A/N: Here's the date we've been waiting for, so enjoy!

Since this is the first date, Shoji felt be needed to dress casually. He wore an olive t-shit and gray hoodie with dark green shorts and runners. Shoji walked towards the front door of Laura's home. He's nervous, he didn't show it—but he is. He knocks on the door, then later Laura was the one who opened it. She wore a yellow mini sundress and a jean jacket with converse shoes.

"Hey, Mezo." Laura greeted him with a smile.

"Hello, Laura," Shoji greeted back casually, hiding his excitement. "You look nice."

Laura's smile became brighter when Shoji complimented her. "Thanks! Let's go?" She asked. Mezo nodded and held his hand out to her for Laura to grab. Laura puts her hand onto Mezo's.

"So, where do you plan on taking me?" Laura asked.

"Well, I thought that we could go to the mo-" Mezo was interrupted by the sound of Laura's stomach growling. Laura blushes in embarrassment and chuckles nervously.

"Hehe. My bad..." Laura scratches the back of her head.

"We can go eat first," Mezo suggested.

"Anywhere will be fine." Laura chuckles as she holds one of Mezo's many hands.

From a distance, someone was watching them. It was none other than Mina and Toru. They also dragged Uraraka and Tsuyu with them.

"Why are do we have to be here?!" Uraraka whispers loudly at Mina and Toru.

"I wanna see if Laura's date turns out great!" Mina answers quietly for one of the four of them to hear.

"I still think we shouldn't be spying like this, ribbit." Tsuyu sighs.

As the four continued following Laura and Mezo, the two arrived at the restaurant. The restaurant was like a centuries-old ryōtei, making Laura feel nervous, despite having a wealthy guardian—she is still not used to the luxurious lifestyle. An old lady brought the two to a table. Mezo used one of his many arms to pull out a chair for Laura to sit on. Laura smiled at Mezo as thanks and sat down before Mezo pushed the chair a bit towards the table. Mezo then sits down on the chair across from Laura. The waiter later came to their table and handed them menus. They thanked the man before he walked off.

Laura was looking at the menu. Mezo was as well but made some glances at Laura. I should start a conversation. He thought to himself as he clears his throat. "Umm, Laura?"

"Yes, Shoji-kun?" Laura looks at Mezo.

"Just call me Mezo." He says.

"Are you sure?" Laura asked. Mezo then nodded. She smiled at him and said, "ok, Mezo."

Mezo felt his heart skip a beat. He remembers the first time she called him by his first name was during the obstacle race at the sports festival.

"Any other reasons that made you want to be a hero, Mezo-kun?" Laura asked him.

"Not really. I just wanna help people," Mezo answered simply. "I've been mistaken as the fighting type a few times before because of my large physique."

"You don't like fighting?" She asked.

"I'll fight if I have to. But to be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of violence."

The waiter from before came back. "Ready to order?"

Laura and Mezo both nodded. "Yeah, I'll have the sukiyaki." Laura answers.

"I'll have the salmon sashimi," Mezo says as the waiter nodded before walking off. Mezo looks back at Laura. "What are your reasons for wanting to be a hero?"

"W-Well..." she looked down at the table, the question making her a bit anxious. "I read stories about my father—comic books to be exact," she continues as her voice starts to crack. "Him and the X-Men fighting bad guys and saving lives... I want to do that, but when I experienced fighting bad people first hand, I..."

Before Laura could continue, Mezo stops her. "You don't have to talk about it if it bothers you."

Laura smiled at Mezo before turning away from him. "In summary: I wanna be a hero that doesn't have to kill," she turns back to him again. "Because real heroes never kill."

Mezo let out a soft, yet comforting chuckle for only Laura to hear. "Have any hobbies?" He asked, starting a new conversation.

"I do a lot of gymnastics stuff at home," Laura answered. "Oh! Mariko-san got me into yoga recently."

"Yoga?" Mezo asked as Laura nodded her head as a response. The image of Laura in a yoga outfit came into his mind before he immediately shakes his head to get the image out. This was strange and new to him. Never has he ever had such inappropriate thoughts before.

This must be what Mineta thinks about... Mezo thought to himself. He glanced at Laura, realizing how pretty she is up close.

"What about you?" Laura asked, tilting her head a bit at him.

"Well, I—" Mezo was later interrupted by the waiter coming back to the table with their food.

"Enjoy." The waiter said, putting the food on their table before walking away.

The two thanked the waiter before grabbing their chopsticks to start eating.

Somewhere in the restaurant, Ashido, Toru, Uraraka, and Tsuyu were spying on Laura and Mezo. All four of them wearing the generic hat and sunglasses that people use in movies to disguise themselves.

"This is wrong," said Uraraka. "We shouldn't be doing this."

Mina pouts at the gravity girl. "But I wanna see how this goes."

"Me too!" Toru said quietly.

Tsuyu sighed at the two. "Ochako-san is right, let's just go," she gets up from the chair she sat on. "We can always ask Laura how it went tomorrow. Ribbit."

"Let's let them have their date in peace." Uraraka smiles as she gets up from her seat as well.

"Fine~," Ashido does the same. "Maybe you can also ask Laura for some romance tips to use on Deku."

Uraraka's face immediately turns bright red. "M-Mina!" She shouted. Realizing how loud she was, Uraraka and the others quickly duck behind cover.

"Huh?" Laura looked at the direction where she heard Uraraka's voice.

Shoji saw Laura staring at the direction of the voice. "You heard something too?"

"Yeah..." Laura answered. "Thought I heard Ochako."

"It did sound like her... but I don't think I've heard her be that loud before."

Laura shrugged it off and looked back at Shoji. "Guess it's my imagination," she chuckled, waving it off. "You said you wanted to go somewhere? Before my stomach interrupted you."

Shoji nods as a response to Laura. "I was thinking of taking you to the movie theatre."

"Really?" She asked with a smile. "Great! Know what movie we'll be watching?"

While the two continued talking, Ashido, Hagakure, Tsuyu, and Uraraka snuck out of the restaurant.

Flashback

"Take these, Shoji-kun!" Ashido gave him two movie tickets. Shoji took the two tickets and looked at them before looking at Ashido.

"What movie is this?" He asked.

"It's a great romance movie. It's perfect!" She gave a thumbs-up to Shoji.

"Romance?" Shoji asked. "So, what am I supposed to do?"

"You know, put your arm around her shoulders during a romantic scene, accidentally touch her hand when you both attempt to get some popcorn," Ashido explained. "Anything that'll make that girl's heart skip a beat!

"These sound like cliches," Shoji sighed. "That can't possibly work in real life."

"It'll work, trust me!"

End of Flashback

After arriving at the movie theatre, they went into one of the cinemas. When Laura and Shoji found seats for them to sit on, Laura turns to Shoji.

"What was the movie called again?" She asked, forgetting the title.

"I believe it was Kiiroi Tsuki no Shita," Shoji answered.

"Under the yellow moon..." Laura muttered to herself. "A romance film?"

"Yes."

Later, the movie started—another anime film from CoMix Wave Films. While Laura and Shoji were focused on the film, they were being watched again, but not by the girls this time.

I'm the very back row of the cinema: Bakugo, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero were watching the two in secret.

"This is the stupidest shit you bastards have ever done." Spat Bakugo.

Sero turned to Bakugo and shushed him. "Quiet! You didn't have to come!"

"This may get out of hand if we get caught guys," Kirishima said to them. "Laura-san would be upset if she finds us spying on them."

"Man, I'm jealous..." Kaminari sighs to himself. "How does Shoji score with a gal like Laura?"

"Shut up, dunce-face," Bakugo growled at Kaminari before looking at Laura and Shoji.

As Shoji starts to sneak his arm over Laura's shoulder, Kirishima notices it.

"Never thought of Shoji having that dude to him," Kirishima chuckled softly and turned to Bakugo. "Right, Baku-"

Bakugo was grinding his teeth violently like a chainsaw whirring out of control.

"B-Bakugo?!"

"Hey!" The four boys' attention turned to an old American man with white hair and a mustache, and he also wore aviator sunglasses. "Can you kids keep it down? I'm trying to watch a movie here."

"S-Sorry, sir." Kirishima bowed his head in apology to the older man.

The older man turned to a Japanese man with shoulder-length brown hair sitting next to him. "So this is the anime I keep hearing about, Horikoshi-san?"

The Japanese man nodded. "It is, Mr. Stan Lee."

Laura felt Shoji's arm around her shoulder as her cheeks flushed a bit. She turns to look up at him. His eyes were on the movie screen. She couldn't tell the expression he had because of his mask.

"M-Mezo-kun."

Shoji turned to look at Laura. Her blushed face catching him off guard as he quickly takes his arm off of her before resting it on the armrest of the seat. His blushed face was hiding behind his mask. "S-Sorry, Laura..."

"I-It's ok..." Laura slowly puts her hand on Shoji's larger one. "It felt nice."

Laura couldn't tell, but while Shoji kept a calm attitude on the outside, he was screaming happily on the inside. Never has he ever felt such emotions like this before.

Laura and Shoji continued watching the film. Since Bakugo, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero paid for tickets to get into the theatre, they ended up staying until the movie ended.

After the movie was over, Laura and Shoji left the movie theatre. As they were moving away from the theatre, Laura noticed a familiar person with spiky blonde hair before realizing who it was.

"Hey, Bakugo!" Laura shouted. Bakugo and the other three froze.

Kirishima turned around to face Laura and Shoji as Bakugo, Kaminari, and Sero stood frozen in place.

"Hey~, Laura-san!" Kirishima greeted the Hispanic girl awkwardly. "What brings you here?"

"We just finished watching a movie," Shoji answered. "I assume you all did the same?"

"Yes. We. Did!" Kirishima declared, forcing a smile.

Kaminari and Sero looked back at Laura and smiled nervously, waving at her.

Laura smiled back at the two and looked at Bakugo. "Hey, Bakugo."

Bakugo didn't turn around to face her, not even greeting her in return. He only made a tsk sound before walking off.

Kirishima saw this and looked back at Laura and Shoji. "We'll see you later at the training camp!" He waved goodbye to the two before him, Kaminari and Sero ran after Bakugo.

Laura watched them as she giggles to herself. Shoji looked down at Laura, seeing her smile. She had the type of smile that made him feel warm inside. It was a smile he felt the need to protect. He continued staring until she looked up at him.

"Anywhere else you plan on taking me?" Laura asked him.

Shoji shook his head. "It's getting late," he answered. "I'll walk you home."

Laura nodded as they both start walking back toLaura's place.

Later

After walking and talking about heroes and their own interests, they finally arrive at Laura's house. They went up towards the doorstep.

Laura stopped and turned to look up at her tall date. "I really had fun tonight." She said to him with a smile.

Shoji nodded in agreement. "I had fun as well."

They stood at the front door in silence.

C-Crap... is this supposed to be the part where I kiss him goodnight? Laura thought to herself.

Is this supposed to be the part where I kiss her goodnight? Shoji asked himself. Ashido san said I should kiss her at the end of the date, but...

Do people even kiss on the first date?! Laura asks herself. She looks at the mask Shoji is wearing. H-How am I supposed to do it?

"M-Mezo?" Laura asked Shoji, causing him to stop thinking and gave all his attention to her.

"Yes, Laura?" Shoji says, trying to sound as normal as possible.

"Can you crouch down a bit?" Laura requested.

Shoji nods and crouches down until his head was at eye level with her.

Laura stares at Shoji's face as hers blushes deep red. I-I'm sure a kiss on the cheek will...

"M-Mezo?"

"Y-Yes."

"Your mask..." blurted Laura softly. "Why do you wear it?"

The two stared at each other in silence. Laura's face was becoming redder than a tomato.

Crap! Why did I say that?! Laura never wanted an adamantium bullet to shoot her in the head so badly in her life.

Before Shoji could respond, the front door was opened by Mariko, immediately breaking the silence with her voice.

"Oh, hello, Mezo," the Japanese woman smiled at the tall teen. "Thanks for bringing Laura home."

Mezo waved his hand at her nervously. "You're welcome..."

Laura was staring at Mariko, using her piercing glare to tell her guardian to go away. Mariko saw what Laura meant and smirked at her before turning her eyes to Shoji. "I'll leave you two to say your goodbyes." She said before walking away from the door.

Laura sighed and looked up at Shoji, who looked back down at her.

"I'll see you at the training camp," Shoji says to her in a monotone voice.

Laura nodded as a response. "I'll see you then," she went into her home but stopped when she stepped inside. "I had a great time," she turned around and smiled at Shoji. "I'm looking forward to our second date."

Shoji's eyes widened. His mask was hiding his flushed red cheeks. He composed himself to keep his relaxed attitude. "Goodnight, Laura."

"Goodnight, Mezo." Laura closed the door and leaned her back onto it, slowly sliding down against the door until she sat on the ground and covered her flushed face.

Mariko watched Laura with a sly grin. "You're so cute, Laura chan!"

"S-Shut up!" Laura exclaimed in embarrassment.
