Day 16 (July 22nd). Me and My OC: You guessed it! Today is all about original characters. Today's prompt is all about OCs!

Focus: Kiryu screwed up. Team Satisfaction is at its end.

Characters: Kiryu, Crow, Jack, Yusei, and my OC, R/Kallen

"God damn." Crow was pacing around the room in uneven strides. "Fuckin' hell, Kiryu. You weren't even thinking, man!" He finally stopped to glare at Kiryu. Kiryu, ever calm, had his arms over his chest as he easily leaned against the wall. Out of everyone, he appeared the most indifferent to the cruel circumstance.

No one else dared to look his way. Yusei stood opposite from him, inches away, but not touching. Jack was on the other side of the room with his back turned to the group. Beside him was R, who held a fierce glare, every breath she took filled more and more with rage. Her fists trembled by her sides.

"We said, no, we agreed that we'd take out every duel gang in Satellite," Kiryu reminded the group calmly. "That was always the plan."

"No- no!" Crow swiped a hand through his hair out of pure agitation. "We didn't agree to take out no kids! If R hadn't pulled you off of him, he'd-"

"Don't get it, do you?" Kiryu sneered. "We would've been one step closer to owning this whole town."

"You would have killed him," Jack corrected in a low voice. His hand reached out to grip R's wrist. She yanked it out of his. He didn't seem upset or offended by the action. R held a guilty look, but refused to look at any of them.

The room was silent. "You went too far," Jack shook his head.

Kiryu sucked in a breath. His look of astonishment that his own team would doubt him, their leader, instead turned into something more intense- something almost insane. "What happened to whatever it takes?" Kiryu snarled. "What happened to doing what's right, to getting satisfaction-"

"Oh, fuck you and your philosophical bullshit," R finally glanced up to hiss her words at Kiryu. "Satisfaction. You created this team to help those who couldn't. Then you turn your back to spit on those words for what? To beat up some kid who couldn't fight back?" R let out a bitter laugh. She held one hand to her chest. "If I hadn't stepped in, that kid would've been dead, and you? You would've been an even bigger piece of shit than I thought you were."

Kiryu stepped back- a reaction that made it look as if he had been slapped. He quickly recovered his stance to step closer to R. Crow immediately moved to R's side, but she held out her hand to stop him.

Kiryu's voice was low. "You're one of us now," His eyes darkened. "After what happened-"

"No," R was shaking. Not from fear. She wasn't scared. She was furious. "I will never be. Daichi is my leader."

"He's dead! You think he's alive?!" Kiryu's yelling made R freeze. "You see how Public Maintence treats us. Who says they didn't take him out? Or Lux? They shot Yusuke, what makes you think they-"

"Shut up." R cut Kiryu off. The pressure in the room began to rise, a telltale sign of R's emotions. "You will never speak about my family that way." R had to take a deep breath to control her growing negative thoughts. "You aren't my leader. You will never be my leader. Daichi was Jason of the Argonauts, but you? You're nothing." In the corner of the room, Yusei visibly flinched from R's harsh words.

"R-" Crow tried to reach for her, but this time Jack was the one to stop him.

"I may be the only member of the Arsenics. I'm still one of them, and as long as I'm standin' here, that means we're alive." R was almost spitting out the words at this point. "You got what you wanted. Team Satisfaction is the leadin' duel gang. You control Satellite. Congratulation! Now back the fuck off and be happy you won."

Kiryu seemed to consider her words. He stared at her, the silence stretching as his smile grew. "You're right and wrong, pal," His tone was eerily calm, but somehow cold. "We didn't take out all the duel gangs. There's one left." Kiryu stretched out his hand. "Say you'll join Team Satisfaction."

Jack finally turned around with a stunned expression. R was the one to let out a short cackle.

"Sorry. I'll pass," R casually fixed the strap of her fingerless gloves. "I'm not the Team's bitch. You want me to leave instead? Fine by me." R moved to pick her backpack off the floor, the one that held her duel disk and machine part. Just as she tried to march to the door, Kiryu reached out to grab her arm. R stood still.

"Let go of me, Kiryu," R said his name in a chilling tone. "You don't want to do this."

"Hey man, just let her go, she said she'd leave-" Crow tried to step forward to come in between the pair, but Kiryu was faster. He used his free hand to shove Crow away.

"Kiryu," Jack's tone held a warning.

"You said it first. If you're here, there's a duel gang we haven't stopped," Kiryu's grip tightened around R's wrist.

"You gonna hurt me? Destroy my duel disk?" R yanked his hand off of hers and threw it back in his face. "Don't think you were half the leader Daichi was. Say whatever the fuck you want about the Arsenics, but at least we didn't shit on kids who couldn't fight back."

"Team Satisfaction never got tricked by Public Maintenance," KIryu kept persisting. "Seriously, Tomorrow Girl-"

"You don't have the right to use that name," R interrupted him.

"You could get back at them. For them."

R set her background on the ground with a sigh. "Fine. Get real. You won't be "satisfied" until I quit, or you take me out." R let her gold eyes meet Kiryu's. "So do it. Take me out." R held her hands in the air in surrender.

"R-" Jack tried to say her name.

"We'll duel for it," Kiryu went to reach for his duel disk, but R snorted.

"Take me out like you did that kid," R goaded him on. "Don't pretend you're suddenly honorable-"

"Like your team hasn't done worse!" Kiryu snapped. "Come on, you're called the fucking Arsenics, your team burnt down houses-"

They stood almost face to face. "If you're team was so perfect, why did they get arrested, why didn't you stop Yusuke from getting shot-"

"Don't go there," R spoke quietly.

"Are you going to stop me, Tomorrow Girl?" He used her name purposefully.

"Stop trying to get a rise out of me!" R hissed.

"Calm down, both of you-" Yusei finally spoke up, his arms in the air to signal for peace.

"The enabler speaks!" R turned to Yusei with a shout that caused Yusei to step back with wide eyes. "Have some self-respectful for gods sake!"

"Leave him out of this," Kiryu spun R so she faced him again.

"Or what? You gonna hit me? You gonna kill me?" R taunted him. "When are you gonna cross that line?"

"You want a fight?" Kiryu spat out. "Fine!" Crow shouted something. Jack lunged forward, but R was faster. She grabbed his outstretched hand and twisted it, her leg flying forward to kick his ankle out from under him. Kiryu fell to the ground with an unceremonious thunk. R stood above him, her nostrils flaring.

Everything else was a blur. Jack grabbed R's hand. Crow was now holding Kiryu's arms behind him to stop him from trying to grab at R again.

"I'm done!" Crow was shouting. "Fuck, man, I can't do this anymore. I'm done." Crow let go of Kiryu and wiped the back of his eyes with his arm. "We don't hurt our friends. We don't fuckin' do that."

"She's the enemy!" Kiryu protested. "She's our last obstacle in getting satisfaction out of this shitstain of a-"

"I'm leaving as well," Jack grabbed R's backpack on the ground with his freehand. His other hand, the one previously around R's hand, was now protectively holding her around the waist. Either to protect her, or to stop her from beating the shit out of Kiryu, the verdict was in the air.

Kiryu's laugh was almost too loud. "Look at you, Atlas. She's not gonna fuck you!"

"Go to hell," Jack's response was curt. Crow was the first to leave. Jack was waiting for R, who hesitated. She took one last look at Yusei, who opened his mouth to say something, but closed it a moment later. R shook her head. The look on her face suggested she thought Yusei was a lost cause.

"Bye, Yusei." The words stung. It wasn't the normal catchphrase she used. Goodbye until tomorrow. A promise that she'd always be back. Yusei knew she purposefully chose her closing statement.

"Get back here!" Kiryu was screeching. "We're not done! We're not finished yet!" Kiryu kept yelling, but all three players were gone.

A/N:

Tune in tomorrow for Day 17, Polar Opposites, for a day all about contrasts! Sorry this was late going up!

R is from The Road to Hell, my OC fic, where it's about a girl named Kallen who has amnesia. R is who Kallen was from her days in Satellite :)
