Hi everyone! Hope everyone is safe and healthy. Here is a small update. It did not turn out as I was hoping but it will have to be good enough

We're at the end of the line
She keeps me from closing my eyes
Keeps me from sleeping at night
Don't let me go
We've been talking awhile
Looking at everything bright
Wrote and she asks me, I'm fine
Just don't let me go
There came a time when you where the only one
You were the only one
The only one
Maybe I could be your only prize
Maybe you would light it wide
Even when I've fallen back
You still believe I tried
Maybe we could be a symphony
And maybe I could learn to play
You could write that story
While I just ride the wave
We're at the end of the line
She keeps me from holding her tight
Trying to make sure she's fine
Don't let me go
We took hundred steps back
How you said goodbye was sad
Now when I think of it add, "please let me go"
There came a time when you were the only one
You were the only one
The only one
Maybe I could be your only prize
Maybe you would light it wide
Even when I've fallen back
You still believe I tried
Maybe we could be a symphony
And maybe I could learn to play
You could ride that story
While I just ride the wave
But life is never like that
But life is never like that
She took me in and now I feel
Still know life's never like that
Life's never like that, life's never like that
Maybe I could be your only prize
Maybe you would light it wide
Even when I've fallen back
You still believe I tried
Maybe we could be a symphony
And maybe I could learn to play
You could write that story
While I just ride the wave
While I just ride the wave
Jacob unconsciously rubbed at the burning in his chest. He had spent the last hour trying to pretend it was just premature heart burn. Leah shifted against his side again as he disrupted her sleep again. He sighed quietly and tugged her closer to him, trying to maneuver her over his chest to help aid the stinging.
"Jake" she mumbled sleepily. "Go see her."
Jake felt his lips curl in a sad smile. Of course, she would be understanding again. He really truly did not deserve her. He tucked a stand of silky hair behind her ear before shuffling out from under her.
"You sure Lee?" he whispered out into the silent room. Leah grumbled quietly before waving her hand in the air, shooing him. Jacob tugged a pair of shorts on before slipping quietly out the window.
The walk to the Cullen's was quiet, the cool night giving Jacob's chest the relief from the pressure that had been slowly suffocating him all night. On approach down the drive, the front door wrenched open with a very anxious Bella Cullen.
"Jacob!" Bella sped down the steps before throwing herself at him. He noticed the wrinkled nose as she picked up on the she wolf's scent. "Thank goodness you're here!" She pulled back from him before ushering him into the house. There he was greeted by the silence.
"What's going on?" he asked panicked while looking around for Nessie. He couldn't pick up on anyone else's scent.
"They're in Alaska. We were to head up there tomorrow after our visit with Charlie but Alice just called! She said there are nomads headed to forks! "Bella hiccupped while grasping at his hands desperately.
"What do they want Bells?" Jacob could feel the concern for Nessie creep up his throat and tighten his air way.
"We have no idea. But Jacob you have to come with us please! We are heading to Seattle. Edward is meeting us there first thing in the morning when his plane lands. "
Jacob felt his mouth open but no words came. He tried to process the next steps while his body screamed at him
Protect Nessie
"Please Jacob! Nessie needs you. I'm so worried they're looking for her and I just can't imagine trying to protect her myself. Please!" She begged while throwing her arms around his waist
Jacob's initial reasons to hesitate slowly disappeared while the concern from Bella slowly bled into him. He had to get them out of there.
"Of course, yes of course Bells" Jacob held her gently before pulling back and ushering her to the cabin. There they quietly packed while Nessie slept soundly in her bed. Jacob waited until everything had been loaded into the car before waking her. Her deep brown eyes blinked in confusion before she looked around for her mother.
"Ness, I need you to get up and come with me and mom. We're going on a little trip. " Her brows wrinkled in confusion before she placed her hand on his cheek. Flashes of confusion flickered before his vision.
"I know Ness but we have to go. Now." He scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the back seat. Once she was secure and buckled he slid into the driver's seat and waited for Bella to hurry to the opposite side.
He was in drive and flying down the highway before his thoughts finally caught up to him. He knew Leah would be confused but he'd call her as soon as they were settled in the hotel, His eyes flickered up to the mirror to peer at his sleeping imprint. Her head lolled to one side while her chest moved with quiet breaths. Bella's fingers were quickly tapping against the screen of her cell phone while she exchanged information with Alice.
"She says we should be fine. She can't see them tracking us to Seattle so we should be in the clear." Jacob felt the tension slowly slip out of his shoulders while he pressed the gas. A little more distance couldn't hurt.
The time flew by and Jacob felt disoriented when they finally pulled into the lot of the hotel. They quickly checked in, ignoring the quiet stares of the staff. Obviously they were to intimidated to try and reinforce the no shirt policy. Finally, in their suite, one that Jacob had only seen the likes of in movies, he felt around in his cut offs for his phone.
"Fuck" he whispered in agitation.
"Jacob! Language!" Bella scolded while nodding at his imprint who was too focused on her novel to really pay him any mind. Jacob rolled his eyes while he continued to search for his phone. Cursing silently this time, he admitted defeat and mentally prepared for the scolding he would receive from his girlfriend.
Girlfriend.
The title made Jacob smile while warmth filled his heart. The Leah clearwater was his girlfriend.
"for now" he whispered while silently praying she wouldn't be too mad at him for going MIA .
Jacob settled next to Nessie, calmly stroking her hair as she read. She wiggled closer to him and nestled into his warmth. He could feel Bella watching them silently. Taking in every detail of their interaction. He assumed she was still hell bent on trying to keep him from Leah. He sighed while he looked around the room for a distraction. He needed to get his mind of the impending ass kicking he was sure to receive from Leah when he got home. The sound of the elevator alerted him to Edwards presence before the scent hit him. Bella skipped to the door before throwing herself dramatically at her husband. He kissed her quickly and slowly moved around her. Bella scoffed in annoyance before watching the vampire male curiously.
"Jacob." The look on Edward's face made his stomach sink as a cell phone was held out. Jacob grabbed it quickly before peering at the screen filled with notifications.

Where the Fuck is Jacob?! Cullen we can't reach him we need him now!
" Oh god. " Jacob's knees buckled as Edward reached forward to catch him.
"Jacob, Carlisle is there. I haven't had an update, but you need to get home." Edward spoke quietly and calmly to him while grabbing his shoulders.
Jacob felt the pounding in his ears. He felt like he was going to vomit. How could he have been so fucking stupid?! Leah's jealousy shouldn't have been his concern. Why hadn't he thought about the pack and their safety. They hadn't even crossed his mind. His family's lives had been put at stake.
He didn't look back while he ran for the door.
