Chapter 17
Two weeks later
Walking through one of the White Fang warehouses, Dean's scroll buzzed in his pocket. Pulling it out, he was surprised to see a text from Yang. He hadn't spoken to any of the Team RWBY members since the time at the docks.
Hey.
Me and my team are heading to Vale for a bit of shopping.
I figured you might wanna join?
Could be a good opportunity to make friends with Weiss.
Dean stared at the last message with disgust. Without really thinking about it, Dean wrote his reply.
Yeah, that's gonna be a 'no'.
A few seconds later, Yang sent another message.
Why won't you forgive her?
Dean sent his reply.
Because I've been around people like her my whole life.
I know someone like her can't change in two days.
A few more seconds went by before Yang replied.
If you change your mind, we'll be in Vale.
Closing and putting his scroll away, Dean entered the office of the warehouse. "Once we get enough dust, we'll attack Beacon with everything we have." Adam said. He, Cinder, Emerald, Mercury, Roman and Neo were standing at a table. "With it gone, we-"
Adam was cut off as Mercury tapped his shoulder, gesturing to Dean. With all eyes now on him, Dean looked to each person before him. "You plan to take down Beacon?" he asked. Emerald reached for her weapons as Mercury clenched his fists.
With the silence growing more and more heavy, Dean looked to Emerald and Mercury. "Go ahead." he told them. "Hell, count me in on it, too."
"What?" Emerald said, taken back by Dean's words. "Just like that, you're willing to help destroy Beacon?"
"I wasn't kidding when I said I'd do anything." Dean replied. "Whatever it takes to find the rest of the A.F.G. I'll do it."
"Is that so?" Cinder asked. She was growing more and more intrigued by this young man.
"I no longer care about that school, or becoming a Huntsman." Dean said. "With the kind of scum they allowed into the school proves just how little they truly care. It's not what I envisioned. So, if there's a way I can help, just let me know."
Cinder smirked as Emerald and Mercury shared uncertain glances. "There might be a few uses for you." Cinder told him. "We could use you as a very valuable piece to our plan."
"Where do you need me?"
"Emerald, Mercury, myself and-" Cinder glanced back as she gestured to Neo. "-that one will be attending Beacon as guest students from Haven."
"Where do I come in?" Dean asked.
Cinder looked Dean up and down. "You'll play the role as my boyfriend."
