Chapter 18

Luna's Heart

General P.O.V.

Luna sighed as she looked out at the ocean from the cliff on Sharpedo Bluff. Lia and Jolt were asleep downstairs, resting for what awaited them. Luna knew that she should sleep too, but she was restless. There was too much on her mind.

'This battle will reveal many things to both Jolt and Grovyle. The fact I never forgot anything that happened, and who I really am. Both my heritage and my true identity' Luna thought.

Luna sighed, watching the moon as it reflected off the surface of the water.

'There's also the fact that it's time for me to make my final choice. The choice that Arceus gave me' Luna thought.

Luna looked out at the ocean as she remembered what Arceus told her.

Flashback

Luna was relaxing on the beach, thinking about her conversation she had with Giratina at World Abyss. She knew that she was playing a dangerous game with Jolt's life at stake, but it was a risk she had to take. To save her father and to put an end to Darkrai's scheme.

We all have to take risks to protect those we cherish.

Luna's eyes widened, recognizing the voice.

Arceus, it has been a while since the last time we talked. Am I talking to the current one or the one in the future?

It would be the one in this timeline.

Luna nodded.

What do you wish to speak to me about?

I wish to give you the answer that you've been wondering about for some time. I've already given this information to your current self, but I believe that you deserve to know the truth as well.

Luna laid down on the sand and closed her eyes.

What is it?

It involves the secret to your human form. That form is not something that you were born with. It was something that I had given you as a means to fulfill the prophecy that Tora told you the day he was taken.

Luna nodded, already suspected as much.

The one where I bring Darkrai back to the light.

You would be correct. Bringing a Pokemon back from darkness that has corrupted them requires a great amount of power. A normal Pokemon wouldn't be able to withstand the amount of power you would unleash. It would destroy your body, but if you had another form, then you could use your other form as a cost, enabling you to survive.

Luna opened her eyes.

Meaning that I have to choose whether to save him or to let him stay the way he is, but in saving him I have to sacrifice a part of myself that I have gotten used to.

Yes, it does. Either way, you must make a decision. Just follow your heart and it will tell you what to do.

Flashback End

Luna sighed, looking out at the ocean.

'I know what I have to do. In order to bring peace to this world, I know what must be done' Luna thought.

Unknown to Luna, Jolt and Lia were watching her from the entrance to their home. Luna closed her eyes, thinking about everything that got her to this point and all the struggles she faced.

"Light up the dawn

Setting the sky ablaze before my eyes"

Lia smiled when she heard her sing. It was just as beautiful as she always remembered.

"Let's write another story

I'll tear the doubt out of my mind

Cause with the strength inside me

I'll leave the girl I was behind

Throw away the days of wishing I could believe

Now it's the start

Breaking through to the sky, with the strength to survive

Feel the dawn break through to your heart"

Jolt closed his eyes, remembering when Glacia would sing whenever she came to visit him, Sora and Electra.

"Chasing the skies, I'll find a brighter day

Shatter the lies, I'm who I wanna be

The fire inside will burn for all to see

You won't take my courage away

"Flowers'll bloom and burst into my view

Even the passion here won't disappear

For all of the days , you'd thought I'd hesitate

I'll erase it all and I'll finally change my fate"

Luna smiled and looked out at the ocean before deciding to go back to sleep. Jolt and Lia went down and went to sleep just as Luna came back then and fell asleep. The next morning, Lia met Jolt and Luna at the cliff at Sharpedo Bluff.

"Are you ready to go?" Lia asked.

Luna and Jolt nodded.

"We're ready!" Jolt said.

Lia nodded.

"Then got on and I'll guide you to the Dark Crater," Lia said.

Luna and Jolt got on, and Lia flew off, heading towards Dark Crater.

In the Future World

Grovyle sighed as he waited by the cliff for Seren, Alexa and Autumn to get here. The dimensional hole was already there, waiting for them to jump in. They just had to wait for Seren to get the signal from Dialga that it was time for them to go.

"I'm not surprised that you're already here, Grovyle" Alexa's voice drifted into the area.

Grovyle looked up to see Autumn and Alexa walking towards him.

"The sooner everyone is here, the sooner we can all leave," Grovyle said. "Where's Seren?"

Autumn and Alexa shrugged.

"I'm not sure" Autumn answered. "She mentioned grabbing something that Glacia left in her care, but she didn't elaborate."

Grovyle nodded.

"It looks like I'm the last one!" Seren said, appearing next to Alexa.

They all looked at what Seren was holding and their eyes widened in shock.

"That's Glacia's Treasure Bag!" Grovyle said. "Why do you have it?!"

Seren sighed.

"Glacia entrusted it to me after she activated the seal" Seren answered.

Grovyle's eyes widened.

"She never leaves without it. Why would she leave it now?" Grovyle asked.

Seren sighed.

"She couldn't be seen with it or it would draw attention to herself" Seren answered. "She left something in here that she trusted me to give back to her when the time came. That time is now."

Grovyle's eyes widened.

"You mean she's in the past?!" Grovyle said, in realization.

Seren nodded.

"She is now, but she's always been close to you," Seren said. "You just didn't know it. Did you really think that she would leave you behind without doing something to help?"

Grovyle raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"So why was I told she was missing?" Grovyle asked.

Seren sighed.

"She wanted it that way, for her own reasons" Seren answers. "Reasons you will understand when we arrive to help Luna. Things are about to be revealed to you that have been kept secret for far too long. It's time that both of you knew the truth."

Seren looked up in the direction of Temporal Tower and nodded before she looked at Autumn, Alexa and Grovyle.

"It's time!" Seren said.

Everyone nodded and jumped into the dimensional hole that closed behind them.
