Day 29 (August 4th). You Can See Them Too?: The world of the Duel Monsters is filled to the brim with spirits. Today's prompt is all about the spirit world, and the monsters within it. You can choose one or the other, or both to include.

It was a peaceful day in the Spirit World. Ever since the Dark Signers have been defeated and the Signers saved Ancient Fairy Dragon the Spirit World was a nice place again, with happy laughters filling the wide fields. A bit far off, there was a castle, where the plant princesses lived. One of them however, didn't seem to be all that happy, despite every other spirit being cheerful.

Talaya sighed, as she stared out of one of the big windows of the castle, observing the spirits in the garden. Their kingdom mainly consisted of plant monsters, with a few exceptions here and there. For example, Black Rose Dragon was one of the guardians that should keep the castle safe, if any dangerous things would happen again. There were also some warrior monsters, as of course there couldn't be a castle without loyal guardians. Some of them even had to follow the princesses around, which the other princesses always complained about, especially the younger ones.

She herself didn't really mind, her companion was pretty nice after all. She sighed again. She wasn't just nice, she actually really liked spending time with her guardian and she knew exactly that what she was feeling wouldn't fit into this old-fashioned kingdom, where everything has to be like some in kind of medieval story. It was the spirit world after all, why does it have to follow stupid man-made rules? She heard a knock on her door, that made her fall out of her thoughts.

"You may come in," she said, also following these old-fashioned rules of speaking. Her companion stepped inside, bowing lightly before looking at her. Of course, being a guardian, she had to wear an armour and since that armour included a helmet, Talaya actually couldn't see the face of her companion. Still, something made her believe that her companion looked concerned at her. "Is everything all right, my princess?", her guardian said softly, making Talaya feel weird in her stomach. Every time her companion says "my princess", she wished that it was said with another connotation than the old-fashioned one, where you have to say all titles of a person all the time.

"Yes, I'm fine," she whispered, hoping that her companion wouldn't ask too many questions. But knowing her, of course she would not be quiet until she told her what was bothering her. "It doesn't seem like it, my princess," her companion said. "You haven't left your chamber yet, your father seems to be thinking that you're not feeling well," she added, sounding really concerned. She was half right, she wasn't feeling well. "It's nothing to worry about, Fleur," she said, rising from her seat. It was still weird to her to call her companion Fleur or Chevalier. She'd prefer it if she had a name like she did too. It would make it much easier to have a conversation, especially when they went to the "doctor", Sorcière de Fleur. And literally every guardian in the castle was technically a Chevalier, so calling her that seems weird too – also, Fleur was clearly a woman, why isn't she called Chevalière? She decided to not think about this name thing any longer and walked a bit closer to the entrance to her chamber, where Chevalier de Fleur was standing.

"Would you accompany me for a walk, Fleur?", she asked her companion, who nodded slightly at the suggestion before stepping aside a bit so that she could walk out of the room, followed by her companion that closed the door. They stepped outside of the castle, walking slowly around the fields. A lot of trees where near the pathways, so there was enough shadow for the both of them. They soon arrived at a small river with a bench next to it. Talaya sat down on it and Chevalier de Fleur was standing next to it, scanning the area for unwanted guests.

"I'd like to talk to you," Talaya confessed, as she looked up to Chevalier who stopped observing their surroundings at her sentence. She turned her head to look at Talaya. "What exactly do you want to talk about, my princess?", she asked. Talaya patted the place next to her to signalise Chevalier de Fleur to sit down next to her, which she did. "I don't think you can be my companion any longer," she said in a sad tone. Chevalier waited a minute to see if Talaya would add anything, which she didn't, before she spoke up. "Was my way of working not to your liking, my princess?", she asked, clearly hurt by the statement of Talaya. Talaya shook her head. "No, it's not like that. It's just," she needed a few moments to collect her thoughts, before she added, "you know, everything here is so old-fashioned. You have the king and the queen and princesses and then you have the guardians who should stay by the princesses all the times, but if the relationship between the guardian and the princess is too close, then everyone will hate the guardian. I just… I don't want that." Meanwhile tears were on the princess' cheeks, showing all of her emotions of distress. Chevalier was quiet for a few moments, placing a hand on Talayas shoulder. "Does that mean that you seek a more intimate relationship with me, my princess?", she questioned, still not dropping the old-fashioned way of speaking, even though Talaya clearly isn't fond of anything old-fashioned.

A hint of red was now on Talayas cheeks. "Well, in a different, more open place we could at least try it, right?", she said, still with a hint of sadness. "You don't even know what I look like," Chevalier then said, laughing a bit. "You could show me," Talaya said, "not that it even matters," she added in a low tone. "It is actually forbidden for me to show my face to you, but since I'm not your guardian any more, I guess it should be fine," Chevalier said, before taking the helmet of her armour with both of her hands to pull it off. Short curly honey-blonde hair was dancing in the air as she looked at Talaya with her dark green eyes. "You look exactly like your master, Fleur," Talaya said enjoying the view in front of her. "Actually, I should look more like the mother of my master," Chevalier said smiling slightly, "after all, I should watch over her, just like a mother." There was a small pause before Chevalier continued, "anyway, let's talk to Ancient Fairy Dragon, she might help us with our relationship." She arose from the bench before turning to Talaya to help her up from her seat as well. "It might take a while until we reach Ancient Fairy Dragons place though, so we need to bring some food," Chevalier said before she put on her helmet again. Talaya smiled widely at her, linking her arm with Chevaliers to walk back to the castle happy about the outcome of their conversation.

A/N: The crackiest of crack shippings: Chevalier de Fleur x Talaya, Princess of Cherry Blossoms!

Also, I have the headcanon that Sherrys father created the card Chevalier de Fleur and thus Chevalier de Fleur looks like Sherrys mother. That's also the reason Chevalier de Fleur has curly blonde hair.
