The next day, Catherine was lazy in bed while Steve had already got up and ordered breakfast.
"Time to get up from this bed, my lazy girl," he said as he kissed her neck.
"What are we doing today?" she asked. She hugged him tightly and pulled him to her, forcing him to lie on the bed next to her.
"Are we going to the beach?" He answered her question with another question.
"I don't know if I want to go to the beach," she answered. She thought for a minute and smiled. "But I know I want to have a good and delicious peanut ice cream."
"Peanut ice cream? Why something so specific? Are you pregnant yet?"
"No, it's just a wish of mine. That's all," she answered.
"Okay. If you want peanut ice cream, you'll have peanut ice cream," Steve told her. He smiled and looked pretty relaxed to her.
"Are you happy?" She asked.
"Yes, I'm happy," while on the plane he stopped to think for a few seconds before answering that he was ready, this time he answered without thinking because he was completely sure of it. "You brought light into my life again. I mean, your light has always been there since we met, I'm the one who didn't appreciate it and I always put other things before our relationship..."
"Shhh!" Catherine put her index finger on his lips. "Let's not talk about the past again."
"Okay. You're right."
"We can rent a motorcycle again and get to know the island for ourselves, no guide this time. I've done some research and there are some places I want to meet," Catherine told him.
"We can do that. But put a bikini underneath because we're going to the beach even if it's fast. I'm missing a swim."
"I'll do that. The photographer sent me a message, he'll send us the digital photos later today. The printed photos he'll give us in three days. Then we can't leave until next week," Catherine told him while he was getting dressed.
"All right. In the meantime, we'll enjoy our honeymoon."
"Well, I'm already thinking about our next destination. I've always wanted to see a Tango performance in Argentina. And I want to learn to dance too. What do you think?" Catherine asked him.
"I wonder if I can dance tango. Well, I'll have to learn. I'd hate to see you dance a rhythm that involves so much sensuality with another man."
"I'm so excited!"
"Well, but that's only next week, today we'll concentrate on having fun. Tomorrow we have Harry's autograph afternoon."
Catherine thought about saying something and hesitated. Steve realized and asked her what it was.
"My period is late..."
He celebrated before she finished talking. "That's great, Cath!"
"But it's only one day and most likely just a normal delay since I stopped taking the pill."
"But it may not be a normal delay. Shall we buy a test?"
"No, I'd rather wait a few more days. I think it's too early for that."
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Okay. Then get ready, we're wasting time here while the island waits for us."
Catherine stood up and he picked her up when she passed him. "What's that?" She asked and smiled.
Steve kissed her lightly. "I just wanted to give you a little kiss," he said and put her down again.
"Don't let me forget to send the wedding photos to the team," Steve told her as she dressed.
"As soon as the photographer sends me the photos, I'll tell you," Catherine answered. She finished getting dressed and told him she was ready.
"Isn't this shorts too short?" He asked and pointed at her shorts.
"No, I've always worn it that way. Come on," she pulled him out of the bedroom.
"Well, I still think it's too short."
They rented the motorcycle and went around the island.
Steve took her to have the peanut ice cream she wanted so much, then they rode a long distance with the motorcycle and went for lunch in a restaurant overlooking the rice fields with a soft breeze touching their skin.
"I loved the food, and that view, and that breeze. The day is perfect so far," Catherine told him as he checked a message on the phone.
"Well, our tour is over. I confused the dates, Harry's autograph afternoon is today. I'll pay the bill."
Catherine laughed. He was so relaxed that the days and hours didn't matter so much to him anymore. "That's why he confused the dates," she thought.
Steve paid the bill and they left.
"I'm sorry we can't go to the beach today so you can swim, but tomorrow we'll leave early for you to do that. We can use the hotel pool later," Catherine told him as she sat on motorcycle croup and put her arms around his waist.
"It's a good idea," he replied, and they set off toward the hotel again.
Two hours later, Steve and Catherine arrived at the resort for the Harry event. Harry waved to them when he saw them and they waved back.
"I'm going to buy the book, Steve," Catherine told him.
"What for, Catherine? I already have the book, I bought it in Hawaii."
"Steve, you don't go to an autograph afternoon if you're not going to buy the book. Get in line for him to sign," she answered and went to buy the book.
"Okay, Madame McGarrett," he obeyed.
Catherine was paying for the book when Nirmala called her. "Hi, Catherine!"
"Hi, Nirmala! Oh, you brought your little girl. She's beautiful!" Catherine ran her hand through the girl's hair. "Very cute, congratulations."
"Thank you," Nirmala answered.
The little girl reached out her arms to Catherine to pick her up on her lap. "Oh, you want to come with me, honey? Come here," Catherine picked her up and smiled. "Will I ever have a little girl like that?"
"Of course you will," Nirmala answered and looked at her daughter's smile. "She liked you, Catherine."
"Tell me what to give her for her birthday next week," Catherine told Nirmala.
"Whatever you want to give. Any gift will be welcome."
"But I'd like you to tell me what she needs," Catherine answered.
"Well, she's crazy about a little bike."
"It's hers then," Catherine said.
"Thank you, Catherine."
Steve looked at Catherine who was interacting with Nirmala's daughter. "She'll make a great mom, I'm sure," he thought. Catherine smiled at him and he smiled back.
