The End-Part 1
Years ago
The three young lords were spoiled and dissolute. One day a lady contacted them. She needed someone adventurous to get her someone from Russia. As a reward, she would pay them a fortune. The payment would be the weight of those they would bring, in gold. They had clear instructions which they failed to follow and abused the children they were bringing. They also decided they could make a fortune selling the children's bodies, children could change into cats.
The enchantress, who wasn't what she seemed, had fallen in love with one of the young lords, and they had talked about marrying. She worried he would be killed because of their reckless behavior. And sure enough, they were found by someone, probably a Darcy, and the three Lords were killed. She decided the rich man, Darcy, was indeed at fault and no longer wanted the shifters. She was no longer interested in unlocking their secret; instead, she wanted revenge.
But revenge was never possible because the Darcy and the cats all seemed to die too soon, and it was too difficult to get close to them. So, she sent one of her sisters to marry one of them. The child she would have would be raised to kill all of them; to destroy the Darcy and whatever cats were left.
Her sister was prone to rages and nearly killed the child, George. But at least she brought the child to insert the helpers to do the job. Killing them was no longer enough. She wanted to destroy the Darcy and those they love. One thing she didn't anticipate was love, the child George loved his cousin William Darcy. Her sister poisoned her husband. Her sister, like others, had disobeyed. So her sister was killed by the Darcy. She hoped other sisters spread around would help her find a way to finish them.
The enchantress was thrilled with all the havoc, and pain George had caused. But was dismayed to find out Prince siblings, who had sent her into hiding, were at Pemberley. They were the Darcy and many other cats. Her spy rats had told her of the fearsome dragons, and not one, but several Prince siblings had arrived. The spies told her they had seen a cat that could fly, and much more. That one was with child.
Finally, a break with the child, she could unlock the secret and take revenge on the cats. Not only that, if she could fly, maybe she was also a bird shifter, but she could also conquer them all. But how to infiltrate them? Her missing sister thought the stolen husband could be one. She wished that George wasn't gone. The rats told him that he had been taken away. Which also worried her, what if George remembered meeting her; he knew her other face. Where was George?
It was good that nobody knew who she was; she was worrying for nothing.
George
George opened his eyes. He felt light and happy. He looked around and saw a tall, slender but fit man; George would say a beautiful man. The man wore a multicolor tunic with a wide metal belt, with leggings and, he guessed, boots. His long hair was braided with gems and beads. He wore a circle of lights around his forehead.
"G, how are you? Tell me." The man sounded imperious; he waited while tapping his fingers impatiently.
"Great, I am well. Who are you?" George asked.
"I am your savior. You can call me, hmm, Healer. I want to offer you a job; as feline shifter, you will do well here." Bossy, full of himself, answered.
"I am not a feline. I would like to help, but I am not." George sounded sad. Wherever he was, was amazing. Like nothing he had ever seen before.
"Yes, you are. You were..." Bossy told him about his findings and what he had taken out of him. He also said that William and Georgiana had given their blood so he could be saved.
George's heart filled with gratitude, and also with shame for all he had done. "Who did it; who put that inside me?" George asked, afraid it had been his mother.
"Here," Bossy put his hand on George's head. In front of them, George saw his mother. They saw the day she took him to a friend in Lambton, the baker's wife. The baker's wife's face changed. She was scary looking, the face looked like a rodent's face.
Bossy gasped. "That horrible creature, how do you know her?"
"I just remembered this. The woman cut my hand, then I forgot. My mother said she was her relative," George said.
"We need to go. Let me send a notice to my parents. That monster has destroyed many. She served my parents and stole knowledge from the great halls. She not only killed many with her new knowledge, but also broke many eggs at the dragon nursery. She wanted to destroy my mother, imagine. She escaped, and nobody has been able to find her, until now."
Before George could say a word, they were gone. George couldn't remember where they went before arriving at Pemberley.
At Pemberley, Young and Desi waited, "Our parents told us. Imagine, she has been here all along. Mother is right; our destinies have meshed. Let's get the Darcy." Desi said. She had to smile, looking at Bossy straightening his waistcoat. She had never seen him like this. And, there, he was fixing his braid. He had taken off the gems and beads, less showy. He was probably the best looking of all the males, but they were all perfect. Though her favorites were Tailor and Young.
"So Young, who is the one you found," Bossy asked casually.
"Who says I have?" Young answered.
"Is it Elizabeth? But she is married." Bossy tried again.
"Is Elizabeth what, "Darcy asked. He was holding Lizzie's hand when he saw George.
George went to him, "I am like you. I feel different, Mr. Healer has something to tell you." William hugged him; George looked changed.
Desi came with the uncles and with Richard, "Wait," she moved her hand, and smoke went around them.
"Miss Elizabeth, my parents are worried. You are pregnant, and one who is near will take your children to steal their essence. She has done this before. She was a helper, a rodent-like being. She hates felines and has been trying to be like them, to destroy them. They are afraid she will know your nature or that perhaps, she already knows."
"But how can she do it?" Lizzie asked, leaning against William. He wrapped his arm around her waist, lovingly, remembering the last hours together. He wanted to be back in their bed. Desi noticed how Bossy closed his eyes. This was bad. She knew what was happening. She wasn't so sure that Bossy's timing was right.
"Sir, Mr. Healer, I asked," Lizzie insisted.
Bossy's eyes look glazed; Young hit his forehead. His parents had told Bossy to stay away. He might ruin it for all of them. He could see him behaving recklessly. "Miss Elizabeth. It is best not to discuss it. I don't want you upset."
Young Prince's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe his ears. Bossy was considerate. His parents would see the memory.
"Oh dear, she will hurt my babies; of course, their essence is their life. No, no, she won't do such a thing. I won't allow her, let's go." Lizzie turned into the griffin.
"Magnificent," they all said. Lizzie was one angry beast, Zoo barked, turning into a small dragon, ready to follow her mommy. Desi whistled for Baby, who jumped on top of Lizzie's back, ready to stop her.
"Lizzie, you stay," William, his uncles, and Richard said at once.
Bossy interjected, "You all stay. She has hurt many and knows about you. If we come unannounced, it will be best. But a Hunter will be great since we cannot take a Hunter form. Like before, she will call armies of nasty rodents. The very reason she escaped last time since we dislike those rodents; their bite makes us ill. But we don't know why it is so, and I am trying to find out. But I am digressing; it runs in the family. Excuse me, Miss Elizabeth, but you must stay. I couldn't bear if something happened to such a gracious and beautiful lady. I worry." Bossy was mesmerized, looking at her. Carrying her babies became her.
Young coughed. And Bossy shook his head to clear it, "We will come as cats, we can kill many, but they are deathly afraid of Hunters; she must not know about the Hunters." Bossy explained. Richard had gone to call the Hurst. Reggie wanted to go, he cared for Lizzie, but his cousins did as well. They all wanted to go.
"Two at the most," Young suggested," she will be suspicious. George stays here, she might send her army here. Everyone should be ready to fight. Where is Hope? I need her."
Hope peeked out William's pocket, "No, Zoom, and I stay here. Baby is the best fighter. You will take me back; no, I stay here."
Young laughed, agreeing. But Zoom wanted to help Young and was going.
When Lizzie kept going, William changed into his cat and jumped on her, bringing her down softly. Hope turned bigger and sat on Lizzie's tail while they left riding on the dragons.
When they left, William changed back. "Why did you stop me? She wants to kill my babies."
"Because I love you," William answered and held her.
George went outside to help patrol the house.
All is well.
It wasn't long before they were back. They had captured the one passing for the baker's wife. She had several jars with miniature people in them. Bossy was bringing them back to his parents. They killed all her rodent army, and the enchantress was sent to the Farm. Someone had come to pick her up.
" I went in with Albert, Zoom, and Baby, and complimented her. She has seen us many times before and suspected nothing. We could smell her army approaching," Hurst told them. He told them how they changed into the hunters. She started screaming when she saw the Prince siblings. But she wasn't ready and was finally caught.
"May we see the jars?" Darcy asked.
"The ones inside the jars are so small, it might be difficult to see who they are. I am not sure if they are alive or dead. She wouldn't say," Desi told them. "It is possible they are frozen, maybe she substituted people in the jars with her brethren; one of them looks like a younger baker woman. We will see."
"Miss Elizabeth, your firstborn, will be here soon. Because of your nature, babies are developing faster than usual. I will be here soon. G, who you know as George, wants to work with me. I take my leave," Bossy was in front of Elizabeth and kissed her hand.
She stood grinning with her hand on her growing belly." Thanks, we will be glad to have you back," Lizzie answered.
Then Bossy went by William and reached, but cursed aloud. "Bad Hope, you bit me. I will tell your mother. She is often at my place."
Hope peeked out Darcy's pocket snarling, said nothing, and went back to hide. Many were laughing, "Bossy, Hope doesn't want to be with you; you know we cannot force them." Young couldn't stop grinning.
Desi patted Bossy, "Dear, it is your fault. Hope was stopping you from taking her against her will; I saw your hand."
Bossy noticed Elizabeth was shaking her head, looking at him, "I won't do it again, Miss Elizabeth." With those words, he disappeared and took George, who has just stepped in.
When Bossy was gone, William took Elizabeth in his arms, "You are safe, all we need to do now is get ready for Caroline's wedding, and then wait for Charlie to get here."
"True, my father should be arriving soon. I hope Mr. Bossy, err, Healer, comes back soon. So much has happened, but of late, a lot of good news. I cannot wait to see what happens next." Lizzie said.
William was thoughtful, "I am not so sure if I will be glad when Mr. Bossy returns, though I want our baby to be safe. I cannot wait to hold Charlie." He kissed her forehead.
Baby jumped on Darcy's shoulder and whispered on his ear. At once, William looked unhappy. He looked at Desi with questioning eyes, but for the first time, she avoided his eyes. Then he looked at Young, who bent to pick up Zoom.
"What did Baby tell you that you look so miserable?" Lizzie asked William when they sat in the drawing-room. There was a celebration. Everyone was happy. Lizzie looked around. Mary sat with her beloved, looking happy. Georgiana and Fergus were playing with the dogs, in their cat form. Georgian was longer sad and looked happy; the ugly past mostly is forgotten.
Caroline, a dear friend, and sister would marry tomorrow, seeing Charlie had erased her sadness. Same with Louisa, who was also pregnant. Charlie would have plenty of friends. Lizzie's mother sat talking to the Darcy twins, happy to be with her child; it made Lizzie full of hope. Once in a while, Lizzie would mourn Charlie, but the baby would move, making it all well. Maybe, William looked gloomy.
"Darling, I asked you, why are you upset?" Elizabeth insisted.
