Bellamy shook Rose awake- and Rose fell out of the bed startled- even though she hadn't even had a nightmare the previous night.

She had, actually, been sleeping quite peacefully and was annoyed that she had to be shaken awake and out of her zen state.

"What- gosh, Bellamy, what is it?" Rose muttered as she got dressed and wiped the hair out of her face.

"Um, what is it?" Bellamy asked sarcastically, "I don't know, it's just that this morning, it's your, um, first OWL exams."

Rose quickly blinked her eyes and looked over at Bridget and Hannah who were already fully dressed.

"No, no, no," Rose said in a panic and lifted her hands. Bellamy crossed her arms and stood there giving her a mothering look of you-should-have-been-more-prepared-but-instead-you-were-too-busy-convincing-the-school-that-you-didn't-interfere-with-the-Triwizard Tournament.

Rose hated that particular look.

"Oh yes, Ms. Potter, I'm afraid to inform you that our OWLs are in 15 minutes, and while we do want to be supportive friends of yours at the moment, we can't risk losing more points for being late, so we have to go."

Rose looked desperately at her friends, and Hannah just gave her an apologetic look.

"Sorry, Rose," Hannah said sympathetically, "Bellamy's right- you know Mad-Eye takes no favorites and grades everyone the same."

Rose nodded, "Yeah, yeah, just go on- I'll have to catch up."

She watched as Brigdet, Bellamy, and Hannah walked out of their dormitory and in a frenzy Rose put on her robes and grabbed her textbook of the counter. Mad-Eye Moody would not be happy with Rose this morning.

As was expected, Mad-Eye glared at her when she entered the classroom- but Rose had arrived 5 minutes prior to the exam starting which had somehow spared her a lecture on the importance of learning Wizarding skills and staying safe. She sighed as she sat next to Bridget in the back.

"We were bloody worried for you," Bridget muttered under her breath as Mad-Eye began to float out the exams to all the students.

"Made it," Rose said in a whispered voice as she avoided making eye contact with Fred and George who were sitting beside her and Bridget. This exam session was a collective one meaning that everyone in their year was taking it at the same time and the students were split between two rooms.

Rose breathed in when she saw the OWL questions. She felt like she didn't know anything on the exam- like it had all flown out of her mind. She really should have studied harder for this exam.

'Alright,'- Rose thought to herself, 'I'm just going to try and think through this logically.'

The first question was rather complicated and included a picture of a creature that needed identifying. None of the names sounded familiar on that one so she skipped over it.

She sighed in relief at the next question: how many unforgivable curses were there?

Well, that one was easy after that traumatic demonstration Mad-Eye Moody had conducted in class making Rose relive her parents' murder, how could she forget the answer to that one?

3 she wrote down.

Alright, next question.

What spell casts away a dementor?

Again, Rose sighed in relief. Had it not been for Professor Lupin's support last year she may not have remembered the answer but she circled in the answer.

And, so on, and so forth Rose continued in this same manner for about an hour until the exam session ended.

Rose was lost in thought when Professor Moody rang a bell indicating their time was up. Rose blinked and sat up straight in her seat while putting her pencil down.

She wasn't sure how she did- but she was relieved she hadn't been late, and that it was over.

She turned over her exam as did the other students and the room was utterly silent. Speaking before the session was declared officially over could lose your House 50 points. Nobody wanted to be that student.

Finally, Professor Moody cleared his throat when he received all of the exams again, "The exam session is officially over, you may speak. But, there are some announcements we have to go over before you leave the classroom."

Professor Moody scanned the room for any questions and when there were none proceeded to detail the announcements.

"Your next OWL, and your first Potions exam will be in two weeks so begin preparing for that. And, I believe the first task of the Triwizard Tournament will be next week as a reminder- is that right Mr. Diggory?"

Cedric looked up from his exam and ran his hand through his hair- he was sitting next to Cho near the front of the class.

"Yeah, I believe so." Cedric confirmed. Professor Moody looked over at him and narrowed his eyes.

"You should know for certain, I recommend that you are prepared for that." Professor Moody added on and Cedric pursed his lips but nodded.

"Yes, Professor," Cedric said.

Rose tensed. She hoped Mad-Eye wouldn't bring up anything about Harry during this session- and, thankfully, he didn't. But he did look at Rose out of the corner of his eye, as if indicating to Rose to be aware of when the Triwizard Tournament was coming up and to get her life together.

Rose looked down at the table but she agreed with Mad-Eye silently. She really needed to get her life together. No more showing up to class late, no more not studying, and she had to keep an eye on all of Harry's tournaments and challenges.
