Despite Rosalie being into fashion and always looking her best, there was nothing she loved more than a good game of baseball. It was a shame they couldn't do it so often, however, she never took advantage of the chances they got. To everyone else Rosalie was quite the girly girl but she was actually quite the car girl, having a passion for collecting cars like Edward, and surprisingly she was an amazing mechanic, something her, Edward and Emmett often bonded over. Along with that she had also earned degrees in electrical engineering, business, astrophysics and was set to study medicine in college to help Carlilse keep up to date with it all.
Rose knew that Bella was joining the family game today and she wasn't too pleased about it but she was happy to ignore her for a game. Her and Carlisle were stood together, messing around with the baseball to see who would bat first, Rose of course won before Carlisle shoved her playfully making her hit him in the chest with a smile. Walking to the spot ready to bat she heard Esme and Emmett, "She thinks we cheat." Emmett said playfully to Bella, Rose rolled her eyes, he most definitely cheated, she thought to herself which made Edward laugh slightly, "I know you cheat." Esme fired back playfully, "Call them as you see them Bella." Esme said with a smile. As the thunder and lightning struck, Alice through the ball and Rosalie very powerfully hit it before running around the bases as fast as he could, she knew she was up against Edward and that he was faster so she really had to work for the win. Sliding into the base she looked to Bella, "You're out." she said simply, Rosalie was not impressed, "Out! Whooo" Emmett called out, in his boyish, playful charm, Rosalie looked at him like she was about to kill him as she slowly stood up, "Come on babe, it's just a game." he added once more, Rosalie bit down on her jaw not taking her eyes of Bella, before sighing and walking behind them, she was not happy, the human could even ruin her fun in something she loved so much.
After a few more rounds, Alice had called for them to stop during Rose's second run, Rose heard and knew it wasn't good. Running over to her family, she saw Edward talking to Bella, telling her to put her hair down, "Like that will help, I can smell her from across the field." She spat before going to stand with the rest of her family for the arrival of the new vampires. She instantly took a stand of defence, knowing they somewhat posed a threat to her family, her gloved hands were clenched in firsts and she stood tall, she didn't say much as Carlisle usually handled this kind of stuff, it went pretty well..until that creepy vamp James had smelt Bella. Rose was surprisingly one of the first ones to jump into a protective stance, slightly arched as she came face to face with the redhead Victoria. Emmett stood behind her very protective too, once more the two leaders Carlisle and Laurent had sorted the situation but Rosalie and Victoria were the last to get out of their defence stance, Rosalie never losing eye contact with her, she felt Emmett hit her hip slightly to tell her to leave it before both the women kinda hissed towards each other and then parted ways with the family. Edward had rushed Bella off in a panic as the others gathered around, "What now?" Alice asked concerned, "We have to protect Bella, Emmett and Alice, you follow Edward, make sure they have back up if the tracker is following them." Carlisle said simply, Rosalie sighed looking at Emmett not wanting him to go, it was dangerous after all, but Emmett liked all this, the drama, the excitement that came with the idea of potentially having to fight. "Rose, Esme, Jasper, come back to the house with me, we'll prepare some stuff to throw James of course." Carlisle added again before they nodded, "Be careful." Rosalie told Emmett as she grabbed his arm before they parted ways, "Always." He said with a smirk, kissing her forehead.
Around an hour later, the Cullens and Bella were back in the basement of their home, "I've fought his kind before, It's not easy." Jasper said to Emmett as they walked to the cupboards, "But not impossible." Emmett said with a smug look, "We'll tear him apart and burn the pieces." He once more added, looking forward to it. "I don't condone killing anyone Emmett...not even someone as vile as James." Carlisle said simply, "What if he kills one of us first?" Rosalie asked sitting on the side, "We'll lead himself, I'll take Bella as far away from here as possible." Edward said softly, "No. James knows you'll never leave her, she can go with Alice." Carlisle added, Rosalie just sat back and rolled her eyes, this is what happens when you get involved with humans, she thought to herself, Edward heard her thoughts and gave her a look, "Rosalie, Esme can you take these? So the tracker can pick up Bella's scent?" Edward asked obviously concerned, throwing the coat at Rosalie, "Why? What is she to me?" Rose obviously did not want to. Emmett looked to her, "Babe." he said simply, but this time it was Carlisle who intervened, "Rosalie. Bella is family now...we protect our family." He said simply, as Edward and Rosalie stared at each other intensely, you could see the debate on her face, Emmett knowing her could see that she did want to do the good thing but also had to stick with her pride, taking the coat she sighed before her and Emmett went to the jeep.
"I can't believe we are putting ourselves at risk for her...I knew this was a bad idea." Rose said leaning her arm against the window as Emmett drove, "I know...but Edward would do the same for us, it's only right." Emmett said simply, focusing on driving at the same time. "I can't believe you're so calm about this." Rose said with an eye roll, "I'm not calm about anything, I'm worried too...but it is what it is, and like Carlisle said...we protect family." Emmett looked to her and she looked back, "That's the reason you're not into this right? Because you want to protect your family? Now, she is a part of this family too...so we have to protect her." Emmett said simply trying to pull her to some sort of sense, she sighed knowing he was right and through the years she would most definitely become a lot softer and more accepting of Bella. "Fine."
