Chapter Twenty-Four
Half an hour later…
Charlie, Alan, and Larry were waiting for a nurse to come over to give them updates on Don and Amita as they watched Megan talk with Colby and David about what happened at the warehouse. They couldn't hear them talk from the distance but non of the weary men could care about that at the moment as their minds were more focused on Don's condition and waiting for Amita to come out.
Charlie was particularly anxious, as he wanted to have a talk with Amita about what has been going on the last couple weeks and wanted to make sure it was something that they could fix together.
'I just hope that she is willing to at least tell me what has been going on with her for the past couple weeks.'
At the same time, Alan was thinking about his son and daughter-in-laws, who all went through a lot in the past few days. He was just grateful that his son was alive and that they can get through all this as a family.
'I am grateful that Donnie has us to help him get through this and that he can be there for his new daughter.'
Another thing on his mind is why all those bodies ended up in places he and Stan worked on and why Stan was still unavailable to talk with them. Though his friend and business partner said he would be there in a couple days, Alan was beginning to wonder if he was going to show up at all.
'It's not that I don't think he's involved at all,' Alan thought to himself, 'It's just that I'm worried what it could mean if he is and what that could mean for the rest of us, I just hope that he's not and this is just something that just came to my mind.'
Both Alan and Charlie were pulled from their thoughts when a doctor entering the room with Amita coming with him. Charlie immediately got out of his chair and pulled his wife into a hug and she hugged him back.
"Are you okay, Amita?" Charlie quietly asked
"I am now." She said as she was thinking about what she had been told by doctors and what it could mean for their future.
"Doctor?" Alan asked anxiously, "Is my son alright?"
"He is going to make, but we had to take him to surgery to address his injuries and it might be awhile before we hear news." The doctor answered
"Amita, are you alright?" Alan asked, concerned for his daughter-in-law's wellbeing
"Well, you could say that we are all right." Amita said
"We?" Charlie asked
"Yes, Charlie," Amita said, "I just found out that I'm pregnant."
