Hey everybird! What's up!?
So after some thinking, I decided that this here will be the very last chapter in not only this story, but the Blu in Brazil, Jewel in Minnesota trilogy!
However that doesn't mean the end of this alternate take on the movies, for I have also decided that one day I will do the one shot/short story series set in between the three stories in the trilogy! Don't know what to call it yet, but hope you're all looking froward to that!
And since this is the last chapter, no question of the day, so lets finally end on a journey that started years ago, in both the stories and well real life too!
Chapter 19: End of an Era
Years Later…
"Hurry up mom, dad, everyone's going to be there by now." A very little Blue and Scarlet hybrid chick called out to a couple of lagging young adults as another hybrid chick as flying besides him.
"Yeah mom, dad, everyone may leave us."The second chick agreed.
"Alright, alright, don't worry sweetie, it's still early." Brandon replied as he turned to look at the bird flying next to him. "I swear despite them growing up, they're more demanding than ever."
"Give it time, they'll change." Lily chuckled as the family flew towards a certain tree hollow in the Blue macaw tribe, arriving there and luckily those they were meeting were still there, well most of them anyway.
"Grandma, Uncle Carlos!" The two hybrid chicks shouted as they zoomed into the tree hollow to meet the two nearest birds.
"There's my favorite grandchildren." Jewel laughed as she hugged them while a few seconds later Brandon and Lily flew into the hollow. "Glad you made it in time son, Lily, it's just about time to leave."
"Good to see you too mom, where's dad and Tia?" Brandon asked.
"Oh they left early, need to prepare everything for the games today." Jewel replied back. "Which reminds me… Mom, dad, Brandon and his family are here." Jewel called to one of the rooms in the tree hollow as a couple of heads appeared.
"Finally the last of our family is here." Sebastian smiled seeing his grandson and his family as he came out, helping Valentina out, the two a bit slow, being very old now, with their feathers becoming more pale in blue now, but they were still as strong as ever.
"Good to see you my grandson, granddaughter, and my great-grandchildren." Valentina said as she scooped up her two great-grandchildren.
"Nice to see you too great-grandmother." One of Brandon's kids said.
"Well, lets not keep everyone else at the pit of doom waiting." Jewel spoke up.
"Great-grandma, grandpa, can you carry us?" Brandon's other chick asked politely.
"Son, I don't think that's a great idea, they're a bit…" Lily began, but stopped as well she didn't want to insult her in-laws with their age.
"Nonsense, Valentina and I are still fit enough." Sebastian dismissed his granddaughter. "Climb up." Sebastian lowering himself to allow one of his great-grandchildren to get on, which one did, the other getting onto Valentina's back.
"Now you might want to hang on, don't think I'm slow now even with you on my back." Valentina warned as now all together the family took off for the pit of doom where they meet the rest of the family as well as the Blue and Scarlet tribes, who were all gathering for the annual game day.
And today's game day would be a very special one as it was the first one for the new tribe leader of the Blue macaws, none other than Blu of course, taking over from his mother who finally decided to retire and enjoy the rest of her life. Blu was preparing the game day with the new Scarlet leader as well, Felicia's son Lucas while the two leaders were finishing up discussing some things, both the Blue and Scarlet teams were getting ready, doing exercises and planning strategies. And of course the leader of the Blue team was none other than Tia, who took over from her auntie Roberta's place as the right wing bird for her father.
"Alright, everyone has the game plan right?" Tia clarifying with the rest of the Blue team.
"You kidding, you drilled it into us like four times." One of the males rolled his eyes at the team leader.
"Just making sure, can't be too sure you all wouldn't make a mistake…" Tia coming up to the male player. "Especially you Jose…"
"Yeah I know…" Jose replied as Tia was in front of him. "Don't worry, we got this babe." Jose giving Tia a quick kiss.
"You two should save that for later." Blu's voice spoke up before Tia could say anything else, Blu coming up. "The team's ready sweetie?"
"Yes dad." Tia replied.
"Good." Blu smiled as something caught his eye as he looked up. "And it looks like the rest of the family is here so we can get started.
And indeed the rest of the family finally arrived, with Jewel going for Blu, while Brandon and Lily went to see Lucas to wish him luck while the rest of the family went to go find some empty seats in order to watch the games.
"Cutting in a little close now aren't we?" Blu joked as Jewel came to him.
"Sorry, had to wait for Brandon and his family." Jewel apologized. "So everything ready?"
"Yeah, although I'm a little nervous, it is my first time announcing the annual game day, it's harder than actually being a part of the games." Blu admitted.
"You'll do fine, if your mother can do it, so can you." Jewel encouraged Blu. "You know it's hard to believe we came so far, I still remember when I was that little scared chick in that box back in Minnesota when Linda found me…"
"Yeah and the first time I met you, when I was a jerk." Blu blushed, remembering the first moment he laid eyes on Jewel and well they hated each other's guts years ago, but now here they were, after so many adventures, still together and living to now have grandchildren, their love still strong as ever as it was when Blu saved Jewel from falling into the ocean.
"Well, we can look back later tonight when we're alone in our room after all the excitement of today." Jewel rubbing beaks with Blu. "Right now, you mister have to do your job to your tribe." Jewel teased Blu.
"Right…" Blu shaking his head to snap free from the memories for now and focus on the current task he needed to do now. "Wish me luck."
"You wouldn't need it." Jewel rolled her eyes at Blu as she joined the rest of her family, taking a spot next to her mother. "You doing okay mom, tired after carrying your great-grandchild?"
"Not at all sweetie, in fact I would be willing to take an injured player's place if I have to." Valentina replied.
"Well, I'm sure with Tia leading that wouldn't happen, sorry to disappoint you." Jewel said back as the two tribe leaders began the first game of the day, getting everyone's attention.
"Today is not only another annual game day, but also the first one as tribe leader for not only me, but Lucas here as well." Blu began as everyone quieted down to listen. "And well as my mother always says, today is just another way that we celebrate our collaboration and friendship between our two tribes and I'm happy to carry on from my mother's place, make our alliance stronger with each passing day. However I never would have gotten here without my own family, especially my Jewel, who was always with me no matter what and we'll always stay together." Blu looked in Jewel's direction as Jewel blushed bright red as Lucas took over.
"And the same is true for me, I'm glad to have a very supportive family, a mother who entrusted me with leading the tribe, a father who took care of me and my sister while mom led the tribe, and well the best sister ever who believed in me." Lucas smiled. "Now, I don't think you all came to hear us give speeches, I think it's about time we get started on the first games of the day." Lucas said as everyone cheered, wanting to get to the games already.
As soon as the two tribe leaders went to their spot in the very front of all the seats, the two teams took their place on and around the center rock pillar as wing shakes and the "coin"flip happened. As the game progressed, Jewel couldn't help but smile, thinking about everything that has led up to this point in her life, so many adventures and moments she would treasure forever and there was still a lot more to go in her life. Despite the many events in her life, in some ways Jewel felt her life was really just beginning, with lots more to go until well she was ready to go.
"And so ends another chapter in my life." Jewel told herself in her head as she continued to watch the game which marked the end, but also a new beginning.
And there we go! The final ending to this trilogy!
But I will say that it was a little hard to do this chapter since well… It is the last chapter of the series, so the expectations are really high… So well if you all aren't satisfied with this last chapter, than I'll get to revising it. But if you're fine with it, than this marks the end of this trilogy and work will soon begin on the series relating to this alternate take!
And with that…
See everybird later!
