Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Meanace (rewrite)

I don't hate George Lucas or the Star Wars prequels. I never have. Even when I first realized that these movies weren't as good as the originals back in high school. But it sure didn't stop others like myself to make some changes to make more sense from a cinematic standpoint. If this version does sound like the one we got, it's because I used it as a base.

21. Denouement

Sometime later, two different shuttles land on the planet, one carrying the Jedi Council and the new Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and another being the viceroy's personal shuttle. As the viceroy makes his way towards his shuttle, he assures the queen that this isn't over. Obi-Wan then briefly thanks Padme for allowing his master to be buried on Naboo. Then Palpatine walks up towards the queen and asks if it's true that she would like to make Naboo part of the Republic now. She confirms. And they walk off to discuss terms. She also tells him she has great faith in his creation act.

And the Jedi council, along with Anakin, approach Obi-Wan and tell him that they heard many significant events occuring there, and that lightsabers were involved. He tells them they are true, and that Qui-Gon is dead. They ask how. Obi-Wan tells them that the attacker was indeed a Sith, but he has defeated him.. "Always two there are: A master, and an apprentice. No more. No less." Then another counselor asks, "But which was destroyed? The master? Or the apprentice?" "Matter, it does not. If destroyed, the apprentice was, replaced he will be. And if destroyed the master was, then become the master, the apprentice will. Speaking of which, upon defeating this Sith you have, promote you to Jedi Knight, we do. And concur that this Anakin is to be your Padawan, we do. For exceptional in his tests, he was." Yoda then shows Obi-Wan a holorecording of Anakin passing his trials with minimal difficulty.

Meanwhile, in space, the Neidmodian fleet jumps to hyperspace. We join the Viceroy and commander Rune Haako at the bridge, talking to Sidious's hologram. Gunray apologizes to Sidious that they were unable to hold the planet. Sidious tells them to not worry. Gunray asks why not, since they failed to hold the last non-Neimodian source of marsium crystals in the galaxy. Sidious then tells them it was never about the crystals. When the viceroy asks him why, Sidious tells him that it was about matters beyond his comprehension. However, his true motive was to create dissonance in the Senate. And then we cut to a victory parade that pretty much plays out how it did in the actual movie.
