I am back with another update! I actually debated whether I should post this or not and just wait until chapter 17 is ready, but it has been a few days since I've last updated so it was only fair I posted the latest chapter, so no one would be anxiously waiting to see what's next.
I've actually been recently keeping myself entertained by playing Animal Crossing and the otome game Code: Realize. I just finished one of the routes so I am emotionally drained and I'm going to start another route soon, so yeah that's been how I've been spending my quarantine so far.
Like always I do not owe any of the characters of Diabolik Lovers but my own!

Ayato stares at the Mukami mansion and felt more calmer this time around. When he first visited the mansion to take Yui back, he was filled with so much hatred that he debated whether he should set the house on fire or not. He decided against us just in case he couldn't get Yui back in time.
He takes a deep breath and walks inside, smelling Yui nearby. He passes by the other brothers who just give him odd looks.
"Hey you! Tomato head!" Yuma calls him out but Ayato ignores him and goes straight to Ruki's room.
Yui was bringing in a glass of water for Ruki and was happy to see he was more relaxed and was moving now. Ruki just looked out the window and she sets down the glass of water on his coffee table.
"How you feeling?" She asks him.
"Better then before." He says and she smiles, "I'm glad."
Ruki turns to her and frowns. "Get out."
Yui was confused until she smells Ayato and sees him by the doorway, gasping when she sees the state he was in. "Ayato-Kun, what happened to you?" She goes up to him, looking at his wounds on his chest. Although his weren't as bad as Ruki, Ayato was still bleeding and needed to be treated to prevent infections.
"An attack at the house," he says and pulls her to him. "We need to leave and go somewhere far away."
Ruki frowns. "An attack, huh? Let me guess, a pack of six werewolves all glowing red and yellow eyes?"
Ayato nods. "Yeah...how do you know?"
Ruki shows Ayato his bandages on his stomach. "We were attacked by them a day ago as well." He glances at Yui.
"We were attacked just a few hours ago. Left the room destroyed and everything, but we took them out. Only a few escaped. Reiji told me that this is the Founders doing. Whatever they are after, it's clear that they haven't found it if they allowed us to live."
Ruki glances at Yui. "They want her then."
"Yeah, I plan on taking her back with me and we're leaving now." Ayato holds Yui's wrist and walk out the door.
"Do you really think that's a good idea?" Ruki asks, causing Ayato to stop walking out with Yui.
Ayato looks over his shoulder. "She'll be safer with me then with any of you guys here."
"Ayato, look out the window."
"Why would I-"
"Listen to him, Ayato." Says Yui, looking at him. "Please?"
Ayato frowns and lets go of Yui, walking over to the window and sees the lunar eclipse nearly completing.
"Pure bloods aren't nearly as strong as they are usually during the eclipse. Although half bloods are affected as will, it's pure bloods we have no chance against the werewolves. If it's Yui that the Founders want then you will be a useless protector."
"Hey! I can be Yui's protector no matter what. And I don't need you-"
"Hit me."
"What?" Ayato looks at him surprised.
"Hit me." Ruki repeats, not stuttering his words.
Ayato steps up and lifts up his fist. Before Yui can stop Ayato from punching Ruki, Ruki had grabbed Ayato's wrist and twists his arm, holding it behind his back and putting him down on the ground.
"The hell!?" Ayato groans and tries to break off of Ruki's hold but fails.
After struggling for a minute or two, Ruki let's him go and helps him stand. "See what I mean? Under normal circumstances I'm sure you would've been able to block my attack. But look at you, you're weak Ayato. You can't protect Yui the way you want to."
Ayato clenches his fists, hating how correct Ruki was being. He looks at Yui, her lips quivering in fear and he can hear her half dead heart beating faster then usual.
Yui gets between both vampires, looking down. "If it's me that they want, then why don't I leave? The last thing I want is for anyone to get hurt because of me."
Ayato shakes his head in disagreement. "If you leave, they will catch you and take you away. That's not something I can risk."
Ruki nods. "I agree with him too." Ayato looks at him in surprise. "If the Founders were to get you, it can be the end of you. Especially if they are after your blood."
Yui sighs. "But...I don't want you guys to get hurt again..."
"Yui," Ayato lifts up her head so they can look at one another eye to eye. "I've been looking for you for so long that the idea of you being away from me, it's unbearable. But because of my selfish needs, doesn't mean I should foolishly allow you to come home with me."
"Ayato-Kun..." Yui whispers.
"Let Yui decide what she wants." Says Ruki and the two vampires looked a her.
Yui didn't like their idea at all. She knew it would just result in both Ruki and Ayato's family to only be tangled in this crazy web known as her life. She couldn't live with the burden of knowing that she was the reason they can get hurt.
Although, as much as she didn't want to admit it, Ayato wasn't strong enough to protect her due to the eclipse. And he knows that as well.
She hugs Ayato, "I'll come home as soon as this is over." She promises.
Ayato was disappointed in her decision, but wasn't surprised. All Yui ever wanted security and he couldn't give that to her no matter how much he wanted to.
He hugs her back, "You better. Or I'll finish what those wolves started here." He promises as well, glaring at Ruki.
Ruki just grinned at him. "She'll be in good hands." He assures Ayato.
"She better be." He says and turns Yui Around so she can face Ruki. "But just because she will be staying here with you until the eclipse ends, doesn't mean she is yours to keep." He says and pulls Yui's sleeve off her shoulder, sinking his teeth in his favorite spot of her delicate body.
Ruki just watches as Yui's blood is getting sucked by Ayato. "Possessive brat," He mumbles to himself.
He can take as much blood as he wants from Yui, but at the end it would be Ruki who will win her over.
Even if it costs him, his life.
Once Ayato finishes drinking from Yui, he licks the two punctured holes on her to stop the bleeding.
"Walk me out?" He asks and she nods, following him out the door.
Ruki watches through the window as Ayato kisses Yui one last time before leaving their manor and going back to the forest.
Yui sighs, making sure Ayato was out of her sight until she goes back inside and joins the Mukami brothers in the living room.
Kou was the first to notice her entering the living room. "M Neko-Chan, you're still here?" He asks surprisingly.
"Seriously, I thought that tomato head would've taken you by now." Says Yuma.
Yui shakes her head. "No, I'm staying. Until the eclipses passes at least."
Azusa gets up and hugs Yui. The blonde girl returning the same affection.
Kou claps his hands together. "Well! I say the first order of business is we get the other living room cleaned up. The smell of dried blood is disgusting."
"And I can make you boys dinner later too." Yui says.
"No need." Ruki comes in the room. "I can do that. You just help them and make sure they don't destroy the living room even more."
"Glad to see you doing fine, Ruki." Says Yuma, smiling.
Ruki nods. "Yes. We still have a lot to discuss but for now let's just get this place cleaned up."
The guys and Yui go to the living room where the attack happened and start cleaning it up.
Kou offered to play some music but Yuma was against as it he didn't want to listen to J-Pop. Instead it was Yui who took out her phone and just played a random playlist that Sakura had made for her awhile ago.
Yui looks at the brothers as they ease the tension in the air by throwing towels at one another or cracking jokes. Yui even giggled herself.
Although she felt awful for picking the Mukami's over the Sakamaki's, it wasn't forever.
She would come back to them when it was safe.
The lunar eclipse lasted a whole week, resulting in the world to live in total darkness for five days straight during the night. The event was a huge phenomenon and it was on the news everywhere.
For humans, it was merely just a new historical event. But for vampires, it was a major inconvenience.
The werewolves didn't come back to both the Sakamaki or the Mukami household. Which was a relief for everyone involved. Now that it was safer for Yui to go back to the other house, the Mukami siblings went ahead and escorted her home.
At first, it was just going to be Ruki taking her home. But after receiving a call from Reiji, who asked to meet and discuss the matter, Ruki decided that everyone should go. Considering they were all involved.
Kou suggested taking the car, but Yuma wanted to take a walk with everyone. No one objected and now they were walking in the cold night.
Yui walks next to Ruki, glancing at him every now and then. He kept his eyes straight on the path they were taking. Only looking away if he heard something in the distance but just kept walking.
Ruki felt her soft pink eyes on him and looks over the young vampire. He chuckles to himself when he sees her quickly looking away, the blush on her cheeks more visible now.
"Don't be shy, Livestock." He says. "I know what you're thinking of."
Yui looks at him. "You do?"
He nods and holds her wrist to pull her back a little from the other three vampires. Yuma and Kou were to busy bickering over what to make for dinner later and Azusa was fidgeting with his bandages, so none of them bothered to pay them any attention.
"I do. You're thinking about our kiss, aren't you?"
Yui felt her face turning red despite of the cold air that kissed her skin. "Yes..."
Ruki smiles softly. "No need to be shy. I think about it as well, you know?" He admits.
"I just...why did you kiss me, Ruki?"
Ruki pauses for a moment. "If I'm being honest, I myself am not to sure either. I believe it was a heat of the moment." He lowers himself to whisper in her ear. "But I am open to doing it again."
Yui steps away, crossing her eyes against her chest. "Ruki, you know I am with Ayato." She reminds him.
"You're not really officially together though, correct?"
"I-" Yui stops herself. Although she knew that she had feelings for Ayato, it was true that they never talked about what happened when she was gone or when she drank his blood.
Drinking the blood of another vampire is considered an act of intimacy in their world. From what she knows, based on what Amaya and Sakura have told her, is that drinking the blood of your lover is usually done while having sexual intercourse. It's done as a way to make their bond more stronger. Ayato has tasted Yui's blood plenty of times, while Yui only got to have his blood a few days ago.
"Yui?"
Yui gets back to reality. "Sorry...yes I know we are not together at the moment but I'm sure once we figure things out between us, we will be on the right track."
"Mmm...if that's how you feel then so be it. But know that I will do whatever it takes to properly capture your heart. I want you as my Eve and I hope you consider me as a potential Adam."
Yui didn't know know what to say. Ruki took it as an end to their conversation and they catch up to the others.
After another twenty minutes of walking, they finally see the large gates that surrounded the Sakamaki mansion.
"We're here."
Sakura smelled Yui outside and she quickly went to the living room, that has now been remodeled, to wait for her best friend. Slowly, the others filled the room and Reiji instructed the butler to allow their guests to come to the living room.
Sakura can see how anxious Ayato was in seeing Yui and she sees him sigh in relief when she comes in. Still intact and no bite marks on her skin.
"Welcome," says Reiji. "Feel free to sit if you please."
"Thank you," says Ruki. Yuma and Azusa stay together on a couch, while Kou happily hugs Subaru.
"I've missed you!" He says and Subaru pushes him off.
"Don't touch me, you son of a-"
"Subaru." Reiji gives Subaru a look and he stops himself from finishing his sentence.
"Kou, calm yourself." Says Ruki and Kou sits next to his brothers.
Upon seeing Azusa, Kanato wanted to go and rip his head off for what he did to Teddy. But Laito holds his brother back and keeps an eye on him.
Ruki sits in an arm chair and Sakura gestures for Yui to stand by her.
Reiji adjusts his glasses, "You're probably wondering why I asked for you here."
Ruki nods, "I assume it has to do with the unfortunate events that happened in both our households?"
"Yes. Both of our homes were attacked by wolves. I know for a fact this was the doing of the Founders and because they didn't get what they wanted," Reiji glances at Yui who gulps. "Then I know they will be back."
"So what do you suggest we do, Reiji?" Ruki asks, looking over at his brothers and Yui. "I don't know about you, but my brothers safety is my top priority. Same goes to our Eve."
Ayato frowns at how Ruki addresses Yui as their Eve, but doesn't comment on it.
"I suggest we make a truce," says Reiji. His brothers and Ruki's brothers quickly disagreeing but Reiji ignores them. "The truce which is that we put our differences aside for the sake of one another's family, until we know that the Founders are gone and Miss Komori is safe."
Ruki thinks about it for a moment. "Alright. But I will only agree to this truce if you allow us to continue having interactions with Yui and Sakura. In and outside of school."
Ayato was the first to protest. "Now wait just a damn minute-"
"Deal." Reiji makes his way towards Ruki, who stood up. "Subaru, the knife."
Subaru nods and takes out his knife, handing it to his older brother. Reiji takes the knife and slides the blade across the palm of his left hand, handing it over to Ruki. He repeats the same steps as Reiji but on he right palm. Subaru takes back the knife as the two vampires shake on it. Their blood spilling on the floor.
"This is an blood oath," says Reiji. "If it's to be broken, then the deal is off and we each can do as we please. Even if that means murder."
Ruki grinned. "Sounds good to me." He says and lets go of Reiji's hand. A butler comes in and hands them both a towel to clean off the cuts on their palms, which have quickly healed.
"We should be on our way then." Ruki's brothers have gotten up and stand by their brother. "Thank you for having us over. Maybe one day we can have another friendly dinner."
Reiji smiles but it didn't reach his eyes. "I wouldn't dream of it."
Ruki chuckles and leaves with his brothers.
"See you later, M Neko-Chan!" Kou yells out and the Mukami brothers disappear.
"The hell was that all about?" Ayato yells. "They can still take away Yui if they wanted to!"
Reiji shakes his head. "They wouldn't dare." He says, throwing the towel away once his palm was clean.
"What makes you think that?" Kanato asks. "They killed Teddy!"
"Because they know that if they break this blood oath, then it will be all over for them." Says Reiji assuringly. "If they were to ever break this oath, then so do our ties with them. And I'm sure the last thing that they want after them is a family of pure bloods."
Sakura gasps, "You mean we can..."
Reiji nods. "If the Mukami's were to ever break this oath, then we have nothing to hold us back." He says and walks over to the staircase. "Meaning we can kill them if we wanted to."
Two figures stand on the cliff, watching as four vampires leave the mansion to go back to their own manor.
"We should've killed them when we had the chance," a young man with strawberry blond hair and wearing an eyepatch over his left eye spoke to the person standing next to him.
His older brother sighs, shaking his head. "I told you. Good things come to those who wait. They know we are watching and they shall now be on the tip of their toes."
"Well shouldn't we do something then? I'm sick of waiting, Carla! This has been centuries in the making, we need to act now!"
Carla was amused by his younger brother's need for revenge, but knew the timing wasn't right just yet. "Soon, Shin." He promises him, his eyes glowing yellow and a werewolf appears beside him. "Soon."
If you watched the anime or played the games, then you know exactly who is coming and I am so excited! I won't go into much details as I am saving that for story 3, but let's just say they are very important people who will soon be known to the Sakamaki and Mukami families.
Also half of this chapter was created based on my own imagination, only the first half with Ayato, Ruki, and Yui being the only part in the anime as well as Yui staying with the Mukami. Everything else after I made up. I don't know why I felt the need to disclaim that, but hey it's all good.
My smallest apologies for this chapter being short, it was more of a filler but also a smaller essential in what is to come in the far future.
Next chapter is half written and you will be all very pleased with the outcome and remember! We only got 14 more chapters to go!
