Sequel story to Internal Deception. The story continues once Crawford was arrested gives the orders to hire hitmen to kill Gibbs and Lt. Baskins at his cabin, while Phineas is left homeless again with the murders of his Aunt and Uncle by the same hit men turning out to be Russian "Sleepers".

18. Chapter 18

Dangerous Liaisons

Chapter 18th

Doctor Talf with Emily following behind him into Gibbs room. Doctor Talf had to asked what exactly happened. "Jethro what did you do to cause the pain?" He looked at his patient's face being still somewhat pale.

"I tried moving when the pain had hit me. The pain has stopped for now Doc." Gibbs said like a lost puppy.

"Ok, I will be sure to have the nurse check you every hour to be sure no other issues arises. I will leave you to your family for now." He stated seriously with his tone of voice.

Tobias and Emily waited for the doctor to leave. "Wow! He's really something Jethro with his concern for you ever since he took care of you on the U.S.S. Daniel Webster."

"Yeah I know Tobias." Gibbs said softly with his response while Emily stayed quiet sitting waiting for her father to finish.

A moment later Emily told her uncle that she was leaving to go see Lt. Baskins. "Daddy, I will be waiting for you there." She gets up to hug her uncle Gibbs making sure not to hurt him. "Talk to you soon Uncle Gibbs." She moves out of the ICU to head for Loreile room to see how she is doing.

"Emily seems to be happy Tobias since finishing up with rehab?" Gibbs says.

"It's not been easy Jethro since she was able to go back to rehab and finish up taking six months. Her mother Diane would be proud." Fornell emotionally replied.
