Emily and Elle walked up to the high school for Psychology. They tried to put as much distance as possible between themselves and the twins. They didn't want to start anything. Not now.

They arrived at the high school in about 10 minutes and started to navigate the halls. Elle and Emily went one way, while the Kelchers insisted they were right and turned down another hallway.

"First day here and we already can't seem to agree on anything," Elle commented. As they rounded another corner, they saw Gideon.

"Welcome to Psychology. Where are your other classmates?"

"They insisted they knew where they were going and went down a different hallway a few minutes ago." Elle answered. She felt a strange sense of accomplishment at beating the twins to the classroom.

"Thank you. Take a seat anywhere, I'll go find them." He gave them a small smile before disappearing down the hall. They stepped into the small classroom, and Emily was relieved to see that Derek was at a table of 4 with his friend. They took the other 2 seats at the 4 desks, eliminating the possibility of sitting near Jake and Chloe.

"Emily! I didn't know you were in this class!" Derek said happily. Luke and Elle just looked confused.

"We didn't either, until yesterday. We've been 'specially chosen' to be in a high school class."

Luke and Elle looked at each other, still confused on how they knew each other.

"You two know each other?" Luke finally asked.

"Yeah, Em's my sibling." They accepted the answer as Gideon came back in the classroom with Jake and Chloe. They took a seat at the back, across the class from the 4 friends.

"Welcome to Psychology. Now, those of you who are high schoolers already know me, but we've also got 4 new students from the middle school, Elle Greenaway, Emily Prentiss, and Jake and Chloe Kelcher." He continued with the class. Elle and Emily were fascinated, while the Kelchers just looked bored. They didn't understand most of it, and they had no interest in trying to.

When the class ended and they went to board the buses, Derek grabbed Emily's arm.

"Hey, do you want to walk home with me? I want to talk to you." She nodded, a bit confused, but she trusted Derek.

"Yeah, just let me tell Haley and Aaron that I'll be home later and that I won't be on the bus." Derek waited as she told their foster parents.

"Ok, what is it?" She inquired, still confused.

"Let's go to the park." She followed him again, still extremely confused. Why couldn't he just talk to her there?

They got down to their local park in about 10 minutes. He led her to the side of the lake, under a large tree with some benches scattered. She couldn't see anyone else, and if they were there, they were just old people with no interest in their conversation.

"Alright, why are you being so weird? Why did you take me here?"

"I want to ask you something and it didn't seem right to ask you in the parking lot of a high school. Not with a bunch of people around. How long were you in a bad home?" She scoffed.

"Which one? And how'd you know?"

"I saw how protective you were of JJ, and I saw you acting like me." Her eyes widened in understanding.

"You were in one too? With Spencer? How long?" She asked, rapid-fire.

"Yeah, I was in one with Spence. 5 months. What about yours?"

"Um, let's see, the first bad one was pretty mild, I got slapped a few times, and 1 punch, but nothing major. The latest one, the one before this home, was the worst. 10 months. I was in there for 10 months, with 6 other kids, all younger than me. You should know what happens when you're the oldest, right?" She said with a humorless chuckle. "But why do you care? What impact does it have on you?"

"I just wanted to know. We're siblings now, not strangers. And typically, siblings know each other."

"I guess. Not a word about this to anyone, understood? I don't tell people about that crap everyday. I wouldn't have told you if you didn't tell me first. I'm gonna go back to the house now, bye," she said before turning to go back to the Hotchners.

"Emily, I won't tell anyone. I promise. It's fine." He assured her before following her back to the house.

A/N: Yay, we've got a Derek and Emily sibling bonding moment! Yaaaaaay! Please review, they bring me joy!
