Scene 16

Kaiya followed Sasuke from the distance.

She knew it would only push the boy away if Sasuke saw her.

"Sasuke, you have to relax." Kaiya went to the young little boy.

Sasuke continued to throw shuriken and not listen.

No one had seen Sasuke since the village found out he was now the only Uchiha still alive.

Except for his brother.

The one who murdered his entire clan.

Murdered his uncles and aunts.

Murdered children.

His own parents as well.

Itachi.

Sasuke was panting and fell to the ground. "It's not fair!' he yelled crying, 'I should've been there. I should've protected mother and father! Kaiya, why would Itachi do that? Why did he kill my family?"

Kaiya didn't know what to say.

She didn't know the answers.

"I'm sorry Sasuke." was all she could say and she held the boy crying. "I'm so sorry."

Sasuke gasped and hugged Kaiya back.

"I'm sorry to Kaiya," he mumbled.

It had been years since that day, the last day Sasuke let his guard down in front of anyone.

He grew hard.

Closed off.

Kaiya would visit him from time to time, and Sasuke was no longer the little boy she had met.

He didn't smile anymore.

Didn't want to play anymore.

All he wanted was revenge.

On the day Kaiya met Team 7, she congratulated them all for graduating from the academy.

After she treated them to dinner at her apartment, Sasuke was one of the last to leave.

"Kaiya," he called.

"Yes, Sasuke?"

Kakashi was cleaning the table, helping Kaiya.

The two were alone in the Kitchen.

"I want you to know my goal is still the same in life. And I will kill Itachi one day." and he then went out of her apartment.

Kaiya dropped a plate she had been cleaning, onto the ground.

It shattered.

Kaiya hated that she had gotten so close to Itachi those years ago.

Never once did she see any signs that he would do such a thing.

She still was in disbelief.

The Itachi she knew loved his family.

Loved Sasuke.

Loved the Hidden Leaf Village.

Kaiya stopped following as intently Sasuke once she followed him to the outpost town outside of the village.

She began walking aimlessly instead.

She knew she couldn't get involved with this, but she had to know for sure.

After a while, she stopped in front of a hotel and heard a giant bang.

Gasping, she saw electricity slowly defuse.

Sasuke and Itachi were fighting, she had no doubt.

However, once she saw Jiraiya jump into the hole, she knew Naruto and Sasuke would be safe.

This battle wouldn't last long and she needed answers.

Itachi and Kisame had stopped at an abandoned house outside of the town to rest at.

He had taken off his jacket and decided to go for a walk into the forest when he sensed someone near.

Throwing his kunai at the tree to alarm them, he was then caught off guard at the opposite side with a voice.

"Itachi."

His eyes went wide and his Sharingan wore off.

"Kaiya?" he turned.

The two stared at each other.

"Five years right?" he asked, turning around to pick up his kunai.

Acting like her appearance didn't mean anything to him.

Memories started rushing back to him of his first love.

Was that what Kaiya was?

Did he finally admit it?

"I needed to see you myself." Kaiya began.

"You've grown,' he sat down on a big rock. 'Sorry about Kakashi, he got in my way"

Anger ran through her.

The way he apologized, sounded like Kakashi was just a little pest that he happened to cross by.

"I hate you." she blurted out.

Itachi looked at her.

"I hate you so much!' yelling, 'you hurt people Itachi! You killed them! And you continue to do so! You left me! I hate you!" crying.

"Still crying I see." he got up and went to her.

She tried to push him away but he was too strong.

Itachi held her, "I'm glad you hate me, I hate me too."

Kissing her forehead, and he vanished in smoke.

Kaiya fell to her knees and continued to cry.

She didn't truly hate Itachi.

When she got back to the village, Kaiya went to Kakashi's apartment and laid next to him.

Crying, she couldn't help him.

"Please don't leave Kakashi." she clenched to his shirt.

"I need you, you're the only one I have."

AN: So this is going to be that last chapter for the Naruto series, and the next chapter will be a time-hop into Shippuden. I actually already wrote a lot for the Shippuden era before I did all of these 17 chapters. I think we have seen Kaiya fall into a deep depression and not much can change her at this point. The next time we see her will be three years from now, 21 years old. And trust me, there will be a lot more development and story to come.
