Sam was looking up at the General. Three weeks had passed since the announcement of new SG teams. SG-11 had already done one mission with SG-4, but it was to a planet they had been to before. There was no known danger, but it was on the Gou'ald gate map, so there was a threat. The MALP had picked up the high reading of precious metals readings the last time, but SG-7, who went exploring, couldn't come up with anything. Some ruins that may have been ancient were also found and Daniel was highly interested. The mission ended up being a bust. The MALP's calibration for metals was wrong, and the ruins were too complicated. However, Daniel was excited they had no way of knowing what they were. Daniel took multiple pictures and videos, storing them, hoping they would find the key to the puzzle one day.

Sam, Daniel, Teal'c Jack, Robert, and Michelle all sit around the briefing room. Their first dual mission was set to occur on Tuesday at 1300. Being Friday at 1500 hours, they were all itching to get out for the weekend before going off-world. Daniel was going over some ruins the MALP found extremely close to the gate. Sam had already talked about the readings, Michelle had already gone over the biological hazards, and the General was the last to speak about their orders before going through the gate.

Sam had been smiling at Jack because he had officially asked her out on there first date a few days prior. After they were done, she would be going home to get ready. Sam was more than excited. They had a few conversations in the past few weeks, but nothing overly personal. Jack's hands had been touching her more, when he came to visit her in her lab, he would touch her shoulder, when they would go get lunch together, he had started bumping into her lightly on purpose. Sam had let it happen and loved the slight contact they had been having. It was far from inappropriate, but it was Jack's way of showing he was ready for something more. It made Sam a little nervous. Daniel's words coming to the front of her mind. She wasn't sure if she was ready to give the gate up. She knew if she was ever to have a baby if she could ever have a baby that she wouldn't be going through the gate. She wouldn't put her self in any more danger. Her mother dying was an accident that could happen to anyone at any time, and Sam just wondered what her odds of death were anytime they went through the gate. She knew she could easily calculate and even started to in her mind but stopped when the first number was already too large of a percentage to contemplate.

She knew that she and Jack were both bound to the Stargate program for life. Daniel as well, but he would be free to move around a bit more than the two of them, but he would no doubt be asked to come help translate. Teal'c was prized for knowledge but wouldn't be held to stay on Earth.

Sam couldn't really focus on the mission ahead when she had a date with her official, former commanding officer. When they officially changed over, Sam wanted nothing more than the official congratulations kiss but, knew it wouldn't happen. Even if Jack had come across to do it, she would stop him. They didn't need any rumors on the base. There has been plenty of speculation for years now, but neither would confirm or deny anything.

Sam wondered how many investigations there would be when they officially announced a relationship. She had a feeling that General Hammond could have already given a heads up and squashed anything higher up. She wished that she and Jack had met at some other time. She was annoyed that her life was so complicated but knew she wouldn't have it any other way. If she wasn't with the Stargate program, she couldn't imagine where she would be. She wondered if she would be let into NASA. She knew woman went semi-regularly now of days, but she wasn't sure if she would have made it. She was sure there was a universe out there where she was an astronaut. She hoped that was enough for the other version of her. She shook her head out of the multiple thoughts, and Sam looked up to see Daniel still pressing on about the ruins and what they could be.

Jack had taken up playing footsie with her, and she rolled her eyes at him but smiled. Daniel caught the mid eye roll and felt personally attacked for half a second before realizing that the look was specifically meant for Jack. Daniel wanted to roll his eyes back at the two of them but refrained as he continued on with the slide show presentation.

The next time Jack noticed what was happening in the room other than Sam was when the General stood to speak.

"With that, it's obvious why this is a critical mission. Hopefully, everything will go as to plan. Your teams have 72 hours to do an initial search and report back any new finds, to see if this is a planet that needs further investigation. Dr. Sylan Major Lindsey, I hope that SG-11 and SG-1 welcome you, but don't be too offended if they seem to be talking with only facial features to one another. I am sure they will be most welcoming, but the four of them are very in sync with each other. Watch one another. Please, lacking any disasters take this weekend off, I will see you in the Gateroom Monday 1300, dismissed." General Hammond claimed.

Daniel smiled over at Michelle and Robert, hoping that they took the General's words to heart. They regularly worked with other SG teams in the past and trusted them with their lives, but the four of them were bound together by everything they had gotten into over the past few years and would take time to let some new people into their family.

Sam had told Janet about the date, she has known for a long time now, that they had feelings for each other. Janet was shocked that they had admitted to each other. Janet was happy for them. She wanted to make sure that Sam was leaving soon, so after her shift, she went and knocked on Sam's lab door.

"I'm headed topside, you sure you're ready for this?" Janet asked.

"It's just a date, Janet," Sam claimed calmly.

"With a man you've had your eye on for how long now?" Janet asked.

Sam groaned.

"What am I going to do, Janet?" Sam asked.

Janet smiled.

"You've known him for as long as I have. You know Colonel O'Neill." Janet stated.

"But tonight he's Jack," Sam claimed.

Janet bit her lip for only a second.

"Sam, you know in general he's the same guy. It's just like any other first date. You just happen to know more about him, which should make it easier." Janet claimed.

"Will it?" Sam asked.

"You two will be fine," Janet claimed.

Sam smiled.

Sam finished her lab work and went home.

Sam had an hour before Jack was supposed to be at the door. She went through her closet, and with no clue on where he would be taking her, she weighed her options. Fall was quickly approaching, but the air was still warm. It was colder at night enough for a jacket. She found a green dress with just a minor scoop neck. It had a lace pattern over the top and hit right at her knee. She put on a pair of black boots, She took out a darker lipstick than she wore at work. She usually wore very neutral tones, but this lipstick was as red as red could be. She carefully swept the color over her lips, and that's when she heard the knock on the door.

"Damn." She said out loud. She hadn't realized how long she had taken to actually pick out the outfit. She quickly swept mascara through her lashes and ran to the door.

Sam smiled brightly at Jack, who was wearing black slacks and a blue button-up shirt. He had tucked in, which surprised Sam the most. Sam smiled at the man she has always thought of hers. Her Colonel, her friend, her family, her protector. He was someone who always had her back. She couldn't believe that finally, he was officially hers to date.

He gave her his famous lopsided grin, and in return, she smiled brightly at him.

"You look beautiful, Sam," Jack said calmly.

Sam blushed at the comment. She grabbed her jacket and had Jack lead her to his truck.

Sam was quiet. She hated that she was nervous.

"Sam?" Jack asked.

"Hmm." She responded.

"I can hear you thinking," Jack stated.

Sam looked over at him with a frown.

"Hey, is something wrong?" Jack asked.

"No, of course not," Sam claimed.

Jack reached for her hand and squeezed it.

They were driving north towards Denver and Sam noticed they were headed to Pikes Peak. As they made there way up, Sam knew where they were going despite never being there before. He was taking her to the winery.

Sam smiled when they stepped out and went to the main dining room. It wasn't overly crowded, but Sam pulled in closer to him, and he wrapped a hand around her waist. Sam felt the coldness when they pulled apart to sit in separate seats at a high top. Various meats and cheeses were brought out—different bread. A wine sampling was done. Jack and Sam were making light conversation. As the drinks started coming a bit more frequently, Sam felt herself ease up slightly.

After the winery, the sun had already set, and Jack had asked if she wanted to go for a walk. It was a path lit up around the area, over to pond, the lights lit up the hungry koi looking for food. There were benches along the trail, and Jack finally decided to set at one. Sam was cold, and she put her jacket on. Jack pulled her close to him.

"Was this okay?" Jack asked.

"It was wonderful," Sam claimed.

Sam allowed her head to lean on his shoulder, and Jack let out a breath of relief. Sam smiled at the noise.

She hesitantly put her hand on his thigh and felt sparks. She tried to get her body to calm down, but it wasn't going to happen with the close proximity of Jack O'Neill, so she gave way and let the tinging sensation stay. This felt like a dream and Sam was wondering when she would wake up.

"Did you know?" Jack asked.

"Know what?" Sam asked.

"That it was going to be like this, feel like this?" Jack asked.

Sam smiled once again, knowing he was feeling the same way.

"I hoped so," Sam claimed.

She pulled her head from his shoulder, and his face turned to hers. Sam put her lips on to Jacks, and her heart fluttered with joy. She refused to make out in public space, although her body was begging for more. The tingles were enough to make her stand up and pull him with her.

Jack was surprised by Sam's sudden urge to leave the place.

"What I thought you liked it here," Jack stated.

"I was thinking of somewhere for dessert," Sam claimed.

Jack had a confused look on his face expecting her to say she wanted Frozen Kone or Creamery Corner, but Sam had offered no insight into what dessert she had in mind.

Jack had been driving back towards her house, almost at her exit.

"What did you have in mind?" Jack asked.

Sam looked over at him.

"You want ice-cream or cake?" Jack asked.

Sam looked at him.

"When I said dessert, I meant you," Sam claimed.

"Oh!" Jack stated.

Jack felt like an idiot, a dummy, how could he have not put two and two together. He has completely ruined it.

"If you just want to go home," Sam claimed.

"NO!" Jack stated, quite loudly, causing Sam to smile again.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean for you to think..." Jack started, but Sam shushed him, and he complied.

They had made it to Sam's house, and She was already at the door with her keys before Jack even got out of the truck.

His heart was pounding. He felt giddy, excited happy.

He got out of his truck and to her door before she actually unlocked it following her in.

Sam turned around, closed the door, and stepped up to Jack, kissing him on the lips. She hadn't meant to, but she had shoved him against the wall, and she was pushing her body on top of his. There were too many layers with her jacket and his, but it felt good, and she wasn't daring to let him at of her grasp anytime soon.

Jack felt the dizziness in his head as Samantha Carter kissed him senseless. She was a great kisser, and Jack wasn't sure he could ever get enough of those lips. He was going to have a hard time managing in the briefing room watching her lips. He suddenly realized how close she was, how perfectly he rigid he was up against her wall. If this was anyone else, he would have felt trapped, he would have never let this situation happen, but Samantha Carter could do anything she pleases with him.

Sam finally felt herself overheat in the leather jacket and pulled away, fearful he would make some excuse to leave.

When he didn't move from her hallway, she took it as a good sign. His dazed face told the whole story, and she giggled, snapping him out of it.

"I'm going to get some water, you want something?" Sam asked.

Jack nodded, he too found his mouth dry.

Sam grabbed two bottles of water out of the fridge, not sure what the next step was. It was her home. She should show him to the living room.

She shook her self out of it and motioned him to follow her. She sat on the couch, and Jack sat next o her. She slid her shoes off and curled into him.

"Thanks for tonight," Sam stated.

"Well, if that's the kind of thanks I get, I will take you where ever you want to go anytime," Jack stated.

Sam smiled. It was late, and she was tired. Sam leaned into him, knowing her eyes were closing faster than she could stop them.

She woke up to Jack playing with her hair, and she turned to face him.

She blushed deep red, I didn't mean to fall asleep on you." Sam claimed.

"Don't worry about it, Sam," Jack said quickly.

"It's late I should go," Jack claimed.

"Stay?" Sam asked.

"Stay?" Jack parroted.

"I mean, if you want, you don't have to if this isn't what you want," Sam stated, sitting up quickly out of his lap.

"It's exactly what I want but, you're tired and have nothing to change into," Jack stated.

"Just stay," Sam asked again.

Jack nodded his head.

She came out of the spare room with one of his t-shirts and a pair of gym shorts.

"So, you just secretly steal my stuff now?" Jack asked he had been looking for those shorts forever.

"You and Daniel leave more clothes here than I own. Teal'c always takes everything of his after he stays." Sam smiled.

Jack smiled and went to her bathroom.

He used the bathroom, washed his face, and changed into loose-fitting clothes. He was comfortable. He had done this before many times. He had actually walked into the guest bedroom, surprised that Sam was there as well.

"So, is this what you meant?" Jack asked.

Sam looked at him but didn't say anything. She had decided that the guest room was neutral ground. It was her house, but he had slept in that room way more than she ever had. So she nodded her head but climbed in bed, patting the side next to her.

Jack smiled.

He followed after her, lifting the cover and slowly inching his body towards hers. Sam was facing him, and their lips touched. He was smiling at her as she continued to push her lips on his.

After a while, the kisses slowed, and Jack could tell she was tired.

"Let's get some sleep." Jack finally stated.

Sam turned on her side, and Jack wrapped an arm around her. He felt her deep intake of breath and muscles contracted when his hand touched side. He smiled at what his hands did to her. After a while, though Jack noticed Sam didn't calm down, she was on alert, which made him nervous.

"Is this okay, Sam?" Jack asked.

"Mmm-hmm," Sam stated in a higher than normal tone.

"Sam," Jack asked again.

"I'm okay, Jack, it's okay," Sam said with a more even tone.

Jack didn't push and readjusted.

Sam knew that he wouldn't hurt her. She knew that in her head and her heart, but the weight of his arm felt like it pinned her in place with no way to escape. She knew it was stupid, and she knew if she wiggled, he would move his arms away for her to adjust. She didn't. He would catch her overactive mind trying to calm herself down. Jack's words calmed her like they always had, and she turned, so the weight of his arm was more ribs than her waist and fell into a comfortable sleep.
