'Congratulations on getting all three pendants! Completing the three temples is no easy feat! Now hurry on to the Lost Woods and take the Master Sword!' Sahasrahla says, psychically.
'Alright! And then I can defeat Agahnim, right?' Link asks.
'With the Master Sword in hand, I can't see why you wouldn't be victorious!' Sahasrahla says.
Link quickly traverses Death Mountain again. The Lost Woods are very close to the cave exit so it doesn't take any time at all. The woods are dark as only a little bit of light can get through the dense tree leaves. The sudden cold gives Link the chills.
"Now which way is it to the Master Sword...?" Link wonders out loud.
"Hey kid! Get out of my woods!" a voice calls out.
Link looks around and, at first, does not notice anybody.
"I'm on a quest... I'm seeking the Master Sword! If you can tell me where it is, I'll get out of here quickly!" Link says.
A scruffy looking man in a ripped olive green hoodie appears.
"I don't owe you any information! If anything, you owe me for intruding!" the man says, "So give me your money, now!"
"I... I don't even have that much money... If you help me, I'll give you what I have," Link says.
The thief sighs and says, "Fine... Follow me..."
"Thank you!" Link says.
He follows the thief through the woods for a bit and through a large hollow log tunnel. They reach a rather small meadow in the woods with a tiny pedestal. In the tiny pedestal is a small sword.
"There you have it! It's the Master Sword!" the thief announces.
"Oh! Thanks!" Link says.
He hands the thief 59 Rupees and then pulls the sword out of the pedestal.
"Huh... I kind of expected it to be a bit more fantastic... This looks flimsier than my uncle's sword..." Link says, "Are you sure that...hey! Where did you go?!"
The thief is gone and so is Link's wallet.
"THAT WASN'T NICE!" Link wails.
Link throws the fake Master Sword and then sits in the grass, crying. After a few minutes, a long dark shadow moves across the ground towards Link.
"Hey... Why are you crying?" a voice calls out.
"Huh?" Link asks.
He sniffles and wipes his tears, looking around.
"Are you lost?" the voice asks.
The shadow shifts and sits still next to Link.
"W-What are you...?" Link asks.
"I'm a Hylian, or, I was a Hylian. I'm stuck in the Dark World," the voice says.
"Really? Then how come I can see your shadow?" Link asks.
"I don't know, honestly. Nobody else seems to notice me," the shadow says.
"I was in the Dark World just earlier," Link says.
"And you escaped? Wow!" the shadow says, "You must be special... Anyhow... If you're lost, I might be able to help."
"I'm looking for the Master Sword. I doubt you'll see it in the Dark World..." Link says.
"Ah... But I do know where it is..." the shadow says, "Follow me, and I'll take you there! It's the most I can do."
"Alright, thanks," Link says.
The shadow gets up and slides across the ground. Link follows after the shadow, going through various log tunnels. Eventually, the shadow stands before a large and grand looking pedestal with Ancient Hylia text written on it.
"Is this it?" the shadow asks.
"Sure is! Thanks!" Link says.
"No problem!" the shadow says and bounds away.
"Let's see... What does this say?" Link asks, pulling out the book of Mudora, "Ye who wields the three Pendants, stand here and draw the sword of evil's bane, but beware, the beginning of the apocalypse."
Link stands there a moment looking dumbfounded.
"So... I need to draw the sword to save Zelda, but drawing the sword will end the world? That's cute..." Link says.
'It must be done. You are the hero of legend,' Sahasrahla says.
'But I don't want to destroy the world!' Link whines.
'Link, it is I, Zelda...' Zelda says psychically.
'Zelda, I'm so confused!' Link cries out.
'Link, don't be confused... If you act fast enough, you can stop the apocalypse before it causes any harm... If you do nothing, the world will end anyways...' Zelda explains, 'Please hurry, I sense a great deal of dark energy approaching...'
'Okay, Zelda. I trust you,' Link says.
He approaches and places his hands on the hilt of the sword. With a deep breath, he yanks the sword out of the pedestal. A brilliant light shines around the blade and whooshes through the trees. The fog dissipates and the sun shines brilliantly.
'Link! You've done it! Now you have the power to stop Agahnim! Go, now, Link!' Sahasrahla announces.
"I'm on my way!" Link says.
He puts Uncle Alfon's sword in the pedestal gently.
"Uncle Alfon... I'm going to make you proud..." Link says.
Link turns and dashed through the trees only to be halted by another psychic message.
'Link! Help! Something terrible is happening! It's Agahnim! He has found us! AIYEEEEEEEE!'
'Zelda!' Link cries out.
He runs faster towards the sanctuary. However, as fast as he is going, it still takes some time to get there. He throws the doors to the sanctuary open and finds the ornamental shelf has been moved. Lying on the ground injured is the pastor and Princess Zelda is nowhere in sight.
"Sir! What happened?!" Link asks, tearing up.
"You're... a few seconds too late... Link... I... I tried to stop him... Agahnim took Zelda... She's in the castle tower... Please... Save her..." the pastor says, coughing weakly.
"Please don't die!" Link wails.
The pastor does not reply, he just starts to fade away.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Link wails.
Link gets to his feet and wipes his tears angrily.
"I'm going to destroy Agahnim! First he takes my uncle, and then the pastor, and next it will be the princess!" Link says.
He runs into the passage way that has been left open, deciding that the sewer path is the quickest way back into the castle. As usual, the sewer is stinky and full of rats, snakes, and bats. Link pays little attention to them, just trying to make it to the castle before it is too late.
He reaches the other end and shoves the ornamental shelf aside. As soon as the possessed guards see him, they charge at him with their swords which almost seem sharper than before. Thinking quickly, Link draws the Master Sword and swings it. Blasts of energy fly out of the tip and destroy the guards on contact.
"Whoa! Laser beams! I've never seen a sword with laser beams before!" Link exclaims excitedly.
Then, getting back to the task at hand, he runs and finds the stairs. He takes them and finds himself on the roof of the castle.
"I'm coming, Zelda!" Link cries out.
In front of the door to the main tower is an electrical barrier.
"Oh, I bet that would hurt to touch..." Link says.
Being smart, he slashes the energy gate with his new sword. The barrier dispels and the door is now accessible.
"Just need to climb a few more floors..." Link says.
The adrenaline keeps Link going, in any other situation, he'd have been worn out by now. There are so many guards in the tower and they have all been expecting Link to show up. The first two he encounters nearly decapitate him with their heavy ball and chains. The Master Sword is significantly stronger than the fighter sword and it only takes about 8 swings to each guard to defeat them.
"I'm going to be late! Stop attacking me!" Link yells, rushing through a room full of red guards with pitchforks.
At last, Link reaches the top just in time to see Agahnim standing over Princess Zelda who is unconscious and lying on a table.
"Hoh hoh hoh hoh... Young lad! You're just in time!" Agahnim says.
"L-leave Zelda alone!" Link yells, gripping the Master Sword.
"I am just about to make your precious princess disappear before your very eye!" Agahnim says.
Link tries to slash at Agahnim, but there appears to be a magical barrier preventing the beams from touching him. Using magic, Agahnim causes Princess Zelda to float above the table. He chants in the Ancient Hylian language and, in a flash, Princess Zelda is gone.
"Hah, hah, hah! I win!" Agahnim cries out and teleports behind the curtains, "Come and get me if you wish to die as well!"
"YOU will die!" Link yells.
He charges forward and slashes the fancy curtains down with his sword, revealing a secret room.
