Drake silently practiced his fighting moves in the rink above the base as he skated gracefully from one end to the other. From the stands, Derek, Rosie and their kids observed in awe.
"I don't believe it, it's Drake DuCaine himself!", Benny said getting worked up, "The legend himself!"
Drake paused and skate over as the family came down to the ice. Danielle came out as well alongside Clyde, Adam, Julia, BRAWN and Foxy.
"Sorry if we're disturbing you.", Danielle said apologetically.
"Nah, don't worry about it.", Drake said giving a smile, "I was done anyway."
Benny couldn't contain his excitement.
"Man wait til the kids back home hear about how me and my family met the legend himself."
Derek frowned.
"Whoa there Benny, don't overwhelm the poor guy."
Drake chuckled.
"I must be quite the celebrity back on Puckworld."
"You have no idea.", Julia said, "Too bad Wildwing had to take the team out before we got here to say hi."
"That's okay.", Drake said, "I could use a team to whip into shape if I'm letting Wildwing lead and trouble rears it's ugly head."
Timmy had gotten his nerve and found his voice.
"So Drake, how come you're not leading? Wouldn't that be more fitting for you?"
Drake's smile didn't fade.
"Every team captain needs to know when they have to pass on what they know."
Timmy and Benny looked confused.
"That doesn't make sense."
Drake turned to Adam and Adam tensed. Derek overreacted when he found out about his saurian wings and healing factor and he was thinking Drake would be the same.
"What's his story?", Drake asked.
"This is Adam.", Julia said, "He's Lucretia's brother and a former scientist. He got infused with saurian DNA which explains the wings and his healing factor."
Drake looked impressed.
"Why didn't my time think of that?"
Adam looked less scared.
"You don't mind?"
"Hey never judge someone by their appearances.", Drake said wisely, "Teams come in all shapes and sizes."
Snowdrop looked confused. The way they learned about Drake in school was that he was the ultimate team captain, but by the way he acted, he seemed like everyone else.

Thrash and Mookie came out of the lockers to find Drake on the ice with Danielle, Julia, Clyde, Adam and Derek on the ice playing while BRAWN and Foxy helped Rosie watch the kids.
"Did we miss practice?", Thrash asked, "It would be nice to see the legend in action."
The practice paused as Drake noticed them.
"No we're just getting a new team together."
"New team?", Mookie asked.
"Well if Wildwing is going to lead a team, I guess I could whip this one into shape as team leader.", Drake explained, "They got skills and I'm impressed. A few more weeks with me and they could play hockey with their eyes shut."
The team dispersed and Adam was huffing.
"That...was..extreme."
"Yeah.", Clyde agreed, "Drake knows his stuff."
Drake smiled as BRAWN helped the team off the ice.
"Bounty hunter robots, mutated ducks, and in a dimension where nothing is predictable? I'm one lucky duck to have seen all this."
"Drake, could you give us some pointers?", Benny asked clearly not losing any of his eagerness.
"Benny!", Snowdrop said firmly, "Drake just put the team through a workout and is probably worn out himself."
Drake chuckled.
"It's fine Snowdrop. Get some skates on and you kids can show me what you got."
Derek felt a bit surprised. He thought Drake would be miffed that they allowed saurian blood into their ranks, but since Drake was willing to let go and accept Adam, he could do so as well. Helping his kids put their skates on, they skated on to the ice with Rosie and Danielle following. Foxy came also and was skating easily by the time the sound of the Aerowing arriving was heard.
"Well, looks like the alpha team is back again.", Julia said.
"Must've been a short ride.", Drake said sounding a bit disappointed.
As Wildwing and the other ducks arrived, they paused to see the ducks from Puckworld there.
"Hey guys, when did you get here?", Nosedive asked.
"A while ago.", Adam answered, "Derek's kids wouldn't stop begging us to visit so Doc powered up the portal and we came to here. Drake's training us while you're gone though."
Wildwing looked impressed.
"Well it never hurts to have a team waiting in the wings in case of an emergency rescue or reinforcements."
Drake smiled.
"Couldn't have said it better myself. Keep that leading qualities up and you could be as legendary as I am."

Jerai led the group back to the kingdom of Kovra and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but Jerai's expression darkened.
"Something wrong?", Harzep asked.
"She's here.", Jerai said using a gravely voice, "But she's not one to appear in the open. We need to flush out her followers and rid the plague from the kingdom's boarders and without anyone getting suspicious."
Draco looked confused.
"Why not?"
Jerai looked his way with a raised eyebrow.
"You want to start a panic?", she asked, "Merzai would be expecting that so that she can move her plan along much faster."
Gerazi looked thoughtful.
"If Merzai is here, won't she not want to draw attention?"
Jerai nodded.
"Her power usually deprives from the fungus she spreads, but she's not wanting it out in the open until she's sure to get a good amount of it to get the kingdom under her sway. Expect some kind of disguise when going back in."
Darcel gripped his blade and sniffed the air.
"What's up?", Harzep asked him.
"There's a disturbance near the sandbank.", Darcel said, "I'll check that out."
"Draco and I will check the market.", Gerazi said.
Jerai nodded.
"Meet up at the castle gates.", she said, "I'm checking the grounds on the west side."
Harzep sighed.
"That leaves me with the commons.", he said shrugging, "Anything we should be looking for?"
"Keep your eyes open for anything strange.", Jerai said, "That's a sign that Merzai's wards are nearby."
She hurried off with the others going theirs.
"Gerazi, are you sure this is wise?", Draco asked looking worried, "If Merzai is as dangerous as Jerai says she is, I'll be unprepared for such an encounter."
"All the more reason for you to be protected.", Gerazi said, "May the Twilight Twins guide us through our enemy's deception."

Charyus came into Zeral's chamber to check in on his progress. The moment he entered, a chill ran through his bones. Something was in here, and it wanted attention.
"So, still waiting?"
Charyus froze. That wasn't Malevolence or anyone he heard before. He gripped his staff and it's glow started brightening the room.
"Who's there?", he sneered, "Show yourself at once."
"Now is that any way to treat a guest?"
Charyus' expression darkened.
"You dare come in here and-"
"Careful wizard!"
A strong gust filled the room and the color faded as an aurora flowed out of nowhere and shifted into a face with tentacles around the mouth attached to a burly body with webbed claws for feet and hands with a huge pair of scaly wings folding. The creature seated itself in thin air as it's pronged tail whipped side to side and it's pale eyes became filled with the color of the aurora while the rest of it's body grew dark and foreboding.
"I might get the idea you don't want my help.", it finished in a tone that sounded sassy and snobbish.
Charyus didn't move, but the guest wasn't looking intimidated.
"Zeral won't wake. His little recovery was placed within a special time loop."
Charyus gripped his staff harder.
"And I'm guessing you're the one who-"
"Put it there?", the guest said cutting him off, "No. But I'm about to offer you a deal you'd be foolish to refuse."
Charyus still gripped his staff, but the words hung in his head.
"I would like to know who it is I'm dealing with."
"No name.", the guest answered, "Just call me chaos color."
"And what do you want with me?", Charyus asked still not biting.
"A rebirth.", the color answered, "Of an old unity that broke once."
Charyus though for a split second.
"You want to reform the Dark Alliance."
The color grinned even though the tentacles on it's face hardly showed it.
"Bingo. You, Lucretia, Malevolence, Cerebellum, and myself. Of course, I could add a few more to the ranks."
Charyus grew interested.
"Like who?"
The color didn't answer, but dispersed into it's aurora form and started to flow out the glass dome that served as a window.
"Patience my scaly friend.", it said slyly, "You and Dragaunus will get what's coming to you."
Charyus buckled. This entity sounded promising, but Malevolence had tried to unite them and the duck's familiar foes once before and that ended badly. He observed Zeral who seemed to be sleeping peacefully, but Charyus knew better.
"Dragaunus isn't going to like what I have to report.", he muttered to himself.

Back at the Pond, Timmy and Benny were in awe as they skated along the ice with Drake nearby. Snowdrop was in awe as well, but she was sure to keep her admiration from interfering with Drake's lesson.
"This is so...cool.", Benny said clearly getting worked up again, "Maybe Drake can give us a few fighting lessons too."
Drake chuckled.
"Hold on there hot stuff. That's lesson number two. You're still working on lesson number one."
"What's lesson number one?", Timmy asked.
Drake's smile didn't flinch.
"Like ice, I'm tough, but I have to know when to melt and be soft before hardening again. Like a wind, I flow all around knowing I can blow away much."
From the sides, the other ducks observed.
"Drake sure can teach.", Nosedive said, "Almost makes his earlier rash decision a memory."
Grin nodded.
"His words of wisdom touch even my inner most being."
Wildwing shrugged.
"I guess."
Canard looked his way a little confused.
"You guess?", he asked, "How come?"
Mallroy could tell Wildwing wasn't feeling like Drake was the role model he thought hie was so she thought she'd step in and help out.
"Hey, Drake may be a legend in our time, but he probably got warped here before he got that status."
Tanya looked thoughtful.
"That could explain his rash decision he made once and his apology that followed."
By then Drake had finished his lesson and the kids skated back with him.
"Thanks for the lesson Drake.", Benny said, "I can't wait til we get to lesson two."
"In time child.", Drake said calmly, "But for now, focus on what I demonstrated here."
Derek's form flickered and the ducks from Puckworld did so before Wildwing and his team noticed.
"What's up with you?", Duke asked.
"Drawback to Quasleet's portal.", Adam answered, "Apparently the area around this place twists the rift so that we can only visit for certain time limits."
Their forms grew more and more static like a television on the fritz, but then the flickering got slower and then stopped entirely. The jumbo tron came on and Quasleet's face appeared with Buzz.
"Sorry.", Quasleet said looking apologetic, "Stability matrix got a bit overheated, but we got it back in a stable condition."
Drake made eye contact with Quasleet and his smile didn't flinch here either.
"Great to see you Doc.", he said, "Any idea on a solution to this whole Dimensional Limbo flux?"
Quasleet looked thoughtful.
"I'm detecting powerful rifts connected to certain domains. If we find these rifts and disperse them, it should bring the fabric of Limbo back into a stable state before Zeral's death machine blew up."
Drake looked confused.
"Death machine?"
"Zeral had this weapon that could destroy and recreate planets.", Thrash explained, "But we thwarted him before he could wipe out Puckworld and Earth."
Drake looked inspired before turning to Wildwing.
"You ready for this?"
Wildwing grew bold.
"When do we start?", he asked.

The chaos color materialized it's aurora form as four large spheres materialized before it. One held Dragaunus and Charyus, another held Lucretia, Cerebellum and Dr. Droid in the third and finally Malevolence and her goons in the fourth.
"So nice of you to answer my invitation.", the color purred as it's material form replaced it's aurora one.
"You better have a reason for this meeting.", Malevolence grouched, "I'm a very busy woman and I haven't got all day."
Lucretia groaned.
"Try experiencing death and rebirth before you start complaining.", she countered, "I have a blade to grind and a relative I want dead."
The color looked pleased. Dragaunus and Charyus turned Cerebellum's way and both parties didn't look amused.
"I trust your little infiltration ended in failure?", Dragaunus guessed.
Cerebellum's face darkened.
"The duck's base have strong defenses that I'm afraid kept my associate and myself from getting in."
The color didn't look threatened. In fact it looked even more pleased.
"I promise you all that you'll get what you want. That is of course after we make a little deal."
Malevolence's dark expression darkened further.
"What kind of deal?", she asked as if she was insulted.
"Simple.", the color answered, "I can provide you each with what I promise, but to do so you must all work with me and not against me."
"Bold words coming from a being with no physical form of it's own.", Cerebellum stated.
The color's form erupted with it's aurora shaking the spheres and terrifying everyone besides Malevolence and her goons who kept calm.
"Do not underestimate me.", the color said using a voice that sounded threatening and in control, "Powerful as you each are, when united we accomplish enough to render this Limbo into our own kingdom of power and you all act like children."
Malevolence looked smug.
"I have to get going.", she said plainly, "Got places to go, minds to snare. Bye."
Her sphere vanished along with the others but the color tapped it's hand on it's burly knee.
"Go on your foolish activity.", it said mostly to itself, "But as you all will learn, the tables will turn and I hold the key. Only fools would dare defy me."
A new sphere appeared and it showed the Pond.
"Let's see how you all fare my feathered pawns.", it said slyly, "And who is playing who in this hockey game of wits and power."
