Chapter 21
The time had finally come for the ceremony. Sam was standing at the alter with Jerry at his side. He as very anxious and ready for the ceremony to be over. The music started, and Sam saw Tracie come around the corner. Tracie came up and stood across from Jerry. The music switched, and everybody stood up and looked to the end of the aisle. Sam was anxiously awaiting seeing Andy.
Andy was waiting for the bridal march to start. When it did she started her walk to Sam. Her father was there escorting her down the aisle. She turned the corner and saw Sam. Her dad had to help support her because she lost her balance. She saw that Sam had teared up and she was doing everything she could to not tear up.
They stood together facing each other at the altar. It was time for their vows and they had decided to say their own.
"Samuel Jay Swarek, I am so happy to be standing with you hear today in front of our family and friends. You have been my rock through the hard times and stuck by me through my terrible decisions. You brought me back when I was trying to push everybody away. When you hold me you all my troubles melt away. I can't imagine being with anybody else. I can't wait to start our family. I vow to be there for you through sickness and in health, for richer or poorer. I love you Swarek, now and forever" Andy said as she put the ring on his finger.
"Andrea Grace McNally. I knew when you chased me down that alleyway and tackled me that you were something special, it just took me a while to figure it out. McNally, you are my home. It took me a long time to figure that out, but you refused to give up and you broke down the walls I had put up. I will always be there for you through thick and thin. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you and our family. I love you McNally." Sam put the ring on Andy's finger.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife" The officiant said, "You may kiss the bride".
Sam kissed Andy with lots of passion and listened as all their friends and family cheered them on.
They moved into the reception hall that Tracy had done an amazing job decorating. There were no overhead lights everything was lit up with twinkly lights on the table and the ceiling over the dance floor.
"Now announcing Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Swarek" the DJ announced as they walked into the reception hall. All their friends were clapping and whistling.
Sam and Andy went to the dance floor and did their first dance. Everybody was having a great time. Sam and Andy sat down finally and were eating some food. Tracie stood up and got everybody's attention
"As we all know Sam and Andy didn't have the best meet. Sam's cover was blown on Andy's first day on the job. They were both embarrassed about the situation. It took them both a long time to discover their love for each other and act on it but here we are. I have prepared a slide show for the happy couple". Tracie replied and lowered a projector screen.
Andy knew that this is what Tracie had been planning to reveal her pregnancy to all their friends and family. The slideshow went through pictures from being at work, hanging out at the Penny, their engagement and other pictures of them together. The music on the slideshow stopped and the screen was black.
"And for the final picture of the evening" Tracie said as she hit the button on the remote.
"Introducing our newest rookies to 15 Division" Andy stood up and said as the ultrasound picture popped up.
It was silent for a moment and then everybody started clapping and whistling. It was the best news they had heard. People came and shook Sam's hand and hugged Andy congratulating them. Andy announced that her due date was July 30th, but it would likely be before then.
Andy and Sam cut the cake. Andy threw the bouquet which Tracie caught. Andy gave Jerry the look.
"Jerry seems like your hand may be forced now". Sam whispered in Jerry's ear.
"Buddy, I have already got it planned out." Jerry replied.
It was the best ending for the day that had started out horribly wrong. Andy and Sam left the reception and headed to Niagara Falls for a few days.
