Yui had a bad night. Getting home, she was in a terrible mood and felt like she might actually let it all out. Every single thing that is put aside and safely locked away. She could not allow it, and that meant having to use the one thing that she knew that always helped, even if it makes things worse. Normally, a drink will help her relax, release the steam and then get back on track. Not this time. Having a drink was the worst solution she could have and she knew it. Letting things out was bad, very bad. This time, she wasn't allowed to release the steam, she had to put a good lid to hold the built up pressure in, and let the heat slowly die. The one thing that she could do was open her personal medication drawer and swallow her own prescription drugs. She knew what they did to her, but this was exactly what she needed.

The doorbell of the clinic rang. Loud, long and cutting through the silence. Yui woke up with a haze in her mind and looked at the time, not ever 7am. She heard the bell ring again and got up. Hana sure was early this time. Yui didn't care and was just going to tell her friend to come again later. Half way down the stairs to the first floor the realization came. This was not Hana.

Hana would not use the clinic door, she would go for the back door instead. Hana wouldn't ring the bell like that, she would pound on it. She would not stop there and would also call. This was not Hana. This means that at her door was a patient. Sometimes she got early visitors, someone who got hurt, from those living nearby, or something happening around her area and a doctor was needed, sometimes it was the hero who was on night patrol in the area after their shift ended and they had to deal with a villain at night. It usually wasn't very urgent but it was work.

She opened the door and took a mental note that taking her pills was the right choice. If she didn't, she would likely be unable to do her work properly if at all. This could be bad, very bad.

Eyes sunken even deeper than normally with the brightness of their blue dulled down. Pale skin that lacks almost all of its color except for some pink patches created by the cold wind biting at it and the dark bags under his eyes. Long and damp front locks hanging down with bits of snow and ice caught in them, completely missing the waviness at their ends. The rest of the mane, a messy state that can only be created by too much stress and too little care or sleep. Everything about the man standing outside the door screamed that he is a total and utter mess. He was in a dire need of rest. The way he carried himself showed that he was on the edge of a possible mental breakdown, unless he would first collapse due to fatigue, stress, bad health or all of the above combined.

Without a single word, the doctor stepped aside clearing the doorway and motioning to the much older guy to enter. Turning around to go to her clinic's small kitchen, she instructed him to get into the examination room and wait on the bed. He tried to say something but was interrupted and asked to do as he was told. With his head hanging low, he did so. Yui made sure to make some warm drinks as quickly as possible and while the cattle was doing its job, she changed into something other than her sleep wear and lab coat. When the drinks were ready, she took them into her office, a cup of decaf green tea with some herbs added for her guest and a cup of coffee with condensed milk for herself.

The night was awful. Toshi hated the fact that he was unable to spend the night as it was originally planned. He hated the fact that his phone broke at some point at the beginning of it so he was unable to let Mori-san know that he, sadly, would not be able to make it after all. He knew he had stood her up and felt terrible about it. He was sure she would be upset the next time they spoke but, he had to go and explain himself.

This night was the busiest he had in a long time. He was grateful that he didn't reach his limit before it all ended. It did leave him far from home when it was done and he was fully drained so he had to return by standard means. So there he was, by his doctor's front door, feeling terrible about what happened, or rather, didn't happen last night, more tired than he ever remembered himself, mildly scared of her reaction and not looking any better. At least he could be proud that, this time, he was able to reach everyone on time. He was able to save everyone and keep the rest of Japan peaceful.

When the door was opened, he expected anything but the younger doctor to be perfectly calm. She was abnormally calm. Then where her eyes. He felt a chill run down his spine. He was sure he got so used to being around her that the state of her expressionless, dead eyes and blank face stopped bothering him. He was wrong. It's not that he got used to it, it's more that she wasn't always this blank. He understood then, that she warmed up to him in the time they spent together, she opened up. Those were not accidental slips like the first time she sang in his presence. This time however, she was, completely and utterly empty. Like a well crafted porcelain doll meant to look alive but still wasn't.

Then there was her voice, as she instructed him to go to the examination room. It was almost robotic, just like the voiced announcement that the train has reached a station or how the GPS tracker tells you to turn left at the intersection. He tried asking her if she was alright, say he was sorry, and explain but she didn't let him. She wouldn't allow it. He knew he upset her but no longer knew what to expect. He had a long night and was tired so he gave up and just did as he was told.

When Yui entered her office, Yagi-san was seated on a chair meant for visitors. He tried to speak once again, and again was cut off. He looked like he was in "great" shape, she even heard him cough while she was making the tea. Now she saw that, as she expected, he was coughing blood again which didn't happen at all in the past 2 weeks, unless he didn't tell her, which would be plain stupid of him. She gave him his cup and told him to drink while she took her tools.

The general examination showed that he was not doing good. All in all, he was overworked, very overworked and his body wasn't keeping up with it. Between writing down her notes and testing different things, she drank her coffee and did not allow him to speak, unless it was to answer something she asked. When she was done with this, she instructed him to go, take off his shirt and get on the bed. It was time to go and use her special skills to assess the damages. She knew from experience that if someone was slowly recovering and wasn't taking care of themselves, things would only get worse. Using her own abilities to fix someone up, didn't make it any different, unless she just fixes it in one go. As tempting as it always is, the idea was always as bad as it gets. Now was the time to see just how quickly, if this continues, the best hero was going to kill her patient.

It took some time but the full scan was complete and Yui had a good idea of the situation. Her hard work, blood and tears were, thankfully not completely, wasted. There was regression, plenty of it even but a lot of what she fixed was in bad state once again. It almost made no sense. Everything about the situation made it feel, and look like the fragile man took a good beating. He was working for the biggest hero agency in the country as the personal secretary of the biggest man in said agency. He was supposed to be no more than a standard office worker, perhaps with more hours, an irrational schedule and some other things but, in no way, was he supposed to be built like a brick wall and look like he spent the night getting beaten. Also, giving some back if to take the bruising on his knuckles and the extra tension in his arms. Yui made a mental note to look into it later or to at the very least ponder on it and see what she can come up with.

At some point during the process, Yui started working on fixing some of the new damage to the man's organs. He will have to deal with the sore muscles himself. At some point, even though she wasn't being too careful, he fell asleep. So once she was done, she just let him sleep and went to get some much needed breakfast to herself as well as see the news. Yagi spent the whole of last night working and as much as she disliked it, she was going to see what All Might was up to that kept him up like that.
