"RUBEUS HAGRID! Did I seriously just hear you saying that you are more upset about some fucking acromantulas then Mr Potter's life? He is telling the truth about Dumbledore unfortunately. I have no idea what possessed him to be so stupid but he was. I realise you asked Ivy to punish him but that will not suffice. He endangered your life and I am not sure if he was under the imperious curse or not when he did so. We will need to call in the DMLE or Departments of Magical Law Enforcement to deal with it!" she said as Harry shrugged while being examined by Madam Pomfrey who now gasped really loudly.
"Mr Potter it is quite clear that he attempted to imperious and obliviate you himself but he was not successful. The question I have is why?" she asked as Severus himself gasped at that.
"Yes do please tell us why he was unsuccessful" he asked kindly as they all bar Harry looked at weirdly for a moment for showing care at all but were happy about it none the less.
"Oh that's an easy one. Here I wear one of these I got from my families vault and I gave one to Dean too. He truly is my best friend in the whole world. I was told it was crafted by the goblins and would deflect most spells bar the unforgiveables but I think what the goblin may have meant to say is that it deflects everything but the killing curse. I could feel the imperious take over me but then as soon as it was there it was gone again" he said casually as they all gasped. In that moment Severus made a decision about his life later on which he would put into practice as soon as he had a free moment to get to the bank.
"What did he want you to do under the imperious?" he asked suddenly very nervous about the response.
"It was ridiculous he just wanted me to look into this really gaudy mirror he had. It was loud and garish as hell a bit like him. Initially I saw myself standing alongside Dean with huge families of our own and wonderful wives. I was head of the DMLE myself but it was unrealistic as that's not what I want to do when I grow up. I don't want to be the head of the DMLE and I certainly don't want six kids. After I told him this I could see just myself in the mirror. He seemed horrified by that information for some reason and then he stunned me and fed me a potion. Because I wear this I cannot forget anything!" he said as Snape snapped his wand into his hand and scanned him briefly while Poppy watched in awe as he was scanning Harry in such a complex way she'd never seen done before.
After a few moments a parchment piece appeared in the air before Severus who grabbed it and read it to himself growling. "The potion he used was a bodily numbing charm so essentially Harry here would have felt weak and felt nothing at all. That Cereberus could have bitten him and he would have still felt nothing. That fool!" he snapped in rage.
"Speaking of fools I found this at the end of the well whatever it was do you want it?" he said handing over the fake to Severus to who gasped his hands flying to his mouth in shock.
"Just what is he playing at huh? This is a fake totally. I mean it's a good fake but a fake none the less ah yes Amelia come in please!" he said gesturing to the fireplace where she stepped through looking highly concerned. She was a very stern looking witch with her hair in a chignon and horn rimmed glasses on her eyes which were cat eye in shape and looked fresh from the fifties.
"Amelia Albus here attacked Harry Potter and we have evidence of it here in this pensive!" he said showing said pensive to her. She emerged in a few minutes furious.
"It may surprise you to know that I heard from none other then Nicholas Flammel today who wished to inform me that he had asked Albus Dumbledore to keep his Philosophers Stone safe as he feared Voldemort might try and steal it from him. Is this it?" she said picking up the ruby coloured stone from the nightstand where Severus had put it down when she'd entered.
"Unfortunately not. We thought it was until I held it and this one is a fake. It's a very good and indeed convincing fake but I have no idea why he asked us to put challenges in front of fake. It doesn't make any sense!" he said sounding highly confused.
"Madam Bones I will take you Albus now. He needs to answer to his crimes!" said Professor McGonagall seriously.
"Wait! Hagrid also needs to answer to his crimes. He owned a colony of acromantulas which I then fed to the hell hound or Cereberus he used to own who changed his allegiances to me because I can talk with him. He needs to pay for owning such a dangerous creature as done whoever gave it to him!" he snapped as Hagrid lunged at him in fury forgetting himself for a moment as McGonagall looked at him shocked with tears in her eyes.
"Hagrid you're so gentle. You've never attacked a student in your life even a Slytherin what brought this on?" she asked as she shed some tears.
"Well I don't care he's in Slytherin but he killed Aragog me only friend and no one cares about it. Aragog wasn't harmful at all and did everything I ever told him to. I would never make him attack a student even a Slytherin one!" he said crying huge tears of regret into his hands.
"What about the many children or Aragog? Did they listen to you too?" Amelia asked seriously.
"Well no Aragog and Mosag were their parents so they only listened to them!" he said sounding defeated as she eyed him wearily. Hagrid had always been a good but unfortunate character however he wasn't the smartest tool in the shed. If someone had told him something he knew nothing about was perfectly safe and they seemed happy when they said it he'd believe them too.
"Hmm so they were essentially free to attack students. Be thankful they are gone. Do you own any other dangerous animals Hagrid? Now is the time to save yourself future problems!" she asked seriously.
"Well the other night down the pub I was playing cards, betting you know the like and I won a dragon egg. I've always and ever wanted me own dragon since I was little boy. It's me own dream coming true!" he said happily as she slapped her forehead in rage.
"Rubeus Hagrid why do you never ever use your brain at all? Did it not strike you as odd that a random stranger just happened to have an illegal dragon egg on them when you want one the most? Do you know that person probably knows you live in a wooden hut and was trying to kill you with the dragon flames? It's illegal and I will be taking that egg now. Thankfully for you Charles Weasley is here in the Ministry on a dragon conference so he can get the dragon to the dragon to the dragon reserve in Romania. Just be thankful I am saving your life you absolute fool. Next time someone gives you something I want you to bring it straight to Professor McGonagall. Do not bring it to Professor Dumbledore if he's still here because he will just tell you anything he wants to. He is not right. Auror Johnson, Shacklebolt and Green you are with me now. Wands at the ready and don't all come into his office with me. He may try to harm me on his escape!" she said shocked as Harry once more called out wait and focused his magic on his hands as thirty or so rings appeared there.
"Please give these to the staff of the school and wear these yourselves. I don't want him to be able to hurt you. Don't give one to Hagrid or Professor Quirrel because there is something off with him!" he said as Snape smirked.
"Ten points to Slytherin Mr Potter. How did you figure out there was something off with him?" he asked as Minerva looked at him in interest.
"Well he keeps talking to himself and when he does that he doesn't stutter at all however when he talks to everyone else he stutters like mad. Also he's very afraid of Professor Snape and I don't understand why as it doesn't look like he's ever done anything to him. Also his classes make me feel sick. I am sorry but I have a mild intolerance to garlic and he has loads of it in his room. I think he is hiding a bad smell but I'm not sure!" he sad as Amelia groaned.
"Ok well then I am taking Albus in for questioning and while he is there I want this school scoured for dark artefacts of all kinds. We will speak to all ghosts too and see if they remember anything dark happening. Hagrid you are hereby placed under house arrest. Surrender your dragon egg and return to your hut where you should remain until further notice. GET GOING!" she snapped as he jumped and did so producing said egg from his pocket where he'd been keeping it warm. It was an extremely interesting day for her so far. They would find any and all bad artefacts in the school until they could be sure everything was normal. Susie was here and she wouldn't rest until such time as it was done.
"Also Mr Potter yourself and Mr Thomas need to visit Professor McGonagall's office this evening for an inheritance test. I have a feeling about it ok. Word travels fast and I have heard of Mr Thomas' wandless magic skills. It would see Professor Flitwick is most impressed with him and thought to let me know about it the last time I bumped into him in Diagon Alley where I asked him about Susie. It would be best. I will see you all later. You get rest now Mr Potter and we'll see you later on!" she said leaving with her three aurors in tow. It would be an interesting day for sure.
