Chapter Eighteen
"Aura is a energy dwelling within all humans, which can make it very effective against other hummans. For better of for worse. If you attack a helpless person with malice, you can kill using aura alone. Only one thing can protect you from a user of Nen. You must learn to use it yourself and use Ten for defense." Wing explained, moving to stand before a wall. "Block the other person's aura with your own. Otherwise…" Wing placed a hand on the wall and pushed his aura forward aggressively, creating a large crater in the wall, more than twice his size. The kids gaped at him. "Your body will be shattered beyond recognition." Wing finished solemnly.
Nen is a power that dwells within every person, but at this time only a few are capable of harnessing that power. Because of their ability, they are treated as geniuses, leaders, psychics, sages, and even super humans."
"Power that dwells in all humans?" Gon asked.
"Yes. and there are means by which to unlock that power but only two. Either slowly and carefully or by force. Zushi opted for the slow and careful path. Not only was he a quick learner, but he was tireless in his training, so he was able to master Ten in a very short time." Wing placed his hand on Zushis shoulder proudly. "About six months."
"That's way too long!" Killua yelled.
"We don't have six months." Ayami snapped.
"We need to get past Hisoka before Midnight tonight." Gon agreed.
"Then it seems force our only chance." Wing sighed.
"Is that gonna be fast enough?" Killua asked.
"Exactly how long it takes is up to you and how well you learn to contain your aura in that short time. So, let's get right to it, shall we?" Wing raised a hand. "I will begin your training by transmitting my aura in your direction. This is Hatsu, which you saw earlier. Of course, since I wish you no harm, I'll go easy on you. But this method is still a drastic one. In other words, I will attempt to shock you into awakening. Your aura nodes are currently closed, preventing the free flow of aura. So, by sending my aura through your body, I will jolt those nodes into an open position. If not done right, this is incredibly dangerous."
Wing explained the natural process and Ayami phased out. She couldn't help but think that this all sounded familiar. She phased back in when Wing clapped his hands. "Let's get started. Ayami, you first". Ayami nodded and stood in front of Wing, he placed his hand on her back and paused. "Huh." He said.
"What is it?" Ayami asked.
"Before I start, I want to try something. I will send a very small amount of my aura through you, basically a lles invasive version of what I'm about to do. I just need to check something." Ayami nodded unsurly. Wing pushed some of his aura into her and furrowed his eyebrows. "Ayami, your aura nodes are already open, they have been for a long time. I thought you didn't know Nen."
"I don't." Ayami protested. Killua snapped his fingers in realisation.
"You probably learned before the accident." He said.
"Accident?" Wing asked.
"I woke up about six years ago with amnesia, I don't know anything about Nen."
"In that case, you just need to relearn how to access it. We'll try sending my Nen into you, but I'll make it slightly more aggressive. Hopefully your body will remember what it needs to do on ins own." Ayami nodded and Wing forced his Nen into the girl, feeling her own surge to the surface, forcing him out. As visible aura surrounded her body, Ayami gasped in pain, images flooding through her head that she couldn't understand and familiar voices screaming in her ears.
"Ayami!" Her boys called, worriedly, as Ayami stumbled to her bag, grabbing her notebook and collapsing onto the couch.
"I'm fine, just a headache. Keep going." Ayami ordered, drawing quickly, trying to form her broken memories on the page. Wing hesitated but obeyed, opening both boys aura nodes without incident. Wing clapped his hands, regaining Ayamis attention. She glanced at her drawing once more before putting it away and standing next to Killua.
"Mr. Wing? Why does Ayami have so much?" Gon asked. Ayami had at least double the white aura flowing around her body than Gon and Killua had.
"She was well trained, likely from a young age. Nen increases with time and practice, but Ayamis was dormant, so it couldn't have grown much by itself. You must have had significant power when you were a child.. Now, we have to focus if we wish to meet our deadline. You must keep your focus on containing your aura within your body. Now, close your eyes." Wing commanded. The three children obeyed.
"Use any stance you prefer, whatever helps you focus. Visualize your aura flowing through you as if it were the blood flowing through your body. From the top of your head to your right shoulder, to your hand, through your legs and up your left side." Wing watched proudly and his new students aura slowly withdrew into their bodies. They were fast learners. "Now visualize that flow as little by little it begins to gradually flow down and swirl around your body." All that was left was a thin sheen clinging to their silhouette. These kids are incredible. They didn't even need me to tell them that a natural stance would be the most effective. They've mastered the technique after only a few basic instructions. It's magnificent… and terrifying. "Now slowly open your eyes. Tell me how you feel."
"I feel like.. I'm surrounded by some viscous liquid." Gon stated.
"It feels like wearing weightless clothes." Killua said.
"Kinda slimy." Ayami shrugged with a smirk. Wing gave her a stern look and she sighed. "Like a second skin. Like i didn't realize it was missing but it was meant to be there." Wing nodded approvingly.
"I want you all to keep holding onto those images. Once you assimilate them, you'll be able to do this in your sleep." Wings aura flared, suddenly dangerous. "Now, I will emit malicious Nen against you!" He did as he said, and all four kids held their auras close to their body. "Before your nodes were opened, standing in this would have caused yo excruciating pain."
"Yeah, I get it now. Your blizzard analogy. It makes sense." Killua said.
"If you can fend off my Nen, you will be able to break through his barrier as well!" Wing declared. "Prepare yourselves!"
Ayami, Killua and Gon tensed as Wings aura rushed towards them.
