I don't own RWBY.

Flipping his lighter open and closed, Hector was sitting inside a Bullhead with a woman in red. Also sitting in the Bullhead was a girl with pink, white and brown hair. "What exactly is your plan here, Hector?" Looking up from his lighter, hector looked at the woman in red.

"It's simple. Have Umbra kill Eliza, then recruit him. What the kid really wants is power. If I promise that to 'em, then he'll join for sure." Going back to his lighter, the woman crossed her arms.

While she didn't care for the man, she knew he got results. Even if some of the things he did were… questionable. "What if he doesn't kill Eliza? What if she manages to talk him down? He is still a kid after all." Shutting his lighter, Hector pocketed it before putting his hands behind his head.

"I'll kill her myself then. Even if Umbra refuses to join after, Eliza dying is much more important." Sitting upright, he put his hands on his lap. "Umbra joining us is only a secondary objective."

"Isn't he your child?" The women didn't care for such things, but she was interested in his thinking.

"Yeah. But this world has no room for the weak. Whether he's related to me or not doesn't change a thing." The short one next to the woman in red gave a sadistic smile.

Now in Atlas's airspace, Hector stood up. "Alright, remember. 'Cindy's' staying here while you're with me half pint." Both women seemed highly unamused. "You're our backup Cinder. Not like I'm gonna need it, but, ya know. Meanwhile, you're gonna use your semblance to hijack us a ship Neo. Once you do, signal me and I'll bring our crew aboard." Smiling, he looked out the window. "I bet the White Fang are gonna love this."

Two Bullheads touched down near the Academy/Base combo. Leading a group of White Fang members Hector took things slow. If fighting had started, the whole base would be on high alert. Once they had stolen the ship, he would be free to go after Umbra and Eliza. Upon reaching the doors leading to the ship bay, he sent Neo ahead to deal with the guards. Meanwhile, he went to find the console that controlled the big doors.

Waiting on the all clear message, Hector and his crew had taken out the control room quickly. Being the middle of the night, they were operating on a skeleton crew. With his scroll buzzing, he knew it was time. Sending the White Fang members ahead, he opened the hatch that would allow them to leave. Once that was done he ran out of the room and stretched over to the ship. In the air, he'd be able to stretch over to where the fighting would be happening.

While they were rising up into the air, he got a call on his scroll. Seeing it was Cinder, he picked it up. "Miss me already?" A sigh could be heard on the other end.

"They're on top of the ship." Walking over to the monitors, Hector could see Cinder wasn't lying.

Hanging up, he put his scroll in his pocket. "Well would ya look at that. You came to me this time." Crossing his arms, Hector waited to see how things played out. When he saw they weren't going the way he wanted, he sighed and made his way to the hatch.

Taking things into his own hands, Hector unsheathed Decimation. Stretching over to Eliza, he stabbed her all the way through to the other side. Covering Umbra in her blood. Chucking her over the side of the ship, Hector gave Umbra a smile. "Congrat's Umbra. You did it! You've now helped kill two of the people responsible for Sahara's death!" With Decimation resting on his shoulder, he threw his free arm out in a dramatic fashion. "Don't you feel better now?" Hector couldn't stop smiling. "You feel so much better, you feel like joining me and my friends. Right?"

Stumbling back, Umbra had a scared look on his face. "Screw you, and screw your friends!" Well that was uncalled for. Grabbing onto his sword, Umbra rushed Hector. Knowing he was drained from his fight with Eliza, Hector settled for deflecting all of his attacks.

Laughing, Hector couldn't believe just how stupid his own son was. "So. This is what you want. Huh?" Stretching out of the way of Umbra's next attack, Hector retaliated with a punch. It sent Umbra flying, nearly falling off of the ship. Picking up Umbra's weapon, he stabbed it into the ship before breaking it."Oops. My bad." Chucking it over to Umbra, Hector started walking over to him. Stepping onto his hand, Hector lifted him up by the wrist to face him. "Come on Umbra. Join me, and I promise you'll get stronger. With the help of these people I've met, you could leave your weakness behind, and become like me."

For awhile, Hector thought he would accept. Only for Umbra to spit in his face. Throwing him back onto the ship, he wiped his face. "You've got it all wrong you sadistic freak. I'm not weak anymore. Because of what you did, I have a reason to fight! And I'm not going to stop until you die!" Turning to face Umbra, Hector ignited Decimation.

Now he was just being unreasonable. "You're this angry, over one person!? What of the people who died at Beacon!? Or in the surrounding villages!? I doubt you give a shit about them!" While it was true that one person was his mother, Umbra had barely known her. Could he really care about someone he only knew for seven years? Hector was easily able to let Sahara go, and he knew her for most of his life.

Suddenly, Umbra seemed to grow an arm and sword out of thin air. Smirking, he rushed Hector. While he knew about Umbra's ability to teleport, for the lack of a better word, he didn't know anything about making thins appear out of nowhere. Moving faster than he expected, Hector was attacked from behind.

Their battle seemed to wage on forever, neither one of them holding the advantage. Staring Umbra down, Hector had enough. "That's it! I'm done playing around Umbra! You had your chance, and you wasted it!" With a flourish, he impaled Decimation into the ship. Pumping it full of his favorite dust type. Fire. "It's time to join your mother in death Umbra!" Explosions could be heard going off. Losing power, the ship started falling. While he was open Umbra chose to rush Hector. Pulling up next to the ship was the Bullhead that had Cinder on board. Blasting Umbra with her powers, she sent him flying off the side. As she shot once more, he could tell Umbra had tried making his way back up.

Stretching over to the Bullhead, Hector boarded it. On board, Neo was sending him a death glare. "What's got your panties in a bunch?" It was a rhetorical question. For one, he knew the girl was mute. Secondly, he'd be pissed as well if someone blew up the ship he was on without warning.

Also giving him an angry look was Cinder. "Why did you blow up the ship? You know Watts isn't going to like this."

Scoffing, Hector made his way to sit down. "Screw Watts, he can suck my di-"

"Enough. I won't take the blame for your temper tantrum. Once we return, you will have to explain why you failed. Not only to Watts, but her as well." Taking out his lighter, Hector didn't want to listen to her rattle on. Going back to flipping his lighter open and close, he zoned out. While he wasn't angry over the fact that Umbra had gotten stronger, he was more pissed over the fact that he literally spat in his face. Hector held out his hand to help him, and Umbra spat in his face.

Not only that, but now he was in deep trouble. If he wasn't able to convince Salem to give him a second chance, he was done for. Hector had promised to recruit his son. He told her how strong he could make him. Smiling, an idea came to his mind. If he could deliver that girl with silver eyes to her on a platter, maybe he'd be forgiven. No. He knew he'd be forgiven.
