Chapter 24: The Last Stand
Angela was unarmed, slightly dazed and beaten. She didnt know how much time had past since she passed out but right now she was in danger cause right above her handing from the cieling was Rachel. The mutated agent had finally found her foe once again and she let go of the ceiling and crashed to the ground.
With no weapon in hand Angela had no chance, the only thing she could do was run so wasting no time she turned and ran to the steps back up to the upper level where she fought Jessica who was now gone and she ran up them as hard as she could. As soon as she got to the upper level the whole ship shook and knocked Angela off her feet sending her crashing to the ground.
The alarms on the ship continued to echo but Angela quickly got back to her feet and ran across the upper level just hoping to find an exit, as she ran across the platform Rachel then suddenly jumped up to the platform Angela was on and she landed with a massive thud making the metal floor shake.
Stopping in her tracks Angela's eyes widened seeing Rachel in front of her and before she could react the mutated agent stretched her tentacle arm out and gripped Angela by the throat and yanked her towards her.
Angela came face to face with Rachel and the creature tilted its head looking at Angela and she let out a little chuckle. "My...prey".
Rachel then suddenly opened her mouth to attack but the ship shook again and knocked both Angela and Rachel off balance and sent them to the ground again. All of a sudden sea water started to burst through the hull of the ship and the sounds of explosions could be heard from above.
Angela quickly staggered to her feet as the ship continued to shake and to her horror she knew this ship was going down and she would be dragged down with it. With what ever strength she had left she jumped over Rachel and ran as fast as she could down the pathway and thats when she suddenly spotted her handgun right there on the floor.
She continued to run and she picked up her handgun then quickly turned opening fire on Rachel as she got back to her feet, the creature screamed from the shots and charged at Angela, the new BSAA agent then quickly aimed at Rachel's knees and opened fire making the creature crash to the ground once more.
Angela knew her one weapon wouldn't keep Rachel down she needed to think of something else. Looking at her surroundings she looked for anything that could be used and suddenly she spotted a crane with a large metal beam hanging under it, she then suddenly looked to the control room at the end of the hanger behind her.
With no other option Angela turned and ran to the control room as fast as she could and Rachel got back to her feet and staggered towards her target. Angela finally managed to make it to the control room and slammed the door behind her.
Wasting no time she rushed to the main controls and began to work away knowing she only had seconds remaining, pressing and pulling levers Angela finally got the crane moving and turning it towards the control room.
The door leading into the control room suddenly exploded open with Rachel screaming at the of her lungs, Angela quickly turned and opened fire at her enemy as she staggered forward and suddenly Rachel charged at Angela slashing at her but the BSAA agent rolled out of the way just in time as Rachel's claws hit the controls and suddenly the crane swung hard sending the hanging support beam crashing right through the control room hitting Rachel hard sending her crashing into the back of the control room.
The entire control room became an absolute wreck and the metal beam was slowly pulling out of the control room and back out into the open, with her exit blocked Angela had no choice but to run and jump for the massive metal beam as the crane pulled it out. She screamed as she jumped for the beam and she managed to grab hold it and she was hanging right over a massive drop.
Using all her strength she pulled herself up on to the beam and balanced herself on to the beam as she slowly walked to the middle of it and to the chain that was holding it up to the crane, all of a sudden Rachel roared as she jumped out of the destroyed control room and on to the beam.
Her left arm was gone and her torso was just crushed but she was determined to kill Angela, crashing on to the beam it began to swing around with Angela gripping on to the chain tight as she could as it spun. Rachel clawed her way across the beam screaming after her foe.
Angela quickly turned and opened fire at Rachel but it didnt stop her coming forward, the creature soon got to her feet and jumped for Angela only for her to take a chance and jump off the beam and down to the ground floor.
As she jumped down the creatures claws got caught in the massive chain and tried yank her hand away, Angela hit the ground and rolled to her feet and aimed up to see Rachel stuck in the chain. She quickly looked to the exit out of the hanger and just ran for her life as the ship buckled again as more sea water poured in but soon she made it through the door.
Angela ran for her life just trying to get away but she suddenly fell to the ground feeling the infection starting to fight against her again, gritting her teeth she got back up and kept moving back towards the bridge, thats when she heard a scream of rage behind her.
After a few minutes Angela finally busted through the door and back into the bridge, alarms continued to echo as the ship continued to sink, with no option she towards the elevator and quickly hit the button taking her back to the guest rooms which would leaded back out in to the main hall. She needed to get back out before the ship took her down.
"Jill? Chris? Parker do you read?" Angela placed her finger on her earpiece but there was nothing but static. "Does anyone read me? I repeat does anyone read me?" Yet again there was no response.
Cussing at herself she readied her weapon as the elevator door finally opened into another hallway and thats when she spotted a six round grenade launcher placed on a desk in the hall.
Frowning in confusion knowing that wasnt there before she rushed to it and right next to it was a note.
"Put it to good use. - Raymond"
Angela sighed and picked up the grenade launcher and took the boxes of rounds placing them in her hip pouch, with a new weapon in hand she turned to see more Ooze coming around the corner and rushing to her.
"I owe you one Raymond" Angela stated and then shot a grenade right down the hallway causing a massive explostion killing every Ooze in the way, quickly rushing down the hall Angela moved as fast as she could until she finally made it into the fancy dining hall. More Ooze appeared coming to her from both sides so she quickly jumped over the railings and landed on to a dining tabel.
She suddenly turned aiming up and shot another greneade completley destroying the upper level and blew up the Ooze, wasting no time she rushed to the ship wheel doors and busted through them and right back into the main golden hall. She rushed and came to a slow stop into the middle of the hall.
All she could hear was the ship buckling under pressure and she knew she didnt have long, as she looked around the area to see her options she suddenly heard monstrous screams coming from the upper level, it was then at that moment Rachel came crashing down from the second floor and right on to the ground floor.
"CANT YOU JUST FUCK OFF!" Angela said in anger fed up with this creatures fascination with her, all of a sudden Rachel's body began to shake and confused Angela.
It was at that very moment a new arm busted out of Rachel's body and it formed into some kind of blade, tentacles then busted out of her back which were bigger than her own body. Angela just lowered her grenade launcher as she witnessed Rachel going through a whole new transformation.
Rachel's body mass soon grew larger and thats when her head exploded with a new head forming, she had a mouth full of razer sharp teeth and had a massive eye form inside of it and it just let off a hair raising roar over its new transformation, soon the newly transformed Rachel looked right at Angela using its back tentacles to raise itself off the ground ready to attack.
"Jesus Christ..." Angela could only whisper as she raised her grenade launcher, Rachel then jumped right at her foe swinging her new blade arm at her but Angela managed to dodge out of the way and fire a grenade right at the side of Rachel. The shot sent Rachel flying as she screamed in agony but she quickly got up and used her tentacles to climb back up to the upper level.
Angela wasted no time and shot more grenades at Rachel as she quickly moved all over the place, most of them missed and thats when Rachel jumped off the walls spinning with her blade and she went right for Angel. The infection within the BSAA agent suddenly reacted and Angela quickly back flipped out of the way of the attack and Rachel's blade wedged right into the ground.
Landing back on her feet Angela then shot the last of the grenades right at Rachel as she was stuck in the ground. Rachel was hit with explosions after explosions and all that could be heard was her out screams of pain.
After a few moments Rachel managed to get free and dash away using her tentacles, rushing around the hall she grabbed debris and launched it at Angela only for the agent to roll out of the way of every attack, even though the infection within her was killing her at least it was giving her the chance to fight Rachel. The infection was alerting her to danger and it was a great advantage while it lasted.
All of a sudden a bit of debris went right at Angela and she dived out of the way hitting the ground hard, at that point Rachel dived right at Angela again but the agent rolled to her back with her grenade launcher and fired another shot right into Rachel's torso sending her to the ground.
Quickly getting up Angela reloaded the grenade launcher as quick as she could, Rachel got back up and rushed her foe once more only to get hit with another grenade, this time it blew Rachel's chest wide open.
Now in full determination Angela stepped forward shooting another round at Rachel making the creature stagger back from the hit, Angela stepped forward again shooting another round and Rachel raised her blade arm to block it but the round went past the blade and hit her shoulder which resulted in her arm getting blown off.
"Fucking die!" Angela shouted as she shot one more grenade and this time Rachel fell to her knees. Angela then screamed unleashing every round she had into Rachel until the six rounds were spent.
Rachel's entire body was now full of holes and ooze was pouring out of her, she was in a weakened state and just shook from the injuries she sustained. Taking a deep breath Angela took a few steps forward and loaded one more shot into her grenade launcher as the mutated Rachel looked up to her with her massive eye.
Ever so slowly Angela raised the grenade launcher one more time. "Do me a favor and stay dead...".
Rachel screamed one more time in defiance and Angela shot a grenade right into Rachel's mouth and the creatures head exploded removing its head from its shoulders, the mutated Rachel's body then fell to the ground.
Angela slowly stood back cautiously making sure Rachel was dead and after a few moments Rachel's body started to dissolve into a pool of Ooze, it was at that moment Angela realized Rachel was now dead.
Sighing in relief Angela lowered her grenade launcher and just looked at the pile of Ooze for a few more seconds then slowly turned away, it was time to get off the ship.
Angela took a few steps forward and all of a sudden she clutched her stomach and threw up blood, dropping her grenade launcher she grunted in pain as she fell to her knees as she could feel her entire body burning up, the infection was taking over.
Her skin had turned pale and black veins appeared all over her skin, this was a more vicious attack than the others and deep down Angela felt this was the end. Her body suddenly seized up and she fell to her side, blood poured out of her mouth as she struggled to breath with her body just shaking.
Angela's body went cold and her vision was blurring, she no longer had the strength to fight on. Soon her world went silent no longer able to hear anything and soon her world went dark.
She lost the battle against the infection and now her life was over, she failed Jill, Chris and Parker and more importantly she failed Leon. She shed a tear as she past out knowing she will die here alone. Her life was wasted and now she would become the thing she was fighting.
She accepted her death and she passed out.
"Angela fought to the end against all odds and now she finally beaten Rachel who was after her all this time, but the infection has now consumed her. What is going to happen next? we will find out soon!
