A/N - This one has some time skips. It starts after Hermione leaves and Harry talks with the brothers for the first time (chapter four) and then picks up the morning after the reunion (chapter seven).

After learning of Hermione's disappearance the twins worried about her safety. They waited to see if they would receive any letters from the witch and when nothing arrived they started their own investigation. While Harry searched in his free time, the twins worked out products that would do the searching for them. When the results mirrored what Harry found, namely nothing, they regrouped. By the time the new year rolled around, the desperation to find their friend only ratcheted higher.
In addition to the fears about Hermione, they were finding themselves fully withdrawing from their parents. Their mum, who they did love, obviously lost her mind. She continued to send daily letters to the Prophet about how the wizarding world should be venerating Dumbledore. Most people agreed a Riddle-less world was ideal, but neither did they want a world where Dumbledore was the winner. Not that their mum agreed, and most of the world now wrote her off.
When George returned to the apartment above the shop after his first visit to Harry, he found Fred and Bill waiting. "What did he say?"
George, whose anger could be seen, grunted, "you need to hear it for yourself." The trio appeared at Harry's and spent hours talking about what happened and watched as Harry nearly broke down. The difficultly only increased when the topic of the diaries came up and Harry admitted he didn't know what to believe.
George, confident Harry would eventually agree to read the diaries at some time down the road, pulled the copy of the books Hermione gave him and packaged them for Harry. When the time came, he would be ready.

Fred thought about Harry's comment and realized they should start sending Hermione letters too. Maybe if she knew she had support she would at least let them know she was ok. The twins wrote one letter per month, most of the letter focused on the shop, top sellers, new ideas and problems they encountered on some of their more complex plans.
Like Harry, they never received a response, but continued to send the letters. None came back with their owl, so also like Harry, they believed she was reading them. As the months turned to years, the twins began to notice an odd thing, when they had a particular difficult issue and after telling Hermione about it in a letter, they would get some assistance.
Sometimes it was a story in the Prophet talking about a new theory and how it could be used. Other times they would read an article in one of the trade publications on a new discovery. When they requested contact information or permission to use the idea, they always received a formalized agreement. While they suspected Hermione was behind the agreements, they couldn't find any evidence other than memories of conversations from while they were in regular contact with the witch. With the lack of evidence, the twins kept their suspicions to themselves.
The twins took a royalty percent from each idea obtained from the agreements and deposited it in a separate account at Gringotts. It was what they planned to do with Hermione, but hadn't told her before she felt the need to disappear. Each quarterly deposit identified the product and amount of sales for the period.

On a random July morning, Fred recognized the owl sitting on the perch as the one that delivered agreements. At the current moment, they didn't have any problems with ideas so the owl's appearance was odd. The bird hooted and stuck out its leg. Fred scanned the letter and let out a whoop before yelling at George to get out of bed.
George, barely awake, took the piece of parchment from his overly excited brother. "Read it Forge! She's back!" Fred continued to dance around the room in sheer happiness as George focused on the letter.
Fred & George,
I'm sorry for not contacting you over the years, I've been selfish and hiding out in plain sight. I know I've not been as involved as we originally planned, but I hope you've been able to use my suggestions when you've hit those brick walls. I think you will probably hear about my return soon. Last night was a reunion of my Hogwarts class and I attended with my husband. I saw Harry and plan on meeting him later today, but I wanted to let you know before the inevitable gossip started.
If you are still open to my assistance, I've been making a list of ideas I've had over the years. In fact, I have an idea for a new line of products for mothers of devious children. I suspect you have some thoughts, as you were devious children yourself.
I'd love to come by the store and introduce you to the boys, I know Scorpius will find the store quite exciting. I told Ares to stay until you send him home, so feel free to send your response with him.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Hermione
"We need to get the letter sent. I can't wait to see her ideas." When Fred reached the door he stopped and turned, "Angelina, I know you're under the blankets, get dressed and come eat with us. I'm tired of having to leave the room so you can floo home secretly." Fred only laughed at the irate witch who refused to remove the covers from her head.

The reunion with the twins went well and by the time August rolled around, Hermione had seen all the Weasley brothers. Bill hugged the witch and apologized on behalf of his family while Percy stated he found HDCP a stellar example of what the magical world could do if they wanted something badly enough. Charlie laughed at his younger brother's stiff comment.
"The twins told me about your boys, specifically Scorpius. He's a fan of dragons, isn't he?" Hermione knew the twins weren't the only pranksters in the family and recognized the expression on Charlie's face. When Hermione nodded to the question the expression only deepened. "Good, you and the family come out to Romania, there's a dragon out there I think you should see again." Hermione laughed and found a weekend that worked for everyone.

A/N2 - And we've reached the end of the line for The Reunion. From the depths of my heart, thank you so very much for your support and love of the story. It seems reunion stories are a fan favorite.
Not sure what my next story will be, but I just got a new job (yeah!) so hopefully it helps to motivate me to sit and write in my free time. Maybe too much free time is a bad thing ...
Thank you again for your support by reading, following and favoriting, for those of you who've left a review (or two or more), it means a lot to me. See you next time.
