I am so sorry for the huge delay of this chapter. Lost the main idea and didn't know how to continue with the story. Anyway hope you enjoy :)
Their travel was without any interference. McCree was sleeping, choosing it to avoid any awkward questions. Brigitte was talking with Angela and Reinhardt. Torbjörn was driving the ship and Orisa was listening to the others talk. When they arrived, they were greeted by the Deadlock Gang immediately.
"It's nice to see you again here, Jesse. Been a while since you were part of the Gang." Ashe said.
"Well, it's nice to come back every once in a while, Ashe."
"I hoped that it wouldn't be because of this situation. Also, you still owe me my bike." She said.
"You aren't gonna leave that, are ya?" He said.
Before Ashe could answer, Torbjörn interrupted them. "Sorry for interrupt, but we need to care of more important things." He said.
"Yes, we do. If you'd follow me over here." Ashe said guiding them. They entered the Deadlock Gang's HQ and in the middle of the room was BOB, but it was in a really bad shape.
"Wow... whatever did that, was sure to be strong. That omnic looks really tough." Brigitte said.
"We were ambushed by those Talon suckers. But then they used a new weapon against us. It was terrifying. Whatever we shoot at him, he just stopped our attacks in mid air."
"Stopped your attacks in mid air? C'mon, Ashe. It's no time for a fantasy story." Jesse said.
"It's not, Jesse. It's real what I said."
"You said that he stopped your attacks in mid air. What did you mean by he?" Orisa asked.
"The new weapon is in fact a man. But he can control gravity or something. BOB has the recording of our first and only encounter with him. After the attack, we decided to stay and cause little problem. We don't know when they'll attack."
"Well, leave Brigitte and myself to restore BOB to his former glory while you prepare something to face Talon with. Let's go Brigitte! Time to repair!" Torbjörn said walking to BOB.
"At once, Papa." Brigitte said walking with her father.
"In the mean time, we should talk about the plan if we want to put a fight." Reinhardt said.
"What do you suggest?" Angela said.
"We need the map of this area. That way we can lure them into a-" Ashe interrupted Reinhardt.
"That ain't gonna work, mate. Talon already knows the area. They even know it better than us, and we've been here for years. We need another thing to do."
"Still, it'd be better to at least have the knowledge of this place. You've been here, but we haven't." Reinhardt said. Ashe sighed.
"Alright. I'll show you the map. But I insist. Talon has taken control of this place. It'd be hard to fight them back."a
"Hmm... this is gonna be hard for us then. Where's the old table? The one we used to make our plans?" Jesse said,
"Over here." Ashe said walking to another room with the others following. Inside the room was an old table witch had different bruises, cuts, burns.
"Just like I remember it." Jesse said as he and the others walked to the table. Ashe approached a wall and took off Route 66's map and placed it on the table.
"Alright. The base is here, and Talon's operations center is by the restaurant. Even if we attack them by night, they'll still win. We need a new approach." Ashe said.
"By the way, Ashe. What 'bout the weapon they tried against you?" Jesse asked.
"If it weren't for BOB, we wouldn't be here." Ashe sighed. "We were doing well with our attack. But then... he showed up and defeated us easily and fast. I was so shocked to see someone to use that kind of strength to beat us. BOB has more about it than we-" Ashe was interrupted by the door opening abruptly and Torbjörn, followed with a concerned Brigitte, entered the room. Torbjörn wasn't ok, you could see that by observing his face.
"Papa! What is it?" Brigitte asked concerned.
"This... this weapon you spoke of... was once a really brilliant scientist that was sent to study the effects of his failed experiment." He closed his eyes. "I thought he died when Talon attacked the facility. But..." instead of speaking, he showed them about Talon's new weapon.
Mauga and his team were just in front of the Deadlock Gang's base, and were ready to attack. The plan was simple: enter and test the new project they have been doing on these past few days. And since Overwatch was there as well, it was the perfect time to test them.
"We are in position. With the Test Subject in our side, it'll be easy defeating them." He said aloud.
"True. They do not know about it, or how to counter it." Nguyen said through the communicator.
"There is one who knows." Mauga said.
"That's not a probability. He's not there with them now. Now, enough of stalling the inevitable. Start the attack."
"As you say."
"Sir, we await orders." A soldier beside him said.
Looking in front of him, Mauga put on his helmet. "Commence the attack."
Many knew that he was a great scientist. But looking at him now? It was an horror. But before anyone could say or do something, a loud explosion was heard from the entrance. Thinking fast, They exited the room and found some of the Gang running and getting in position.
"What the hell happened?!" Ashe exclaimed.
"It's Talon! They are attacking us!"
"Already? Then that means that they have found us." Reinhardt stated.
"The thing is, are we really prepared to fight them off?" Angela asked.
"Well, shoot. Seems to me that we'll have to hold them off and force them to retreat." Jesse said reloading his revolver.
"You saw what I showed you there! This place is as good as gone! We cannot fight something like that!" Torbjörn said.
"Well, we have technology made by the best and smartest monkey and others engineers the world has. Besides, I ain't gonna leave a comrade on this alone." Jesse said, making Ashe to look at him.
She closed her eyes and smiled before huffing. "Just like old times."
"Yeah... just like old times." Jesse said.
Knowing that further argue would lead to nothing, Orisa, Reinhardt, Torbjörn, Brigitte and Angela prepared themselves.
Torbjörn placed a turret, Orisa put a shield, Brigitte and Reinhardt stayed in the front lines and Angela was ready to be of help.
Talon managed to break down the door and fire started coming from both sides. Explosions and death from both sides. Taking advantage of knowing their own base, the Gang managed to hit surprise attacks from behind.
But Talon's strength was too much for them, forcing both Overwatch and the Gang to fall back.
"Ready to give up?" Mauga said. "You still have this chance."
"We ain't gonna surrender to you, you bastard." Ashe answered.
Mauga shook his head. "Shame. You'd do a fine addition to Talon." He then looked behind him. "Come, Sigma!" He said.
A tall man levitated towards the group. His feet weren't touching the ground, and he was wearing a strange armor, there is a strange helmet attached to his skull. Siebren floated to Mauga.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Finish them off."
Siebren look at Overwatch's group. "They were my comrades! I can't kill them!" He said.
Knowing that Siebren still retains some memories from Overwatch, he took a small device and pressed a button and Siebren grabbed his head before opening his eyes wide. He floated higher in the air screaming in his mother language,
"Het universum zingt voor mij!" He said. Then, every member of Overwatch was lifted from the ground, not possible escape, before being thrown to the ground. But before they could hit the ground, a small device appeared and created a field where they got safe. Everyone was about to wonder what happened when another voice in the air was heard.
"Adaptive circuits engaged: Sigma!" Then a big rock was thrown to Talon, knocking some of their agents. Then a shield appeared on front of everyone, blocking immediate attacks from Talon. Then the same voice was heard again.
"Het universum zingt voor mij!" Then, Talon's agents started to levitate before being thrown to the ground. Then, the Overwatch group was being healed. When they looked up, they saw that Baptiste entered through a window.
"Baptiste! How-?" Angela was about to ask but Baptiste interrupted her.
"I checked some communications links I used to have, and I found about their 'prototype'. I knew that you weren't prepared for it, so I came her as fast as I could. Seems that I was just in time."
"But what about him or her?" Torbjörn asked.
"Echo." Jesse simply said.
"What?" Torbjörn asked again.
"Retreat!" They heard Mauga saying. They heard a ship outside, meaning that Mauga was called it some time back.
Before he could return to his ship, he turned and saw Baptiste. "This isn't over, Bap. Remember that." He said before running with the reminding forces he had, along with Sigma.
It is then that Echo went to them.
"I see that you are all alright." She said floating.
"Been a while since I saw you, old friend." Jesse said.
"You too, cowboy."
"I meet her in my way here. She was investigating what was going on, and agreed on helping you." Baptiste said.
"Ok, let's see the injures, then we can report wha we have found." Reinhardt said.
"Sorry for this, but who was that Sigma man?" Orisa asked.
"Siebren used to be a great scientist. But a mistake on one pf his experiments made him disappear. Many thought he was dead. But seeing him now with Talon..." Angela shuddered.
"Seems like Talon got another weapon for them, uh?" Brigitte said, knowing a bit about Amélie.
"We need to inform this." Reinhardt said.
"By the way Bap, did you ask for permission to come here?" Jesse asked looking to Baptiste.
He shook his head. "It'd have taken so long. So I just got into my ship and flew here. I'll take any punishment they want. Rather that than having some of my allies dead."
Jesse nodded. Reinhardt spoke. "Ah! Don't worry! I shall be your lawyer when we are back! I must say that I'd do the same! As everyone there in our base!"
"Stop screaming like crazy, you big german!" Torbjörn said while Brigitte tried her best to calm him down.
"I'll gather the injured." Ashe said. "Will BOB be ok?"
"Of course! Just a bit more and he'd be moving like new." Torbjörn said proudly.
They spent the rest of the day healing the injured, repairing and reporting to their HQ. Jack, Ana and Winston weren't too happy that Baptiste suddenly left, but they understood his intentions and let that pass as he saved their members. Jesse asked Echo to join them, which she accepted. Now Overwatch got two new allies that'll aid them to fight Talon and Null Sector that was now arising.
While that happened, Lena and Hana were watching some TV when news from South Korea appeared. The Gwishin were attacking again, but what shocked them, was the new models attacking. They appear like a friend of Hana. She couldn't take off her eyes of the screen.
In there, the Gwishin somehow copied Bastion's model and attacking modes. And they were using it to attack her home, Busan.
