Chapter - 18
Couple days later it was Monday, Kori wasn't present in school, the only people, who knew the reason for her absence were Dick, Gar and Rachel. Everyone actually had been wondering where Kori went, because after the ball they haven't seen her nor heard about her. Dick noticed that Rachel had been giving him death glares and he admits that he deserves it. After all Rachel already warned him, that Kori probably mistaken his kindness and protectiveness for a different intention, the Tamaranean girl actually believed that he also liked her back.
On the other hand Gar felt guilty and apologised at Kori for encouraging her to confess to him. Seeing Kori Anders sad and not bubbly like usual hurt him a lot. When they brought Kori home, Rachel stayed with her, because Terra had been calling and leaving a lot messages to her boyfriend.
When their lesson ended, Rachel left, Gar too, but was followed by Dick. The last people that remained in the classroom were Jen, Roy and Jade, who packed their books in their bag. When Jen was about to leave the classroom, Roy smirked, which the girl noticed.
"Harper don't even think about teasing me." Jen hissed, but Jade just chuckled. She never thought that Jen's type would be Wally West. But before Roy could say something, Jade cut him off, "You have no idea of what Jen's capable to."
"I rather not want to know." Roy chuckled nervously, someone sudddenly entered the classroom, which was Wally. Now, Jade was smirking at Jen, teasing her friend, who blushed lightly from embarrassment, as her boyfriend came to pick her up.
Jen is still new to that couple thing, she had never dated a guy like him. The last relationship didn't end good, but she guessed that Wally is different.
"Hello guys and babe." Wally smiled at them and then put an arm around Jen's shoulder, who rolled her eyes, while the others chuckled.
"Are you two going on a date?" Jade asked with a slight of curiousity, "Yeah, we were supposed to meet in the parking lot." Jen looked at Wally.
"I know, but I wasn't only here to pick you up. There is this girl that I had to bring here." Wally explained.
"A girl? You had to?" Jen raised an eye brow, the boy chuckled for his girlfriend's jealousy, but Wally whistled lightly, then a black haired girl suddenly entered the classroom.
"Donna?" Roy's eyes widen, while Jade looked at the two when he approached Donna and put her into a tight hug.
"I am glad that I bumped into Wally in the hallway, without him I wouldn't have found this classroom-.." but before Donna could say something, he cut her off with a kiss. Wallu noticed that Jade's expression changed very quick, as his friend and Donna made a physical contact.
"Oh! My bad I forgot to introduce myself, I am Donna Troy." The girl said while she was holding Roy's hand, while looking at the two girls.
"I'm Jen-.."
"My girlfriend." Wally smirked, Jen rolled her eyes sarcastically while the others laughed except for Jade, who was still shocked and sad that she just found out that Roy and Donna are in a relationship. She was so focused with her thoughts, that she didn't notice that Donna approached her, "You must be Jade, nice to meet you." She smiled.
"Likewise." Jade forced a smile.
Awkward. Wally thought, as he watched Roy nervously.
"Anyways, we have to go now. I reserved a table for four." Donna said as she clung her arm around Roy and walked towards to the door with him.
"For four?" Jen raised an eye brow at Wally, who chuckled nervously, "You see this will be a spontanous double date."
"Oh.. You always like to plan everything spontantous." Roy chuckled, the two couple left the classroom, leaving Jade alone, but before they left, Wally took a glance at the girl and noticed that a tear fell down from her cheek.
When the two couple walked through the hallway, Wally suddenly felt dizzy and was about to lose his balance, but Jen caught him.
"Wally, are your alright?" Donna and Roy asked in unison, while Jen looked at Wally with a worried expression and touched his forehead.
"Y-Yeah.. just a little bit dizzy." He mumbled.
"I think you two should go on that date alone, because Wally doesn't seem to be in a good condition." Jen said, while she looked at her boyfriend with a concerned look, that he found adorable. Why can't she always look at me like that. He thought as she touched his forehead. Befofe Donna could say something, Wally cut her off, "She is right. You two should enjoy the date alone."
"Get well soon bro." Roy patted him on the back and then left with Donna.
"Wally, should I call your parents to pick you up? Because I don't want you to drive in this condition." Jen said in a worried tone, but Wally shook his head, "I need a hug." The girl immediately put him in an embrace and hugged him tight, "Anything else?" She asked worriedly, hoping that her boyfriend will get better, but as a respond he chuckled lightly.
"You idiot! You malignered." Jen pushed him away from her, but Wally couldn't help but laugh and found her reaction cute. "You're so cute when you're worried about me and especially when you're jealous" He smirked and touched her chin, but the girl rolled her eyes.
"Next time you'll be worried about what I might do next time to you if you do that again." She glared at him.
"I am sorry for causing that act. But I think you should go to Jade, she really needs someone right now." Wally explained, which made Jen surprised. Before she could say something, Wally looked at her eyes, he was serious, she could read it from his face."
"Rachel! Wait!" Dick ran after the Roth girl, who was walking through the campus, she sighed in annoyance and turned around to him.
"What?"
"Kori, h-how is she?" Dick asked, he tried to contact her, but she never responded to any of his messages or calls. So the only way to find it out, was through Rachel. After all she was the last person who talked to Kori, when the ball ended .
"Ask her."
"She's not responding."
"Then it's not my problem. If she doesn't want to talk to you then let her." Rachel told him, but the boy rolled his eyes, "You know that I care for her."
"And you knew that she loves you." She reminded him and the girl was right. Dick knew it, but didn't do anything, when the boy was about to say something, Roy and Donna were aproaching the two or actually Dick, which is why Rachel left. She overheard the conversation between them, "Want to go to a double date? Because Donna made a reservation for four and you can bring Barbara too." Roy said.
Rachel rolled her eyes and walked to the car that was waiting for her, the chaffeur opened the door for her, "How was your day Ms.Roth?" She just shrugged her shoulder, "Fine, I guess." After that ball, she noticed that a lot of things happened in that night, Dick revealed that the whole time he is in a relationship and kept it to the others, Roy reunited with his childhood crush and is now dating her, Wally and Jen are going out, Kori has been avoiding any socials contact, even she doesn't respond to Rachel's calls or messages, Garth has been acting strange and Gar has relationship problems with Terra, because of her, although Rachel didn't do anything.
The girl sighed in annoyance, "Everything's alright Ms.Roth?" her chaffeur asked while driving.
"Could you please drive me to the Anders residence?" She asked, the driver nodded. After fifteen minutes she arrived in Kori's place and told her driver that she'll cal when to pick her up, as she went out the car, she rang on the doorbell. There was no respond until Rachel presses probably twenty times on the bell, revealing the owner of the house. Kori Anders.
She looked wasted, Kori was wearing a purple hoodie with Geez trousers, her hair was in a bun and she looked like as if she didn't sleep.
"Rachel? What is it." Kori asked.
"Just wanted to check if you're still alive." Rachel mumbled, which made the Anders girl giggle. The two went inside her room, it was just like how Rachel would imagine it. Pink and girlish.
" What brings you here?" Kori asked her as the two sat on the bed.
"Everyone thinks you have are sick, except for Dick. He wanted to know how you feel, so?"
Kori sighed, she herself was confused about her emotions, on the other hand she knew that she doesn't have the right to be angry at him, because they were never together and he had the right to date anyone without telling her. He is the first guy who made her flattered her heart, she never thought that she would fall in love Dick with Dick Grayson.
"Tomorrow." Kori mumbled and hugged her legs, which made Rachel confuse, "Tomorrow you're coming to school? Or tomorrow is the last day where you will cut classes?"
"Tomorrow I'll come to school."
"Okay, Jade what's the matter..." but before Jen could say something, she realised that Jade was trying to wipe her tears, which is why she immediately put her into an embrace. The two headed to Jade's penthouse and as they arrived, Jen's eyes widen by how huge her accommodation is and not to forget that she owns this hotel.
The two sat on the couch, before Jen could say something, Jade's eyes started to get watery. "What about your double date with Roy and Donna?" She sobbed and wiped her tears away with her sleeves.
"I wasn't really into that double date thing and Wally didn't feel we." She half lied. The girl did want to spend some time with her boyfriend, since they are a fresh couple, but only alone not in a group.
"It's about Roy right?" Jen knew that Jade developed feelings for him, it was obvious sometimes it seemed like as if they were a couple in the campus, because of how close they are. Jade nodded and hugged Jen tightly, who actually doesn't do any hugs, but this was an exception.
"You shouldn't cry for a guy who doesn't deserve your tears." Jen said and patted her on the back, she felt the tears on her shoulder, I have to wash this blouse before I sleep. She thought.
"I love him." Jade sobbed with a pain in her tone, Jen looked at her, "How can you love someone that wasn't yours. Jade, there are many guys out there. I know your relationship with him started with intimacy, but can you really imagine a future with a Roy Harper, who is only after sex?" Jen raised an eye brow, Jade broke the hug and wiped her tears with her sleeves again.
Roy might seem like a guy, who's only after his desires, but she also met a different side of him.
A side that not very girl got to see.
"He loves Donna a lot. You didn't see the way he look at her in the ball." Jade explained.
Obviously because I had to work. Jen thought, but kept it for herself.
"Okay, so what if he loves her. If he found his happiness than so should you Jade."
"B-But you don't understand." Jade stammered and started to cry again as she touched her stomach.
"Then explain. I'll listen." Jen said in a calm tone, she is actually an impatient person, but in this situation she knew that Jade needed some time.
"I am carrying Roy's five month old baby."
That's it.
