I know it has been a while, but unfortunately Myrtle Beach is back open..which means I am back at work. Dressed for surgery everyday, and not gonna lie..I wish everything had stayed shut. With that said, I hope you all enjoy what is down below.
When classes ended, McGonagall came back to gently pull back to the tower. Draco was allowed to follow me, as we walked together. Practically glued to one another, as we walked to Dumbledore's office. "How were you allowed to return?!" I heard the familiar voice of my father hiss.
"Due to who was behind the attacks, the ministry thought it best." Dumbledore replied simply.
"Who was behind the attacks?"
Dumbledore went quiet for a moment. "Voldemort." He said quietly, my breath hitched at this...as did my brother's beside me.
McGonagall, refused to pay attention to their conversation any longer. Her hand raked across the door softly. "Professor Dumbledore...I apologize...but there is someone here, who would like to see Mr. Malfoy." She explained, as she peaked inside. "Someone, I can imagine he wishes to see as well."
"Who could that be, McGonagall?" I heard Dumbledore question.
Draco let my hand go, a smile on his face. "He wants his little girl." He told me flat out.
I smiled at him, before peaking through the door. "Daddy?" I asked softly, he wasn't facing me; but I could tell he froze. In a split second, he turned to me.
"Amelia?" He asked, it was also then that I saw Potter standing there. He looked surprised, but also angered. Guess I was taking all his attention, well he can get over it. Unable to ponder on that for a second longer, as I was in Lucius's arms. "My Little Princess."
"Daddy…" I breathed, and with that I was in tears in his shoulder. "Daddy…."
"I'm here, baby...I'm here." He whispered, his hand rubbing my back.
"Miss Swan..it is good to see you-"
"Quit calling her that!" Lucius snapped. "She is my daughter, and you will recognize her as such." His voice was deadly, as he cut the man off.
"Albus..she has recognized Mr. Malfoy as her father..all that is missing is the potion and spell." McGonagall explained. "Mr. Potter, can you please leave..so that father and daughter may reunite."
"Yes, Professor." I heard the boy mutter, as he stepped out.
Dumbledore moved closer to us, gaining all of our attention. "Amelia, do you remember what happened?"
I shook my head calmly. "Not really, mean I remember going down to the dungeons...there was water all over the floor, and the torches were lit." My head fell into my father's chest as I spoke. "I thought...I saw yellow eyes in one of the puddles on the floor."
"Yes?" Dumbledore pressed.
"Albus." Lucius growled out. "You will let her take as long as she may need."
Placing my hand on his arm, I hoped it calmed him. "It's alright, Daddy." Turning back to the Headmaster, a sigh coming from my lips. "Afterwards..it was just dark..darkness took a hold of me...and I couldn't escape. Occasionally, I would hear a knocking..as if someone was looking for me, but they couldn't get through."
"Baby girl." Lucius whispered, kissing my head softly. "That's enough, no more...you need to rest."
"She should have rested, instead of going to Potions class." I heard Draco mutter.
"I had to go." I replied simply. "I was worried about you, Draco." My head bobbed slightly in his direction. "I was also worried about Professor Snape...and you Daddy."
Lucius's arms tightened around me, before he knelt down to my eye level. "Amelia...you should have allowed your body to rest, Snape and Draco could have waited a little while longer." He told me firmly, even as his voice started to crack. "Oh baby, I was so worried about you." He breathed, wrapping his arms back around me.
"I love you, Daddy." I whispered.
"I love you too, Princess." He replied softly, his lips touched my temple once again. "I always will, and I will always protect you."
A loud clap from Dumbledore startled me. "Ah, it is wonderful...to see a Father and daughter reunite..and I can only imagine the sight it was to see brother and sister."
"It was quite beautiful." McGonagall replied simply.
"Snape was happy, to." Draco replied simply. "Maybe now he won't take as many house points…"
"I doubt that." I replied simply.
Draco shook his head. "You don't understand, he took two hundred points from both Slytherin and Gryffindor..in one day." My eyes widened. "We are behind Hufflepuff."
I didn't know how I felt about that, but my arms opened to pull Draco to me as well. "I'm sorry."
"It isn't your fault." He replied simply, while he joined the family hug.
"I still hate worrying you." I replied simply.
Draco chuckled. "You're a Malfoy now." He replied. "We protect our own.".
"I could not have said it better myself." Lucius whispered, I didn't have to see his eyes to tell he was proud of us. "I love you both, my children." He turned back to look at Dumbledore. "Alright, I need to speak with the Headmaster some more...and I know it is dinner time."
"You will say goodnight, right?" I asked.
"Sweetheart, I will tuck you in." He replied simply, I kissed his cheek instantly...causing a grin to form on his lips.
"Okay, Daddy." I didn't know how long I would get such treatment...it wasn't like I was a tiny child. I was thirteen, and most teenagers stopped being tucked into their covers.
He smiled. "Go on."
Nodding my head softly, Draco took my hand as we walked back into the corridor. Potter was waiting, his arms crossed over his chest. "Why are you awake, and not Hermione?"
"Granger was petrified?" I asked surprised, looking toward my brother who nodded. Shrugging I turned back to the boy who lived. "It's possible she is, and she is taking Madam Pomfrey's suggestion in resting a bit longer."
Draco nodded. "Yeah, Pomfrey told Amelia she needed to rest...but she wanted to see me."
"Well brother dear, you offer such wonderful company." I replied simply. "Your still brat though…."
"Mudblood." Was the blonde's response.
Potter glared. "Swan, how can you think being called dirty is funny?!"
Meeting his green eyes simply, with my own. "Simple really, I don't let words like that bother me...it's stupid to allow people to get to you down, with words." Turning to my brother softly. "I'm going to go see if Snape needs help cleaning his classroom."
Potter narrowed his eyes at this. "Why would you help that old bat!?"
"First off, Professor Snape is 31...calling him old...is calling Professor McGonagall old." I told him simply, which his eyes went huge at that. "Another thing, Professor Snape is an excellent teacher….sure he is tough but there is a double meaning for that. Life isn't easy, why should Hogwarts be?"
"Nicely done, sis." Draco whispered, smirking beside me.
"Finally, he teaches me a few extra defense charms during the year. This one he taught me expelliarmus, and stupify. Mind you the Occlumency lessons have taken most of our attention, but he still made time." I added, meeting Potter's eyes. "He also made the attempt to find me, while petrified...I could hear him knocking."
Potter suddenly smirked. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you are developing a crush….hots for the Professor?"
This time it was Draco who spoke, before I could respond to such stupidity. "Are you stupid, or just plain dumb?" Biting my lip, as I tried not to laugh. "Amelia is trying to say, if you showed all of your Professors the respect they deserve...then maybe you would learn something useful in your life."
"What is going on out here?" The voice of my father asked, as he stepped out from Dumbledore's office.
Both my brother and I looked at him calmly, while Potter seemed to fidget a little. "Nothing father." Draco spoke softly. "Amelia and I were just explaining that whether Potter liked a particular Professor or not, he should still give them the same respect he does everyone else."
"That one would do a lot better in a class, if they only bothered to listen to what said Professor had to say." I added softly, moving to gently embrace the Malfoy patriarch,
"Now, none of that." He said simply, earning confused looks from both myself and Draco. Looking over I could see, Potter looked smug. "Give me a real hug."
Laughter quickly bubbled out, as I gladly held him tighter. My father returned the embrace, going so far as to kneel down. "I love you, Daddy." I told him softly, feeling his lips touch the side of my head once more.
"I love you, my Princess." He whispered in response. "Your mother will probably join me in, tucking you in this evening. She was quite distraught in learning of what had happened." I felt him shift slightly. "Don't worry, Draco. Your mother will tuck you in, if you want."
"I want to stay with my sister, but I know that won't happen." My brother replied simply.
I grinned at that, noting that a certain chosen boy was still watching my family and I. "Take a picture, Potter. It will last longer." Came out a bit snippier than I meant, but at the moment I didn't care. I was safe with my father and brother, and Merlin could not save Potter if he did something in front of my mother. Also, with everything that was going on..I doubted he would do something while in earshot of McGonagall, that one I was a bit iffy on though. Don't get me wrong, I knew the older woman would protect me...but I also knew nothing truly punishable will happen to Dumbledore's Golden boy.
"You still going to see Snape?" I heard my father question, snapping me out of my thoughts.
Looking to his grey eyes, I nodded. "Yes, Daddy. I have to thank him."
My father grinned brightly, a proud look overcame his eyes. "You are truly wonderful, my sweet Princess. I am sure, your Potions Master will be overjoyed to resume your lessons as well."
"I've got classes to make up." I replied.
"No you do not."
Looking over to see Dumbledore stepping out of his office. "Sir?" I asked, surprised.
"None of the students who have suffered due to Voldemort, will be punished. Your grades will not suffer." He explained calmly. "Though you will have to review this year, for your OWLS in your fifth year here."
My eyes were huge, and by the silence I could tell that my family had similar looks...though theirs were a bit subdued. "Thank you."
"You are most welcome." Dumbledore replied, I couldn't help but feel like he wanted something...he wanted me to do something for him, and that scared me. "Now, I'm sure Professor Snape will enjoy your company." His gaze shifted to Potter. "Harry, my boy. Will you please return to my office, I need to discuss something with you."
My green eyes trailed after both Gryffindors, before turning back to the two Slytherins around me. "Am I the only one a bit troubled by that?"
"No." They both said at the same time.
0.o.0
I didn't get to see Snape, like I had wanted. He had a long string of detentions he was delivering. However, today...today was Saturday. Rising as quickly as I could, dressing, I practically ran to the Great Hall. Ghost firmly around my neck as I ate a bit of toast and jam, my eyes searching as I sat beside my brother.
"Snape hasn't eaten in the Great Hall, not since you fell under." Marcus told me softly, Gemma was glued at my side. Crabbe, Goyle, and Blaise were all sitting across from me, as close together as they could be.
Looking over to the seventh year Quidditch captain, I nodded in understanding. "I guess he is in his office then." I muttered, a little concerned for the Potion Master.
"You affected us all, while you were out." Draco whispered. "I told you, Snape took it harder than any of us would have thought. Filch was also incredibly brutal."
"Even McGonagall, and Flitwick had incredibly short tempers." Crabbe added.
None of what they were saying made any sense to me, how could I make such an impact. Was I blind? No, it had to be everyone's imaginations. Right? I didn't voice these thoughts, but I found out for myself when I went down to Snape's office after breakfast. Gently knocking on the door, waiting for him to open the door.
His dark eyes met mine, it was then I noted the bags under them, they were so much worse than before. "Miss Swan." He greeted me, allowing me inside the room.
"Professor." I returned softly, noting he had a large plate of food….that he had yet to touch. "I apologize for disturbing your breakfast."
He shook his head, as he sat down to eat. "I assume you rested well, unlike yesterday."
"Sir?"
"Foolish." He replied, pushing his plate away. His form leaned over his desk, as his dark eyes met mine. Black greasy locks fell slightly in his face, a puzzling feeling filled me as I took in his expression. He seemed both concerned, and angered. "You should have allowed yourself to rest, and then greeted us all in the Great Hall like Miss Granger did."
"But sir, I had to see my brother immediately." I stated simply…."I also wanted to see-"
"Silence." He replied simply.
My green eyes must have been wide, before something else could be seen in his eyes. "I'm sorry." I finally whispered. "But the truth is, I wanted to see you."
He sat back at that. "Why? Because I help you get ahead of your classmates?"
Shaking my head, I could feel a small smile fall upon my lips. "No sir…..I wanted to see you, because I heard you." I told him calmly, his pale hands gripped his chair; before standing. "There wasn't much I could see, nor that I really recall...just darkness. That is what surrounded me."
"What did you hear?" He asked, his voice screamed his exhaustion. No matter how hard he tried to hide it, I could detect it.
"Not much, it was like a knocking on the door." I whispered, his back going to me. "I couldn't see where it came from, no matter how hard I tried...I just couldn't open the door. But, it was the only thing that kept me from going mad."
Eyes lingered on him, as he seemed to walk around a bit. Finally he turned back to me. "Miss Swan…" He spoke, before trailing off.
"There isn't anything else I can say...but thank you." I told him softly, while turning back to his food. "You should really eat, Professor. There are a lot of dunderheads, still holding detention later."
A snort followed my words, before he moved to sit back across from me. "Very well, however...we will hold a lesson as soon as I am finished….you have a lot of catching up to do."
"I agree, but I am confident with the right teacher...that it won't be a problem….especially with how persistent he can be." I smirked, as his signature eyebrow rose.
"We may have to hold summer lessons, along with your upcoming meetings with the Seer." He replied simply. "It is a good thing, I accompany your family during the summer months."
"I look forward to it...rather learn any how." I replied.
"Ravenclaw." He replied.
"Ah….but no I'm not." I stated, mirroring his smirk.
Snape nodded, before vanishing his plate of untouched food. "Let's start."
I tried to keep Snape in character I really did, but him slowly starting to open up to her is bound to happen. Alright, are you ready for your trivia questions?
1) How did you like Snape's response to Amelia?
2)Are you excited for her to be at Malfoy by name?
3) To what extent will Lucius, Snape, Narcissa, and Draco go to keep Amelia safe when Voldemort returns?
4) Will Dumbledore find a way to use her as a weapon, similar to but very different in how he uses Potter and Snape?
I threw in a forth question, because I thought you would like it.
