There have been rumors going around for a few days now and I haven't posted anything because my normal informants were keeping extra quiet since this is very big but I've finally got some of them to talk. It isn't official but you know me and I think I've earned the trust. The rumors are true ladies and gentlemen, the Slaughterhouse Nine is gone. A bit of context before I give you my findings. On Friday, April 8th, the Nine attacked a small town in Jefferson County, Ohio. Following their usual MO, it's reasonable to think they were already there a few days before this. The attack goes off like it always does when the Nine are involved and that is not the topic of this discussion. This time something strange happens. Eyewitnesses reports and camera footage confirms that at some point during the attack the Siberian turned against the other teammates and started killing them off one by one.

First, it was Hatchetface then Burnscar and Shatterbird before disappearing. My sources say that there is a video of the last two but the PRT is still analyzing it because there are concerns of authenticity and Master/Stranger tampering.

The good news doesn't end here, however. A few hours after the Siberian betrayal, authorities have found Crawler's dead body near a small cabin just outside of town. Present at the scene was also a headless body that authorities are 90% sure belongs to Jack Slash with DNA results pending and another that was found in a car nearby.

Missing completely at the moment are Bonesaw, Mannequin, and the Siberian herself.

Why the Siberian suddenly turned against the rest of the team is being investigated and even between the higher levels, there are wildly different theories being thrown out. The more popular ones that I heard were that either someone succeded in Mastering the Siberian, which has been attempted many times unsuccessfully, or she was being mastered from the beginning and only now managed to free herself, both explaining why she attacked her ex companions.

Whatever the reasons or circumstances, hell, even the ones that got away, everyone I've talked to seem to think that without Jack Slash guiding them, the Slaughterhouse Nine is dead.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy the Slaughterhouse is gone, but what happens now? Wasn't the reason the Triumvirate were barred from confronting the Nine because the Siberian was capable of hurting Alexandria and Bonesaw could unleash end-of-the-world Plagues? Are we more in danger or less?

Really hope this is true, without Jack Slash there is no S9. How did he keep so many psychos together for over 20 years though?

Xyloloup

No one is invincible, they just haven't met the wrong adversary.

FearOfClowns

Nothing has been released, it's probably just a hoax or some sick game they want to play.

Let's say that for all these years the Siberian was being mastered, does that mean she could get a pardon or a suspended kill order? What about the rumour that after killing Shatterbird she started flying on glass shards?

My theory is that the Siberian we know and hate has always been a Changer/Breaker state of some parahuman that always stayed transformed because of the Brute rating it had. A few days ago someone that could steal powers like the Fairy Queen showed up, stole the powers of all the S9, the Siberian first because she was the strongest, then used the power to turn into the Siberian and kill all other members because that's what happens when he/she steals powers. Now the only question is: Who's next?

It seems someone leaked shaky-cam footage during the night that got pulled down pretty fast but sprouted like mushrooms over the internet. Since most links I see have more than a few hours of life I will post one Here. Don't know what actually happened but by my reckoning, it's obvious the Siberian killed Burnscar first, and then all the fires in the area disappeared, then she killed Shatterbird by using a power nullification power like Hatchetface's to get her down after which she used her power to control glass and fly away.

Welp, we might have a new Glaistig Uaine on our hands, and this one is the Siberian.

Some of my informants told me that the bodies recovered had absolutely no wound as the footage suggests and that is why they were still analyzing it. They are still unsure if the one in the footage is actually the Siberian or someone with Stranger powers that took her appearance to get close to the two S9 members, and the killing blow was only to mask the fact that whoever that was, was stealing their powers and thus killing them.

There is a thread Here for the speculation on who that is and another Here that tries to put together all the powers he/she already has.

Welp, this could be much worse than we thought. The Siberian was confirmed the only one to out-Brute Alexandria, can you imagine that with even more powers?

Who are you and what have you done to the real Void?

Guys guys, the PRT just officially came out and confirmed that someone with the likeness of the Siberian killed Hatchetface, Burnscar, Shatterbird, Crawler, and, get this, Jack fucking Slash. They had to do DNA tests to confirm that it was really him plus a number of tinker tech tests to determine that it wasn't a clone body. They are suspending the kill order on the Siberian until they have more information but are still urging people to stay away from them and contact the PRT if they see anyone matching the description. At this time no credible claims on the S9's bounties have been made.

Wooohooo It's real!

A new update, Bonesaw's status is unchanged, PRT confirmed she was at the scene because one of her abominations was released soon after the death of Shatterbird but nobody was found. Considering there is video proof of the Siberian using powers very similar if not identical to Hatchetface, Burnscar, and Shatterbird, there are theories Bonesaw is dead but Burnscar's power was used to destroy the body and any contingency plagues she might have created.

Wow, aren't you jumping to the worst conclusions? A new Fairy Queen? Maybe that's what he wants you to believe. There are other explanations less outlandish. Maybe some shaker that can create deadly illusions? It would explain everything. Illusion kills Burnscar and the fire goes out? It's not being put out, it's just that the one that made that fire is dead, it was a shaker effect all along. Shatterbird loses altitude? The Illusionist made her see something that had her descend on her own power. Siberian using glass to fly? Again an illusion. It's possible the kill effect of the illusion body has some rules before it applies but everyone is going straight to the worst-case scenario.

What? Burnscars flames are a shaker effect but it's still flames. They remain for long after she left an area in the past.

Is your Illusionist a Shaker Master or Stranger? decide. Either he can project something everyone sees, even cameras or only something one or more people see, powers are very rarely that versatile.

Why would a cape like that fake being a power thief? Being compared to Glaistig Uaine is not something anyone wants, not if they're sane.

My theory is that the Siberian was someone that the S9 forced to trigger and was then Mastered by Jack Slash into becoming part of his group of murder hobos. He has to have had a Master or Thinker power, there is no other way he could lead the S9 for over 20 years without one, plus every Master attempt against her has always failed, maybe because she was already being Mastered. So the Siberian, after 11 years of being mind-controlled, finally snaps, second-triggers and becomes immune to being mastered, after all that she goes on a rampage against her captors and kills them all.

That's a nice children's tale, the reality is often way worse.

It does beg the question though, What if she shows up at the next Endbringer fight. Not even they were able to hurt Alexandria as badly as the Siberian did, could she actually kill one of them and if that happens, hypothetically, does she get a pardon for the last 11 years? what if she continues her cannibalistic ways after killing an Endbringer? Should we still try to kill her? Can we?

Who cares? The S9 just became the S3, the rest are going to get what's coming to them. If she was mastered then she's innocent but I see an uphill battle proving that even if true.

A/N: Holy cow was this Interlude harder than I thought it would be and I'm still not very convinced by how it turned out. If anyone has ideas that could be discussed inside the PHO thread post it in a PM and I'll see if it can be edited in.

A huge thanks to ujamer and his pho interlude wizard. I wouldn't even know where to start.

The next interludes that have already been decided on are going to be regarding the Fallen and Cauldron. The Cauldron one will be from the POV of an OC and a few paragraphs from the POV of the other members, maybe the Fallen one too?.

Any POV that you want to be included in a separate interlude? I'm thinking of doing one where there are like 10 POV's each focusing on a different thing but each shorter.

I'm in new waters with these chapters so I'm learning as I go.
