It was about half an hour later that Heavy was allowed to leave the briefing room after being drilled about his part in the defense of the base and how well he knows Starlight. The others in his squad had left before all of that. He had been ordered to stay behind specifically so that the Generals could discuss it with him. Finally being dismissed for the superior officers to discuss his fate Heavy started towards the mess because he was hungry.

This made Heavy's mind drift to Starlight and all of the times that they ate together. That had stopped while her brothers were sick, but if one of them was awake maybe she would leave them alone for a while to eat with him. Turning towards the medical bay he resolved to find out.

When he reached to door he paused for a moment, straightening his armor and wondering why he was like this before pressing the open mechanism. He stepped in to see Starlight pulling a blanket higher over Burns chest and turning to reassure a thrashing Deadshot. The Vanglorian started to quiet at her touch, and was soon calm again. Looking up to see who was in the doorway, Starlights tired face lit up and she smiled at him before quickly crossing the distance to stand in front of him. He could see the question in her eyes and answered, "I was wondering if you could spare some time to eat."

"And have more time to memorize each others faces?" came a teasing voice from behind Starlight. Heavy felt his face slightly redden as he realized that there was another person conscious in the room. Looking at Standing Bear Heavy was trying to find what to say when the other spoke first, "Yes Star, I think that we can handle some time without you here. Go ahead and have a break."

Starlight quickly crossed to her brother and gave him a quick hug. Heavy felt like he should say something, "Don't worry, I'll make sure she doesn't get lost."

It was a weak attempt at a joke and Standing Bear answered, "See to it that she doesn't. I may be injured but there is nothing wrong with my aim."

Heavy didn't know if that was a joke or not. But he couldn't help noticing that there were three knives and five blasters within reach on the older mans beside table. Deciding it was better not to push it Heavy saluted before pressing the button to open the door and gesturing for Starlight to go through in front of him. She was grinning and Heavy realized that it was nice to be able to spend time with her again.
