Okay, starting this before 1st period starts. Probably going to continue after, because Wynaut.
CC Alpha: Yeah! Prinplup now! Wait, how'd you get so many rare candies?
CC Alpha: And then we jump back, do it again.
Jinglebells852: Thank you!
toscanofrancisco01: Actually, there is. In chapter 2. It's just a small detail, though.
YAYSOLANGELO: Alright, cool.
DevilishPixelation1006: Um, this takes place during Order of the Phoenix.
I own nothing.
Percy
The holidays were coming to an end, and Percy felt a bit sad and guilty. He was sad because Grimmauld Place was kinda awesome when it wasn't trying to kill them, and either way, it was better than school, though Piggypimples was also kinda awesome, too.
He was guilty because he realized he hadn't contacted his mom at all since he left for the quest. He was going to have to IM her soon.
He was going upstairs to IM her when Mrs. Weasley called him.
"Percy, dear, could you come to the kitchen? Professor Snape wants to talk with you and Harry."
He groaned silently and went downstairs to where Snape was.
He opened the kitchen door to where Harry was sitting, and Snape standing there with Sirius.
"... the Order." Snape was saying, glaring at Sirius.
Sirius flushed. Snape curled his lip in triumph, then turned towards Percy and Harry.
"The headmaster has sent me to tell you both that it is his wish for you both to learn Occlumency this term."
"Study what?" Percy and Harry said in unison.
Snape's sneer became more pronounced.
"Occlumency, Potter, Jackson. The magical defense of the mind against external presentation. An obscure branch of magic, but a highly useful one."
Percy grinned. He realized what this could mean. No more demigod dreams! Maybe. He wondered if that would work with gods and stuff. Maybe not, but he didn't want to get his hopes down.
Harry, on the other hand, looked quite panicked. Percy wondered if he was still worried about being possessed.
"And why do we need to learn Occlu - thing?" Harry asked.
"Because the headmaster believes it is a good idea." Snape said smoothly. "You will receive private lessons once a week, but you will tell no one what you are doing. Understand?"
They both nodded. "So, who's going to teach us?" said Percy, grinning.
Snape raised an eyebrow.
"I am."
Percy didn't let that get him down. A mental block! This is going to be awesome. He wondered if he could use it on the Athena kids to prevent them from knowing what he was thinking. Was that a power of their's, or was he just predictable?
Harry didn't look as though he felt the same. He looked as though he were going to throw up.
"Why not Dumbledore?" Sirius asked. "Why you?"
"I assure you I did not beg for the job." Snape said. "Six o' clock on Monday evening in my office, Potter, Jackson. Potter, if anyone asks, you are taking Remedial Potions. Nobody who has seen you in my class will deny you need them. Jackson, since you are much more capable than mister Potter, you will pose as my assistant."
He walked out, Sirius stopping him with a bone to pick, but Percy wasn't paying attention. He was still wondering about the capabilities of Occluthingy when he remembered he needed to contact his mom.
He went into the restroom and pulled out his wand. He heard the Trace couldn't be detected easily in Grimmauld Place, so he made a light mist and whispered "Lumos."
He pulled out a drachma and whispered "O' Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, show me Sally Jackson."
The image appeared. She was sitting on the couch, writing on her laptop.
"Mom!" he said. She looked up at him and said "Paul, Paul, it's Percy!"
Paul came in, holding little Estelle in his arms. "Percy? How are you doing? What's that?" He pointed at his wand.
"Well, my life got a whole lot weirder."
"That's possible?" Paul asked, holding Estelle away from the laptop.
He nodded. "Wizards are real, I have become one to help one named Harry Potter against someone who's been after him since he was a baby, Lord Moldywart."
They blinked at him, the only sound being Estelle putting her hand in her mouth.
"Well, that's new."
Percy nodded.
"Well, stay safe," his mom said.
"I'll try."
"How are you regarding - " Paul started, but was interrupted by Estelle, who seemed to have just realized that Percy was there. "Bercy?"
Percy laughed. Bercy had been what she called him for a while now.
She was crawling up to his image when somebody knocked. "Percy?" Hermione's voice asked. "What's going on in there?"
"Who's that?" his mother asked.
"A friend." he answered. He opened the door. "Hey, Hermione, I'm talking to my family."
"Really? How?"
"An Iris Message."
"What's - "
"Come in, I'll show you."
She entered the restroom. "A girl?" his mom asked, seeming interested.
Percy rolled his eyes while Hermione blushed. "Mom, it's not like that."
They were interrupted by Estelle suddenly appearing. "Bercy!"
Hermione laughed as Estelle moved her hand through the image.
Paul looked at Percy. "Does she know - "
"Yes, she worked out that the gods are real."
She put her hand through the image. "What is this?"
"Well, half bloods can't use phones. It's basically calling 'Please! Come kill me!' So we use an Iris Message to communicate."
Someone banged on the door. "Oy! Hurry up in there!" Ron's voice said.
Percy turned towards his mom. "Sorry, I gotta go. Bye, I love you." Paul, his mom, and Estelle waved goodbye and the image disappeared.
Percy opened the door and saw Ron standing there, doing the pee pee dance. "What - "
It was then Percy realized that he and Hermione alone in a restroom was not the best thing to see. Especially if the person that found them is someone who jumps to conclusions very quickly, like Ron.
He glared at them, and pushed past Percy. "Ron, it's not - " Percy started, but Ron interrupted.
"Piss off," he said.
He slammed the door in his and Hermione's face. They were still for a moment, Hermione glaring at the door. She stomped off.
Percy was left there, only wondering if Ron had heard his mom and Paul.
Ah, good old Ron. Sorry if this is a bit bad, I've been typing this while doing school Zoom meetings.
Some of you might be wondering why Percy is doing Occlumency with Harry. I answer to you in an ancient language: plipplop derp, meaning, just read the story, all will be answered.
Please remember to review, and have a nice day!
