Cyborg
*Lana's dorm, a week later.*
She and Clark walk in her room, hand in hand, until Lana drops to her bed, dead tired. Clark tries not to laugh. "Farming work a little harder than you thought?" Clark smile brightly at her.
"Yeah...I thought running the Talon was hard, but running a farm, that's a whole new story." Lana placed her hand on her head, wiping some sweat off.
"If it's any consolation, I kind of get turned on when I see you sweat like that." Clark grinned and Lana threw a pillow at him.
"Is that all you think about?" Lana sat up.
"Can you blame me? I have the most beautiful girl in the world as my girlfriend who I'm deeply in love with, what else should I be thinking about?" Clark said, sitting on the bed next to Lana.
"What you should be thinking is how we're going to go to school and run your parents farm at the same time." Lana said, as Clark turned away at the mention of school.
"I kind of dropped out of school." Clark turned back to her, with a guilty look on his face.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Lana looked at him in shock.
"I didn't think it was that important." Clark shrugged it off.
"Not that important? Clark, you need a college education if you plan on getting any where in this world, even for someone with your abilities. They can only get you so far." Lana scolded him.
"I just think there are more important things to take care of now. School can wait." Clark told her and Lana nodded.
"Okay, but promise me you'll reconsider this decision once we get things back to normal." Lana said.
"I promise." Clark replied.
"Good, now I have to take a shower and head to the library. I'll call you tonight." Lana said, getting up to go into the bathroom, before Clark stopped her.
"No goodbye kiss?" Clark pouted.
"Just one and I mean it Clark! Only one." Lana told him emphatically.
"Fine, only one." Clark agreed, Lana leaned down and kissed him. But he kept her down and soon the kiss turned more passionate. Lana rolled on to Clark as they continued kissing.
*An hour later.*
Lana and Clark laid in bed, both smiling as their legs were tangled together. Then, Lana realized what time it was. "I have to go." Lana leaped off the bed and went for the bathroom, before Clark stopped her.
"No goodbye kiss?" Clark pouted again.
"Nice try." Lana smirked and ran into the bathroom.
'Hey, it worked once." Clark said placing his hands on the back of his head and grinning.
*Laboratory, somewhere in Metropolis*
A doctor is standing over a body laid out on a surgery table. He rubs his hand in disgust and sadness. "I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry." He repeated over and over.
"What..." The body whispered and looked up.
"Can you hear me?" The doctor asked, looking him over.
"Yeah." The person said, shaking off the cob webs.
"We did our best to save you. I mean the real parts of you." The doctor explained.
"Thank you." The person said, getting up, when an alarm sounded.
"You have to leave, they're coming." The doctor told him and he hurried for the exit. Another man doctor chased after him with guards.
"Shoot him in the shoulder, I need him alive. If you kill him, Mr. Luthur will make you pay." The doctor yelled.
*The streets of Metropolis*
Lana is driving her SUV, when out of no where comes this person and she crashes into him. "Ahhhh." Lana screams as she bangs her head and gets knocked out.
*Metropolis Hospital*
Lana grabs her head in pain. "Owww." Lana says, wincing slightly at her pain.
"Are you okay?" The person asked, who happened to be the same person that was in the Laboratory. Lana looked at him not believing what she saw, although less suprised that most would be. Considering who her boyfriend was.
"I hit you." Lana said, pointing to him.
"Yeah..." He replied, looking away.
"Yet, here you stand, alive and well." Lana motioned with her hand.
"Not something you see every day." He acknowledged, looking around her room, seeming kind of jumpy.
"Actually, you'd be surprised." Lana let out a small laugh.
"Listen, I'm sorry about what happened and I'm glad you're okay. But I have to go." He turned to leave.
"Wait, what's your name?" Lana asked.
"It's probably better you don't know." He said, before hurrying out. Lana looked suspiciously toward the door and then took out her cell. She dialed Clark's number.
"Clark." Uh oh was Clark's first thought at hearing Lana call him.
"Hey, is everything alright?" Clark needed to know.
"Actually, I'm at the hospital..." Before Lana could finish, Clark was standing right in front of her.
"What happened?" Clark asked concerned, gently placing his hand on her cut.
"I got into a car accident." Lana said, as Clark looked sadly at the cut, before Lana took his hand. "It isn't bad Clark." Lana reassured him.
"How did this happen?" Clark questioned her, taking a sit in a chair next to the bed.
"I was going to the Library, like I said and then out of no where came this man. I hit him and got knocked out. He brought me here and..." Lana then turned to Clark, looking serious.
"And what?" Clark wanted to know.
"He didn't have a cut on him, he was perfectly intact. Like he was hit a feather, instead of an SUV going 30 mph." Clark looked away for a second.
"What did he look like?" Clark asked.
"He was black, looked around our age, wore a yellow shirt, with a black jacket and blue jeans and there was something else." Lana said, thinking back.
"What is it?" Clark looked at her seriously.
"He looked lost and paniced. Like he was running away from something." Lana explained.
"I'm going to try and find him." Clark got up and then kissed Lana sweetly on the forehead. "Stay here, I'll come back when I find him." Lana nodded.
"We don't who he is Clark, so be careful." Lana told him.
"I will, now rest." Clark smiled and superspeeded away.
*Streets of Metropolis*
Clark is superspeeding around, when he notices the police sirens. Police cars pass by an alley, where a man, who fits Lana's description seems to be hiding. Clark superspeeds over there. "Hiding?" The man jumped when he saw Clark.
"You could say that. Is there something you want?" The man questioned Clark.
"Yeah, you hit my girlfriend." Clark told him.
"Are you looking for an apology card?" He replied.
"No, more like an explanation." Clark stood in front of head, folding his arms.
"I'm sorry for what happened to your girlfriend and her car, but I don't have time for this." He began to walk away, when something in Clark's head clicked.
"Wait a minute! Aren't you Victor, Victor Stone, a wide receiver from Met high?" The man stopped and turned to him.
"Yep, that's who I used to be anyways." He sighed.
"What happened to you? My girlfriend said she hit you head on and you have no scratches." Clark pointed to his body.
"Milk does a body good, do I know you?" Victor asked curiously.
"I'm Clark Kent, Smallville Crows." Clark informed him.
"Some arm you got." Victor complimented him.
"Yeah, I don't play anymore." Clark admitted.
"Neither do I." Victor said.
"I'd assume so, considering you're dead." Clark told him.
"Listen, I don't have time to play 50 questions. I have places to go and one of them isn't here. It was nice seeing you and tell your girlfriend sorry for me, I never meant to hurt anyone." Victor said, trying to pass by Clark, but Clark grabbed his arms.
"We need to talk, you can't run." Clark said as Victor tugged on his arm.
"Let go Kent, Let go!" He firmly said, tugging hard one last time and sending Clark hard into a wall. "Kent, are you okay?" He asked with concern, until Clark got up like nothing happened. "What are you?" Victor said in complete awe.
"I could ask the same of you." Clark replied, dusting of his jacket.
*Kent House*
Martha is on the phone. "Who is this?...Please don't do this... I don't have that kind of money and I can't raise it in time...Fine, I'll be there." Martha put down the phone looking dejected and scared. Then there's a knock at the front door.
"Am I late?" Lionel asked walking in.
"No, you're on time." Martha told him.
"Good, because I'd hate waste the time of our new Senator." Lionel showed her the paper.
"I'm sorry, but I have to reschedule our conference." Martha said.
"Okay, may I ask what's wrong?" Lionel wanted to know.
"Nothing I can't handle." Martha replied, still looking a bit shaken up.
"I wouldn't doubt it, but if you need my help, you know where to find me." Lionel offer and gave a smile before leaving.
*The Loft*
Clark is on his cell talking to Lana. "I found him...Yes, he's okay, but you were right about him, he's different...Just wait for Chloe to pick you up and meet me at the Daily Planet...No, I just need time to sort things out here first. I don't want you in danger...I love you too, Lana." Clark hung up his cell and turned to Victor. "So, care to explain?" Clark asked.
"We were all riding in a car one day. I started to snow, it was me, my parents and my sister. We were going out to eat, to celebrate me getting a free ride to Met U for Football..." He paused, emotion starting to take over. "Then it happened, the car started to spin out of control. My dad desparately tried to keep it straight, but it was no use. Before we crashed, I passed out and when I woke up...I got this." Victor motioned to his new body.
"Who would do this to you?" Clark was disgusted.
"Cyntechnics scientist. I don't I was the only one they tried this one, just the only who survived. Had it not been for this doctor, I'd be all machine." Victor sighed.
"Don't you mean bionic?" Clark corrected you.
"I guess, but enough about me. What's your story?" Victor asked.
"Let's say, what made me, wasn't by drinking a lot of milk." Clark grinned as Victor looked at him curiously.
"So then I'm guessing you're not like me." Victor said.
"I'm not like anyone Victor. I give the term different, a whole new meaning." Clark admitted.
"I see." Victor paused, clearly in thought. "Tell me, does your girlfriend know?" He asked.
"Yes, she knows everything." Clark smiled, happy he could finally say that.
"Did that change the way she felt about you?" Victor needed to know.
"No, it didn't, in fact it made her love me more." Clark said, feeling completely happy with himself saying that.
"I don't know if I can take that chance with my girlfriend." Victor admitted.
"What's her name?" Clark asked.
"Katherine." Victor answered.
"Pretty name and tell me, do you love her?" Clark questioned him.
"I do love her." Victor sincerely said.
"Does she love you?" Clark said.
"Yes, she does or did." Vcitor told him.
"Then you should tell her the truth. Trust me, secrets and lies only hurt a relationship." Clark told him.
"What if she rejects me?" Victor wondered.
"And what if she doesn't?" Clark said as Victor looked away. Clark began again. "Listen, I've known been in love with Lana my whole life and had always been afraid to tell her the truth. I was afraid she would reject me, because of who I am, so I lied and kept secrets from her. All that did was hurt her and us. Until one day, I told her everything and I've never been happier in my whole life, than I am now. I know the risk in telling her, but the reward is much greater and worth it. Trust me." Clark explained.
"How could she ever love me though? Look at me..." Victor motioned to his body and what they did to happen.
"Victor, they can take away your body and replace it, but they can't take away who you are on the inside. If love someone, the inside is all that matters." Clark said as Victor looked at him thoughtfully.
"Not like it matters those, Cyntechnics is all over me. Wow, am I going to see her?" He said, looking sadly at the floor.
"A friend of mines works at the Daily Planet, maybe she could do something." Clark suggested.
"You'd do that for me." Victor asked surprised.
"I understand what it's like to be in your position, so sit tight and I'll be back." Clark said, walking away.
*Daily Planet*
Chloe and Lana are sitting in Chloe's area, when Clark walks. He immediately goes up to Lana. "How's your head?" He asked.
"Fine." Lana said as Clark stroked her cheek.
"You had me worried there." Clark said, concern in his eyes.
"Sorry, I know car accidents aren't our favorite thing to wear about." Lana admitted and Clark smiled.
"I just don't know what I'd do if I didn't get to do this again." Clark kissed her passionately on the lips, before Lana broke it.
"Neither do I." Lana kissed him back as they stood there kissing.
"Umm, excuse me." Chloe said, Clark and Lana ignored her. "EXCUSE ME!" Chloe shouted, Clark and Lana broke apart.
"Sorry." They both said.
"Now, I assume there's a reason we're here." Chloe said
"Yeah, I assume Lana told you about the guy who hit their car. Well, he's bionic and he has Cyntechnics after him." Clark explained.
"Okay, let me see what I can find." Chloe turned to her computer.
"You were with him for a while Clark, what did you talk about?" Lana wondered.
"We talked about what's like to be different and in love." Clark said.
"Oh..." Lana said.
"Yeah, he has a girlfriend and he's afraid to tell her the truth." Clark said.
"He can't keep lying to her, it only hurts the both of them. You should know best, we're both experts in that field." Lana smiled at him and Clark wrapped his arms around Lana.
"We are and I told him that love is worth it, because the happiest day of my life was when you accepted me." Clark kiss Lana lightly on the lips.
"We have a problem, I'm not getting anything." Chloe told them as Lana and Clark broke their embrace. They went to look on the computer.
"There has to be something." Clark said frustrated.
"All it says, is that they were working on a project to replaced damaged limbs." Chloe said.
"Who owns Cyntechnics?" Lana asked.
"Luthur Corp." Chloe replied.
"Big surprised." Clark said, rolling his eyes.
"I'm going to see Lex." Clark then walked away, Chloe and Lana shared a look. Lana caught up to Clark before he could superspeed away.
"What do you think you're going to do?" Lana asked.
"I'm just going to talk to him." Clark said, not looking at her.
"Are you sure? Because I know how you feel about Lex and I don't want you doing something stupid." Lana told him.
"I won't." Clark replied.
"I want to go with you." Lana said.
"No, I'll drop you off at the barn. Stay with Victor." Clark said as Lana sighed.
"Fine, but look at me Clark." Lana paused, until Clark looked her in the eyes. "Don't lose your temper, please, for me." Lana said, looking lovingly into his eyes.
"For you." Clark said, giving her a small kiss on the lips, before picking her up and superspeeding away.
*Lex's Mansion*
Lex is looking into his fireplace when Clark storms in. "You love to make an entrance, don't you Clark?" Lex gave him a smirk.
"What do you know about Victor Stone and Cyntechnics?" Clark said, ignoring Lex's comment.
"I suppose saying hello is too much to ask you." Lex said, walking to his desk and sitting in his chair.
"Let's cut the crap Lex." Clark firmly told him.
"Fine, Victor Stone? Isn't he a football player that died a couple of months ago?" Lex asked.
"Yes, but he isn't dead anymore." Clark replied.
"Wow, he must have the same rejuvenating powers as you do Clark. However, I fail to see what this has to do with me." Lex told him.
"Cyntechnics is owned and ran by LuthurCorp." Clark said.
"Yes it is, I never said it wasn't. The last time I checked though, LuthurCorp has a lot of companies and I can't be aware of them all." Lex laughed slightly.
"You think taking away someone's life is funny?" Clark was started to lose his temper, but then remembered Lana.
"No I don't, but I think giving someone a second chance is something good. Maybe he should be thankful that he's alive and not six feet under." Lex snapped back.
"Maybe some people would rather die, then have their whole life turned upside down and turned into something they don't want to be." Clark told him sternly.
"I guess we have a difference of opinion, seems to be happening a lot lately." Lex shrugged.
"Yeah." Clark replied and then Lex got up.
"I have a meeting to go to, but it's been fun." Lex sarcastically said before walking out.
*Clark's Loft*
Lana quietly walks up the loft stairs. "Victor? Victor?" He lightly grabs her from behind and she jumps.
"Sorry." He said.
"It's okay, how are you holding up?" She asked.
"Alright, I guess. Where's Clark?" He wanted to know.
"He's talking to Lex Luthur. It turns out that LuthurCorp owns the company that did this to you." Lana informed him.
"Oh really, I'd like to have some words with him myself then." Victor said in anger tone.
"We don't know if Lex had anything to do with it. Admittedly, I do have my doubts about Lex, but he can be a good person as well and I think it's unfair to immediately blame him." Lana said.
"And it's unfair for me to have to live like this when I should be dead." Victor snapped back.
"Just look at it as a second chance." Lana told him.
"A second chance at what? To live life on the run? No thanks?" Victor said.
"No, a second chance at love." Lana said, making him look her in the eye.
"Clark told you about Katherine?" Victor asked and Lana nodded.
"Yes, because he and I went through the same thing. I'm sure Clark told you his point of view of it, so now I'll tell you mine." Lana paused before she began. "Clark use to kept secrets from me and lie to me. The only reason I wanted him to tell me, was because I knew it was the only thing keeping us apart. I didn't care what his secret was and I always trusted him. I just wanted, no needed to know, because I wanted to be with him. I'm sure thing she feels the same way." Lana said as Victor looked at her thoughtfully, then turned to leave. "Where are you going?" Lana asked, surprised.
"To find Katherine." Victor said, before he fell to the ground.
"Victor!" Lana shouted and went to his side.
"What the hell?" He asked, looking at his arm.
"Target acquired, Uh." The man with the gun was just thrown into the barn and knocked out by Clark.
"Lana! Victor!" Clark ran up to them, he smiled at Lana, who returned it, then turned to Victor. "Are you alright?" Clark asked.
"I got shot." Victor told him.
"Let's get out of here." Clark said.
*Lois's apartment*
"Let's lay you down." Clark lays Victor down on the bed as Lana watches.
"I'll get him a towel." Lana said, rushing to the bathroom.
"You'll be safe here, Lois isn't coming back for a week." Clark told him.
"Thanks, I'm sorry about this. I didn't mean to bring you and your girlfriend any trouble." Victor told him.
"It's okay, trouble has a way of finding us, anyways." Clark gave a sarcastic laugh as Lana came out with a wet towel.
"Here you go." She put it on the wound.
"That might work for now, but my cells and fluid are draining. If this continues, I'm a dead man." Victor said as Clark and Lana gave each other a worried glance. Clark, then brought Lana aside.
"I'm going to see what Chloe can do for us. Stay here with him and call me right away. Don't answer the door for anyone except me, not even Lex." Clark instructed her.
"I won't." Lana reassured him.
"Be careful." He told her and turned around to leave.
"Clark" She said and he turned to her. "I love you." Clark smiled at her and mouthed "I love you too" before speeding away.
*Daily Planet*
Clark tells Chloe what's going on and ask her to find a doctor named Hong. "Chloe, we to find him now." Clark told her.
"I'm on it." She searches through her computer. "It turns out the lead scientist for the Machina project, Dr. Alistair Krieg has a history of burning bridges. He was fired from both M.I.T. and Stanford for using their funding to conduct ethically challenged research." Chloe informed him
"Maybe Lex isn't all to blame." Clark said as Chloe finished her search.
"Oh, here it is, there are six Hongs in the Metropolis area." Chloe said.
"Can't we narrow it down?" Clark asked.
"Ok." She looks through their info. "One's a bioengineer." Chloe said, turning to him.
"That's our guy, I need to find quick, before Victor dies." Clark superspeeded away.
"And there goes." Chloe smiles.
"Hong's House*
Clark knocks on the door, but there's no answer. He walks in and looks around, then see's Dr. Hong die on the floor. Clark sighs, "Is he dead?" Lex asked from behind.
"Yep." Clark said.
"Who did this?" Lex wanted to know.
"I don't know, you tell me." Clark stared at Lex with anger.
"You actually think I did this?" Lex asked.
"Why else would you be here? Especially when you claim to not be involved with Cyntechnics." Clark said.
"After you told me what happened, I looked into the situation. Dr. Hong was trying to stop what happened to Victor, but obviously he failed." Lex explained.
"Did Alistair Krieg do this to him?" Clark wanted to know.
"I don't know, but I'll find out and you need to tell me where Victor is." Lex said.
"Victor's safe with me, but he's shot." Clark said.
"Bring him to me, I can help him." Lex told him.
"I don't want your help, I've seen you help people before." Clark said with resentment.
"Clark, I'm trying to help. Whatever problems we have, we need to put them aside to help Victor." Lex said sincerely as Clark looked at him thoughtfully.
*Lois's apartment*
Lana gets off the phone with Clark, sadly hanging up the phone. "What's wrong? Did he find him?" Victor asked.
"Yes." Lana replied.
"And..." Victor motioned with his hands.
"He's dead." Lana said, looking sadly at him.
"Great, my only chance and he's gone." Victor said angrily.
"No, it isn't, we'll find a way. Clark would never let you down, he'll do anything in his power to save you." Lana tried to reassure him.
"But I can't that chance." Victor got up and tried to leave, but Lana stepped in front of him.
"Victor, you can't leave, they're looking for you and there's no telling what they will do." Lana told him.
"And there's no telling how long I can stay alive. Lana, I'm dying and if i'm going to die, i'm going to find Katherine first. I need to tell her how I feel, I need to see her again." Victor pleaded.
"I can't let you leave, Victor that's the first place they'd look for you." Lana said.
"I know, but I have to go, despite the risk. If you knew you had one last chance to see the person you love, wouldn't you go?" Victor questioned her, Lana paused and moved out of his way.
*Metropolis*
Martha is waiting on the streets with a package, when a man approaches her. "Do you have the money?" He asked.
"Yes, but why are you doing this?" She asked him.
"Just..." Before the man could finish, a car pulled up and Lionel walked out.
"Martha!" He said, coming toward her.
"Lionel, what are you doing here?" She wanted to know.
"I thought you could use some help and I guess I was right." Lionel turned to the man and then back to Martha. "Why don't you wait in the car." He told Martha.
"But Lionel." Martha started to said before Lionel stopped her.
"Listen, I understand what's going here. I saw the packages, you can't give in to blackmail." Lionel firmly told her.
"There's a lot at risk." Martha warned him.
"There always is." Lionel replied.
"Lionel..." Martha began.
"Let me take care of this." Lionel said, Martha gave him a concerned look and then went to the car. Lionel then whispered something in the guys ear, he turned around wideyed and left.
*Katherine's place*
Victor walks in quietly, looking around, until he comes face to face with Doctor Krieg. "Hello Victor." He said coldly.
"Where is she?" Victor asked.
"She's safe, but she won't be if you don't come with me." The doctor threatened him.
"If you touch her, I'll kill you." Victor said staring dead into his eyes.
"She'll be fine as long as you cooperate. Now stick out your arm." Krieg instructed him as Victor reluctantley did and the doctor injected him with a drug. He quickly fell to the ground. Then Lex walked in. "He came just like you said." Krieg turned to Lex.
"The good ones always follow their heart." Lex smirked.
*Lois's apartment*
Clark superspeeds in and see's Lana sitting on the bed. "Where's Victor?" He asked confused.
"He left." Lana said as Clark looked shocked at her.
"What! He wasn't suppose to leave, what happened?" Clark wanted to know.
"Clark, he wanted to see Katherine. He couldn't die without seeing her." Lana explained.
"Lana, he's not going to die and that's the first place they would look for him." Clark replied.
"You can't tell me that if you were going to die and you had a chance to see me again, that wouldn't take it." Lana told him as Clark nodded.
"I'm sorry, you're right, I just want to help him." Clark said as Lana got up and took his hands in hers.
"Then go save him, they probably took him to the lab." Lana told him and he smiled at her, then superspeeded away.
*The Lab*
Victor groans as he opens his eyes and Lex is standing beside the table. "Who!" Victor said, looking toward Lex.
"Yep, me." Lex replied.
"You did this to me." Victor said with conviction in his voice.
"I did, frankly I thought you'd be a little more thankful." Lex said.
"Thankful for what? Being turned into a garbage disposal?" Victor said as Lex smirked at him.
"No, a chance to live again and to be something special." Lex says to him as the doctor informs Lex of something. "The doctor here is going to implant a chip that will erase all emotions." Lex informs him.
"No." Was all Victor could gasp.
"It's for the best, no more petty emotions to get in your way. They can only slow you down, trust me on that. Keep me informed on his situation." Lex says, before leaving. A couple of minutes later.
"Prep him for implant." Doctor Krieg says to the other doctor who leaves.
"Please don't do this." Victor pleaded.
"It's too late." The doctor said as he was about to plant the chip, when Clark superspeeds in, knowing the doctor throw and the wall.
"Victor!" Clark says.
"Right on time." Victor said with a sigh.
*The next day, Lex's mansion.*
Clark walks as Lex smiles from his desk. "Clark, I thought you'd be stopping by. Come to tell me how you helped Victor escape?" Lex asked. Clark ignores the question and puts a folder on Lex's desk.
"That's everything me and Chloe could find on the Machina project. Care to explain anything?" Clark asked as Lex looked it over.
"Nothing that I already don't know." Lex said, looking from the folder back to Clark.
"Right..." Clark rolled his eyes.
"I don't want to bother Victor anymore, in case that's what you came to ask me. He's been through enough." Lex said.
"Yeah, thanks to you." Clark replied harshly.
"I had nothing to do with what happened, I tried to help." Lex said.
"That's not what Victor said." Clark told him.
"Well, I tried to help, he must have misconstructed my intentions." Lex said.
"Seems to be a theme for people when it comes to you." Clark said, getting frustrated.
"What's wrong with trying to save someone's life Clark? I'd think someone who goes around being the hero, would be all for this." Lex said, folding his arms.
"No one should play God Lex. The end doesn't always justify the ends." Clark said and Lex nodded.
"Thanks for the lesson, you can let yourself out." Lex said, turned to his computer as Clark walked out.
*Kent house*
Martha is doing paperwork when Lionel walks in. "I hope i'm not interupting you." Lionel said, looking at her work.
"No." Martha said looking away from her work toward him.
"I just wanted to say that everything is taken care of." Lionel informed her.
"Thank you, but it wasn't nesscary to come to my rescue." Martha told him.
"I know, you're very capable of handling things for yourself. Just remember, it's okay to ask for help, because i'll always be there to give it." Lionel said and then walked out.
*Clark's loft*
Clark and Lana are standing hand in hand, looking out at the sunset, when Victor walks in. They turned to him. "Victor, how are you?" Clark asked.
"I'm fine." Victor said, walking toward them.
"I bet you're glad to have a fresh start." Lana said as Victor nodded.
"Yeah, I kind of am and it's all thanks to you two. Especially you Clark, I don't how to thank you." Victor said.
"You don't have to thank me." Clark told him as Lana smiled at Clark's modesty.
"You're special person Clark, you're going to help a lot of people." Victor told him.
"I can only hope." Clark smiled as did Victor, then they heard someone walk up the loft stairs.
"Victor?" A girl said, walking toward them, he hugged her immediately.
"Katherine?" Victor called out with joy as he hugged her again.
"What did they do to you?" She asked.
"It's a long story." Victor replied.
"I'd love to hear it." Katherine said as Victor smiled and they walked out. Clark and Lana smiled at each other.
"I'm glad everything worked out." Lana said as Clark wrapped his arm around her.
"So am I." Clark looked away for a second, Lana noticed this.
"What's wrong?" Lana asked, turning toward him.
"Being with Victor reminded me of my football days." Clark told her.
"Oh..." Lana said.
"Yeah, I just loved playing football so much, but I knew I couldn't continue to do it." Clark confessed.
"Because you're meant for much more important things than winning football games." Lana said.
"I know." Clark sighed, Lana put her hand on his cheek.
"And whatever that is, we're going to go through it together." Lana kiss him lightly on the lips and Clark smiled.
"Together?" Clark asked, kind of jokingly.
"Together, forever." Lana said and they kiss passionately as the sun setted.
