The last thing I remembered upon waking up, was the light engulfing me on my journey back home. I had learned so many things over the past few moments, and my mind was in a state of disrepair. It took me a while to regain conciousness, unsurprisingly. What did surprise me however, was the view I got when I opened my eyes. I seemed to be sitting on an old wooden chair, with Genesis on the right and Lazard to the left of me, with Zack standing before us. "Shinra attacked us." Was that Lazard speaking? He sounded so weak... "Save your strength." I said quietly, unable to move my body, my eyes half open. "I got some help.. from him, over there." I followed Lazard's hand as he pointed towards an Angeal copy. I saw Zack walking over and kneeling down next to it. Once he saw Angeal's face upon it, he gasped. "Its you.." As if on que, the moment Zack stood back up, Lazard's arms fell limp next to his body. "Lazard...?" I asked him weakly, but I couldn't turn my head to look at him. "Director!" Zack ran over and knelt down in front of Lazard, but even I could tell what had just happened. Director Lazard was no more. "Zack.. I think.. He's found peace now."

"Kirana! You're awake! You can talk!" I chuckled and smiled. I guess he hadn't heard me before now. "Yeah..."

"Wait here. I'll be back, I promise!"

A few minutes passed since Zack left, during that time I tried moving my body again. After pushing myself off of the chair, I tried to sit down next to Genesis, and see if he was alright. Unfortunately, he didn't seem very responsive. I sighed to myself and leaned against his shoulder. When would this misery ever end?

"I'm back. Here, take this." Zack said. I chuckled. I didn't even notice he had returned. "Take what?" Zack smiled and walked over. "This." Zack picked up my hand and placed something in it. Was that, a Dumbapple? I watched Zack as he moved around giving the others Dumbapple's too. Once he was done, he stood before us and raised his apple in the air as he spoke. "Okay, let's eat! Sorry, I'm not the real thing, but.." I smiled and tried to take a bite out of my apple, but I halted my movements once I felt Genesis stir beside me. "Is it good?" He asked weakly. Zack and I shared a gasp once Genesis spoke up. "Yeah."

"The gift of the goddess." Zack stared at his apple in disbelieve. "This apple?" Genesis shook his head in disapproval. "Angeal.. The dream, came true.." I sighed as I turned to face Director Lazard. Once I did I couldn't look away, he was vanishing into thin air. He was really gone this time. A few seconds later the Angeal copy vanished before us as well. Once it had completely disappeared, a note was left behind on the ground. Zack walked over to pick it up and gasped when he read it. "Zack?"

"It.. It's from Aerith." The flower girl? How did the Angeal copy get a letter from her? After reading through the letter, Zack whispered to himself. "Four years?"

"Four years?!" Zack dropped his apple and yelled from the top of his lungs. "What do you mean final!"

"Zack?" I asked him in confusion. Zack sighed and handed me the letter. My vision was still cloudy, but I could make out most of the words.

"How are you? I wish I knew where you were. It's already been four years now. This is the 89th letter that I've sent to you, but I don't even know where to send them anymore.. I really hope that this final letter that I am writing gets to you.

By the way, the flowers are selling very well. They make everyone so happy - Thanks to you, Zack!

- Aerith."

Did this mean.. Four years? Had we really been test subjects for that long? "Aerith.. Wait for me." Zack rushed over towards me. "Can you walk?" I smiled as I took his hand and stood up, holding onto the chair with my other hand for support. "Midgar it is then?" Zack nodded and started to walk towards the motorcycle, where Cloud waited for us. "Zack." He stopped and turned to face me. "What about Genesis?" Zack sighed and shook his head. "He'll be all right. I just know he will be." Would he be all right? Could I really leave him here? I turned back to look at him and sighed. I didn't want to leave him behind, but I had a mission to complete. "Give me a moment." I said as I knelt down next to Genesis. "I'm so sorry." I said as I raised my hand and caressed his cheek. Even though he was unconscious, I still felt him lean in to my touch. I smiled and reached up to my neck. I took off my dog tags and placed them in Genesis's hands, closing them thightly. There was no turning back for us now.
