Author's Note: Hey, guys! I know I haven't posted in a while, but I just want to say that it's because sillykitty's internet was not working. You see, in Northern New Jersey there was a really bad day when the winds were really high. Therefore, a lot of people's power has gone out. However, in this case, it was sillykitty's internet. She has not been able to write anything due to her internet, but recently, her internet was fixed, and here we are! I wrote this whole chapter. Enjoy this!

Severus Snape

At last, we were out of detention. Two months had gone by, and our work was getting easier by the second, so it wasn't too bad. Quite frankly, I think McGonagall was relieved to get us out of there.

The Marauders and I parted ways, and I thought we made quite a good team. Yes, I know, Potter will still remain stupid to me, but I think that we make a pretty good team with the Marauders. At least to get out of detention. Although, we could become a team again...

Oh, who am I kidding? I despise the Marauders.

However, all their latest pranks have given me an idea for pranking beefy Slughorn. That old moose is such a disgrace to Slytherins worldwide.

I was thinking that Malfoy and I could play a few pranks on that disgraceful teacher. But not one of those petty little Marauder pranks. This is going to be much different. Much bigger. (Hopefully, he'll even consider retiring, that old slug.)

Sadly, I knew that I couldn't do this prank alone. Yes, I know, I am seriously good at potions, but I also know that the Maruaders may be of some use. Just this once, we can be a team.

I repeat:

Just.

This.

Once.

"No way! We are never going to do that!" protested Malfoy. I was explaining the plan that I had in mind to him, but he would not agree on working with the Marauders.

"Do you think that I enjoy this fact?! No, no I do not. But they will be of great use to us, Malfoy," I said calmly, but strictly.

Malfoy thought about it, and finally he agreed.

"Fine," he mumbled, "So should we tell them about this now?"

"Yes," I replied, "That we should."

Skip ahead five minutes and thirty - three seconds, and picture us in the Marauders' dormitory.

Potter and the rest of their filthy gang were discussing Charms homework as we walked in. When they saw us, they were still as surprised as they were when they saw us before (that's a story to explain another day). Black walked towards us, and boasted "Came here to thank us again?" while puffing up his chest.

Malfoy pushed him aside, and he landed on his bed, astonished.

"No, you idiots," I said matter - of - factly, "We're here to discuss a prank with you."

Black and Potter started laughing (or possibly guffawing), while Pettigrew and Lupin looked plainly surprised.

In between fits of laughter, Black managed to sputter "You?! A prank?! With us?!"

Potter nodded, but he was still collapsed in fits of laughter.

Malfoy and I remained expressionless, evidently ignoring this blatant disruption.

"We were thinking we could team up to prank Slughron," I said plainly, still ignoring the laughter that followed.

"Just this once," Malfoy added.

Finally, Black and Potter stopped laughing.

"Why?" Potter asked, and Black leaned against the wall and stared at us suspiciously.

"Just because," Malfoy responded, while Lupin rolled his eyes.

"As if! You hate us, and trust me, the feeling is mutual, but that doesn't matter right now! What matters is your increasingly odd behaviour," Lupin said with a slight smirk. Pettigrew raised an eyebrow at us.

I rolled my eyes, and Malfoy and I shared a nod. We knew what we had to do.

"Accio Veritaserum," I said, sighing, and a bottle of veritaserum flew to my wand from under Remus's bed. Potter was shocked.

"How did you-" he started angrily.

"I have my ways," I replied. Then, I reluctantly took a sip of the veritaserum. I could feel power surging in my veins, and suddenly all I could think of was to tell the truth.

I mean, the truth was the best way to go! It was better than lying. I had to speak the truth.

"Do you actually want to play a prank with us, or are you trying to use us?" I could hear a calm voice, but I couldn't make out who it was. All I could think of was to tell the truth.

So I did.

"I want to team up with you," I said plainly, my voice sounding a little robotic.

Then, I could hear another voice. This one was more jumpy and playful, and it asked me "Do you actually like Lily?"

I knew my answer immediately.

Before I responded, I could hear the calm voice again. It scolded the other voice, saying "James!", but the playful voice continued to laugh.

"Yes, I do. I truly, truly love-"

But before I could say anything more, a hand was clamped over my mouth, and I couldn't speak.

Then, all I could see was black.

I woke up, and everything flooded back to me. However, I couldn't remember anything that happened when I drank the veritaserum.

I saw the Marauders and Malfoy hovering over me, and I asked Malfoy "How bad was it?"

"I stopped you before you made any regrettable mistakes," he said gravely.

I was a little reassured, but I couldn't help but glare at Black and Potter.

"Happy now?" I snapped at them. They all nodded.

"Now, let's discuss tactics. We have to be careful not to get detention this time, though," Potter said, a little more serious now.

We all agreed. Detention was a definite NO.

I repeated the plan multiple times in my head, but I knew what I needed to do. We all had different parts in this plan. My job was to mix up the labels of all the bottles, so that fatty Slughorn couldn't make out which bottle was which. Malfoy was to keep lookout, but we decided that since lookout was quite boring (unless someone actually passed by and you had to stall them), Malfoy and I would switch every few minutes or so.

Potter was to graffiti the walls with some paint he brought from home (yes, I know, who brings paint from home?!) He claimed that he thought it would be useful in a later prank that they were going to use, but I had no words for him.

Lupin (yes, he was somehow involved in this prank) was to create an exploding potion. He was going to add the last ingredient in after we were finished with the prank, and we were to all run outside and escape.

Pettigrew was going to help Potter graffiti the walls. After all, there was no other job that the brat was capable of, was there?

As I mixed up the bottles, I was careful not to miss any. Slughorn had tons and tons of potions, and it was hard to mix up all of them. I was about halfway done when Malfoy came into view. He told me that we were to switch, and I quickly explained the bottles I had mixed up, and the bottles he was to do.

He looked a little bemused, but we had no time to explain things in proper detail. I left him there, and I carefully scanned the hallway. I spotted Dumbledore walking towards our room, and I panicked a little. I acted like I was walking the other direction and I intentionally slammed into him.

"Sorry, Professor!" I exclaimed in (mock) surprise.

He tilted his head to the side, and he said "It's all good, Severus. I was just going to visit Professor Slughorn,"

"He's not in his room," I said a little too fast.

"Is that so?" Dumbledore asked, a little suspiciously.

I leveled my voice. "I had visited his office a few minutes ago, and he wasn't there."

"Thank you, Severus," Dumbledore responded, and I grew calm. He walked away from his room, and I made my way back to Slughorn's room. As I reached the door again, I spotted Lily. She was walking towards Slughorn's office, and I confronted her.

"Hey, Lily!"

"Hey! I'm headed to Slughorn's, but I'll be right back," she said.

"No! I mean, uh, he's not there. Check… uh… McGonagall's. He might be there," I said.

Lily looked a little surprised, but she nodded.

"Okay, thanks," she replied, and left, giving me a small wave.

I let out a relieved sigh, and I went back to Slughorn's room. Malfoy, Potter, and Pettigrew were done with their parts. Lupin was still holding on to the last ingredient of the exploding potion, and we all nodded to one another. He put the ingredient in and BAM! We all evacuated the room. Before we were about to part ways, we all shared a smile with each other.
