A/N: Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well! Thank you for your love and support! I know I put y'all through hell with my stories, but the support means a lot! May you be well…

The next day Fitz all day with the trainers and medical staff trying to figure out if he was ready to go for Game one for the World Series. It was only three days away and they needed to assess his damages. The good news was that his shoulder needed some rest and it should be good, but the bad news was that they couldn't do anything about his hand cramping up. The only thing Ben could do was help Fitz flex the hand in different positions. All of the medical personnel were not confident to start Fitz, but with rest they want to see if he could improve.

Everyone cleared out except Cyrus and Ben.

"Fitz….."

"Cut the bullshit Benn just tell me if I have a chance of pitching Game 1!?"

"Fitz…..There will be other games in the Series you can start…."

"Cy….please you know this is my last shot at fulfilling my dream of being a starting pitcher for a World Series winning team….." Fitz pleaded with Cyrus.

"What do you mean this is your last chance?" Ben asked, confused.

"I'm though Ben….After the World Series I am retiring from baseball….I have given everything to this game and now I just want my peace." Ben understood what Fitz meant. Baseball meant everything to Fitz, what's the point of having everything when you have no one to share them with.

"Follow my guidelines on how long to keep the shoulder and hand iced. Do your exercises for both….and we'll see about getting you ready for game 1. Lucky for you, you didn't do that much damage on your shoulder."

"How about this I only pitch till the 8th inning and you can take me out Cy?"

"Six innings and like I said it will be a game time decision Fitzgerald." Fitz smiled because at least he got a game time decision out of Cyrus. Ben wrapped him up with the ice pack on his shoulder and Fitz headed out to the car where his driver was waiting for him. Tomorrow they leave for New York City as the Yankees had the better record during the regular season, so they will be hosting game one and two of the World Series.

This was a championship of monsters. Both teams were stacked offensively and defensively. The advantage was slightly towards the Dodgers because of their pitching and defense. They don't say defense doesn't win championships for nothing. Even if Fitz wasn't able to pitch after Game 1, they will have world class pitchers pitching for them. Fitz believed in his guys and trusted that they could get it done. Most of all they had hunger.

When Fitz arrived at his house he could hear the children laughing and smiled at the thought of Olivia and the twins being at his house. It made him extremely happy that they were there. Now he had to work extra hard to convince Olivia that he's worth another shot. His therapist has been helping him trying to explain to Olivia how he feels about her and them being separated. To express his feelings have always been hard because he's always been so closed off from people except his family. Maybe he was ready, maybe he wasn't, but it was worth the try. Fitz would rather live with the knowledge that he tried rather than knowing he could have tried to convince her to stay, but he didn't.

Olivia and the kids were playing spikeball and Fitz decided to make his presence known.

"Ty guy if I could I would help you, but I'm under strict orders to not use my shoulders for the next three days because it could be a deciding factor for if I pitch Game 1 of the World Series…" Fitz told Olivia and the children.

"OMG FITZ THEY ARE GOING TO LET YOU PITCH?" The children asked with the voice of excitement.

"It's a game time decision so we'll have to see but keep your finger crossed for me!" Fitz fist pounded the children.

"I'll make sure you are staying off your shoulder mister. That means so throwing me into the pool!" Olivia jokingly scolded.

"You know I'm sorry about that Livvie…." Fitz smirked not being sorry at all. Soon Olivia went to go in to make lunch for the four of them.

"Can I help?" Fitz walked into the kitchen.

"I would like that very much…." Olivia smiled.

"Could you actually let me take my ice pack off. It's been well over 15 minutes." Olivia smiled and nodded. She went over to Fitz and helped Fitz take off his bandage and looked up at his eyes.

Fitz's face came close to hers and Olivia stepped back.

"Olivia please…."

"Fitz….don't do this...Let's not ruin the day and our time here…."

"Livvie, if I don't try then how will I convince you that I am worth giving another chance…?"

"You think trying to kiss me is trying? You know what nevermind...Can you get the lemonade out of the fridge?"

"This conversation isn't over Livvie…" Olivia nodded and Fitz went over to grab the lemonade.

Once they started to make the sandwiches the two were back to normal and their verbal altercation forgotten. Fitz and Olivia brought the food and drinks out to the backyard for the children and the four had a lively lunch. Fitz just smiled and listened to the children talk. He missed them so much. They have grown quite a bit too. Both in height and wisdom. After all they were Olivia Pope's children. They were all excited to catch Fitz up on what's happening in their life. Letters were not the same as seeing the person you've missed in front of you.

Fitz then turned his attention back to Olivia. She was an angel in the sun. Her caramel skin glowed and the sun bounced off her hair. Her natural curly hair was in a bun with one curl on each side. Olivia had something on the edge of her lips so Fitz reached over and wiped it off. After lunch the four of them turned in for a little before dinner since they were going over to Fitz's parents house. Fitz went into his garage and decided to work on his bike. He was about to get under the bike to check out the issue.

"You mister should not be over working your shoulder if you want to pitch game one of the World Series." Olivia said from the door.

"I guess you're right…." Fitz responded and brought his hands together to clean off the dust.

"You also need some rest...Let's get you in for a nap Fitz…" Fitz gave Olivia a small smile and nodded. Olivia made sure Fitz got a nap in while she went to the living room and read her book. Soon they were getting ready for the dinner that Big Jerry and Adele was hosting in honor of Fitz and the Dodgers. When the four of them got to the house everyone was there. Fitz went over to hug his parents and brother and sisters. Big Jerry and Adele were happy to see their son smile again. His eyes were sparkling. They hoped that she would reconsider giving Fitz another chance.

Fitz greeted all of his teammates and they had a great time. Being the captain of the team he felt right to give his teammates a speech and to inform them about his plans to retire. He tapped his fork against the glass and got everyone attention.

"Tomorrow starts our journey gentleman….Our journey towards winning the World Series. Although we are going against the yankees. I believe in each in everyone of you! We are the LA Dodgers. Being champions means sacrifices….I won't ask you to do anything I wouldn't do….This is our chance to put our names in the baseball history books! No matter what happens I am so proud to be y'alls teammate.

When I look around this room I see talent, hard work, and drive! This is what sets us apart from the others. You guys are so young and have so much ahead of your careers….As for me….After the World Series I will be retiring….For the Love of the Game I am through….So for old time sake let's do this yeah?"

"TO FITZ!" Stephen rose his glass and shouted.

"TO FITZ!" The team shouted all together. Everyone was shocked to say the least, but they were happy for him. Baseball doesn't last forever and Fitz deserves his well deserved rest.

The whole night Fitz couldn't keep his eyes off Olivia. She looked amazing in that blue dress that she's wearing. He looked over at the children and they were having fun talking to his teammates. Then he looked over at his parents happily and talked to other guests...Over to his brother and sister….This was it. This was true happiness. His life was complete with these people in it. A little white later people started to leave because a majority of them were due to leave for New York in the morning for press week.

Fitz, Olivia and the kids had everything packed and ready to go for New York. They flew out with the private jet early in the morning and were there by the afternoon. Fitz left Olivia and the children at the Ritz because he had some press to do with the team. They had to do some pictures and videos. When he came back Fitz took Olivia and the children to see the Lion King on Broadway and they had so much fun. The days flew by so fast that today was the day. Fitz couldn't sleep so he decided to go on the roof top to just look at the glory of the city.

He was surprised when he saw Olivia there.

"Hi…."

"Hi…." Olivia said surprised as Fitz was up as well.

"What are you doing up here?"

"I enjoy just taking in all of the city….What are you doing up here?"

"I couldn't sleep...I'm too nervous…."

"Fitzgerald Grant nervous? Impossible!"

"Well I am Silly girl….I am nervous and scared that I'll let the team down? What if I…." Before Fitz could finish Olivia put a finger up to his lips.

"You are an AMAZING pitcher. I believe in you, the whole city of LA believes in you...Your family...Everyone...Just throw the ball Fitz and let your teammates do the rest…" Olivia said as she gave him a kiss on the cheeks and walked away. Fitz stayed up for a while until it was time for him to head to Yankee stadium. He was requested there earlier because he still needed to be cleared.

When he got to the medical room the medical staff including Ben examined him. This performed all kinds of tests on him and watched him pitch. Finally he was cleared. Cyrus came over and sighed. Fitz smiled and looked at his manager.

"SIX. INNINGS FITZ! I mean it! If I see anything I don't like I'm pulling you out!" Cyrus made a promise to Fitz.

"Cross my heart and hope to die." Fitz smirked and looked at his boss.

"God I need to retire!" Cyrus said as he walked out of the room. Fitz went into the locker room and got dressed for warm ups with his teammates. Fitz looked up at the family section and Olivia and the children were already there. They all had his jersey on and made signs for him. Fitz smiled and threw the ball.

Before he knew it the time had come to walk out on the field. The crowd was roaring and it was electric. Fitz took off his hat for the national anthem that was sung by Jennifer Hudson. When the National Anthem Fitz and the team clapped for the ending and got ready to play the game. He looked amazing in his uniform. Olivia observed Fitz who was throwing his practice pitches at the mound. Top of the first has finished and now it is time for Fitz to show New York City what he's got. The bottom of the first finished in no time. Fitz was smoken. The game went by so fast that the Dodgers were up 6-1 and it was the end of 6th.

True to his word Cyrus had taken Fitz out and put the relief pitcher Joe Kelly in. The Dodgers won game one 8-3. Fitz and Olivia went to celebrate with the rest of Fitz's teammates. She kept her distance and made it known that they were just there as friends. Two days later Game 2 was played and the Dodger had lost 3-1. Now it was time to take it home to LA. The Dodgers were on fire as they took games 3 and 4. In both games Cyrus forced Fitz to pinch hit and he got a homer as well as three RBI' the home front: Fitz had plenty of surprises for Olivia and the twins. He took them to different outings and they had so much fun.

Now it was Game 5 and Fitz and the Dodgers called a game. Cyrus wanted to save Fitz if they went to game 7, so he went with a different pitcher. The Dodgers stadium was electric. Fitz was sitting with the rest of his pitchers. All throughout the game it was a close score. Tied at 2-2 and now it was the 7th. Stephen got on base and now it was Allen's turn to hit. On the third pitch he hit a homerun to center off the field. Just like that they were up 4-2. In the 8th inning the Yankees hit a solo homerun and now it was 4-3. Fitz was sitting in the pitchers box when he heard the phone rang.

"Grant! Warm up!" Fitz smiled and grabbed his glove. When he was ready Fitz ran out to the field. The stadium roared in cheers for Fitz. It was a little unorthodox, but Cyrus believed in Fitz to close out this game and lead them into victory. After all Bruce Bochy did it with the Giants when they won the World Series so why not get Fitz out there. Olivia, the twins, Big Jerry, his brother and sister's were all cheering at the top of their lungs. They were so happy for him. Fitz got up to the mound and started to throw some warm up pitches.

The whole stadium was cheering Fitz's name as he got ready to face the first batter. He and the first batter battled and it ended in Fitz giving up and RBI. Fitz was upset at himself.

"DAMN IT FITZ JUST THROW THE DAMN BALL! You got this man!" Fitz told himself. The second manner he took care of in one, two and three strike style. The second batter hit a pop fly and Fitz caught it. That was two outs. The stadium got louder as they tasted victory.

Fitz took a deep breath and faced his final batter. What a battle they had. Fitz's first pitch was a ball. Then there was a foul ball. The next pitch the Emp ruled it as a ball but it was clearly a strike.

"Okay, Fitz this is it! Strike this idiot out!" The next pitch landed off the tip of the batters bat and Stephen caught it behind his back. Everyone was cheering. One more pitch and the pennant is theirs. Fitz took a deep breath and threw the ball. All he heard was the ball hit Stephen's glove and the word "STRIKEEEE". The next thing Fitz knew Stephen had taken off his helmet and raced towards Fitz. Fitz jumped on Stephen and pointed the number one finger up.

They did it! They were WORLD CHAMPIONS! The whole team came and celebrated with them. There was gatorade thrown on Cyrus and he wasn't even made because he had won the World Series. The World Champ hats and t-shirts were handed out and Fitz put his on. Olivia was making a b-line for him and Fitz took her into his arms. She hugged him so tight. Olivia was so happy for Fitz. He deserved this. Fitz brought the children into his arms. They were a family. His family.

"I'm so proud of you Fitz…." Olivia screamed.

"Thank you for all of your support…."

"Forever and always…"

"Forever and always."

Big Jerry and Adele ran to their son and also gave him a huge hug.

"You did it my boy...I love you so much my son…."

"I love you too dad…"

"I am so proud of you my bug…" Adele cupped Fitz's face and kissed him on the cheek.

"I love you mom…"

"I love you more my son…." Fitz hugged his parents again as he was whisked away by reporters.

"Fitz Grant! How does it feel?"

"Oh man...I don't even know...I can't even describe what I'm feeling right now…."

"Well how about the World Series Champ...How does that sound?"

"Sounds amazing Doris!" Fitz was whisked away again. Cyrus grabbed Fitz and hugged him tight.

"CONGRATS MVP!" Cyrus yelled at Fitz.

"What?"

"You are the Series MVP Fitz…."

"Your kidding!?"

"I'm afraid not! Congratulations Fitzgerlad Grant I couldn't think of a person who is more deserving.

The people from Chevy got set up. The camera's were rolled on him and the Chevy representatives.

"Chevrolet presents the Series MVP to Fitzgerald Grant! With the MVP selection we at Chevy would like to awkward you with our brand new Corvette! Congratulations Fitz…."

"Thank you so much!" Fitz got his trophy and now it was time for the Commissioner Trophy. Speeches were made and finally the trophy was handed over to Cyrus and the team celebrated. When the trophy got to Fitz's hands he teared up. All of his hard work in life and this was all worth it.

"Fitz tell us how you are feeling right now…?"

"I….I don't even know...I've worked so hard for this and the road I have been on it's been tough...But it's so worth it because to see the smile on all these people's faces...It makes it all worth it….This have been my dream...My whole life...I have dreamt of this moment…." Fitz said as he was in tears. It brought Olivia and Adele to tears. Fitz and the team went into the locker room to celebrate with champagne. More press was done and now it was time to party.

Fitz and Olivia joined his teammates at the club that was hosting the Dodgers party. Everyone danced and drank like crazy. Fitz and Olivia were all over each other on the dance floor. She was grinding on him and he matched her moves. They didn't stop partying till about 6am. The next day it was all media and press for Fitz. He was in cloud nine. The day after it was the championship parade. Fitz brought Olivia, the twins, Big Jerry, Adele, his brother and sisters. They all have been drinking since they woke up. So it was safe to say Fitz was already tispy.

During the parade Fitz's hand did not leave Olivia's waste. There was a halt in the parade and some threw Fitz a Bud Light. He shot it at record speed and the crowd cheered. The parade was a success. It warmed Olivia's heart to see Fitz so happy. The day after the parade Fitz and the owners of the Dodgers sat down and announced his retirement.

"Ladies and Gentlemen….I have had a long and successful career as a Dodgers player...For the past 23 years I have worn these colors loud and proud….But, there comes a time for a player to step away from the game he loves the most….Change is hard but that is the only constant thing in life...With that being said I think this is the perfect time to walk away from the game I love so much...I am retiring from Baseball...A proud Dodger for life...I have given my all to the Dodgers and now we are World Series Champions…..It's so hard to walk away from something I love so much...Something I have given my all to...But, I have also lost a lot because of it….It's time to get them back...Give my body a rest...I just didn't think it would be this hard…." Fitz ended his speech in tears. Olviia was there all throughout supporting Fitz.

The Dodgers and Cyrus had offered Fitz the pitching coach position and he accepted. His schedule and life got so busy and it was interview after interview. Fitz came back from his GQ photoshoot and there were bags by the door. Fitz was confused.

"Livvie….? What is all of this?" Fitz asked as he threw his sunglasses on the table.

"It's time the children and I head to Spain…."

"But...I thought it worked….? Please tell me why you are leaving me…." Fitz was in tears now.

"Your life is here….You have so much going for you...You shouldn't be worried about us...I can't and won't ask you to come to Spain with me….I can't leave Tyler alone with his uncle...I have to think about my children….Why is why I have to say goodbye...I just want you to know….I will ALWAYS wear this ring…" Olivia pointed at Dux bebe.

"Fitz….I love you so much…."

"Then don't leave me please….We are right for each other…."

'We are...but the timing…..Think of the children Fitz…." Fitz gave Olivia a long look.

"Okay…..you go….Take care of your children...Know that I will ALWAYS be waiting for you…"

"Fitz you don't have to…."

"You've ruined me for anyone else Livvie….I will be here when you come back…." The children cried and hugged Fitz for a while. They said their goodbyes and Fitz watched as Olivia and the children got into the car and his driver drove them away. Suddenly the car stopped and Olivia came out. Fitz started running towards it. Once they reached each other their lips were connected instantly. The kiss said it all. For all he knew it could be the last kiss they'll ever share. Fitz put everything into that kiss.

Five years later

Fitz was having his morning coffee at an outside cafe when his phone chimed. It was an instagram message he ignored it for the time being. Then he saw a group of girls pass by him and one stopped at her tracks.

"Fitz!" The girl came towards him.

"Oh my god! Cassie? What are you doing here?"

"I am attending UCLA now on a softball scholarship!" Cassie answered.

"Wow...that's great kiddo...I am so so proud of you…."

"Thank you so much Fitz…." Fitz was about to say something when one of Cassie's friends spoke up.

"Cassie we are going to be late for practice!"

"Go!" Fitz told Cassie. She hesitated because she didn't want to leave, but didn't want to be late to practice either. Cassie hugged Fitz tight and spoke.

"I miss you…."

"I've missed you too kiddo…" Fitz hugged the girl again and on she went. When he got home he checked his phone it was a message from none other than Tyler Pope. The DM said: "Hi Fitz...I don't have your number so I found you on insta….Next Saturday I am making my first official start for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu...It would mean the WORLD to me if you could be there…." Fitz responded to Tyler saying: "I wouldn't miss it for WORLD!"

It was off season so he was able to hop on the plane and arrive in Madrid. Fitz was the manager for the Dodgers. He took over as Cyrus retired two years ago. Now he was about to see Olivia in five years. He wondered what Olivia would look like. Fitz arrived at the Bernabeu and was shown to the players family boy. He sat down and nursed his beer when he heard a voice he had been longing for five years.

"Hi….." Fitz turned around and there she was. The love of his life.

"Hi….."

A/N: Don't hate me please! There is a method to my madness…..Trust the process….
