Lexie had made it very clear to Mark that they were not back together. Even though they'd had sex in the On-Call room the week before, they were nowhere near ready to be a couple again. They had a long way to go in rebuilding their relationship, but for the first time in months, Lexie was truly happy.

Mark had been doing a lot of little things to show her that he loved her, from leaving a bag of peanut butter cups in her cubby to rubbing her feet after a long surgery. He was there for her, and that was what mattered.

Lexie had spent a great deal of time bonding with Sofia, and while a part of her still wished that Sofia was biologically hers, the little girl was impossible not to love.

Meredith and Derek had also been looking into adopting one of the orphans that Alex had brought from Africa for surgery. Her name was Zola and she was absolutely adorable. Lexie was really happy for her sister, knowing that she hadn't been able to get pregnant again after the miscarriage she had suffered during the shooting. She was also excited about having another niece.

In eleven weeks, her son would be born, and she would officially become a mother. She couldn't be happier. So when April paged her to one of the larger conference rooms, she had a feeling that she knew what this was.

She wasn't wrong. April had managed to throw her an amazing baby shower, and Lexie couldn't be more grateful.

Whereas Callie's baby shower had been more gender neutral because she hadn't known yet that she was having a girl, Lexie's baby shower was a sea of blue. She loved it.

Lexie had thought that with everything that she had already purchased on prior shopping trips with Meredith, she had almost everything she needed for her son. Apparently she was wrong.

In addition to the many outfits she was given that ranged from newborn to 18 months, she also received various toys and books, as well as essential items like diapers and baby wipes.

Being surrounded by so many people who loved and supported her, Lexie couldn't help but smile and cry. She had spent so much of her pregnancy being miserable and stressed, and now she was getting to experience the joys.
