Time seemed to slow down to a crawl as I flew through the air. I saw Harper's eyes go wide as I jumped to tackle her. When I awoke in this place, my rifle and many other of my belongings were gone, no doubt taken by those "Obsidian Order" people. I did however manage to keep my scanner, it was still secured in my vest pocket. Time sped back up again as I moved mid air to grab the girl. When I was mere inches away I felt a strong wave of coldness envelop me, I shivered violently as I passed right through her. Completely unprepared for missing my target I hit the ground on my stomach and slid. What...just happened? I pushed myself back up with a groan and turned to look at Harper, who looked almost as surprised and confused as I did. I prepared to lunge again, but she must have seen my obviously telegraphed moves, "Hey, will you stop that for just a second!" she yelped, preparing to jump out of the way again. I kept my stance, squinting at her. "How did you do that?" I questioned. A look of confusion spread across her face, before turning to frustration. "What do you mean what I did, what did YOU do? I was here first!" I shook my head, and jumped forwards again, passing through her yet again. This time, Harper seemed to lose some of her fear, and stood back upright, watching me recover. "You obviously aren't getting anywhere with that as you can see" She said with a hint of smugness in her voice, realizing that I literally wasn't able to touch her now. I straightened back up and glared at her. I walked over to her and waved a hand through her head. I saw her flinch as if she expected it to contact, but did not move from the spot. "So first off, why did you attack me?" I shot back "That's none of your concern." She gave me an incredulous look "It IS my concern because you're the one who attacked me, remember?" I frowned at her, for once I couldn't come up with a quick answer. It wasn't often I got to actually talk to my targets when I was on an active mission to take them out. Seeing my apparent refusal to speak, she asked another question. "At least give me your name! I've been stuck in here for who knows how long, and the first person I meet tries to attack me!" I saw a wave of fear pass over her face before disappearing again. I arced one of my eyebrows. Now that is a lie. Who else could've she met here? Actually, where was "here"? I took a moment to look around, noticing the lack of anything. It was just a rolling dark grey mist on flat grey ground that looked like it went on forever. An annoyed harper tapping her foot caught my attention. "Well? Your name?" I tried to look uninterested as my mind moved at warp speed. "My name is...Liam." "It's nice to meet you Liam. Tell me, what do you remember before you woke up here? Men in robes?" I nodded, and if she was surprised she hid it surprisingly well. I can't harm her now, and those bastards took my rifle, maybe if we work together we can find a way out of here. I laughed internally at how cliché that sounded. Whether I wanted to or not, I figured working with my target was a better chance then wandering the mists alone. "Alright Harper, what do you propose we do next?"

I opened my mouth to respond before my brain actually processed Liams words. I cast a glance at him. He looked harmless enough now, hands in his pockets. My mind dragged my back to that 1 word he said. That 1 word was my name. How does he know my name?
