Wednesday morning Walter was downstairs at his desk coding on a Scorpion project for Galvastan Electrical while Paige worked on updating client statuses. Happy was busy working on a new braking mechanism for Louvre Conveyor systems while Toby sat reading on the couch. Toby kept looked over at Walter, some Harvard trained behaviorists might describe it almost predatorily. Walter noted that Sylvester was strangely absent but no one else seemed concerned so he had dismissed his thoughts and focused on the project.

Cabe and Sean had gone out to pick up Ralph from school along with a few things that Louise wanted while Louise focused on preparing the dishes for Thanksgiving. She refused Paige's offer to assist her. It had been several years since the last time she cooked a full family meal and she was enjoying the opportunity. She did promise if she needed any help she would call for Paige.

Walter smiled as he told the complier to compile the source code. He watched as the screen started scrolling, linking libraries and different functions into a new patch file. He looked over at Paige, "I've finished the coding. It's compiling now. As soon as it is done I'll begin running it on the mock server to ensure the glitch is fixed."

Paige looked at Walter with a smiled, "Sly estimated at least three days to find the glitch."

Walter nodded, "I had hunch where it was hidden. It was just a simple inversion error."

Paige grinned, "Simple for you perhaps."

Toby looked up, "Hey, if you are done then maybe we can finish your session from yesterday Walt."

Walter sighed, "I guess I should have just pretended I was still working on it."

Paige smiled as she looked back from Toby to Walter, "Well its up to you Walter. These sessions are not required by Scorpion or Homeland. But with the exception of yesterday they have seemed beneficial. Personally I am happy with where we are. If you don't think you can benefit from them anymore I'm fine with you stopping them."

Walter sighed, "I think over all they have helped. Fine, as soon as I start the mock server." Walter surrendered.

Paige blew him a kiss, "Oh, I did speak with Dr. Rizzuto's office and he has an opening on next Tuesday if you are still interested in couples counseling." She smiled as she saw Walter nod and she went back to work.

The compiler got done and Walter ran the patch updating the client's software on the mock server and then started the server running so they could test the software. He looked up and saw Toby watching him and he sighed and stood up, "Fine, let's get this over with Toby."

Toby jumped up, "Shall we resume walking around the Garage?"

Walter shrugged, "Fine with me."

Toby waited until they made a complete pass around the Garage but when Walter hadn't said anything he started. "Okay, so shall we try and discuss what interrupted our session yesterday?"

Walter looked at him, "If you want."

"What makes you say I gave you contradicting advice?" Toby asked as he studied Walter's face.

Walter looked up, "Because, Paige talked in her sleep the other night and relived what happened in the loft after I returned to the Garage following my stay at the hospital after the rocket launch."

Toby looked puzzled as he tried to remember what was said.

"You told Paige to quit pressing me on what I remembered from the rocket." Walter reminded him.

Toby nodded, "That's true. I was worried it would do more harm than good."

Walter stopped and stared at him, "Seriously? That's your answer? You know, I might have gone along with Happy's decision not to tell you I was her husband, but at the end of the day, every day, you knew she still loved you. You got to live that she chose to share her life with you regardless to you being mad not knowing who her husband was. And you knew all of that."

"What a moment Walter," Toby started.

"No, damn it Toby, you told Paige that bringing up what happened in the rocket would hurt me more than when I hit the water. Do you know how messed up that was? If she had told me that day at the Mars habitat I would have fired your ass on the spot."

"You knew how I felt. You knew I had confessed my love to Paige finally. And you knew she confessed her love to me. But you wanted me kept in the dark so that every single day I had to watch the woman I love, be in a relationship with a man that I didn't know she didn't love. I didn't know she loved me but she was forced by you to act like she didn't love me. To act like she didn't know I loved her and that she didn't confess her love for me. I had to watch her walk out of the Garage at the end of the day with him, every single day."

"So by hiding all of it when it all finally came back to me I blamed her. I was humiliated by you, not her. It was entirely your fault. But of course I didn't know that then, and my messed up EQ led me to fire the woman I love and send her away. You didn't even bother to try and intervene, to explain it was your fault. You had what you wanted to hell with me and what I needed. I even got told to stop acting like a hurt school boy by Cabe over it. But that is exactly what I was, how was it Paige described me six months ago, as a fifteen year old emotionally?"

"Even though Paige told me yesterday that she didn't think her relationship with Timothy would have lasted much longer, I calculated a seventy four point eight percent chance if Timothy hadn't of extended his time overseas she would still be in a relationship with him."

Walter huffed as he began walking again. "And then you walked out on me anyway when Paige and Sylvester left me. Some friend you were."

Walter's voice had been so loud Happy had stopped and looked over to see what was going on, Paige turned around in her chair in disbelief and Louise came down from upstairs to see what happened.

Toby finally recovered and ran to catch up with Walter, "Okay, okay, hold on Walt."

Walter stopped short of the kitchen and looked back at him as he demanded, "What?"

"You made a lot of excellent points, I did screw up and I was a crappy friend. Is that what you want to hear from me?" Toby asked as he adjusted his hat.

Walter stared at him, "No. I want you to stay out the hell out of my life, especially as it pertains to Paige."

Walter turned and continued to walk over to his desk when he stopped and spun around, "And how about when Paige returned for your wedding that you had the nerve to make her feel bad for protecting herself emotionally by not coming around after I fired her. You caused the whole situation but your egotistical, narcissistic ass couldn't even admit it and you pushed the blame off on her. You really piss me off." Walter spun back around and sat down as he looked at the progress of the remote server.

Paige swallowed as she stood up and pulled her chair over to Walter's desk and sat down, "Walter?"

Walter looked up and smiled, "I love you Paige. I'm not mad or upset with you."

Paige looked into his eyes, "Are you sure? There was a lot of anger in your voice."

Walter nodded, "I'm only mad at Toby, with what he did. But if he stays in his lane and away from you and I, I'll be fine."

Paige nodded, "Is there anything I or we can do to help you with this?"

Walter shook his head as he took her hand, "I don't think so Paige. Maybe over time I'll get over what Toby did. But as of right now, the only thing I care about is my family. That's you, Ralph, Cabe and my parents. And of course with trying to hold onto my new found emotions."

Toby stood in the kitchen looking at Walter and Paige as they sat talking and then saw Louise move over and start talking with them.

Happy stepped up and tugged on his arm, "You okay?"

Toby looked over and nodded, "I think so."

"Was he wrong?" Happy asked as she looked into Toby's eyes.

Toby adjusted his hat, "Well technically no. I wouldn't go as far as to assign what he seemed to hint at to my actions. I honestly thought it would hurt him more if she had continued to try and pick at his memory loss."

Happy shook her head, "I really can't believe you did that. You know, I bet on some level he knew something hinkey went on behind his back with you and that is why he wasn't listening to you or me about that damn lecture. He probably figured you had somehow convinced me to support your position and as far as he was concerned you were just a lying gas bag."

"Ouch, don't hold back, why don't you tell me how you really feel about me?" Toby told her.

Happy reached up and squeezed his nose.

"Damn it Happy." Toby exclaimed as he grabbed his nose.

"Are you sure you are okay Walter?" Louise asked as she held onto Paige's shoulders. "That really sounded awful."

Walter smiled as he reached up and patted her hand, "Yea, I'm fine. Do you need any help in the kitchen?"

Paige smiled as she watched Louise shake her head and roll her eyes, "Fine, be that way." She looked at Paige, "Let me know when he decides to be honest."

Paige laughed and watched as Louise went back to the stairs and started climbing them.

That evening as Walter was rubbing Paige's back in bed she looked back, "Walter. Are you sure you aren't still mad about anything with me?"

Walter slowed his movements as he looked puzzled at her through the mirror on the closet door. "Yes, I am sure. Why, don't you believe me?"

Paige shrugged, it isn't that I don't believe you, it was just the anger in your voice. I mean, I know you said it was about Toby, but part of me can't help but wonder. And I am just so happy with you, with us. I don't want anything bubbling under the surface."

Walter smiled and bent over and kissed her ear tenderly. "I was serious about what I said to Toby. Had you been able to tell me that night that Toby told you not to talk to me about what happened between us in the rocket I never would have fired you. You were misled. You thought you were doing the right thing for me, for Scorpion. But part of me believes Toby did it for another reason."

"Maybe he thought it was for best, but I don't see how. If you hadn't told me you loved me, if he didn't know you loved me, maybe I could excuse it. But he knew and he knew what that would mean to me. He already knew how badly your relationship with Timothy was affecting me. How he could think the other was better is beyond me."

Paige nodded, "I know you've had some outbursts right at the start about what I said to you in the Garage when I broke up with you, but is there anything about it you want to talk about? I just want us to be in a good place."

Walter shook his head, "There isn't anything else about that night or any other thing with you that I am worried or concerned about."

Paige nodded, "Well there is one thing I haven't told you about that I need too. It happened back when we thought you were dead. I had actually forgotten about it until I was downstairs going through my desk taking care of things."

Walter nodded as he pulled her nightgown back down and Paige rolled over to look up at him.

Paige smiled up at him, "When I got it I read it and I threw it in a desk drawer and had just forgotten it. But Tim had written me, he'd heard you had died and he wanted to extend his condolences and hinted at wanting to get together with me when he was back in town. I had no desire to even see him again let alone try and start something up with him. I should have just thrown it away. I didn't write him back or anything."

Walter smiled and bent down and kissed her, "Its okay."

"Well like I said I had forgotten all about it until I found it today. So I wanted to let you know. Also as I reread the letter I saw he said he'd be back sometime this week. I'm just hoping he's heard you are not dead and he just keeps away but in case he doesn't. I'm going to ask Cabe to head him off maybe with the TSA since he'll have to come through the airport." Paige studied Walter's face but other than seeing his jaw tense she didn't see any other signs of anger. "Are you okay with this?"

Walter nodded, "Paige, you said you love me and only want me. While I might not like Timothy that much I'm not going to worry about him as long as he respects you and our relationship."

Paige smiled and pulled on his shirt until he bent down and she kissed him deeply.

Walter got up and walked around the bed and climbed in his side, "By the way, where was Sly today?"

Paige rolled her eyes and huffed, "He's been seeing someone."

Walter frowned, "And you don't like this person if you are huffing?"

Paige nodded as she rolled back to her left side and laid her head on his shoulder. "You fired her."

Walter looked down at her, "Are you serious, Florence?"

Paige nodded, "Apparently they've been seeing each other off and on since the funeral."

Walter caressed her shoulders, "And you didn't tell me because?"

Paige nodded, "I was going too when Sly told me on the phone today. But he asked if I would wait and let him tell you. I told him fine but if you asked me, I'd tell you."

Walter nodded, "Open and honest communication. Though I would have to say this might not fall under that since it is Scorpion business and as your employee I don't really have an expectation of knowing things like that."

Paige tilted her head up, "Hey, that doesn't make a bit of a difference to me. I'm still hoping when you feel able you will take over this headache. Especially as Megan's due date gets here."

Walter smiled, "Well personally, I'm all for shutting down for several months."

Paige smiled, "You know we haven't talked about it since you first got back here. Are you still interested in us finding a new place to live?"

Walter considered that, "Well, not as much, my anxiety is so much better. And I mean this loft is really nice now. Unless we sell off the Garage and find a new place to headquarter in and another place to live as cheaply."

Paige laughed, "Not much chance in that. I got to ask, I know you had some things out with your parents since they've been here but have you worked it all out with them? Is there anything else you need to work on with them? They'll be leaving Friday."

Walter thought about it, "I think I am good. Nothing else has come up and our relationship is better than it has ever been."

Greetings! I wasn't sure I'd have a story today, I was almost half done with this yesterday when I decided I wanted to watch a movie I've been wanting to watch Ip Man 4. Really enjoyed it.

My new commission of artwork was finished and I shared it on Twitter, it was a upper body of Paige as a Bard playing in the Inn when Lord Walter first met her. NovousDraws on Twitter did it, she did a remarkable job! She's going to do another one for me when she gets to it.

To the Adventure! -Tim
