*Chapter 14: Recovery and Flashback*

Robyn had been resting up for the entire day since last night's events. Even Basil and Dawson need to figure out where Ratigan has been hiding. Basil had been examining the list Fidget had left behind. Robyn walked out of the guest room to see the male mice focusing on Basil's experiment on his laboratory table. Dawson noticed Robyn.

"Oh, Robyn. How are you feeling?" Dawson asked. "How is your rest?"

"Fine and well, Dr. Dawson." Robyn replied. "Basil, are you alright? Those toys collapse on you and-"

"I'm fine and well myself, Robyn." Basil said, holding the list. "I'm getting a clue of how to find that evil professor." Robyn nodded and run her hands through her hair.

"I need fresh air for a moment." She said.

"But, Robyn-" Dawson spoke, but Robyn cut him by opening the door, she turned to him with a small smile.

"I will be right by the door." Robyn said. "Don't worry. It's just...it's been a rough evening." She walked out the door to be alone. Dawson was concerned about Robyn's behavior.

"Basil, I think you need to talk to Miss Lotte." Dawson said. Basil halts his experiment and turn to the doctor. "She has been awfully quiet since we came back."

"Doctor, I assure you, she is fine." Basil told him. "Now, let me work on this."

Robyn stood next to the door, breathing in and out slowly. She knew that Basil will discover where Ratigan is hiding. At least Robyn had no clue where his lair is since she's been blindfolded the last few times. She should know where the lair is after she and Gustave escape, but she was in a panic and didn't bother to look around the surroundings. Ratigan's thugs could be out there looking for her to bring her back to the lair. Robyn will have to stay with Basil and help rescue her friends and the Flavershams.

"Basil will find out that I've met Ratigan." Robyn told herself. "He'll think I'm a criminal." She looks up to see a night sky. "I should tell him. Maybe he'll understand. We've known each other since we were children." She then thought about her good times with Basil when they were children before she moved to the Opera house.

*Flashback*

Young Basil and Robyn are running around the rose garden, flying a kite together with laughter. They watch the yellow kite up in the air as Basil is pulling on a string. Robyn let out a gasp as she and Basil started to roll down the grassy hill. The young mice continue to roll down the hill and stop by a rose bush and a kite crashed into it. The paper was ripped. Basil looked up to see a kite above him.

"Oh no." He said. "My kite." Robyn sat up and shook the dirt off of her. Basil pulled on a string to get the kite down. It lands by his feet. The boy picked it up in disappointment. "It's ruined." He said.

"Ohh." Robyn said with a frown. "We can fix it, can't we?"

"We need paper." Basil told her. "Oh well. But, it's been fun. Let's head back up." He took her by the hand and they walk up to the hill. "Next time we should watch where we are going." He said with a giggle. Robyn laughed along. As they made it to the top of the hill and see their fathers looking for them. "I should be going now. We'll play again tomorrow, Robyn." Basil said.

"Of course! But before you go..." Robyn snatched his deerstalker hat and ran off with it.

"Hey!" Basil cried out and chase after her. "I hate it when you do that! Robyn!" The girl laughed as she is running with the hat while Basil is chasing her. How she loves to snatch his belongings to have him chase her. Robyn started to hide behind her father, giggling as Basil tried to get her. Basil's father chuckled as his son is chasing Robyn for getting his hat back.

"Another day of snatching and chasing." He said. Basil made a quick move by tricking Robyn to go one way and he tackled her to the grass. Basil got the hat out of Robyn's hands. Once the hat is back on his head, he look down at Robyn. He got off of her and help her up. They both blush a bit. Basil rubs the back of his neck as Robyn holds her hair over her shoulder, looking away.

"We must go, Robyn. We will come back tomorrow." Robyn's father said. "Goodbye, Johnathon and Basil."

"Goodbye, Mr. and Miss Lotte." Basil's father, Johnathon, said. Robyn and Basil waved at each other and went separate ways. Basil smiled and touched his hat.

*End Flashback*

"Robyn?" Basil's voice called. Robyn blinked and turn to see Basil by the door. He stood beside her. "Everything alright?" He asked. "Are you worried about Gustave and Olivia?"

"Of course I am. But...there is someone else." Robyn said. "Basil, I tried to tell you before, but things have gotten in the way. You see, my friend, Zoe Ginny, she was kidnapped by Ratigan sometime before Mr. Flaversham."

"Kidnapped? Whatever for?" Basil asked. Robyn looked at him nervously.

"I...well...you see-"

"Robyn, you look afraid." Basil said. "Listen, we will rescue Zoe, Olivia, and the others. The professor will be stopped. He will be behind bars." He held Robyn's shoulders. "Do you trust me on this, Robyn?" The female mouse looked into his emerald eyes in silent. Basil gave her reassuring smile. Robyn gave him a nod.

"Yes. I do trust you, Basil." She said.

"Now, come back inside. I have discovered where we could Ratigan." Basil said as he brought her back in the house. "But we must be in disguise. Even you. After all, you did perform two opera shows." Robyn sees a map that Basil had put up and a dart lands on River Thomas. "We are going to the Rat Trap. No innocent mouse would ever go there." Basil said, taking out a chest of many disguises he has.

"Are you sure about this, Basil?" Dawson asked. "If Robyn is known in London, I don't think any mouse could possibly harm her. They will see her as a new diva of the Opera house."

"Yes. You do have a point, Dawson." Robyn said. "Basil, I could wear something, but not anything to look like...a ruffian."

"Not all mice are friendly at pubs, my dear Robyn." Basil said with a smirk. His beam at the dress and hand it over to Robyn. "Go change." Robyn rolled her eyes and left to go change in the guest room.
After some time, Basil and Dawson are in their disguises, waiting for Robyn to come out of the guest room. Basil is wearing a long blue coat with a maroon turtleneck sweater underneath, a blue sailor hat, light blue trousers, black shoes, and a fake mustache. Dawson is wearing a red striped shirt that is small on him, blue trousers, black shoes, an eye patch and a loop earring. He looks like a pirate. The doctor tries to pull down the shirt to hide his stomach. The door opened and revealed Robyn in her peasant red dress. She is wearing a white shirt with off-the-shoulder neckline with puffed short sleeves, a dark red corset with black laces, and black flats. Her hair is down, a little curly. Basil stared at her in awe.

"I look dull." Robyn said. "At least I don't look like a gypsy. No offense to Gustave..."

"No. You look great." Basil said, taking her hands. "I know I don't have much, but it's all we could do. Now, let's get down to the Rat Trap." Robyn nodded, knowing that Basil is right. Robyn can't look perfect or be who she is. Besides, no one would recognize her. Right? The mice left to get Toby to take them to River Thames.
