Ch. 17: Yukkuri hankō
At his office, Tengan is starting to hatch up a plan to make Komaru obedient to the Future Foundation so that she can be used as a servant and utilize her pyrokinesis, which Kizakura seemingly objects as he is worried that it might trigger Komaru into rebelling further and might put Enoshima's efforts to tame the younger girl in vain.
However Tengan said he doesn't care as long as Komaru falls into complete control and when that happens the Future Foundation will be invincible and no one can stop him, saying that Makoto is now under the Foundation's power and Komaru will soon follow suit.
"And that is that. No one can stop me."
"Look, Tengan, I…"
"You don't have to worry. everything is under control."
"Are you sure?"
"Yup."
"How can you…?"
"Because I can."
"…"
Kizakura adjusted his hat as he wondered what Tengan is thinking, and there he opened the monitor and saw the footage where Makoto is struggling to try using his powers only to fall down while clutching his head in pain, and the elderly leader of the Future Foundation smirked and contacted his men, instructing them to beat up the boy.
This made Kizakura feel concerned as the footage shows that three guards came, armed with wooden batons, and took turns in beating up the boy, and there Kizakura is now wondering if Tengan knows what he is doing, only to sag seeing that the elderly man is waltzing around like a drunken ballerina and he asked him what will beating Makoto up would accomplish anything, which Tengan said that it will PERSUADE Komaru to surrender herself to the Foundation.
"And that is that. No one can stop me. And I mean no one."
"Look, Tengan, do you think that beating up that boy would…"
"Of course. It is all going according to my liking. You don't have to worry. everything is under control. Makoto Naegi will not rebel…and that girl will follow suit."
"Are you sure? Do you think that…"
"Of course. I lead the Future Foundation, so I know."
"How can you…?"
"Because I can. I can do anything I wish…and the Naegi siblings will do as I command."
"…"
As Tengan continued to waltz like an idiot, Kizakura is starting to disapprove of this as he feared that it would only provoke Komaru to go into rage, and as he attempts to persuade Tengan to stop the assault, Tengan just danced around and said that he will do as he pleases as long as it would break Komaru and make her submissive to his whims.
"Tengan…I think you should…"
"Nope. The torture continues."
"You can't be…"
"I am."
"You're hopeless."
"Of course not. I'm full of hope."
"For real?"
"Ho-ho-ho…"

At her cell-room, Komaru is sitting on the sofa, wondering when will she be set free and reunited with her brother, unaware of what Tangan is doing to Makoto at the moment, and soon Enoshima came and greeted the innocent girl, asking how is she doing, and there Komaru said she is losing patience as she feels that Tengan is not keeping his promise, but Enoshima assured that Makoto will be set free and both he and Komaru will gain their freedom.
She urged the younger girl to keep up with Tengan's antics for a little longer, saying that she has a feeling that Tengan is slowly bucking under pressure, which somewhat convinced the younger girl that Enoshima is telling the truth.
"Really?"
"Yup. Really?"
"Onii-chan and me will be…?"
"Looks like it."
"Then…"
"I'm sure you two will be set free sooner than expected."
"Really? That's great!"
"I know."
As this raised Komaru's morale, Enoshima just smiled, though deep inside she has an ulterior motive, but suddenly, the guards in asbestos suits came in and began to forcefully push Enoshima out of the room, while the rest attempted to use a syringe with needle on Komaru, and this made Enoshima pretend to act concerned and demanded to know what are they doing.
The guards said that this is Tengan's orders and that Komaru will serve the Foundation whether she agree or not.
"Hey! You can't…!"
"Sorry. Tengan's orders."
"You can't be serious!"
"Please leave."
"You'll provoke the girl!"
"She won't. she will submit to the Foundation."
"Stop pushing me!"
"Out."
As the guards pinned Komaru down they are about to inject her with the syringe's unspecified contents, and this triggered the younger girl into unleashing her powers, setting the guard son fire despite them wearing the asbestos suits, and the guards screamed in pain as they are being charred and ran around as they are slowly being burned to death.
"AAAAIIIIEEEE!"
"GGGGYYYAAAHHHH!"
"AAARRRGGHHH!"
"HHHEEELLLPPP!"
"AAAAIIIIEEEE!"
"GGGGYYYAAAHHHH!"
"AAARRRGGHHH!"
"HHHEEELLLPPP!"
Enoshima approached Komaru and urges her to calm down, though it was a bit difficult due to her being emotionally provoked, and the older teen girl kept on reaching her, telling her to calm down and not give in to rage, stating that she will get to the bottom of this and find out if Tengan really did this.
"Komaru!"
"…"
"Calm down!"
"…"
"I'll find out what's going on!"
"…"
"Ease up! Let me handle this!"
"…"
At the other room, Tengan smiled at seeing what transpired, and began dancing around like a stupid ballerina, and Kizakura is getting fed up, seeing that Tengan just unnecessarily sacrificed a few men just to provoke Komaru, but the elderly man said it is okay, as all that matters is that he got the data he wanted, and is considering in showing Komaru the footage where Makoto is being beaten up, so that he could see what intensity Komaru's power would reach.
Kizakura then called Tengan's comments as foolish and warned that if Komaru snaps, she might end up destroying the Future Foundation HQ, but Tengan kept waltzing around and said it won't happen as he noted that Komaru does not have the KILLER INSTINCT to carry out what Kizakura claims.
"And that is that. No one can stop me."
"Look, Tengan, You saw what she just did…!"
"I know. Saw it. But you don't have to worry. everything is under control."
"Are you sure? Look what she…"
"She won't. I can overpower her. Just like that."
"How can you…?"
"Because I can."
"You really are…"
Soon one of the guards contacted Tengan and said that Komaru is starting to go out of control as she is setting the room on fire and that five guards are being scorched to death, and feared that if this keeps up Komaru might be difficult to contain, and requested that they use a bit of force to restrain her.
As Tengan kept dancing like a fool, the staff member who contacted Tengan screamed as he is shown to be set on fire, and Kizakura saw the monitor where Komaru appeared, and she threatens to burn the whole place if he doesn't keep his promise about letting her see Makoto, and if the guards try to use injection on her again.
Kizakura twitched his eyes seeing that Komaru just left her cell and got into another room, but Tengan smirked and assured that it won't happen as the secret hidden nozzles at the communication room, unleashed sedating gases, and Komaru is caught by surprise, and soon she fell asleep, and there the elderly man began to do a Michael Jackson moonwalk dance, saying that there is no way that Komaru would defy him.
Kizakura begged to differ and stated that what happened just now is a preview of what is about to happen if he keeps on provoking the girl. Tengan waltzing around and said it will never happen as he has everything under control.
"And that is that. No one can stop me. You saw what I just did. That Komaru brat cannot escape me."
"Look, Tengan, You saw what she just did…! What if the next time she…"
"She won't. I'm a lot clever than her. So keep that in mind."
"Are you sure? Look what she…"
"Those guards are replaceable, and I can repair the Foundation again…it's easy as 1-2-3…"
"How can you…?"
"Because I can."
"You really are…"

Much later, Kizakura visited Makoto's cell, where he is sprawled on the floor after being tortured by the guards, and the man adjusted his hat, feeling a bit of sympathy towards the younger boy, as he is powerless due to the drugs being force-fed on him to neutralize his powers, and now he is under the torturous mercy of Tengan.
He approached the boy and asked if he is okay, and apologized for what happened, saying that all of this is Tengan's fault and it was his idea to do this as Kizakura revealed that Tengan intend to show this just to make Komaru snap and make her submit to Tengan's will, though Makoto appeared silent after hearing what Kizakura said to him.
"Really, kid. I'm sorry."
"…"
"I wish there is something I could do to help…"
"…"
"Can you hear me?"
"…"
"Kid…?"
"…"
However, Makoto slowly sat up, clutched his head and stared intently at Kizakura, telling him that he will need his help in getting out of here and to fetch Komaru, which made Kizakura stare in surprise, and before he realize it, he slowly went catatonic as blood dripped from Makoto's nostrils, signifying that his mental powers have returned and reactivated.
"You…you will help me and Komaru escape…"
"…"
"And you will provide a way to get us out of here…"
"…"
"You will do exactly as I say…"
"…"
"And make sure that you help me set Komaru free…"
"…"
Makoto instructed Kizakura on what to do, and Kizakura slowly fell under the boy's mental powers and he slowly nodded at hearing the younger boy's instructions as Kizakura became powerless to defy the younger boy.
"Now then…you will do exactly as I say."
"…"
"You will pretend that all is well."
"…"
"And when the moment comes…you will help me sneak out of this facility…"
"…"
"And help me get Komaru out of here…"

Hope you liked this chapter, as Komaru is continually being manipulated into doing the Foundation's bidding…yet she is starting to show signs of rebelling after slowly guessing that she is being tricked, and now the wheels of fate is starting to roll…
Especially after Tengan provoked her and nearly succeeded…
Makoto is being tormented again, and yet he perseveres and not give up…and now it turns out that he slowly regained his powers…and this time he has Kizakura under his thrall and makes preparations to get Komaru out of here…
