later when things aren't so tense, though it would be nice to at least have an idea."
Krystal's mind suddenly kicked into overdrive by Fox's last comment. She remembered her mother teaching her Cerinian therapy techniques when she was a teenager. Her mother said that techniques always worked on her father whenever he was feeling stressed and Krystal believed her; her father always had a big smile afterwards. The downside was that her mother told her to know use the techniques on her mate due to the intercourse involved. If she did those techniques to Fox he would almost certainly become her mate afterwards. It made her second guess doing it, let alone suggesting it to Fox.
Hm, this may be the opportunity I have been looking for to get Fox's attention. The question is, am I woman enough to follow through with it. Krystal thought as she looked at Fox's well-toned body. Oh yeah, I can definitely follow through with it.
Krystal leaned in close to Fox and playfully batted her eyelids at him. "Well, we Cerinians are very good at reliving stress. We have some very . . . interesting methods that I know you will enjoy. Our messages revolve around our telepathy and enjoyable techniques that both parties will love."
"Really, like what?"
"Oh, something like . . ."
Krystal leaned in and began whispering in Fox's ear what she had in mind. The amount of dirty things she whispered in his ear was enough to make a sailor blush. She whispered things involving nearly every room on the Great Fox that she wanted him to do to her, placing a hand on his inner thigh to solidify her point. Fox remained speechless the entire time, seeing to just take in what she was telling him.
After a few moments, Krystal leaned back, removing her hand from his thigh, looking at a shocked Fox. "How does that sound?"
Fox starred at Krystal blankly as what she said sank in. All he appeared to be able to do was stare at her with a strange smile and gasped expression. He barely moved for several moments other than blink, Krystal began thinking she broke him.
"Uh, I'm not sure what to say."
Krystal playfully smirked as she leaned back from Fox. "I am just putting this in the open out of curiosity to see where it goes. You do not have to do anything right now."
"Uh, okay, that's . . . not what I was expecting to hear."
"I know, I just want you to think about it, that is all. Maybe just the thought will help make this day better."
Fox rubbed the back of his head. "Uh, if you say so."
"Good, at least you understand. Now, go and speak with Diana, she needs it."
Fox nodded, the confused and stunned expression making it hard for Krystal to not laugh as he quickly turned around and walked out of the kitchen. She didn't need to her telepathy to see that the man was aroused, though he tried to hide it. At least he wasn't focused on Andross escaping anymore, meaning she had done her job, though she couldn't help but be curious of what Fox would do know that he knew how she felt.
Hm, maybe I was a little too direct with the guy. He didn't seem to notice though, maybe he was too distracted by Andross. Can't say I blame him one bit. Krystal thought as she reached for her sandwich.

Great Fox workout room
Diana let out a loud roar as she threw another full powered punch into the punching bag. The bag swung high from the incredible force from her strike; nearly breaking the chain. She didn't give the bag time to recover as she quickly switched stances as the bag swung back towards her. Putting all of her strength and momentum into her fist, she waited for the opportune moment to launch her next strike.
"DIE ANDROSS DIE YOU MOTHER F*KING PIECE OF SH*T APE!" Diana screamed as she threw an insanely powerful punch.
Diana's punch possessed so much force that the chain holding it up couldn't handle it and broke. The bag flew clear across the room, landing on the ground with a loud thud. Though it satisfied Diana to see the bag be destroying her anger hadn't in the least bit subsided. Normally, destroying something with her powerful punches was enough to calm her down but that evening it certainly wasn't the case. She knew she needed something else to relieve her anger otherwise she wouldn't be any good to anyone.
"Uh, I can leave if you want me to." A voice behind her called out.
Diana nearly jumped as she turned around to see who was standing behind her, normally such a feat wouldn't be possible but she thought she was so angry that shedding detects whoever it was coming in. Standing a short distance behind her was Fox, who looked absolutely nervous, as if he we questioning his decision to enter the room. After he had just seen her destroy the punching bag she would be surprised if even Todd, Daria, or Torygg weren't afraid.
However, Diana also noticed that for some reason Fox seemed to be quite excited about something. It took a moment for Diana to realize Fox's gaze was on her chest. Looking down she could see why, the tight sports bra she was wearing barely covered her massive breasts. She had borrowed it from Daria, who herself had big breasts. But, Daria's 36 D breasts were nothing compared to Diana's F size fun bags. She was practically flowing out of them, but at least it still covered the important parts so Fox couldn't her tits.
"Nah, you can stay, I could use another way to calm down, and punching this bag isn't doing a damn thing." Diana shrugged as she picked the punching bag off the floor.
"Uh, you're not going to start punching me again are you?"
"No, I smacked you around more than enough when we spared. Doing it again would just be a waste of time."
"That's . . . comforting to know. At least I don't have to worry about getting my ass handed to me by you again." Fox said with a sigh of relief.
"As long as you don't do anything stupid then no. Though from what Fara told me that's pretty common."
"Oh great, you've been listening to her stories?"
"Oh yes, she's funny, especially telling the old stories of you." Diana replied with a chuckle.
"I'm almost afraid to ask which stories though I think I have an idea and that's horrifying."
Diana smirked as she lifted the bag effortlessly onto the chain. "I wouldn't worry about it, those stories don't affect what I think of you."
"They don't?"
"Of course not, I already know what I think of you after having fought alongside you and that's good enough for me."
"I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or not." Fox responded as he stepped up beside Diana and nervously rubbed the back of his head. "Uh, I know it's a foolish question to ask but are you okay? I know you're pissed about Andross escaping and probably blame me . . ." Fox began only for Diana to raise her hand cutting him off.
"No, I'm pissed at Andross, not you."
"Seriously, you don't blame me for Andross' escape?"
Diana shook her head, her breast slightly shaking as well in front of Fox. "Of course not. I know you did everything you could to stop him and if it wasn't for the worm hole Andross would be dead right now. So I blame Andross, not you."
"That's good to know." Fox replied with a sigh of relief. "What about Torygg? Does he blame me?"
"Yes, Torygg told me that's looking to turn you into his floor mat."
Fox jumped back and practically screamed. "He wants to do what to me."
Diana tried hard no to laugh at Fox's expression but couldn't last more than a moment before bursting out laughing. "Nah, I'm just kidding. He doesn't blame you either, no one does."
"Oh thank goodness, for a moment I thought I was going to have to abandon ship."
"Don't worry, I'd let you know if Torygg's ever after your hide . . . maybe."
Fox sighed loudly. "I think my sister's rubbing off on you."
"Very funny, but seriously if Torygg ever comes after you I'll back you up."
"Huh, after seeing what you can do I'd say that with you backing me I think I could take on the system."
"Hey, I'm tough but I'm not that tough." Diana said with a smile. "I will say this, I would be sorry if Vixy saw how I was acting."
"Well, she didn't so that is a good thing. Daria's looking after her right now so I wouldn't worry about it. Daria's very good at keeping the little kit entertained for long periods of time."
"I've noticed, still I'd hate for Vixy to see me like this. After everything you've done for me I'd hate to scare little Vixy like that."
Fox nodded. "And I thank you for that. It's just surprising that see you with Vixy."
"I know, for some reason I'm just good with children, always have been. Plus Vixy is just so cute it's hard not to be friendly around her."
"Don't tell me you're falling for her cute act."
Diana smirked as she shook her head. "Nah, that doesn't work on me."
"If you say so."
"I say so cause it IS true." Diana replied in a stern voice before putting on a serious-ish expression. "I know this is a change in subject but I do want to do something for giving me the opportunity to kill Colonel Flax. You have no idea what that means to me, my brother, and our tribe. Just having him dead will earn you a lot of gratitude from the Sharpscales."
"I don't know what I can do other than keep doing what we're already doing. You and Torygg seem to fit right in with everyone and no one is complaining. Heck, you're even good with Vixy so that's a plus."
"She's easy to get along with and entertain so it's no big deal for me. Plus I enjoy it." Diana replied with a slight smile. "Still, getting to fly with you is honorable enough for the time being."
"I guess, I just wish I could do more to thank you for your help."
"No my brother and I should be thanking you for everything. You've done so much for us; allowing Torygg and me to fly with you, letting us tag along on the Venom embassy assault, being so accommodating towards us when no one else has been, and helping us get our feet on the ground towards becoming mercenaries. Those are just the things I can name off the top of my head."
"Ah, you put it that way it sounds like you owe me more than I owe you." Fox said with a short smirk.
"Unfortunately, yes we do. Torygg and I intend to pay you back for everything. We just don't know how we'll do that."
"Hm, I see I can't talk you out of this, even though I've repeatedly said it's not necessary."
Diana sighed as she nodded. "That's just how things are with my tribe. It just wouldn't feel right if we left without paying you back for everything."
Fox shrugged. "Alright, if you and Torygg feel like that is necessary than I won't stop you."
"Thank you, Fox." Diana replied then suddenly a big smile formed on her face. "But I think I know how I can at least begin paying you back." She stated then before Fox could reply she quickly leaned towards him.
Fox didn't have time to back away before Diana's lips touched his cheek. He just stood there as she lightly and quickly kissed his cheek. As quickly as it happened she backed away and looked down at him with a big smile. All Fox did was look up at her with his jaw wide open. His expression got even bigger when he realized that, due to the angle she was bending over, he had a perfect view down her top, allowing him to see all her well-endowed assets. It was almost enough to make Diana giggle but she remained calmed and just gazed back at him, waiting for him to react
"Uh, I was not expecting that?" Fox stuttered as he touched his cheek where Diana kissed him after a few moments of silence. "I'm not sure how to say other than you're welcome."
"That's all you need to say for the time being." Diana replied in a calm voice but on the inside she was shaking. "Don't you have somewhere else to be? I'm sure after what happened on Fichina there's a lot you need to do."
"Uh, yeah, there is. Unless there's anything else you need I'll be on my way."
"No, I've said and done everything I needed to do. You're free to go."
Before Fox could reply Diana spun around, facing the punching bag again. She knew he probably thought she was giving him the cold shoulder or just dismissing him as if what she just did was no big deal when nothing could be further from the truth. Diana could not let Fox see that she couldn't hold back her emotional expressions any longer. She had never even kissed a man before, or done anything close to what she had just done to him. It felt extremely weird and awkward to her to be doing it. The last thing she needed was for Fox to see her smiling and possibly giggling like a school girl. Thankfully he didn't seem to notice from what she could tell as she went back to punching the bag.
After a moment Fox finally responded to her, and he sounded to be confused by the tone of his voice. "Uh, alright, I'll be leaving you alone then. If you need me for anything just call the bridge."
"I will, take care Fox."
"You too Diana."
Diana went back to punching the bag as Fox exited the room. Her blows lacked the strength she was previously throwing before Fox stepped into the room. She couldn't quite put her fingers on why but she suspected kissing his cheek might've played a role, though that seemed a little too obvious and insignificant. It didn't seem like her usual self to let something romantic affect her combat effectiveness. But it certainly made it difficult for Diana to properly concentrate on throwing a decent punch. She couldn't get Fox out of her mind or what he'll do about it. Either way, Diana was just happy for it to be out in the open, though curiosity was a minor reason.
Huh, I think I got his attention. Diana thought as she threw another half-assed punch.

Great Fox, Fara's room
Fara looked up from her data pad to hear the door to her workroom open. She turned her head from her busy work, mostly filling out reports of what happened on Fichina, to see Fox enter. A smile formed on her face as soon as she saw him but nearly disappeared when she noticed his confused and depressed expression. What confused her was Fox also seemed to be excited about something, almost as if he had just seen a naked woman. It was enough to get Fara to set her data pad down on the table and turn to Fox who just stood there in the middle of the room looking around as if his was searching for her marbles.
"Fox, you look distracted, something wrong? You know, besides Andross escaping."
Fox turned and looked Fara only to freeze on the spot when he saw her seated in the chair. His jaw dropped nearly to the floor as he gasped, almost making Fara laugh. It was Fox stunned expression that reminded Fara that she was very under dressed for situation. The only clothing she had on was a red bath robe and under that a black bra and underwear. She had her rob subconsciously slightly undone to where Fox had a pretty amazing view, even though he'd seen more of her before. The look on Fox's face told her everything she needed to know and it took a lot for her to remain her usually stoic self with him starring at her.
"Uh, Fara, why are you dressed like that?" Fox stuttered.
Fara spun around on the chair towards Fox, positioning herself so that the bath robe hung off her in such a manner that it exposed her barely covered body to him. "Because I want to. Because we're having some down time right now. Because I thought I locked the door. Take your pick."
"Huh, you'd think I know by now not to ask such stupid questions around you."
Fara giggled. "Yeah, but I know you have a bad memory when it comes to me so I don't hold your forgetful nature against you. So I'd recommend you change the subject."
Fox shook his head. "You'd also think I'd be used to your sense of humor." He shrugged as he looked around the room. "So, where's Vixy?"
"She's playing with Daria in the game room. Last time I checked the video feed Vixy was schooling Daria in Mario Kart as Felicity watched. Daria headed there after your meeting with Todd and the others on the bridge."
Fox couldn't help but chuckle. "Never would've imagined the one person who could beat Daria at that game would be so young. Maybe it just comes natural."
"A lot of things come natural for that little kit. At least Daria's amazing with her."
"True, I think Dara is the only woman, besides you, that Vixy doesn't prank or cause trouble for. She'll probably be the same way with Todd."
"More than likely, he was good with kids and it seemed like Vixy and Felicity got along quite well." Fara replied.
"And that's quite scary thinking of the trouble those two will get into together."
"You're forgetting Felicity's feral nature, which is going to take some time to correct."
Fox nodded. "Of course, but having Vixy and the others around should help her. At least she's not a threat to Vixy."
"Oh yeah, I've never seen Vixy get along with someone her age so well. This could be good for everyone, maybe we can finally get Vixy to not so troublesome to her babysitters."
"And hopefully never dropping a bookcase on them again."
Fara couldn't help but smirk. "Oh yeah, I forgot that, I'm surprised Fay and Miyu would agree to watch her after that."
"I think they just like how cute Vixy is."
"Can't say I blame them on bit. Vixy's cuteness manipulates them even easier than she does you."
Fox laughed for but only for a moment before looking as serious and confused as he did the moment he walked into the room. Fara noticed the change immediately having seen it so much from her former lover. Whenever he had that expression there was always something serious working on his mind, though he had the habit of attempting to hiding it from everyone, too bad he was horrible at it. It would always take Fara prying and questioning him to get answer anything.
"Is there something you're not telling me, Fox?" Fara sternly asked.
"Uh, what makes you think that?"
Fara stood up and walked towards Fox, stopping just in front of him, and poked him in the chest. "Fox, we were married, remember. I know all your signs, especially when you're hiding something and when things are stressing you out. So, you'd better start telling me right now or I won't allow you to leave."
"Really, and why would you do that?"
"Because the team needs a leader with a clear head. So, get to talking so we can get that."
Fox looked at Fara for a moment seemingly unsure how to respond to her before finally replying. "Do I have a choice in the matter?"
"I think the answer to that should be obvious."
Fox shook his head as he made his way to the nearest chair and sat down. Fara smiled, having won another dispute against her lover, making her undefeated against him, made her way to a nearby chair and sat down beside him.
"Well . . . Fara, as much as you think I'm anxious and nervous over Andross I'm not. It's Krystal and Diana acting . . . strangely, that's got me confused to say the least."
"Uh, how have Krystal and Diana been acting strange?"
"Well, earlier I went into the kitchen to find Krystal already there eating a sandwich. We had a normal conversation but it ended a bit . . . well, awkward in my opinion." Fox replied seeming to be a little nervous.
"And how is that?"
"Well, she seemed to straight up ask if I wanted to mate with her."
A soft growl escaped Fara's throat as she whispered to herself. "That damn bitch of a vixen."
"At least that's what it seemed like to me. But Krystal did say that she just wanted to put out option out in open, as if she wanted to make it obvious how she felt about me. She was being pretty dang direct."
"When is she not being direct?"
"Uh, I'm not sure what you mean by that." Fox replied then looked down at the ground. "But it's Diana who's really got me confused."
"What did she do? Does she blame you for Andross' escape?"
"No, that was my biggest concern too. I walked into the workout room to find her there working her out on a punching bag. That made me more than a little nervous to approach her. And it took some time for her to convince me that she and Torygg are not mad at me."
"I bet it did. But what happened in there?"
Fox sighed at he turned his gaze to Fara. "Uh, a normal conversation till for some reason she kissed me on the cheek."
"She kissed YOU on the cheek?"
"Yes, I thought it was just her being friendly, but the way she did kissed me was suspicious. I swear it was more than a thank you kiss. If I didn't know better I swear she did it because she has feelings for me."
Fara's jaw dropped. "Wait a minute, are you saying you think that Diana has feelings for you? I know that Krystal does, but it's hard for me to imagine Diana liking you beyond as a leader . . . and a sparring partner."
"Felt like more a punching bag."
"I saw the video, punching bag is an understatement."
"YOU SAW THE VIDEO? Wait, there's a video of the fight?" Fox exclaimed.
"Oh yeah, Daria recorded the whole thing and sent it to me, Shelby, and a few others. We had a video chat of the hilarity watching Diana toss you around like a rag doll."
"DAMN that vixen."
"Hate her if you want, it was still absolutely hilarious."
Fox sighed. "Of course you'd say that, you weren't the one getting thrown around. Still just boggles my mind that Diana could potentially be in love with me. She doesn't seem like the kind of woman to fall for guys like me. And what did you mean earlier by what you said about Krystal being direct?"
Fara smirked as she patted Fox on the shoulder. "Dang Fox, you are just as oblivious as ever?"
"Fara, that's not helping my confidence."
"It's not supposed to. Have you not really noticed how direct with you Krystal has been?"
"How could I, there's been a lot of my plate since I've met her." Fox replied.
"Oh yeah, you've had to deal with the possibility of Andross being back ever since the Saurian incident. I often forget you have a one track mind. Makes sense now why you haven't noticed. Being a telepath, Krystal probably saw that too and thought she has to be more to be very direct to get your attention with everything going on in that small mind of yours."
Fox shook his head with a smirk. "Dang Fara, you sure have a way of playfully insulting me."
"Years of practice." Fara said with a playful shrug. "Though I'm not sure what surprises me more; Krystal flat out offering mating, if you can call it that, or Diana potentially having feelings for you."
"I wouldn't say she offered it, just did to make her feelings obvious. With Diana I would almost say she was just showing her appreciation for everything I've done for her."
"Uh, a woman showing appreciation, unless she's a slut, doesn't show appreciation with a kiss the way you described it. I'll have to look at the footage for a clear answer?"
"FOOTAGE?" Fox exclaimed.
"Yeah, I have access to all the recorded footage on this ship. I can look through it and see what happened between you and Diana . . . and Krystal. And after we're done here I probably will."
"Uh, that definitely doesn't make me feel better."
"Oh I know, I'm just doing it out of curiosity. If what you told me is true than you probably got nothing to worry about." Fara replied with a slight smile. "But, there's still the issue of how you're going to handle all of this."
"If I'm going to be honest, I have no idea. I know there are guys who would kill to be in my position . . ."
"Falco being one of them."
"Oh definitely, but he's a lady's man, I'm not. So I got no idea what I'm going to do." Fox replied with a loud sigh and he looked down at the ground depressed.
If it wasn't for the fact that Fara was jealous of the other she would feel sorry for Fox in his current confused condition. Though deep down she never liked seeing him like that and wanted to do something to help, but mostly to get his attention back on her. As Fara looked at Fox she couldn't help but remember what Sergeant Zathora Jackson told her prior to her leaving Space Dynamics about her and Fox. Though it was a tense time Fara remembered her saying "You need to make yourself known to Fox, remind him of why you fell in love. Be sexy, be fun, do what it takes it remind him of your presence." Ever since then Zathora's saying had been at the back of her mind, wondering if it was indeed the right thing to do. But hearing straight from Fox what Krystal and Diana attempted certainly brought those words to the forefront of her mind. Fara knew she needed to act right then and there and against her instincts she decided it was the best time to get his attention.
Fara lightly touched Fox's chin, making him turn his head towards her as she looked at him and slightly undid her bath robe, exposing her near naked body to him, all the while giving him a seductive gaze. "Just remember Fox, if you need to talk about anything I'm here. My door is ALWAYS open to you."
Fox looked at Fara with a stunned expression that gave off a confused but also turned on vibe. She could almost feel his eyes wandering all over her body just like the old days when they were married. She watched his eyes travel all across her bare fur, particularly her well-toned stomach that she worked hard to keep after Vixy's birth. She did her best to remain emotionless when his eyes stopped at her chest that were covered by her bra. Fara knew he wanted to rip it off and pounce on her, she didn't even need to look at his face to confirm that. Clearly the male hadn't lost the attraction he felt for her despite their divorce. However, much to Fara's surprise, after starring at her for several moments, Fox sighed and took a step back.
Fox looked at Fara with a depressed expression that told her everything she needed to know. "Hm, I'll definitely take you up on that offer sometime, but I'm a little busy right now with everything going on. So, unfortunately, for the moment I'll have to get a rain check. Maybe some other time I'll take you up on your offer."
Fara crossed her arms under her bosom and gave Fox a serious look, though it felt pointless to her knowing she didn't have the breasts that Krystal and Diana had, if anything hers felt small compared to them. "Alright, you sure you're not just saying that so I won't suspect you're sneaking off to flirt with Krystal. You're free to do what you want but I'm just curious."
"Sounds more like jealously to me."
"And if it is?"
"Uh, . . . I will . . . uh." Fox stuttered as best he could as he seemingly tried to find the best answer.
Fara remained as calm as possible though on the inside it felt like she was dying from laughter. The only time she saw Fox more flustered was the night he and Fara lost their virginities together. It was the night after the two Andross clones attacked Papetoon, and one of them destroyed the other. A little before that was when Fox and Fara's relationship, combine that with adrenaline from the battle and they exploded that night. Fara still remembers that night fondly. Seeing Fox with the same expression as that night, right after she pounced on him in the hideout, brought back a lot of good and VERY fun memories.
"You know what Fox, you don't have to answer that. Dealing with women is still your best area, if anything it's your worst. This situation you've found yourself in, with three gorgeous women wanting your attention, is definitely not something that should work in your favor."
Fox looked at Fara for a moment with the usually "I'm confused and stupid" look she had grown accustomed to before replying. "Uh, Fara, has anyone told you that you overanalyze just about every situation?"
"Hm, let me think. Uh, you have exactly thirty-three times, my parents once a week for the past twenty years, more than a few of my employees, and nearly every instructor I've ever had. You have got to come up with a better response than that."
"Oh ha ha, very funny. But seriously, I'm not going to go flirt with Krystal or Diana. I really do have a lot of work on my plate and everyone seems to need my help or want to talk after what happened on Fichina."
Fara suddenly grinned and patted Fox on the shoulder. "Oh I know, I'm just giving you a hard time."
"Nice to see you haven't changed since our marriage." Fox sighed as he shook his head. "I really do have to go Fara, I'd love to talk more with you but I just don't have the time."
"That's fine, after what happened I'm actually surprised you found the time to visit me. Just go and do what you need to. And if you need any help just ask."
"I definitely, thanks Fara, it's always nice to talk to you." Fox replied then leaned in and hugged Fara quickly, then turned around and left the room.
Fara remained smiling till Fox was out of the room. As soon as he was gone she let out a loud sigh and collapsed, frustrated, onto the bed. She wanted to throw her computer at the next woman that stepped into her room, as long as it wasn't Vixy. Instead, she just laid in the bed for what seemed like forever, feeling like an idiot still wearing just the robe and lingerie.
Damn it, so close to having it. If it wasn't for that stupid monkey we'd be shaking this bed right now and he'd be mine again.

Space just outside the Great Fox
Zathora couldn't help but grin as she looked out through the window of the Great Fox. Floating out in space, just like the last time, she had observed everything that Fox had gone through since arriving back on the Great Fox. It made her smile to see Fara taking her advice seriously, just not with the best timing. At least she seemed to know what she was doing to seduce him, but so did Krystal who had an even better body while Diana seemed to be more direct. It was quite comical to Zathora to watch the three women in their attempts to get Fox's attention.
"What are you thinking about Zat?" Argnol asked from beside Zathora.
Zathora let out a soft smirk as she glanced at Argnol. He was floating right beside her, with as big of a silly expression as she had on. She enjoyed it when he called her by the pet name he came up for her thousands of years ago. As long as he didn't say it when they were in public, especially where mortals could hear it, she was fine being called by that name.
Zathora sighed as she looked back through the window at Fara. "That things are a bit mixed for the moment."
"Mixed?"
"Yeah, sure Fox and Daria have their brother back, and Fox is getting advances from three gorgeous women, but you weigh that against Andross escaping and all that probably feels insignificant to everyone on board."
"Hm, I see what you mean. Andross escaping is bound to cause panic all across the Lylat System, and that's a best case scenario." Argnol replied.
"You're not wrong about that, Andross is the biggest threat to the Lylat System since the Krazoa's arch enemies. But it's so much more than that. Once word gets out that Andross is still alive will have repercussions everywhere, on all sides."
"Hm, you're thinking the Cornerian public will probably panic, thinking that a second Lylat War is on the way while the ones who were loyal to Andross will flock back to him once word gets out?"
"Pretty much, I don't expect very little beyond chaos."
"Uh, you think that Ezekiel could have played a role in this somehow?"
Zathora growled to herself at the mention of Ezekiel's name. "There's no doubt in my mind that he did, his hand is in just about everything. He's been nothing but a headache for me since the beginning of time. But that's not my concern at the moment on this issue, giving Star Fox what little help I'm allowed to is."
"Huh, I imagine that's not a lot at the moment."
"You're right, it's not. The only good thing Star Fox has going their way right now with the Andross situation is that he has no idea what his plan is. But that's not much of an advantage."
"Really, how so?"
"To put it simply, because Andross just being alive is enough to cause issues on . . . well everything and everyone. Even though he's been lying to his loyalists that he has a plan, a majority should still support him. But if that secret were to get out it could give the Cornerians the morale boost and time they need to act while Andross loses at least some support. Even die hard loyalists have difficulty remaining loyal to a person once they find out they've been lied to." Zathora explained.
"But that secret has to get out first, and Andross is certainly not going to reveal that. The only other person that knew, the Colonel that Diana mowed down, is dead."
"Actually, if you remember, Todd was eavesdropping on their conversation, so he knows the truth. He's definitely not going to let that secret go to waste."
"That's because you trained him well." Argnol replied.
"Of course, it just took him longer than most to figure out what I was, or at least determine I wasn't a mortal when I was training him."
"Maybe because he was too busy flirting with ya."
Zathora let out a loud but playful giggle. "Of course, he was a teenager, and you know how teenagers are. It took me a while to smack some sense into him. Needless to say, I'm glad how he turned out."
"Of course, you foresaw his usefulness a LONG time ago and sought to train him to the fullest extent a mortal can be trained so he could survive to be useful."
"You just now figured that out?"
"Of course not, I knew there was a reason when you were training him, you never do anything without a reason." Argnol answered with a chuckle. "At least now we know what it was."
"Correct, though things didn't wrap up as well as I had hoped when I started training him. Oh, well, doesn't really matter now. At least the McCloud family is back together, though even there I noticed a problem or two."
"Of course you do, but which are you referring to, Todd's situation with Cara and Miyu or Fox having three women wanting him?"
Zathora shook her head. "Both, actually, though neither are good situations. Thankfully, both are new problems so there's time to fix and correct them."
"You referring to the situations just becoming obvious to the two oblivious brothers?"
Zathora began laughing so hard she nearly doubled over. "I think oblivious is an understatement, those two definitely are not the best when it comes to their emotions with women. Heck, even you were better when we met."
Argnol chuckled as he wrapped his arm around Zathora. "And yet I still got you to marry me."
"Uh, I'm the one who proposed to you, and you nearly wet your pants with excitement."
Argnol rolled his eyes. "Thanks for bringing that up."
"Any time my love." Zathora replied, quickly kissing Argnol's cheek before turning back towards the Great Fox. "Hard to say which one of the McCloud brothers has it worse."
"I would almost say Todd, given he's back with Cara and his daughter but Miyu making her emotions towards him not exactly subtle is probably not the best scenario."
"I agree, would be nice if Miyu wasn't being such a jealous feline about her emotions. I do NOT see this ending well." Argnol replied as he shook his head.
"It might, the McClouds somehow have amazing luck when it comes to women."
"Oh definitely, just look at what's happened with Fox. Despite everything bad that's happen Fox has three gorgeous women seeking his attention."
"Ha, as usually you're right on point." Zathora couldn't help but smirk as she turned and looked at Argnol with a serious expression. "I know how what you're thinking Arg. You can't help but see Fox as a very lucky guy."
Zathora remained emotionless as she watched Argnol momentarily freak out. It was adorable to see the big guy panic a little bit. But it was only a moment once he seemed to realize she was teasing him.
Argnol crossed his arms and glared sarcastically at Zathora. "Oh ha ha very funny Zat. You know that you are the only one for me."
"Oh I know, but that doesn't mean you can't admit your jealous. Pretty much every guy dreams of having multiple women . . . even you at some point."
"Uh, are you going to kill me if I answer yes?"
Zathora playfully giggled as she shook her head. "Don't worry Arg, I'm not holding it against you. As long as you don't act on those urges I won't erase you."
"Oh that makes me feel so much better." Argnol replied in a sarcastic tone. "And yes, I can't help but be jealous of Fox, BUT, I got you so I'd say I have it much better, no woman in the multiverse can top you."
"Huh, that's the best answer you've given me in a thousand years."
"I can give smart answers from time to time." Argnol replied with a smirk. "I wouldn't say he's that lucky either. This could easily lead to his death if he's not careful."
"You referring to him making a mistake with the women and they responding by taking him out, or denying him mating opportunities?"
"Oh yeah, if he plays this wrong then he could easily lose all three."
"Hm, you got a point there. But, I think Fox is too stupid and shy to really notice his opportunities. Most likely the women will be the ones doing most of the work." Zathora responded.
"You're not wrong, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm curious to see who Fox will choose. You know don't you?"
"I have a general idea but I'm not going to say."
"After being with you for so long I guess I shouldn't expect a different answer." Argnol chuckled as he shook his head. "So, is everything going as you planned or saw?"
Zathora sighed as she looked back through the window to see Fara staring at a photo of her and Fox. She didn't need to be a psychiatrist to know what Fara was feeling, the jealously and desperation on her face was pretty evident no matter how well she hid it. Even though Zathora knew that Fara was acting on the advice she gave her shortly before the meeting on the Saurian Crisis, it was obvious she had her work cut out for her against Krystal, and possibly Diana.
"You know how my visions are, often unclear on specific details. There's a lot more I need to observe before I'm certain of how things will go." Zathora replied then turned towards Argnol. "I will say this, Fox has his work could for him, both in the upcoming war and choosing a mate. AND, this is only the beginning."
To be continued.
So, everyone knows that Andross is alive and well but not where he is or what he'll do next. This definitely cannot be good for the Lylat System. Meanwhile Fox is beginning to suspect that there are multiple women competing for his attention. Is he Lylat's luckiest guy or will this be the end of him?
I know you were expecting more from the combat scene and I'm sorry if you thought it was lacking. As I said in the beginning author's notes the combat in this section was supposed to be realistic. After two bombing runs on such a small facility, first by Nova bombs and the second laser cannons, I don't think realistically there'd be much left. That's why through Diana's perspective I wrote it out the way I did.
Please leave a review. I honestly want to know what you think of the story and how I can improve it.
Hope that you are enjoying the story so far. The next chapter will be uploaded as soon as possible. I do apologize for this chapter being so long, hopefully the rest will not as long as this one.
This is John Storm signing off. Star Frosty ya'll.
