FRIENDS FOREVER

Legoshi sighed deeply to himself as the grey wolf looked down at his large canine paws in anger and sadness as his mind couldn't help but remember what they had done to Thorn's eye as well as that white dwarf rabbit back at the fountain.

"Why...why did I have to be born a wolf..." Legoshi said to himself with a soft growl as his mind soon wandered to what Thorn had said to both him and Jack which caused the canines heart to tighten in pain as the sentence floated around his mind.

"I don't need a mate and I don't need friends like you two," Legoshi said to himself repeating Thorn's words causing the grey wolf's ears to splay back as he slowly shook his head trying his best to rid the words from his mind.

'He didn't mean it...he just felt trapped and pressured...that's all.' Legoshi thought to himself in an effort to help ease his mind from the prospect of Thorn's words having true meaning behind them which only seemed to cause Legoshi to feel worse as his tail tucked itself between his legs.

'How can I blame him for saying that...what I did to him was wrong...I...I just thought that...that he'd want the same as me.' Legoshi thought to himself only to shake his head with a low growl.

"How can I think that? Why am I thinking that? If it wasn't for me trying to mark him then none of this would have happened...and...what...what if Thorn doesn't want to see me anymore?" Legoshi said to himself with a sad sigh as the wolf's demeanor seemed to worsen the more he thought about what would now happen between himself and Thorn.

"I...I don't want to lose him again...not because of this...not because of me." The grey and cream furred wolf said to himself sadly as his mind began to recall how Jack had also marked Thorn which only seemed to cause Legoshis paws to tighten in anger.

"How could he do that? How could Jark mark Thorn...how could I let him mark Thorn." Legoshi growled to himself in growing anger only to snap out of his angered state as his claws had dug into his paws causing a small amount of blood to stain both the floor and said paws.

"What's wrong with me?... Why do I feel like Jacks trying to take Thorn away from me? Why do I feel so angry and betrayed when I think of them together...there both friends so why...why do I feel like this?" Legoshi sighed to himself as the grey wolf's body slumped in a defeated and sad manner only for a familiar and dark presence to make itself known in the canine's mind.

'We shouldn't be worrying about that Legoshi. You should be out there trying to find him. He's yours. You marked him first. Jack can't take him away from you if you solidify your position as alpha.' Legoshi's soft brown eyes opened wide in fear as he quickly turned his head behind himself expecting to see the dark black figure that was always present when he lost control.

'Why do you look for me? Have you still not fully realized that I'm not real. I'm a part of you Legoshi and I always will be.' The voice once again spoke out into Legoshis mind prompting the grey wolf to clutch his head in his paws with a distraught and panicked whine.

"L..Leave me alone...go away...all you do is get me into trouble," Legoshi said out loud in desperation as the voice once again chuckled sinisterly in his mind prompting Legoshi to slowly curl in on himself in a defensive manner whilst the voice laughed.

'Leave you alone? Now how could I do that? I am you Legoshi and like it or not I know you felt your claim was the right thing to do. I know how you truly feel about Thorn no matter what you tell yourself.' The voice chuckled darkly only for it to cease almost instantaneously as the sound of doors opening snapped the grey wolf out of his thoughts as he slowly and carefully began to uncurl himself.

"Alright, everyone lets get things rolling. I want this rehearsal to be the best one so far." Legoshi's ears sprung forward at the voice of Louis to which the grey wolf quickly stood up and onto his feet just as the red deer made his way into the room along with Bill who gave Legoshi a curious yet slightly angry look.

"What a surprise seeing you here so early Legoshi. Normally I don't see you around here unless you're working on the stage lighting." Bill said to Legoshi whilst crossing his arms at the grey wolf who looked away from the large feline.

"Instead of asking Legoshi pointless questions Bill you should get dressed for the rehearsal." Louis sighed as he walked over to the dressing room before turning and glaring at Bill prompting the Bengal tiger to curse silently to himself before nodding his head at the red deer.

"Sory Louis Ill head right over," Bill said to Louis prompting the deer to continue on toward the dressing room whilst Bill gave Legoshi a small glare before he too made his way toward and into the dressing room.

'What's wrong with Bill? I've never seen him like that before...not until recently that is.' Legoshi thought to himself in confusion before the grey wolf shook his head with a tired sigh as he began to make his way toward the rooms lighting area as other members of the drama club began to make there way into the room.

"Whatever's up with him it's none of my business. I don't want anything else going wrong today let alone with a guy like Bill." Legoshi mumbled sadly to himself as the grey wolf began to make his way up the steps to the drama clubs lighting fixtures before getting to work on his tasks in his usual silent and downtrodden manner.

"I'm never going to find him." The blonde furred and light brown-eyed labrador retriever that was Jack sighed sadly to himself as he sat on a bench with his ears low and drooped.

Jack looked around at the nearly empty school grounds that surrounded him as the blonde furred dog couldn't help but let out a small relieved sigh at the privacy he now had access to.

Although he wouldn't admit it Jack always put on a brave face around all of his friends and classmates though in truth he often felt like he needed to prove his worth more than anyone else or he would be left behind and forgotten.

Though Jack didn't often feel like this when he did it was usually hard to find a moment of privacy to let out his emotions causing the labrador retriever to bottle up his feelings until he could finally find some time to unwind and let go.

But with everything that had gone on with both himself, Thorn and Legoshi the canine's emotions and feelings were at breaking point as he dragged a paw over his muzzle with a tired sigh.

"Why...why can't I do anything right?..." Jack muttered to himself in a defeated and low tone of voice as his tail hung limply behind him whilst his mind began to slowly wander.

"Thorn and Legoshi...I always relied on both of them...I...I never did anything to help out...I was always the one who needed protecting." Jack's voice hitched in sadness as he closed his eyes feeling an overwhelming sense of uselessness as the canine clutched his paws together tightly with a low growl.

"Maybe if it wasn't for me...then Thorn wouldn't have disappeared...if only I knew how bad it was for him.." Jack said to himself with a small whimper as the dog's mind couldn't help but think back to one of many times Thorn had avoided the question about his family and how when asked the wolf's face fell into a look of sadness and hurt.

"How could I not realize what he was avoiding...what sort of friend could miss a thing like that." Jack shook his head in defeat as the labrador retriever slowly picked himself up off of the bench with a sigh as his ears remained firmly drooped down.

'Jack...you gave me the chance to feel like I was part of a family. A proper family...something that I never had.' As Jack began to slowly walk away from the bench he couldn't help but remember what Thorn had said to him back in the medical wing causing the blonde furred dog to shake his head.

"That wasn't me Thorn...I...I just invited you around that's all. I didn't even do it to help you...I didn't know how bad your situation was." Jack's demeanor fell more and more as the canine let his mind sink into a sad and self-destructive state only for a paw to grasp softly on his right shoulder prompting the dog to turn around.

"Hey, Jack are you okay?" Miguno asked Jack in a concerned and worried tone of voice as the dog looked at his friend with a small sigh only to shake his head slowly in response to the hyena's question.

"I...I could be doing better...I still haven't managed to find Thorn or Legoshi." Jack sighed to Miguno to which the hyena smiled back at the dog in response causing Jack to look at his friend in confusion.

"Miguno?! Where did you go?!" Jack's ears twitched at the loud yet familiar voice that called out as the blonde and white-furred red wolf that was Thorn stumbled around from the corner of the nearby building only for his deep yellow eyes to settle upon Jack.

"T...Thorn?" Jack whimpered out sadly as he looked at the surprised yet relived looking face of Thorn only for the red wolf to slowly embrace the now surprised looking Jack in a tight and caring hug as Miguno looked on with a wide smile.

'What's...what's happening?...why...why is he hugging me?' Jack thought to himself in deep confusion and sadness as Thorn continued to hug the labrador retriever whilst muttering "Sorry" over and over again to Jack prompting the canine's body to start shaking with silent sobs.

'This isn't how It should work...I..I'm the one who was In the wrong..I'm the one who should be apologizing.' Jack's body continued to shake with silent sobs as the smaller canine tried to shake his head at the red wolf only to press his muzzle up against Thorn's chest with a low whine.

"I'm sorry Jack. I'm so sorry for what I said. I didn't mean it...I...I was just overwhelmed and I snapped." Thorn pulled back slightly from the hug before looking at the sad and confused face of Jack with a saddened look of his own as the red wolf's paws held onto Jack tightly.

"It's... it's not your fault... it's my fault Thorn...all I am is a burden to you...I always have been..." Jack said to Thorn in a defeated and depressed manner as the dog's body continued to shake with silent sobs to which Thorn grabbed onto Jack's muzzle with both of his paws causing the smaller canine to yelp slightly.

"Take that back." Thorn glared at Jack with deep and hidden anger as his primal yellow eyes bore deep into Jack's light brown eyes to which the blonde furred dog tried to look away from Thorn.

"But it's true...ever since we met all I've been is a problem for you...I'm a useless friend," Jack muttered to Thorn in a sad and tired tone of voice only for the red wolf to growl deeply at Jack as the larger canine grasped onto both of his friend's shoulders tightly.

"How can you believe that Jack? After all, you've done for me in the past...your like a brother to me Jack...and when you say things like that...I can't help but feel like I'm the one who caused all this." Thorn said to Jack in an angry yet pained tone of voice as the wolf's grip on Jack's shoulder weakened whilst Miguno watched on in slight worry as Thorn looked down at the floor.

Jack looked at Thorn in disbelief and shock as the labrador retriever shook his head from side to side at the wolf in denial only for Thorn to chuckle sadly at his friend before slowly bringing his gaze up to meet Jacks once again.

"You're not the one who ran away from the two closet animals in your life without even saying a proper goodbye. I'm the one who messed everything up between us Jack. Not you." Thorn said to Jack in a sad yet honest tone which matched the sad and forlorn look that the red wolf had on his face to which Jack couldn't help but look away from Thorn with a sigh as the smaller canines body slowly began to stop shaking.

"There's a lot of things I need to talk to you about Jack. And in all honesty, I want some answers from both you and Legoshi about what happened today..I...look...I'm done hiding my past from you both...later today...I'll tell you everything," Thorn said to Jack in a sad yet honest tone of voice as the red wolf's deep yellow eyes carried a long and deep pain within them as Jack turned slightly to glance at Thorn.

"I want us to be like we were back then. Back when we were younger. I want to be a better friend to you, Jack. To both you and Legoshi. Will you let me do that?" Thorn asked Jack in a hopeful and genuine manner prompting Jack to turn his head fully toward Thorn with a small smile on his blonde furred face to which the red wolf smiled back.

"I hope that's a yes," Thorn said to Jack in a happy and hopeful manner as Miguno chuckled from the side prompting both Thorn and Jack to look at the chuckling hyena with curious expressions on their faces.

"What's so funny?" Thorn asked Miguno in confusion whilst Jack turned to Thorn with a small joking smile on his blonde furred face as Miguno's chuckling began to slowly stop.

"He's a hyena what do you expect." Jack joked to Thorn to which the red wolf rolled his eyes at the labrador retriever whilst Miguno smiled looking at the two canines with his arms crossed.

"I heard that Jack." The hyena said to Jack with a shake of his head causing the dog to raise his paws up apologetically with a chuckle whilst Thorn smirked.

"So how long have you two known each other? I'm starting to think that little old Jack has made quite a few friends at this school." Thorn asked Miguno with a smile and a chuckle as the red wolf playfully punched Jack's arm causing the dog to let out a chuckle of his own.

"Well, to be honest, I've known Jack since starting here at Cherryton academy. We both live in dorm 701 along with some other guys," Miguno smiled at Thorn whilst Jack rubbed his arm before nodding his head at Miguno in agreement.

"Well thank you for looking after Jack for me Miguno. I mean it. It's good to know he's made some good friends whilst being here." Thorn said to the now slightly blushing black-spotted hyena who rubbed the back of his neck with his right paw as Jack did the same in embarrassment prompting Thorn to chuckle at the two animals.

"I'm not a pup you know Thorn. Of course, I made friends." Jack grumbled slightly at the now wide smiling red wolf who quickly patted the labrador retrievers back before looking back over to Miguno as the hyena had stopped blushing and was instead now smiling at both Jack and Thorn with his arms crossed.

"What's with the look?" Thorn asked Miguno with a curious smile and tone to which the hyena just shrugged his shoulders at the red wolf with a small sigh before speaking in an apologetic and slightly guilty manner.

"I just can't help but think how close-minded I was when I first met you...and I gotta say I feel like a real ass," Miguno looked down at the ground as the hyena's ears lowered whilst his tail was almost non-existent in its movement.

"Well, first of all, you're a hyena, not an ass. And secondly its water under the bridge Miguno. I won't hold anything against you well... as long as I can listen to your band perform at least once for me" Thorn smirked and chuckled at the now surprised face of Miguno as the hyena slowly nodded his brown-furred head in response as Jack smiled at the two larger carnivores as they began to joke and chat with each other.

Jack sighed happily to himself as the labrador retrievers tail began to slowly wag behind him as he watched Thorn and Miguno both try there best guitar solo impression with the hyena easily coming out on top.

'Things might not be back to where they used to be but its a start.' Jack thought to himself as the dog's mind began to slowly wander to Legoshi as well as what Thorn had said about revealing his past to both him and the grey wolf.

"That and he wants to know why I acted the way I did toward him today...and I want to know why you did the same," Jack said to himself quietly as the blonde furred canine looked up into the sky with a sigh before shaking his head.

'Those things can wait until we're all together. Just the three of us. Then we can all finally settle things once and for all and move on as best friends once again.'

(I hope your all still enjoying the story so far. In the next chapter, we may just find out a bit about how bad Thorn's past was and if Bill has certain feelings for the dumb wolf)
