Isabella - IPOV

I just got send on my first mission. Thank god that Demetri, Alec, Jane and Felix will be joining me. We all go to our rooms to quickly pack an overnight bag and make our way to the airport. We board the jet and Demetri pulls me close to him.

"Are you ready for this, cara mia?"

You bet I am. All those weeks of training are finally going to be of use. I'll show everyone that I'm not a member of the guard, because Demetri is my mate. I'm going to prove that I'm worthy of the name Volturi. Just you watch and see. My Demetri will have the mate that he deserves.

I love how Demetri purrs when he's happy, and our kiss is filled with passion. I can hear Felix laughing about something but decide to ignore him. When Demetri says that he loves me, I tease him by saying that I love him more. I lie down in his lap and he strokes my hair the entire flight.

In Seattle we meet one of the Volturi contacts and we set out for the harbor. We locate the newborns and two adult vampires in a warehouse. My shield is protecting all five of us perfectly. We are able to asses everything without being noticed. I can't believe the humans did not notice this.

Felix voices my thoughts out loud and I can see that the rest is thinking the same thing. Demetri starts talking tactics and I listen carefully. He tells me to start a fire, it's a small task compared to the others, but I don't object. He pulls my hood back up to shield my face and with that, the five of us walk into the warehouse. I can see Demetri clenching his fists as if he wants to grab me and protect me. He's so cute when he's protective of me.

My attention is pulled to the twenty-four vampires in front of us, now that they have noticed our presence. I can see the two elder vampires walking toward us and I swallow a growl, when I recognize Victoria and Laurent. Thank god I'm wearing my hood. I shiver when I hear Victoria's voice; it's even more annoying now that I'm a vampire.

"To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit? No laws were broken here."

I stare at the two vampires in front of me. All their attention is directed at Demetri. I notice Alec's mist forming all around the warehouse and I understand why Demetri keeps them talking. I take another look at Victoria and see her eyeing Demetri; she even has the audacity to lick her lips before offering herself to him. Oh no, you bitch, he's mine!

Demetri calls her stupid, but I've got a bunch of others words that describe her much better, starting with whore. I calm myself when Victoria starts explaining why she built her army, and that makes me add the words liar and delusional to her description. I see Demetri's hands move behind his back and he signals Alec to bring in the mist. I know that it's show time, when I hear him say:

"Stupid, delusional and misinformed, that's what you are. We'll continue this conversation after we dispose of your army. Just give us a minute."

Victoria looks surprised when she sees the mist moving inward and starts screaming at one of the newborns to mind control Alec. I check my shield and see it's still neatly wrapped around him and the rest of us. I smile when the mist cuts Victoria's senses off. I quickly start the fire in a corner of the warehouse and the boys start throwing in the dismembered newborns.

I move back to Alec and Jane, and stare at the ground. I'm quite certain that when I take one look at Victoria, I'll end up tearing her head off. She lusted for what's mine. Demetri is my mate, she will never have him. Suddenly I feel Demetri standing beside me; he takes my hood off and tilts my head so that he can look into my eyes.

"Tell me what you feel, cara mia."

"I'm beyond angry; it's taking up every bit of my control not to rip her head off. How dare she make a pass at you? You're mine!"

He chuckles and nuzzles my mark. I'm his and he's mine, our bond cannot be broken. I instantly relax and smile when he tells me that the fact that she wants to kill me, is also a good reason to eliminate her. I don't care what reason we use, she just needs to burn. We take in our positions once more and Alec retracts his mist. Victoria recognizes me and tries to lunge at me. Jane has her engulfed in pain immediately. Laurent looks like he's seen a ghost. Alec picks up Victoria and holds her down.

Demetri looks furious and his voice is menacing when he starts talking to them. His words make Victoria quiver. Every time he calls me his mate, the horror in her eyes increases. She pissed off Demetri Volturi and he protects what is his. The Volturi don't give second chances and we can see the resignation in their eyes. Felix takes Laurent's head of and Demetri does the same with Victoria. He offers me her head, I throw it into the fire and watch it burn. Alex and Felix dispose of the rest of her and Laurent. Demetri calls Aro and we're all waiting to go home. I almost go into shock when I hear Aro say:

Demetri - DPOV

Oh no, he did not just say that. Why would we want them anywhere near Isabella? I can feel my anger building and I can see the same emotion on the faces of Alec, Jane and Felix. Isabella looks rather shocked; it's a good thing that vampires can't faint. I'm so focused on my mate, that I almost miss Aro's next remark.

"When you locate them, you and Jane are to talk to them. Felix, Alec and Isabella are to stay back. I want them to keep their hood up the entire time, only you and Jane can reveal your face. I don't want them knowing that Isabella is still alive, not yet anyway. Isabella's shield will ensure that Edward can't read your mind.

I would send only one of you if I wasn't so worried that Edward would somehow pick up on the fact that she's alive. If they ask questions about the new member, just dismiss it. They're not in a position to ask questions anyway. After that, you can return home without delay."

I can see the relief on Isabella's face and the others look less murderous than a minute ago. I recall the essence of Carlisle and track him down. I'm surprised to find out that they are back in Forks. I do the same for the rest of the traitors and find them in the same location. Well, at least we won't be chasing them around Northern America for days.

"They're in Forks. We need a car and we need to feed."

Felix nods and runs off to find a car. I pull Isabella close and kiss her hair. She sighs and leans into the embrace, while deeply inhaling my scent.

"They won't recognize you, cara mia. We'll make sure of it."

We can hear a car rushing toward us and make our way outside. Felix found us a nice black SUV and we get in so that he can drive us to Forks. Jane keeps complaining about not wanting to go near the bunny-loving, deer-munching vampires and I can feel that Isabella is trying not to laugh. Alec notices too and decides to annoy his sister by singing 'Animals' by Maroon 5. Isabella doubles over, laughing out loud, and Felix is grinning like crazy. I throw Alec a thankful smile for breaking the ice and he gives me an understanding nod back.

Right before we enter Port Angeles, Felix decides that it's time to hunt. We leave the car by the side of the road, split up and agree to meet up west of town, by the river. Isabella and I run to the outskirts of town and I let her listen to the sounds. I keep looking at her beautiful face, her eyes closed in concentration. Suddenly her eyes flick open and she whispers:

"Drug dealers to the north-west, two of them."

"It's time for you to buy some drugs, tesoro."

Isabella's eyes shine from excitement, she loves to role-play. She nods and speeds of, with me right behind her. She gives me kiss, before walking up to the guys.

"Hey boys, what does a girl need to do to get some snow in this town?"

I can hear them laugh and I can almost smell their lust for my mate. I look into the alley and see one of them trying to feel her ass. I have him pinned to the wall before he knows what hit him. I growl at him and snap his neck. The other guy looks terrified and tries to run away. Isabella lunges at him and breaks his neck, before draining him. We keep staring at each other while I also drain my victim. We throw their bodies in a dumpster and burn them. I pull her close and whisper in her ear:

"Hey girl, what does a guy need to do to get some love in this town?"

Her eyes turn black instantly and she starts unbuttoning my jeans. Before I have time to react, my pants and boxers are on my ankles and Isabella has her hands wrapped around my member. She gets down on her knees and starts stroking it. I moan loud and put my hands in her hair, slowly pulling her head closer to me. God, this woman is like my dream come true. She runs her tongue from the base to the tip, before swirling her tongue around the head. She has me moaning her name with every movement, I won't last long. She's simply divine.

"Isa, you're my goddess… fuck… I'm going to… Isa!"

I pull her into my arms and look at her. I see triumph written all over her face. I kiss her with all the love that I have for her and say:

"You little vixen, I will have to return the favor soon."

"I'm counting on it, Demi."

I snicker and put my clothes back on. It's time to meet up with the others and continue our mission. We find Felix at the river, but Alec and Jane aren't there yet. Felix takes one look at me and grumbles:

"For fuck sake, Demetri, was it impossible to keep your pants on for forty-eight hours? I know you're recently mated, but man, I've got needs too."

I momentarily stunned when Isabella answers:

"You've got hands, there's nothing wrong with helping yourself if the need is high, Felix."

The look on Felix's face has me laughing so hard, venom tears pool in my eyes. Isabella puts on her most innocent look and Felix scowls at her, but refrains from comment. Alec and Jane arrive fifteen minutes later and we start running toward Forks.

I constantly track the Cullens and find them near a big clearing in the woods. We move at vampire speed until we're five miles out and then we stop. We need to make sure no one recognizes Isabella. I don't want them hurting her any more than they already did.

"What is the range of your shield, tesoro? Did Renata test it?"

"It's about one hundred yards, but that was with me only shielding you. Now I have to shield all five of us, so I can't be sure of the distance."

I nod and think about what Isabella said. We can't take any risks. The five of us need to be shielded the whole time.

"Okay, cara mia, you take Alec's hand when we enter the clearing. Stand at the edge with him and Felix. Jane and I will walk forward. The moment your shield gives you trouble, you squeeze Alec's hand. He'll call out to us and we'll stop walking. I don't want them to hear your voice; it's different than they remember but still. What do you think?"

Isabella nods and gives me a kiss. I smile and nuzzle her mark. I take a step back and pull up her hood; Alec and Felix pull up theirs. I make sure that Isabella's face is completely shrouded and Jane checks Felix and Alec, although everyone will recognize Felix due to his size. I look at Jane and she nods, before saying:

"I can't see their faces and I'm looking straight at them, the Cullens will be over one hundred yards away. This will work."

"Okay, let's go then."

Jane and I walk in front and the rest trails behind. I can see the Cullens standing in the clearing from a fair distance; they looked extremely surprised to see us. This is going to be fun. Jane and I walk out into the clearing; I can hear Isabella, Alec and Felix stopping behind us. We walk further into the clearing until we hear Alex say: "Stop". Jane and I freeze immediately.

The Cullens look at us with confusion in their eyes. I raise one brow and wait for Carlisle to speak up. I can see Edward looking at us, frustration all over his face, and the seer is looking completely helpless.

"Demetri, Jane, I'm rather surprised to see you here. To what do we owe this pleasure?"

"A newborn army in Seattle was brought to our attention. We had a rather entertaining conversation with their creators. It seems your coven makes quite the vengeful enemies, Carlisle."

"Yes, Victoria has been quite a persistent enemy. We've been tracking her for months. She was to lead her army here, tonight. Alice saw them leave Seattle and we came here to fight them and destroy them."

Jane smirks a little when she says:

"It seems we rendered you unnecessary. The newborn army was destroyed by us hours ago."

Edward steps forward and says:

"We would have taken care of it. We didn't need your help."

Carlisle intervenes:

"Come now, Edward. The Volturi carried out the law, just as we planned on doing. We should be thankful for their help. At least now, every one of us is safe. But that still does not explain why you came down to Forks to meet us, if you don't mind me saying."

I can see him looking at Felix, Alec and Isabella. I know he has questions but he is relying on Edward and Alice to give him the answers he wants later on. That won't work this time. I regain his attention by saying:

"Aro demands your presence in Volterra. Every member of your coven is to report to him in Volterra on February 21st. Do yourself a favor, don't run. I'll find you and you won't even see me coming."

I smirk when I see the panic on Alice's face. Carlisle answers:

"We will be there. You can rest assured."

Jane sighs and says:

"I'd like to go home, Demetri. If I recall correctly, we have a wedding to attend."

We give the Cullens one final nod and turn to run back to Felix, Alec and Isabella. Just before we reach them, we hear Edward say:

"Who would ever want to marry one of those monsters?"

Carlisle - CPOV

We all stand side by side in the clearing, nobody speaks a word. We're ready to take on Victoria, Laurent and their newborn army. The only thing I hope for is that we all make it out alive. Alice is still having troubles with her visions. She can't see how many are coming and it worries her. Jasper tries calming her with his gift, but that only frustrates her, so he stops trying.

Suddenly we notice movement in the forest north of us and I see five people walking toward us. I'm surprised when I recognize the cloaks of the Volturi guard. Demetri and Jane walk into the clearing; the three others stop at the edge. I notice that two of them are holding hands. That's a strange token of affection for a Volturi guard. I will have to ask Edward what they are thinking. Suddenly one of them says 'stop' what causes Jane and Demetri to stop walking. I collect myself and ask:

"Demetri, Jane, I'm rather surprised to see you here. To what do we owe this pleasure?"

I sigh mentally when Demetri tell me they know about Victoria and her army. That means Aro send them and that was something I wanted to avoid. I ensure them that we are going to take care of it and I wonder if they are here to help. Jane looks rather pleased when she tells us that they already took care of it.

Edward tries to insult them by telling them that we didn't need their help and though I wanted to handle the army situation without alerting the Volturi, I'm glad they intervened and kept my family out of harm's way. What still doesn't explain why they came looking for us.

I take another look at the three guard members in the back. The big one is Felix, there is no doubt about that. I suspect that the other male is Alec, but who is the female member whose hand he's holding. Could it be that Alec found his mate? That is a rare privilege for a guard member. Demetri captures my full attention again when he says:

"Aro demands your presence in Volterra. Every member of your coven is to report to him Volterra on February 21st. Do yourself a favor, don't run. I'll find you and you won't even see me coming."

We would be rather stupid to run from Demetri, he is the best tracker there is and he knows it.

"We will be there. You can rest assured."

Jane looks bored by now and turns to leave, but not before stating that they have a wedding to attend. I can only imagine it to be a wedding between her brother and the woman standing next to him. A wedding in Volterra is a rare occasion, that's for sure. I feel the need to slap Edward when I hear him say:

"Who would ever want to marry one of those monsters?"

Edward - EPOV

What the hell are they doing here? Why didn't Alice see them coming? I can see Demetri and Jane walking toward us, but why are the others staying back? I try to read their minds but I find nothing. All five of them have a completely silent mind. That's not possible.

I can still read the mind of all my family members perfectly, so why can't I read them. I look at Demetri and can't help but hate him. There's something about his attitude that I don't like, he thinks that he's so much better than me, just because he's a Volturi. Jane isn't much better, the smirk on her face when she tells us we were rendered unnecessary, angers me. How can Carlisle stay so polite and calm?

I look over to the three guards that stayed back and it strikes me as odd when I see that two of them are holding hands. Well, well, are the monsters capable of showing emotions? Who in his right mind, would get involved with one of them. I guess the two males are Felix and Alec, but the female is not someone we know. I stare at Demetri when he says:

"Aro demands your presence in Volterra. Every member of your coven is to report to him Volterra on February 21st. Do yourself a favor, don't run. I'll find you and you won't even see me coming."

Maybe I won't even have to ask for my demise. Being called to Volterra is seldom a good thing, I look around at my family and I can see the worry on everyone's face. It looks like the Volturi are leaving. Thank god for that. Wait, what did Jane say? A wedding? I can't keep myself from saying.

"Who would ever want to marry one of those monsters?"
