"You say the puppet obeys you?" Ronodin asked.
"Yes," said the wizard, "Agad trusts me, allowing me to help reconstruct it. Added my own little failsafe."
"And if I asked you to use it to steal Seth?" Ronodin said, his voice smooth yet dark.
"I would say what's in it for me?" The wizard asked, going back to sorting his shelves, "I would lose the element of surprise, should I ever need it."
"What about the horn of a dark unicorn?" Ronodin asked innocently, "Would you accept that?"
"I would," the wizard agreed, "If I could see it."
Ronodin held out his horn and allowed the wizard to hold it. "Do you accept the deal?"
"The puppet is yours to command and I swear it on everything magical," the wizard agreed, "Now go."
Ronodin bower and left the room. Of course, that horn hadn't been his real one but simply an illusion from an amulet he picked up along the way. He would need his horns, and he had just gotten this one back from a different wizard. He now regretted giving them away, because now he had the power to do what he wanted himself.
