Chapter 16 is finally here! Sorry for the longer wait!

CaptainSteve1: I'm glad you like Maya, personally I am not a fan of OC's, either, but I have to say, they are fun to write.

Because of popular demand, I will be adding some aspects that were not going to be in the original story (not giving any spoilers now, but they are in the reviews!) Thanks for the ideas, everyone!

Big spoilers for season 6 are within this chapter!

After about 3.67 hours of flight by dragon, the group found themselves in Birchwood Forest. It was bitterly cold, but Zane, Andy, and Kai all were unfazed. Lloyd and Maya, however, were frozen to the bone. The two slowly lagged behind as the group trudged through the forest.

"My feet. I can't feel my feet." Sensei Lloyd complained to nobody in particular. Maya, nodded, then ran ahead, catching up with the rest of the group, going further ahead, and sprinting back, obviously trying to warm up.

"Come on, guys!" It's not that cold!" Andy said, turning behind him. " You are all a bunch of wimps."

"Actually, the temperature has decreased about 38% from when Kai, Jay, Cole, and myself came here when we were dealing with the Serpentine. It makes sense how they are cold. But, the area around Kai is about 3% warmer than the area around it, so it makes logical sense that you walk near him."

Before Kai could object, Maya was right at his side, soon Sensei Lloyd on the other.

" Master Zane, it's not very warm." Maya said, with Lloyd agreeing with her.

"He said it's only 3 percent warmer, that's not a lot. So, get away from me!" Kai responded, playfully pushing the two frozen ninja away. Before Maya could push back, the group came to a large tree, one with a titanium door in front of it.

"This is it." Zane said, soon walking forward to go through the security measures needed to open it.

"Wait, Is this your father's tree? You know, the one you were built in?" Kai asked.

" Yes, it is. After the ninja team retired, I decided to begin to gather items that may be essential in the future. I first thought of storing it under Borg Tower, but after hearing that Nadakhan broke into it easily, I decided against it. Birchwood forest is a lot safer to store precious weapons, teas, and artifacts. No one has ever broken into it, no one ever will."

"Who's Nadakhan?" Kai asked. Everyone's eyes drew to the ninja, all except Zane, who did not think about the strange comment.

"You know, the evil djinn that captured all of the team in his blade, married and killed Nya, tortured Jay? That's him. I guess you got so caught up in calling him Orange Feather Duster that you must've forgotten."

"What?" Kai said in a small voice. No one but Maya heard him. While the team made their way down to the main floor of the tree-base, Maya stopped Kai. She could tell he was shaking, and was as white as a ghost. Nya, from the base, was not giving Kai any words of explanation, which did not help Kai at all.

"What happened? How did Nya die? What's going on?!"

" It...it was an alternate timeline, one where Nadaknan provided everyone with three wishes, but twisted them to help him. And, once someone 'wished it all away', he would capture them in his sword. He needed to marry Nya for him to be able to make his own wishes. He captured, and tortured, Jay, pushing Jay to wish it all away. He never did. Eventually, Jay was the only one who could free everyone, and he did. But, when they tried to stop Nadakhan, because Nya was now married to him, she was killed. But, Jay used his last wish to erase that timeline."

Kai looked at her with wide eyes. Maya realized she had given so much information in so little time, probably talking really fast. Boy, she really needed to slow down.

"At least, that's the short version. Eventually Nya and Jay explain it a lot better, and slower."

"Uhh...thanks?"

"No problem!" Maya responded, running down to meet the others, Kai running after her, trying not to be bothered by the quick information he had gotten. They found the team searching through a bunch of boxes, each labeled teas.

"Oh, really?" There's a tea to become famous? So, after all of these years I did not have to face villain after villain to become popular? Thanks, Zane, for hiding this from me." Sensei Lloyd said, pushing said tea to the side.

"After all of these years, you still care about your popularity too much. Grow up, Green Ninja." Kai said, sitting beside Andy, who was looking through a box bigger than his own nindroid body.

"And, here it is." Maya said, picking up a small container labeled ' Tomorrow's'

"Well, then, I think our work here is done. Shall we go to the surface?" Zane said, gesturing up.

" Please."

Once the group was out of the base, they began walking back to an open area, where they could summon their dragons and head back, Zane to Borg Tower and the ninja back to the Bounty. Sensei Lloyd had the task of carrying the tea, as he was one of the least likely to lose it. Andy, though, was not very happy with the decision.

" Can I please carry it? I'll be super careful!"

"No, Andy, but it is best your sensei has possession of it, as he is older and more responsible than you." Zane responded.

Andy was about to object, until he ran right into Maya, who had suddenly stopped. She quivered a bit, but other than that was as still as a statue.

" Umm...can you google how to not get killed by a wolf? Like, right now?" Maya said, her voice filled with panic.

Kai stepped forward, and saw a medium-sized wolf facing them, it's teeth bared. It had a strong build with green streaks in its fur. It growled.

"Easy there, we don't want anyone getting hurt." Kai said, getting his sword. He didn't want to hurt the poor thing, but if it hurt Maya, or any of the others, the sword would be used. The wolf stepped forward, toward the terrified Hydro-Electric Ninja. Maya screamed and jumped back.

" Hey! Go for me, not her!" Kai yelled, waving his sword at it. The wolf did not listen. It looked at Kai, then Maya, then Kai again, but pounced in Maya's direction, the growling becoming barking. Maya couldn't take it any longer. She backed up and ran. But, before anyone could warn her, she tripped over a huge rock, tumbling down a hill, soon coming to a rest in a running stream.

"Maya! Are you ok?" Andy asked without turning to her, his eyes fixated on the wolf. But, it was not growing anymore. It looked like it was smiling. Finally Lloyd, who had been awfully quiet, sighed.

" Very funny, Montgomery. Times up. Change back and go apologize to Maya."

The wolf whimpered, and soon began glowing dimly. As the team watched, it slowly turned for a wolf to a teen, wearing a familiar green ninja gi and award-winning grin.

" Wait, Mo?! You can turn into a wolf? Awesome!" Andy said, running over to his friend. Mo, smiling, walked over to where Maya had fallen, and began laughing.

"Fooled you!"

" Not funny, Mo!" She screamed, climbing up the hill soaking wet, the snow and ice covering her head to toe. When Maya reached the top, she began yelling at her team leader, making gestures and punching him at some points. The group tried to understand what she was saying but could not, she was talking way too fast. Without Jay to interpret, they could only guess what she was saying. Mo just stood there, a confident grin on his face.

" You really did not tell the team that Mo had also inherited Akita's abilities?" Zane asked, watching the spectacle with interest. Lloyd shook his head.

" Na, I knew he was going to pull a prank eventually, and you know me: I don't shy away from pranks."

So ends chapter 16!

Out of curiosity...which seasons of Ninjago are your favourites? Mine are Season 12 ( Prime Empire) and Season 6 (Skybound).

Thanks to LostKeyboard, CaptainSteve1, and Guest for the Akita idea, it incorporated really well into the story!

Stay tuned and review!
