Chapter 17
Once outside the Cerulean City Gym, Ash recalls Charizard and rings the doorbell. He wanted to call Misty, but he didn't know what to say, so he opted for the doorbell. The door swings open and Ash is tackled into a hug. It is currently 9PM and the girl should be sleeping, Ash wonders. However, he is happy to see the little girl too and picks her up to hug her while Pikachu nuzzles her face.
"You came back! Like you promised!" exclaims the 4 year old.
Ash gives her a smile. "Of course I did!"
"Clementine Violet Waterflower! What have I told you about opening the door, especially at night!" Clementine shrinks in Ash's arms, and Ash's nervousness returns. Misty arrives at the front door and gives the man a surprised look. "Oh hey, Ash. I thought you went home?"
He tries to give her a smile. "Uh yeah. I uh, wanted to see you two first."
"Cerulean City is out of the way from Pallet Town, Ash." Misty crosses her arms as the man walks in. He sets Clementine down and Pikachu hops on her head.
"Hey, Clem. Pikachu's very tired from the trip. Can you take him to bed?" Ash asks as he squats down to her eye level. With a spark in her eyes, the girl runs upstairs with Pikachu. The man then turns his attention back to the annoyed looking redhead behind him.
"What are you doing here?"
"Can we talk in your room?"
""Uh uh, Ash. I am not in the mood for a quickie just because you're horny."
Ash rolls his eyes. "No, Mist. Not that. Can we please talk in private?" Misty sensing the urgency in his voice agrees and leads him into her room. He locks the door behind him. Both stand looking at each other. Ash sighs and then pulls out the test from his pocket. Before he can even show the redhead, she gasps and darts to her desk chair where her bag from the Indigo Plateau is sitting.
She hadn't unpacked it yet and dumps the contents on the bed where Ash sees two more tests. She digs through the dirty clothes and realizes there are only 2 tests. "Shit." She mumbles. Ash peeks over her and sees the other two tests each have 2 lines on them.
"So it's true," he says. Misty looks at him. She can't read him. He's stoic and his voice is monotone.
She sighs and grabs a small envelope out from her desk draw. She hands it to him. He gives her a confused look before taking the envelope and opening it. He pulls out a few little black pictures and studies them. Misty watches him nervously while still unable to read his expression. After some time, his chocolate orbs meet her cerulean green ones and his face breaks out into a huge grin.
"I'm going to be a dad!" He yells loudly. Misty covers her ears, but Ash grabs her and spins her. He lays her on the bed and kisses her deeply. He then moves down and kisses her stomach. "I love you so much already!" he exclaims, which makes his girlfriend laugh. Ash then darts his attention back to her face and kisses her again. She can still feel the smile on his face as he kisses her and she can't help but kiss him back with the same intensity. Ash pushes the clothes and Misty's bag off the bed and gets on top of her as she starts tugging his shirt off. Soon enough, the two are finally able to celebrate Ash's win as well as the addition of a future member.
The Next Morning
Whenever Misty is with Ash, she tends to oversleep. She wakes up to see she is enveloped in her boyfriend's strong tan arms. The redhead can't help but snuggle into them, which makes Ash open his eyes.
"Morning." He groggily greets her.
"Morning." She replies with a smile. She kisses him and he returns it weakly before drifting back to sleep. Misty giggles at him. "You know." She says. He tiredly raises an eyebrow while his eyes remain closed. "It sounds like we have some time before we have to get up." Ash instantly opens his eyes and looks down at Misty's blushing cheeks. He gives her a mischievous grin before kissing her.
An hour later, the couple had showered (together) and finally made their way downstairs. Lily is watching reality TV while Clementine is playing with Pikachu. At the sound of the footsteps, she jumps up and hugs her aunt and uncle. "Hi Auntie Misty! Hi Uncle Ashy!" she says. Ash smiles and picks her up.
"Hello, Clem! You look beautiful today." Ash kisses her cheek. The little girl giggles and clings onto his neck. Ash looks at Misty and raises his eyebrows while mouthing some things to Misty.
"I already know." Lily says as her eyes stay glued on the TV. "Congrats."
Ash returns his attention to his girlfriend who nods. He then points to the girl in his arms, and Misty shakes her head no. The couple smile at each other and Ash calls Pikachu to follow as they head up to the master bedroom.
"Where are we going, Uncle Ash?" asks the curious girl.
"It's a surprise." the man replies. He then sets her down on the edge of the bed. Pikachu hops up into her lap. Ash pulls out Misty's desk chair for the woman as he bends down on one knee in front of Clementine.
"Clem." Misty starts. The bluenette looks at her aunt worriedly. "You're going to be a big cousin." smiles the redhead. Clementine seems to process the sentence for a few seconds, but Pikachu instantly gets it and tackles Misty into a hug.
"Pikachupi!" he nuzzles her cheek.
"I'm going to be a big cousin!" screams the girl. The adults and Pikachu look at her as she jumps off the bed and into Misty's arms. "Yay! Is it a girl or a boy?"
At this question, Ash also looks at Misty. "Um. It's too early. I don't know yet." the woman tells the bubbly girl.
"I hope it's a girl!" Clementine says. She then hugs Ash who welcomes the tight hug.
"I hope it's a boy. I feel outnumbered." The man recalls as Misty has 2 sisters and he has his mother.
Misty smiles. "I'm happy as long as the baby is healthy." she says.
After spending the day together, Misty suggests they go to Pallet Town the next day to tell Ash's mother the good news. Ash shyly tells her that it was his mother who informed him about the pregnancy test. To this, Misty believes since she doubts her boyfriend even knows pregnancy tests exist. The three drive off to Pallet Town while Lily stays at the gym.
