The morning started out a bit chaotic for everyone, even if they didn't have to get up too early as the final Stunt Rally race wouldn't take place until 11 a.m. due to long preparations, especially those of today's vehicles, beforehand.

The breakfast buffet had taken place and everyone had prepared themselves for the rest of the day afterwards, yet not everyone felt as relaxed as one another.

"I'm not going to race today" Chip said, "yet I'm nervous about how the finale will go."

"Tell me about it" Chuck said, "and I cannot even drive a racing car."

"Trust me" Lucky said, "all of us seem more nervous than Wrench and Mr. X combined."

"Are they really nervous?" Bailey asked.

"Mr. X doesn't even seem like such a type" Barney replied, "but from the inside, he may be."

"Who is gonna work on Mr. X's car anyway?" Bradawl asked, "imagine if neither me, nor Mallet, nor Dad is allowed to do so."

"That's a tricky one" Mallet said, "but we'll hopefully find out soon."

"Did you mention not being sure about who'll work on Mr. X's car?" Milford the butler asked. "My colleague Leno and I will. Believe it or not, but aside of butlers, we're also fairly skilled engineers."

"I see. Then, Bradawl, Dad and I will stick to Wrench's car, in that case. Thanks for informing me."

"Anytime, sir."

The two brothers headed towards their father.

"Dad" Bradawl said, "we don't have to work on Mr. X's car, as two of his butlers will. Just informing."

"I see" Watt said, "and you're sure they're skilled engineers?"

"The butler with the brown hair with grey highlights told us" Mallet said, "that him and some Leno guy, who's also a butler, are also skilled in engineering, aside of their usual 'butler-ism'."

Watt, Sakura, Wrench, Kris and Kiki burst out in laughter.

"Grey highlights?" Sakura grinned, "those aren't highlights, that's just nature's weird work! My father doesn't have black hair with grey highlights either, does he now?!"

"And seriously, man" Wrench added, "butler-ism? Is that even an existent entry in the dictionary?"

Kiki couldn't even properly say anything anymore, as she was/they were laughing so much at this point.

"I think your funny statement may just have made someone's day to the max" Watt said to Mallet, "they're trying to say something, but their laughter has taken the better of them!"

"It has" the edgy preteen huffed in between (t)he(i)r laughter, as she/they tried to breathe calmly again. "But that's most likely combined with my nervousness, too."

"You may be right" Kris said, "I've occasionally been giggling here and there, too, until Mallet came and most likely enhanced our happiness just now. I'm not even sure if these details are a good combination or not!"

"Let's be honest" Wrench said, "I think everyone is nervous at this point, even if they're not directly competing like Mr. X and me. In fact, how does Mr. X express himself when nervous? People like him have feelings as well, you know?"

At the same time, Star came to greet the lazy mechanic and his family members, sister-in-law and girlfriend, but especially to greet Kiki.

"Top o' the morning!" he said. "I can't help but feel nervous for Dad and you, Wrench."

"Nobody can at this point, not even me!"

"Dad doesn't even seem nervous, even if he told me, my siblings, his friends, their kids and Mum just now that he is."

"Told you he has feelings." Wrench said this to his family members, sister-in-law and girlfriend, who chuckled again in response, albeit not as much as when Mallet made his most recent statement.

"Even Mega Hurtz seems nervous as heck right now" Sakura said.

"He does?" Star briefly pondered. "Now that you mention it, he indeed does. Most likely one of his humanoid traits. He's been quite aloof, and I even think he may get another blue screen of death anytime soon."

"Wow" Kiki said, "a robot that gets blue screens of death. I still cannot believe it, even if Mega Hurtz did get another one recently, during Chip's second race, remember?"

"I sure do. Say, would you like to purchase a little drink with me?"

"Sure." Wrench's little sister/sibling got up from (t)he(i)r current seat. "Do your best in advance." She/they practically glomped (t)he(i)r favourite big brother.

"Thanks, Sis" Wrench replied.

The two preteens nearly went off to the cafeteria to get themselves something to drink, until Star wanted Beck to come, too.

"Thanks for the offer" Beck said, "do you mind if Charmy tags along, too? She's our age."

"Not at all" the mystery preteen replied, "that way, we are only even."

"What was that?" Charmy asked, having heard her name.

"You wanna get something to drink in the cafeteria?" Kiki asked. "With me, Star and Beck?"

"Sure, why not?"

The foursome went off to the cafeteria where it was still quite quiet, even if it was nearly 9:30 a.m. by now.

Watt, Bradawl and Mallet saw that it was the aforementioned time, and decided to head to the workplace to work on Wrench's car.

"We promise" Bradawl said, "we'll do our best on your car like we usually do."

"I believe you will" Wrench chuckled.

Butlers Milford and Leno saw the threesome take off to the workplace, and decided to follow suit.

"Only one and a half hour shy before the real thing" Milford said, "better get to work. The name's Milford, by the way, and this is my colleague Leno."

"Pleasure to meet you" Watt said. "I'm Watt – which is an abbreviation, by the way – and these are my sons Bradawl and Mallet, which are nicknames of theirs."

"Ah, so you're Wrench's father and siblings, I see?" Leno said. "Very nice."

"We also have a younger half-sister" Mallet said, "whose name is Kiki, or her nickname Sis."

"And is questioning her gender" Bradawl added, "so her pronouns are anything in the way of she and they."

"Are they the one in the schoolgirl uniform?" Milford asked, "and with the somewhat bleached hair?"

Especially Mallet started laughing at Milford's question.

"That's Bailey, my classmate at the university who's nonbinary, as well as Barney's older sibling! No, Sis is the one with the blue crop top and the long, black hair with multicoloured highlights. She's one of the cool kids at her middle school."

"My sincere apologies, Mallet."

"Bailey indeed is Barney's older sibling" Leno stated, "now that I think of their looks. Same lazy-looking eyes, even if they're brown instead of dark blue, similar position of the teeth, same small button nose, but most importantly, a huge I-know-it-all-person… yup, that's definitely a Halfman."

Soon, the small group arrived at the workplace, where the racing cars of Wrench and Mr. X were already set to be worked on.

"We know what to do, right?" Watt said, as he handed out trash bags for the others to wear over their clothes to prevent them from getting stained soon.

"Yes, Dad" Bradawl and Mallet replied.

"Yes, mister Murphy" Milford and Leno said.

"Me? A Murphy?" Watt started laughing a bit. "Nah, my three sons got that surname from my ex, which was a huge demand of hers. You can call me mister Navals, which is also the surname that my youngest has, or Watt, if you'd like."

"Doesn't sound like a too friendly excuse of an ex" Leno said, "one who didn't allow the kids to have your surname."

"She wasn't either. Only glad I was the one to take the kids under my own wing and leave first."

"I'm utterly sorry, mister Navals."

"And glad that you're still doing your best to keep up with us" Bradawl said to Watt, "even if Mallet and I don't live at your pad anymore, Dad." He turned to Leno. "Also, my brothers and I don't even mind about our surname anymore for years. We learned to live with it, and that's only a good thing, right?"

"That indeed is a good thing, young sir" the younger and brighter butler said, "to often look at the bright side of life instead." He grabbed one of the two toolboxes and soon started checking the engines of Mr. X's car. "Yup, this thing indeed needs a thorough fix-up, as it looks quite like it after all those revising races from a few weeks back."

Everyone else at the workplace chuckled at the thought of Mr. X still revising his races for the finale, even if he was the one and only Stunt Rally world champion.

One hour and 15 minutes later…

"Ladies and gentlemen" the announcer said, "today really is the day, namely the final Stunt Rally race of this year! This iconic race will consist of Wrench versus the one and only world champion, Mr. X! Whom of the two will eventually emerge victorious?"

"Ooooh" everyone in the audience said in even more anticipation than they ever experienced before.

Many foods-people came to hand out the stereotypical stadium foods to everyone once again.

"I could sure use something after all that hard work just now" Watt said, as he grabbed a can of soda and a small sub sandwich. "Thanks much, ma'am."

Bradawl and Mallet chose the same as their father, Sakura chose a smoothie, Kris chose a can of grape juice and some popcorn, and Kiki chose a berry milkshake, a small batch of fries and a hot dog.

"Hey, I'm still growing in length!" the edgy preteen said with a slight hint of laughter, "and that consistent nervousness has made me quite hungry in the meantime, too!"

"Tell me about it" Beck said, as he chose the same as his best friendly rival, except for the fact that he chose an orange milkshake instead. "You can try some if mine, if you want."

"You, too."

The two friends tried a bit of each other's milkshakes, but after doing so, they looked at the others around them with judging eyes.

"We're just best friendly rivals!" they said in unison.

"I believe you guys" Radium chuckled, "and I promise I'm not laughing at you right now." He put an arm around Brad's shoulder, also proving he had a best friendly rival.

A few of the others were also chuckling about Beck and Kiki.

Meanwhile, on the racing track, the racing cars were already set.

"I wonder how it'll go this year" Milford said, "how much will the damage be? For how many times will they respawn?"

"So far" Wrench said, "the damage was mostly minor. The only time a vehicle sustained major damage was back when Glacia was suddenly so clumsy before she even made it to the finish line during the first ever Stunt Rally competition!" He, his brothers and father laughed heartily, even if the latter only saw it on TV that time.

"But throughout the years, the mechanics and engineers have only become better. Back when that happened to Glacia, there was this clumsy engineer named Ollie who thought that her car was not damaged at all after the semi-finals, and thus, did nothing to it, resulting in that disaster. Indeed, we're only just glad you and your father and brothers happen to be engineers and mechanics, it means a lot to us!"

"Mallet isn't a mechanic or an engineer yet, but he's studying to become one at the university. He's most likely willing to become one of the engineers here afterwards, yet not sure either."

"That's okay" Leno said, "make sure he takes all the time he needs as well in the meantime. It's no good to put yourself under such pressure, you know?" He walked up to the lazy mechanic and patted his shoulder. "Break a leg."

"Thanks much, Leno."

Just as the young butler and his older colleague left for the skybox Mr. X reserved for them and his family and friends, Chip, Lucky and Barney showed up for Wrench.

"Dude!" Chip said, "we cannot just let you race without wishing you the best of luck yet!"

"Sorry for not being able to work on your car, Wrench" Barney said, "but Mr. X called it a day for me after the semi-finale, and to be honest, I could use some rest myself, too."

"It's no biggie, ya dweeb" Wrench said, as he put an arm around the young mechanic's shoulders in the style of some sort of embrace and swiftly rubbed over his hat, as if ruffling his hair. "After all of that sadness from your sisters and such, you do deserve to take a little break, because sadness can also be overwhelming for others who are not sad, you know?"

"Yeah, you're right. Besides, you know it wasn't just Bea, Honey and Brittany who were sad, right?"

The two mechanics chuckled a little.

"As Chip said" Lucky said, "we came here to wish you a good luck in the final race. I really hate to say it, but blow Mr. X away…!"

"Yeah" Chip said, "mesmerise him big time!"

The three other primary racers practically squeezed the finalist out of them into a tight hug.

At the same time, Mr. X came, who practically shooed Chip, Lucky and Barney back to the grandstand, as the race was quite near right now.

"Break a leg" Wrench said to his current opponent.

"No, you" Mr. X said with a slight chuckle. "You're the champion."

"We'll see whom of us will emerge victorious first…!"

The two got into their respective vehicles and buckled up, as everyone in the audience waited in huge anticipation.
